We grabbed dinner around 8:30pm but didn't get seated until some time later because there was a wait. We ordered the chix crab dip which wasn't bad. It was nice and creamy and the perfect appetizer. For my main meal I decided to get the Greek hummus wrap. The Greek hummus wrap was good but I got overwhelmed by the feta cheese and something else that was in the wrap because it was too watery but it was good but a bit much. My sister was visiting from FL and we wanted to sit near the oceanfront for lunch. This location is absolutely perfect! We actually sat outside in July, the breeze from the ocean kept us somewhat comfortable. We ordered the pita platter to start, 10 out of 10! I would definitely get this again, the hummus was so garlicky and the veggies were very fresh! Now for the bad news, I ordered the fried fish sandwich, the fish was way too thick to eat as a sandwich so I took it off the bread to eat on its own, they left the skin on the fish!!!! I couldn't eat any more, it was just not good! You remove the skin for a fish sandwich. My sister got the chicken tenders and she did like them. I apologize for not getting a photo of our actual lunch, sadly you're not missing much. The server was attentive but never checked on how we liked our meal. The espresso martini was not the best we've had, but the mango Crush, strawberry lemon drop martini, and lemon drop martini were all good. The goat cheese jalapeno burger was out of this world amazing and so unique. I'm not a big burger person, but it was cooked perfectly medium, the cheese melted into the burger, and the toppings just pulled it all together. The ultimate seafood was expensive, but it was nice to be able to try a variety of seafood while at the beach. Their fries were perfectly crispy. Even the coleslaw was refreshing and a good palate cleanser. The Southwest salad with the tuna was filling and full of toppings. The fish of the day had a flavor forward blackened topping. This place I found in a 5 minute window pulling into the beach. The parking lot a little chaotic but have free valet if eating there. Staff friendly and we're seated quickly on heated patio. I got lump crab cake sandwich with fries. Hubby got cod meal with mac and cheese and coleslaw. Everything was very fresh but crab cake was a tad small and it is very loud in there due to the large bar. Try the citrus cake no vodka taste. And this place right on the beach so great views. We were seated right away, and Rachel was our server. She was super polite, gave excellent suggestions, and stayed attentive throughout our meal. To start, we had the She Crab Soup, Blackened Steak Bites, and Hushpuppies--all 10/10. The soup was rich and flavorful with an abundance of crab. The steak bites were cooked perfectly, and that signature sauce? It needs to be bottled and sold! The hushpuppies were spot on, especially with the butter. YUM. For the entrée, we ordered the Ultimate Just Seafood platter: jumbo shrimp, sea scallops, lump crab meat, and lobster tail all dredged in Old Bay and butter. Absolutely phenomenal--so good! With the generous portion, it was perfect for sharing, especially alongside our sides of mashed potatoes and a garden salad. Their peppercorn dressing is a must-try, foodies. Came here on a cloudy day due to "Erin" hurricane, because the family wanted some boiled seafood and this place DID NOT disappoint! We sat on the covered patio which has a nice beach ambient and our server was always quick and responsive on our needs. Amazing service by all. Food wise, we got the snow crab legs boiled and they were so good that barely the shells survived. Located on the boardwalk, Chix is a cute all American so food spot. They have an area that borders the boardwalk so you can look out as you eat, a bar area and more of an indoor seating area. The food overall wasn't too bad and the prices were reasonable. I got the fish sandwich and it was ok. The breading was thin and barely held together once I started eating it. Taste wise, it was not bad with the tartar sauce but without was pretty bland. My friend got Mac and cheese for her son and heads up, it's Kraft that has been up charged. Such a wonderful spot on the boardwalk. We waited less than 20 minutes for a spot on a Wednesday night. 20 min is nothing with a live band and the ocean in front of you! Our server, Grace, was incredible. She was kind, hilarious and personable. Sit in their patio if you can! The ocean breeze and open setting helps with the music and sound coming from inside. Too LOUD, too EXPENSIVE, and lost our climate control due to Host/Hostess just not listening. Food was ok, service was outstanding. When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted a table inside or outside. We told them definitely inside as it was too muggy and hot for outside. They sat us at the very end of the building, and close to the bar traffic. Bar crowd was super loud; so loud the waitress couldn't hear us. Within five minutes of being seated, they opened up a huge garage door next to our table - well, there went our comfort as it killed the climate control. And folks from outside started moving their chairs and just kind of "hung" (hovered over) around our table (assuming they wanted the A/C even though they chose to be outside). Pretty upsetting when we made it clear we didn't want to be outside, which we now pretty much were. The food was decent, but nothing spectacular, and not at the prices they charged. I came here for a weekday lunch on a nice sunny day. You can't beat the view and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Of course we had some crushes. They are delicious but I personally think they are way overpriced. I ordered the Surf and Turf wrap and I subbed the side for mac and cheese. Food came out really fast and was very good. That mac and cheese was honestly some of the best I have had. I loved the broiled top and it was super cheesy. The wrap was also very good with steak and shrimp. I would definitely order that again. There are lots of options on the menu even for the non seafood loving people. Service was a little slow that day but very friendly. All sorts of seating options including an outdoor patio. Valet parking and that day are valet attendant was very nice. Reminded us to grab our cell phones - we did - and parked us close to the building since we had a baby with us and even cracked a window. Very thoughtful. I would definitely go back and recommend - even just for a crush with a view and if you are lucky some outdoor music. read more

A nice dive bar type place on the strip- but actually quite large inside. We were lucky to be seated beach side and had a great view of the ocean. We (party of 2) stopped by for dinner and although it was busy we were seated in 15 minutes. We ordered a couple Crush cocktails, fried calamari, crab dip, just seafood entree, and pork belly tacos. I have no problem tipping, especially when the service is good. I even tipped our waitress even though the gratuity was already taken out. I get it can be tough, but to automatically take it out is ridiculous. It seems like when places like this automatically take your money to tip, the service lacks. Granted ours didn't and like I said we tipped more. But to automatically take it, is borderline theft in my eyes. I base my 4 stars on the food and service this trip but I will not return. read more

We went on a rainy weeknight so it wasn't as busy in the back area as it was in the bar area. This was fine as we had our kiddo with us, and we were there to eat not drink drink. We ordered a she-crab soup for the table since we kept seeing it and wasn't exactly sure what it was. And we all loved it! The SIL ordered a bowl for herself. Then 3 of us shared a shrimp and crab feast and ended up ordering a second bag/order. It was delicious eats... The service was kind and friendly, as well as attentive. The ambiance was chill. Simultaneous to this, there were some raucous, screaming drunk people coming out of the restaurant. Chix has a great ambiance, the view of the boardwalk and oceanfront is beautiful all year long (anywhere you sit) and the crowd there is always friendly and fun, as well as the attentive service. The food is really good, I have had the calamari many times, stuffed jalapeño peppers, peel and eat shrimp, burger sliders, chicken sandwich, Greek salad.....and of course orange crushes. Crab dip was flavorless with zero salt content, crab cakes tasted like store bought salmon patties, breading on chicken wasn't much more than just flour, and seafood plate was cooked in butter with a little old bay sprinkled on top. Adding any amount of spices would drastically improve the food. Seems like all they have in the kitchen is a container of old bay that is used sparingly.
