Chix has been on my radar for such a long time, and i really don't know what took me so long to check them out, but i'm glad i did. we asked to be seated outside, and we were pretty much seated immediately under the covered patio. being able to see the views of the boardwalk and the beach. i started off with the ghost pepper margarita and ordered a bowl of she crab soup. the margarita was good. i was nervous ordering bc i thought it would be super spicy due to the ghost pepper, but i was able to make it through. & the she crab soup, omgeeeee ... they did not skimp on the crab. and i'm glad of it. it was probably one of the best she crabs i've had. i also ordered the blackened tuna tacos. they were good. the only thing for me is i should've ordered them medium vs ordering them medium well. but that was my fault. my friend ordered the surf and turf tacos, so i got to try that out as well. the steak was seasoned to perfection. they also had a live playing on the night we visited. definitely would say Chix provided good vibes. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it's right by the boardwalk and had such strong Yelp reviews, but the food was disappointing. For what you pay, I expected much better quality. For my main meal I decided to get the Greek hummus wrap. The Greek hummus wrap was good but I got overwhelmed by the feta cheese and something else that was in the wrap because it was too watery but it was good but a bit much. My husband and I came to VA beach for our honeymoon. After checking into our hotel, we got an early dinner since our hotel was right next door. We were seated immediately, and our waiter was very peppy and helpful. We sat outside facing the beach, which was nice with the ocean waves in the background and the warm evening air. My sister was visiting from FL and we wanted to sit near the oceanfront for lunch. This location is absolutely perfect! We actually sat outside in July, the breeze from the ocean kept us somewhat comfortable. We ordered the pita platter to start, 10 out of 10! I would definitely get this again, the hummus was so garlicky and the veggies were very fresh! Now for the bad news, I ordered the fried fish sandwich, the fish was way too thick to eat as a sandwich so I took it off the bread to eat on its own, they left the skin on the fish!!!! I couldn't eat any more, it was just not good! You remove the skin for a fish sandwich. My sister got the chicken tenders and she did like them. The goat cheese jalapeno burger was out of this world amazing and so unique. I'm not a big burger person, but it was cooked perfectly medium, the cheese melted into the burger, and the toppings just pulled it all together. The ultimate seafood was expensive, but it was nice to be able to try a variety of seafood while at the beach. Their fries were perfectly crispy. Even the coleslaw was refreshing and a good palate cleanser. The Southwest salad with the tuna was filling and full of toppings. The fish of the day had a flavor forward blackened topping. This place I found in a 5 minute window pulling into the beach. The parking lot a little chaotic but have free valet if eating there. Staff friendly and we're seated quickly on heated patio. I got lump crab cake sandwich with fries. Hubby got cod meal with mac and cheese and coleslaw. Everything was very fresh but crab cake was a tad small and it is very loud in there due to the large bar. Try the citrus cake no vodka taste. And this place right on the beach so great views. In town for a staycation, I hopped in the elevator and asked a couple where they were heading for dinner. Their answer? CHIX! Checked the menu and boom--here I am. We were seated right away, and Rachel was our server. She was super polite, gave excellent suggestions, and stayed attentive throughout our meal. For the entrée, we ordered the Ultimate Just Seafood platter: jumbo shrimp, sea scallops, lump crab meat, and lobster tail all dredged in Old Bay and butter. Absolutely phenomenal--so good! We sat on the covered patio which has a nice beach ambient and our server was always quick and responsive on our needs. Amazing service by all. Located on the boardwalk, Chix is a cute all American so food spot. They have an area that borders the boardwalk so you can look out as you eat, a bar area and more of an indoor seating area. The food overall wasn't too bad and the prices were reasonable. I got the fish sandwich and it was ok. The breading was thin and barely held together once I started eating it. I came here for a weekday lunch on a nice sunny day. You can't beat the view and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Of course we had some crushes. They are delicious but I personally think they are way overpriced. I ordered the Surf and Turf wrap and I subbed the side for mac and cheese. Food came out really fast and was very good. That mac and cheese was honestly some of the best I have had. I loved the broiled top and it was super cheesy. The wrap was also very good with steak and shrimp. I would definitely order that again. There are lots of options on the menu even for the non seafood loving people. Service was a little slow that day but very friendly. All sorts of seating options including an outdoor patio. Valet parking and that day are valet attendant was very nice. Reminded us to grab our cell phones - we did - and parked us close to the building since we had a baby with us and even cracked a window.
