I ordered the Sunrise Burger, subbing hot honey for the mayo and oh-mah-gawsh that was an excellent decision. (The burgers are a little on the smaller side, but I found it to be the perfect size.) I told my husband that the onion rings were some of the best I've ever had. Kyle was our server, and he was incredible--attentive despite being a little overwhelmed. Admittedly i don't go down to the Oceanfront often; at least not often enough to know when new things pop up. So when one of the Homies told me about this place I was all in because - burgers - what's not to love. Barrel 17 did not disappoint; when i got there i realized quickly i was the last to know because it was busy. We had about a 10 minute wait to be seated but that was cut short by option to sit at the bar. The bartender was working like she had six arms. It was non stop; attentive, taking orders, making drinks, checking back with others, she was truly impressive. The places was jumping; it was busy, casual and didn't slow down from the time we arrived until we left. Parking is challenging, there's a small lot beside the restaurant and a small lot behind it so if you can car pool you'll benefit yourselves. Now on to the star of the show - the food! The only knock I had was portion size. In a big guy with an even bigger appetite and when i left there i could've eaten my whole meal over again lol. But that's also because it was delicious. I got the mac n cheese starter, the Beast Burger, tater tots , and the biggest slice of chocolate cake I've ever had. Literally the biggest slice of cake ever- twice the size of my burger. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, so we decided to grab a margarita at the bar while waiting for our table a relaxing way to kick off the day. Once seated, we started with a couple of apps. The nachos with Wagyu beef are a personal favorite simple, flavorful, and consistently satisfying. Definitely one of my go-to starters here. We also tried the two cheese baked mac & cheese, which was pretty good creamy, warm, and comforting. For my main dish, I went with the Barrel 17 Burger -- a true winner every time. Made with Wagyu beef and topped with their signature barrel sauce, it's hands-down one of the best burgers around. I added a side of onion rings and used that same barrel sauce for dipping. Perfection. The only downside this visit was the slow service. It was a little busy, so I understand the pressure, but it seemed like they may have been understaffed. Our server was kind and doing their best, but the wait between drinks, apps, and mains was definitely noticeable. Still, Barrel 17 remains one of my favorite spots for burgers and chill bites. My friend and I decided to grab a bite to eat at Barrel 17 since their burgers are all the rave. We arrived a little before 6pm on a Saturday and since there was a small wait, we grabbed a drink at the bar until our table was ready. Since Happy Hour was going on until 6pm, we were hoping our drinks were included in Happy Hour but the Spicy Margarita that I chose unfortunately wasn't. We were able to be seated after about 10 minutes and were quickly greeted by our server. My friend mentioned how good the Wagyu Nachos were so we started with those and the 2-Cheese Baked Mac n' Cheese. The Beast Burger sounded amazing, it consisted of wagyu beef, elk, wild boar and bison with Swiss cheese and a garlic aioli so I decided on that. I also added bacon to mine as well. My friend ordered the Barrel Burger. The Wagyu Nachos were amazing! The Wagyu beef was seasoned perfectly and paired well with the queso and nachos. The Mac 'n Cheese was pretty good but it was very cheesy and could've used a bit more flavor. Unfortunately, when we received our burgers, our orders were completely wrong. Not only did the server give my friend The Beast (what I ordered) but it included veggies and no bacon. I was given my friend's burger, the Barrel, without veggies and bacon. I'm not sure if the server wrote our order wrong or if the cooks read it wrong. Either way, our server let us keep the burgers while she corrected the issue with the cooks. Once our server brought out our new burgers, they were finally correct. My burger was very good, especially when I added the Barrel sauce (definitely get the Barrel sauce)! My friend enjoyed her burger as well but she had to remind them of her onion rings, which our server had forgotten. Overall, I can definitely understand why this place is popular because the burgers are outstanding and I might be back if I'm in the area but be sure to check your order to be sure it's correct. read more

Decided to grab some burger & drinks during a weeknight, when there was finally no line! Promptly got seated and ordered a mango cider, golden ale, Wagyu Patty Melt + Pepper burger. Wish the beer list was a big longer, but gosh so many good burgers to try. The Pepper was definitely spicy and the Patty Melt blew me away! Probably the best one I've ever had. In town for our daughters track meet, we decided on a whim to swing by Barrel 17 for something to eat. I got the specialty burger of the night, The Vibe Burger - cooked perfectly medium, with caramelized onions and fried mozzarella on top. It was delicious. I got a side of onion rings that were good as well and casually dipped them in their burger sauce. . Being greedy, I also ordered the Wagyu meatballs & fried mozzarella. From what I tasted, it was good, but I was so full off the burger that I couldn't enjoy it like I should've, nor could I come remotely close to finishing my meal. My daughter got chicken tenders & fries that she liked a lot, and my Wife got a steak salad that she raved about, not only because it was cooked at the perfect temperature, but because it came with so much steak, and was so filling. That on top of really good service from the bartender, who was attentive to our needs despite the crowd - they were very busy - I just didn't feel it because everyone from the wait staff, to the cooks, to the bartenders seemed to be working in unison. I arrived here with my sons at 6:38pm on a Sunday evening with my sons, while visiting the area. I found them on Yelp. The main reason why I chose them is because they had wings that were affordable and looked good. We were able to choose our seat from what was available. There are 4 TVs present, two at the bar and two on the other wall. They do have an area for kids to play. The atmosphere is very casual as the staff were wearing casual clothes. The establishment isn't very large with about 13 tables and bar seating. there is adequate spacing between the tables. Our order was placed at 6:45pm. One of my boys got chicken tenders and fries while the other got a cheeseburger and fries. I got teriyaki bbq wings to start. At 6:55pm, I ordered my meal. I got the patty melt without the garlic mayo and sweet potatoes fries. The first set of food came at 6:59pm, which was the wings and the kid's food. They enjoyed their food. The wings were crispy and delicious. I did notice that majority of the wings didn't have sauce on one side of them. However, there was a pool of sauce at the bottom of the container when the wings were finished. I really enjoyed them. I received my patty melt and sweet potato fries at 7:20pm. The fries came out with a sweet sauce (vanilla, Carmel, bourbon, and honey). I feel the honey was overpowering the other flavors, which I didn't like. The fries tasted fine by themselves. I have mixed feelings about the patty melt. It wasn't nasty but wasn't the best I ever had. I'd probably try a different burger, if I return. Our waiter was Kyle. I overheard him tell another table, but he didn't tell us that when he sat us or began serving us. Overall, good experience. I would return. I observed great team work with the staff regarding seating guest and running out food. It stayed consistent with guest. As guest left, more came. It was never completely full, however. They were short staffed in the kitchen and in the front end. And their lunch crowd was high for the middle of the week in a local neighborhood. Craft has moved to another location on Shore Drive. As you can tell from my previous reviews that this has not been my favorite spot. I usually like the food, great location and love the bar and vibe. But the customer service is usually lacking. It's only fair that I update because I went in last night (Sunday) and it was busy. I didn't have high hopes. We sat right at the bar and Brewer took care of us. We had water and drinks immediately. We ordered food and it did take awhile to get the food but Brewer was on it!! He gave us a small portion of nachos for waiting so long. Perfection! I got the grilled cheese and brussel sprouts and my friend got just a regular ole basic burger with fries. Everything was delicious and her burger was perfectly cooked. A stomach ache & 2.5 hours of my life I can't get back.... This poor staff. We were greeted with "it's gonna be at least 30 minutes" just after 8pm on a non holiday Monday. There were at least 3 open & dirty tables. We observed 3 FOH staff in a room that seats around 60 guests (& a patio with tables). The couple that walked in immediately after us discussed for a minute and left. It seemed like that was what the staff wanted- for people to just go away. I'm not sure why else you'd greet people that way. Being from out of town, as many of your patrons probably are, we heard good things and were excited to try Barrel17. In fact, we looked forward to it all day. I looked at the clock when I sat down to wait: 8:09pm. Around 8:30, we timidly approached 3 newly opened spots at the bar. Perhaps that would be a relief to the over extended staff- us coming to them. Instead, the bar top remained filled with dirty dishes and not wiped down for several minutes. I got up and got my own white towel to wipe down our spot sometime after she took an appetizer order. I get it- "slammed," "never seen it this bad," "this is so bad." --these were all phrases from our bartenders mouth the entire time we were there. She was right. It took about 45 minutes for some friend pickles and pimento to arrive. With one ranch. One ranch for a basket of fried items. Being thankful we had something after being out walking all day, we quickly dug in. Do yourself a favor and skip this app! She asked us if we wanted more food as she stood at the computer to simultaneously ring it in versus taking the order with us and walking over to ring it in. Not being familiar with your service standards, it seems a little obnoxious to shout your order to someone, but here we are. Relieved (again) to have entrees working, we had the next hour to observe nothing coming out of the kitchen window. People were closing out, staff was eating, & even getting cut while we waited more than an hour for the entrees. Having ignored the red flags from the start, we wanted to see this sh** storm through. It was a stressful and scary movie we got a front row seat to. At least we had iced tea to keep us hydrated right? Wrong. She ran out of unsweetened tea on our first cups. I was given a partial cup and she said she'd brew more. No such luck. After the salty app, I was desperate. I asked for sweet or really anything she had. It was too sweet (and it isn't really what I wanted) so I got a water, finally. Those iced teas were still on the check... The staff stood staring at the 2 lone kitchen guys just praying for anything to come up. Based on what I saw, there was one togo order, a four top, and our 3 top still (STILL) waiting on food. It's 9:35 now. In her defense, she never lied that it was going to be a wait! Our food comes up one by one, she auctions it off to us. My HAWAIIAN burger was missing the pineapple. She asked for it on the side a few moments later. The other entrees hit, we feverishly dig in. I had a side of Mac and cheese that never came out. She confirmed that she'd rang it in and shouted to the kitchen "CANCEL THE MAC. YOU OBVIOUSLY NEVER MADE IT." It was true, we didn't want to wait a second longer and they couldn't execute one non modified ticket at that point. There was an employee sitting at the bar this whole time. The bartender shared her frustration with him and he went back to seemingly help for one ticket. Then took his place back at the bar and ordered his own food. This was much more a local hang out than a place vying for new business. They couldn't handle the business they had. Instead of damage control, all 3 FOH staff gathered at the window in constant group prayer that food would be made. For most of our visit. Granted, the 3 souls there shouldn't be expected to act as managers and wait on the tables, but geez. She could've small talked a little to take our mind off the 2 hour wait. My goal here is to alert the OWNER that you have BIG ISSUES. You need more staff and functional staff. Let me reiterate the NON HOLIDAY MONDAY night where this place was in actual flames, yall. read more

Wow - what a hidden gem! My fiancee lives nearby and has been telling me this is a great burger place (with more than just that) for a while so today I snuck over on my telework lunch break with my soon to be mother-in-law for lunch. We were impressed - I was a bit worried bc she doesn't eat red meat (I know who goes to a burger bar then?!?) but we found tons of items on the menu for everyone and plan to come back on a double-date with our fellas soon! Our server was so friendly and took excellent care of us. We asked probably a dozen questions on the menu and he easily answered all of them, he was very patient with us. My mother-in-law went with the buffalo chicken wrap menu the buffalo on her grilled chicken and it was VERY good. Loaded with greens, delicious blue cheese and tomato and came with fresh-made kale chips. I got the fried pimento cheese balls and pickles as an app and it was delicious and huge. You get four huge pimento cheese balls breaded and fried with a side of ranch dipping sauce. Very heavy and decadent but if you love pimento cheese, you'll love this. For my meal I got the Spicy Thai Salad which was mixed veggies including brussel sprouts, red onion, tomato, greens, and a sweet ginger dressing with added tuna for $6. We saw a table beside us order hummus, chili, burgers and avocado toast and it all looked amazing. I don't eat a ton of red meat but I do love a good burger every couple weeks - they have a huge selection of some seriously delicious-sounding burgers so I'm going to be sure to come back and try one of these babies out! It's much larger inside than I expected and they had some specials, happy hour drinks, and dessert on the wall. Everything is made fresh in-house from what I can tell and it was really great. Parking lot is small, the inside is small and dark but cozy. The menu is small which I appreciate because it does not give me anxiety trying rid figure out what to order. We came here around 1pm on a Saturday in August and it wasn't packed and wasn't busy. The waitress I couldn't catch her name but she was friendly and the only way to describe her was she looks like Tori Spelling (which of course is a compliment). The food was hot and delicious. The burgers were small and I was worried because they were so small it wouldn't fill me up ,or my teenage daughter, up but I was 100% wrong the burgers packed a lunch even though small.
