This review is for the venue itself for shows. I came here to watch a hardcore show and the place did not disappoint! I almost didn't go because 1) I dread going to the oceanfront. 2)parking & paying for parking I could go on but let's just get straight to the likes! This has to be the most immaculate, clean venue I have EVER seen a hardcore show in my entire life! I'm not even mad. If you have ever been to a hardcore show, they are typically held at the most dirtiest, roughest parts of town in whatever city or state they're performing. Well, the Bunker was great and especially for being there for my first time ever. They have a bar and dining area but in the back area is the stage and a wall dividing the dining area from the music venue side. So if you're just coming in to dine, you can probably have a conversation and still hear each other. It's a good size back there and they have the glass overhead garage doors which they had open that night so it doesn't get stuffy and if by chance it gets funky. I think people today may have better hygiene than the kids back then in the 90s at shows because it did not reek of b.o. thank goodness! The size of the venue is spot on, not too big, not too small. I would definitely come back for a show if a band I like plays here again. But if it's in the summer season I might have to reconsider since everyone knows the oceanfront gets crowded and parking is hellacious! You can pay to park right across the street if spots are available. It was a good size crowd that night but parking wasn't difficult. The great thing is since it's on 21st you are only a block away to exit back onto the highway from there! Tickets are sold on eventbrite. So, I can only remember 3 of the 4 I got for the flight, which was the Peach IPA, Razz Tart Mofo and the Guava Passion Fruit Cider. The Cider was the best out of them all. But the Razz Tart was pretty good, too. For food, I got the She-Crab soup and the Blackened Tuna tacos, with the elote pasta. The soup was almost more like a dip, it was so thick. It had good flavor, though, and the temperature was perfect. The tacos were just ok for me. They definitely don't skimp on the tuna. But I honestly think it was too much, as it was a really thick piece, instead of something sliced thin or cubed. So it wasn't may favorite. However, the elote pasta was really good. When I think of elote, I think of corn. But this had nothing to do with corn. It was a cold pasta with some sort of seasoning. I liked it. SO, yeah, i would recommend this place. read more

The chicken tacos were unreal - breaded chicken tenders with honey chipotle sauce, slaw, and some awesome Mexican spiced pasta salad. We were there on a week night, and ended up playing trivia with some cool Ohio travelers for the evening. The place was packed with trivia players, and locals. The Bunker has many flavors and styles of beer to choose from and the atmosphere was very nice. The bartender and servers were prompt and polite, and their merch was well done - and there is plenty of it. We didn't order food, but many folks had plates at their tables and they were cleared, not many leftovers noticed during my trips in and out of the bar. Overall, I'd give this place 6 stars if I could, we visited The Bunker the following night as well, both visits were stellar for us. read more

Our bil was $81 b4 tax. We had an appetizer, two entrées , one flight of beers, one seal , a tea and a sprite. Service was quick. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Food was hot & delicious. One negative there were small gnats flying around. Just a few near our table but I also saw someone else swatting at something which I assumed was a gnat. We are in town for w softball tournament and wanted to head towards the beach for dinner. Yelp helped us find a brewpub. Parking was on the street close by to the restaurant. The 4 of us, were greeting right away and sat in a booth. I'd rather had a table since it was Tony and the girls along with me for the evening. Plenty of space inside and looked a bit rustic. Plenty of beers to choose from including Porters, Stouts, IPAs, and Sours. You can buy 4 packs as well. I choose a Sour, Raspberry and Lemon. For appetizer, we got fried pickles. They were slices with a good aioli sauce. Bella and I got the Chicken Tacos. They were a bit more spicy than expected by the menu. The bacon and chicken were cooked very well. Chicken lightly breaded. Tony and Liv got burgers. Liv was a bit overcooked for medium while Tonys was spot on. Wedge fries were very good. The question as always is would we come back. Gose/sour and also tried the creamier sour that was more berry forward and slightly more tart called the purple flower, I think. We ended up stopping in on a super eventful night when they hosted wrestling, and they had a relatively large turnout for the event. We had to leave a little earlier so we could only stay for 1 beer. Our server, Trudy, was great and helpful in trying to pick the perfect brew. She was attentive all night, but never intrusive. The kind of service people used to give pre-covid. I am not a vegetarian, but I decided to go veg to eat something lighter. Had the sweet potato tacos and they were great. I thought they might be too sweet, but they were perfect and had a nice kick. The side was a garlicky squash medley which was tasty and I ended up adding it on top of the tabouleh salad instead of dressing. Again, fresh and top notch. I really enjoyed the beers here this afternoon and the owner and everyone are just awesome. My one and only issue is that I HATE different prices for cash or credit cards. To me this is an insult and I do not appreciate it as a customer. I do not care if every single restaurant and bar in Virginia Beach charge this fee. It absolutely pisses me off as a customer and it just sucks and it gives me a very poor opinion of small business. The fam and I came in here for an early dinner! It was the highest rated restaurant in proximity to the hotel we were at. My mom got the beer battered fish tacos and my sister got the bunker burger, I didn't get a chance to try them but they said both were phenomenal. Crab Cake Sandwich: I got this and was pleasantly surprised with it! The crab cake itself was super moist and flavorful. I just wish they put more of the remoulade sauce on it initially. Other than that it was a stand out sandwich. The service and ambiance were both great. They really go all out with the bunker theme and it makes for a unique dining experience. We walked here for lunch one day while visiting Virginia beach and really enjoyed our experience! The restaurant was close to our hotel and had a lively but open feel to it upon walking in. There was plenty of seating at the bar and a nice divide if you were coming in to eat with your family/wanted a larger table. They have a great range of food options on the menu outside of what most pub style restaurants sell, which was refreshing. To start off we had the shrimp egg rolls, they were pretty tasty but had a little more rice/beans than shrimp and really needed the sauce that came along with them. My husband had the crab cake sandwich that was made with hefty chunks of actual fresh crab meat and tasted great! I had the hot chicken sandwich which was juicy and had a nice kick to it without being drowned in sauce or unbearably spicy.
