Everyone inside is super nice (that included staff and customers), they're supporting people who serve our country and communities, the beer is local and delicious, they allow dogs, and the ambience is a delight. I came here with a group during a work trip and we had a great time. The bartenders/brewers really know their stuff and can talk at length about the beers they have on tap. We stopped by this brewery for the very first time, and we actually live less than two miles away -- so we were hoping it might become one of our regular local spots. Unfortunately, that won't be happening. My girlfriend asked for a couple one-ounce tasters to decide what she wanted. I didn't even ask for a taste myself. After just two of those tiny pours, the bartender told us we'd have to "start paying for a flight" if we wanted to try anything else -- even though their flights are clearly listed on the menu as four-ounce pours, not one-ounce samples. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive and stingy, especially for first-time guests trying to get a sense of the beers. Instead of making us feel welcome, it came off like they were more concerned with nickeling and diming than building relationships with locals. We actually own a local publication that reviews nearby establishments, and after this kind of experience, we can't see ourselves giving this place a positive feature. It's disappointing when a business forgets that good hospitality goes a long way -- especially with neighbors who genuinely wanted to support them. There are plenty of breweries in the area that treat people better. We'll be sticking with those. read more

One of the cutest little breweries, they have an amazing patch wall and lots of donated history from VBPD and fire stations. Definitely make sure you check out the themed bathrooms! They have a HUGE seltzer selection that they make to order! My favorite beers on tap are currently the Station 12 (malty red) and Stache strong (east coast ipa). The owner and all the staff are super knowledgeable and welcoming you almost feel like family. On Tuesday the taco place next door does buy one get one street tacos, what could be better than tacos and beer! Definitely adding this to my list of favorites. read more

Attended USCG retirement reception, the venue was opened for a private affair, the staff was super friendly, they assisted with helping us get everything set-up. If you're looking for a space to host an event, this is a nice set-up with plenty of of parking. The venue covers two suites with a bar on both sides. They do not provide food but they do allow you to have your event catered. I'll have to checkout the vibes by visiting one evening...I'll let you know after I return. read more

We came here one Saturday evening for a private birthday party. There are 2 separate entrances that are connected through the bar. They had an array of craft beers available. I love how they show full support for first responders, it is evident with all the decor displayed (helmets, pictures, etc). They are canine friendly, kids friendly, and have plenty of outdoor space as well. We don't go to Oceana as much but it seemed like a great location for this brewery. The parking lot is a bit confusing when trying to leave. There is an awesome Mexican restaurant next door for food. read more

Been here quite a few times now to try all the beer and so far I love it! The white line and badge hunny are my favorites but they constantly release a new beer rotator each week. They collect local art and police related objects by donation which is pretty neat. My favorite thing is that they do the dog of the day which is obviously amazing. They support police, fire, ems, military and teachers which I support so shout out to them! They have a board where you buy a drink for one of the above mentioned and when they come in, there's a free beer waiting. I think that's amazing. Of course this place is getting a bad rep due to everything going on in the world (like the other BS review Kate aka Karen made because she's assuming of all police related places are racist) but they're still standing strong and they should be supported just as well. Nice spot tucked away in a shopping center less than five minutes from our campsite at Virginia Beach KOA. They are extremely dog friendly with bowls and fresh water available and their new green space. Good variety of beers on tap, something for everyone in your party. Thin Brew Line is owned by a retired police officer and by purchasing several of their beers, portions of sales are donated to help support local organizations. For instance, the White Line supports volunteer rescue squads, their dry Irish stout supports the VA Beach Police Foundation, and their Kolsch-9 supports the Retired Police Canine Foundation. read more

I'm excited for this place to get a nice spot after the four years it's been held back. I would have given them the extra star if they would've went a bit harder on the decor. The environment makes the real feel of the place. Boost it up with a background story or a reason on the wall, maybe a mural. Not just pictures andaa couple of things that people have made. Also, the build isn't the best for forming lines for beer when it's busy by what I can see. It's s nice setup generally but you need to plan for s crowd. I'm hoping they can expand when they're able. The beers are clean. I've had the dIsPAtch (I'm a sucker for an IPA), the Badge Hunny which may be a play on words with the Honey Badger, and the An Garda Siochãna Nitro. I'm happy that most of the money for the beers go to some association. I expect this place to do alot with charities and local events. The jail cell looking bathrooms are cool and the layout isn't that bad. I hope this place sticks around regardless. Best of luck to them! read more

Great local brewery. Owned and operated by local hero's. Is very quaint and inviting. The beer menu changes frequently and have yet to have beer that I didn't enjoy. Staff is so friendly and polite. Would give 6 stars if I could. They don't serve food, but it's next door to Jessie's and that place is great. I wouldn't recommend bringing Fudruckers takeout because their burgers are terrible (see my Fudruckers review to understand that comment). read more

While travelings from Texas for family business, I was able to take some time and visit this brewer. This was the fourth brewery I visited. I have been brewing for over ten years and when I travel, I do my best to stop into the local breweries. One the name caught my attention. My family is in law enforcement and I am a paramedic. It was nice and I was felt welcomed. The beer was great and staff friendly. Set up had it's own uniqueness. It is nice to see a brewery dedicated to those who serve and served. Really cool spot! Love how they support all of our first responders. Their beer was good, I had the Stache Strong IPA and their Tee Off Farmhouse Ale, both tasty! What I found really unusual/cool was how each bathroom was themed! Two of them looked like jail cells, the other two looked like locker rooms for local first responders- an unexpected touch! What a pleasant surprise! We were camping at the KOA about 5 minutes away. We were looking for a close brewery that we hadn't previously supported. With a line of law enforcement personnel in my family, I was happy to support a brewery owned by a retired police officer. The brewery features inside seating in the taproom and outside seating on the porch or in the grass courtyard. Needless to say they are very dog friendly. After sampling some of the beer, I decided on the hefeweizen. It was a nice light beer, perfect for a late summer day. After starting a tab, we found out they take $1 off for educators. We were happy to hear this! The brewery also features a board of beers that have been purchased for specific law enforcement officers. That is a great way to pay it forward. I would have no problem purchasing beers for our local heroes. Staff all were wearing masks and were consistently cleaning tables. Having a Mexican food truck right outside the door allowed us to purchase dinner. The Mexican restaurant will be opening in the space next to TBL soon. Their Mexican street corn was AMAZING! This brewery is new but I tried the sampler and found only 1 of my beers to be really good. It's the fire engine Scottish ale and it was very tasty and light. The stout which is my favorite to drink almost anywhere was not good it tasted like old coffee grounds. I'll go back and get the fire engine but that may be it. If you are looking to be welcomed like family and enjoy amazing craft beers at a reasonable price this is the spot for you. All the staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
