Nice place to hang out and catch up with friends or your significant other. My husband and I went for a beer and enjoyed the casual, relaxing atmosphere. He wished his was colder but mine was just right. The bartender was very nice and helpful. He even offered two samples when I asked him which beers he recommends based on what I normally drink (Blue Moon and Landshark). There was a food truck on the premises but we didn't try them. Haven't been back since it was re-named! Plenty of room to allow kids and dogs to roam free. They allow our furbabies in the brewery! Had a flight and I thoroughly enjoyed them all! I especially liked the beenut butter beer! They have scheduled food trucks available as well. You can street park or turn in where the owl painting is and park in their parking lot as well. read more

What a great treasure within the area. The beers are rock solid, atmosphere is just A+. One of their staple beers is the beenut beer and damn it's a hard beer to quit. It has a solid profile at 7% and just tastes delicious. I could probably drink it all night long (then take a nap). We went out here as a date night and we only learned about this place because we tried their beer at Fin and Tonic. I love being able to support local breweries and am just glad this place is relatively close by. I look forward to stopping back again and highly recommend you do too! This is such a neat little brewery. They had a lot of good beers in a friendly, comfortable space. I SO enjoyed the Hubs Beenut Butter brown ale. It's possibly the perfect expression of a hyper-local specialty brew. A peanut-butter ale from the peanut capital of the world. It has a wonderful, smooth peanut flavor, without heaviness, and such wonderful drinkablity. A definite winner, and must try on your visit. They don't have food, but they do have some local takeout menus available in the brewery, and you're welcome to bring food in. There is a great soul food restaurant directly across the street that we really enjoyed with the beer. They also have a nice outdoor space that you can enjoy. Suffolk is a little far afield for me, as we live in Ocean View, but decided to give them a try on the way home from a trip to Charlotte, and very glad we did. If you enjoy great local beer and live in western Tidewater, this needs to be a regular stop. We will definitely be back when in the area! read more

We've been coming to this spot even when it was brick & mortar. It's a good local brewery and nice to go to close to home for a beer. This was actually our first time to visit when they changed the name/ownership to nansemond brewing station. The space is still nice and big and they have a good selection beers on tap. I actually really like 2 beers they had and I'm usually not a beer drinker. I love the fact that they have events and local artists come so there is always something happening. There is also a good selection of restaurants close by that you can order from and they will walk over to deliver it to you. We met Scott who was helping us select the beers and gave us samples. He was super friendly and definitely had that southern hospitality personality. When your in Suffolk, be sure to check out this brewing station for a cold beer, you won't be disappointed. Was in the area for dinner but the restaurant we intended to try was closed. Saw this place and the food truck outside and decided to give it a try. How lucky for us! We had a group of six, trying different beers and sandwiches (from the truck). These sandwiches and fries are gourmet and delicious! The beers on tap were also really good. We stopped in on a Monday and stumbled onto bingo night. It was free with brewing station swag as prizes. Pat, the bingo caller, was a hoot! Great time was had by our group! Decent beer and fine service but they add tax to the beers so it became a expensive beer. Prices are already 7.5/8 dollars a beer then tax on top which 99% of breweries add the tax into the price so I could say watch out for that. read more

We really lucked out. First time there and there was a bluegrass jam going on. Had a flight of four beers and really loved the Hefeweizen. Pleasant gal behind the bar. This particular day had a food truck with fantastic gyros. *** Dog friendly inside! *** Will definitely be back, and will try to catch the blue grass jam again, on the first Sunday of the month. I was grabbing food nearby and noticed this new brewery. I love discovering new breweries so I decided to check it out. As they had just opened for the day, I had the place all to myself, which was nice because I had a great chat with the owner. The owner told me that this brewery used to called "Brick & Mortar" which I had heard of, but didn't get a chance to visit. They hired a new brewer and changed their name to Nansemond Brewing Station. Owner was really friendly: he gave me a rundown about their brewery and the different beers they had on tap for the day. Their list was on the short side at the time of my visit (7 beers) but he did say more will be added soon. I sampled a few and I really did enjoy what I tasted (loved the Firefly IPA)! I would much rather a short list of tasty options then a longer one of so-so options. There are several restaurants within walking distance, including one right next door, so bring food (which I did) to eat with your drink(s). I use to love this place!! But the owners of this place own another brewery and our concentrating their resources there. Things here that should have been repaired ages ago are still not fixed. Its sad because the people here are great and their beer is also pretty good. But with all of the brewery option out there why would I come sit and get a free splinter in my butt or arm due to poor condition's. Hopefully things change, well I have been saying that for greater than eight months and still nothing gets fixed. But they have constant huge parties at the other brewery, SAD really. read more
