Nice place to hang out and catch up with friends or your significant other. My husband and I went for a beer and enjoyed the casual, relaxing atmosphere. He wished his was colder but mine was just right. The bartender was very nice and helpful. He even offered two samples when I asked him which beers he recommends based on what I normally drink (Blue Moon and Landshark). There was a food truck on the premises but we didn't try them. Maybe next time. It's in a great location and parking was easy, on premises. Check them out when in Downtown Suffolk!

Another 4.5 star review! Awesome beer selection. We happened to stop in before another event close by. There was live music which is a plus and a food truck. Chill vibe. We'd definitely go back

Haven't been back since it was re-named! Plenty of room to allow kids and dogs to roam free. They allow our furbabies in the brewery! Had a flight and I thoroughly enjoyed them all! I especially liked the beenut butter beer! They have scheduled food trucks available as well. You can street park or turn in where the owl painting is and park in their parking lot as well.

This is such a neat little brewery. They had a lot of good beers in a friendly, comfortable space. I SO enjoyed the Hubs Beenut Butter brown ale. It's possibly the perfect expression of a hyper-local specialty brew. A peanut-butter ale from the peanut capital of the world. It has a wonderful, smooth peanut flavor, without heaviness, and such wonderful drinkablity. A definite winner, and must try on your visit. They don't have food, but they do have some local takeout menus available in the brewery, and you're welcome to bring food in. There is a great soul food restaurant directly across the street that we really enjoyed with the beer. They also have a nice outdoor space that you can enjoy. Suffolk is a little far afield for me, as we live in Ocean View, but decided to give them a try on the way home from a trip to Charlotte, and very glad we did. If you enjoy great local beer and live in western Tidewater, this needs to be a regular stop. We will definitely be back when in the area!

We've been coming to this spot even when it was brick & mortar. It's a good local brewery and nice to go to close to home for a beer. This was actually our first time to visit when they changed the name/ownership to nansemond brewing station. The space is still nice and big and they have a good selection beers on tap. I actually really like 2 beers they had and I'm usually not a beer drinker. I love the fact that they have events and local artists come so there is always something happening. There is also a good selection of restaurants close by that you can order from and they will walk over to deliver it to you. We met Scott who was helping us select the beers and gave us samples. He was super friendly and definitely had that southern hospitality personality. When your in Suffolk, be sure to check out this brewing station for a cold beer, you won't be disappointed. The friendly staff alone is worth coming back for. We will be back for sure. Support local businesses!!

I was grabbing food nearby and noticed this new brewery. I love discovering new breweries so I decided to check it out. As they had just opened for the day, I had the place all to myself, which was nice because I had a great chat with the owner. The owner told me that this brewery used to called "Brick & Mortar" which I had heard of, but didn't get a chance to visit. They hired a new brewer and changed their name to Nansemond Brewing Station. Owner was really friendly: he gave me a rundown about their brewery and the different beers they had on tap for the day. Their list was on the short side at the time of my visit (7 beers) but he did say more will be added soon. I sampled a few and I really did enjoy what I tasted (loved the Firefly IPA)! I would much rather a short list of tasty options then a longer one of so-so options. There are several restaurants within walking distance, including one right next door, so bring food (which I did) to eat with your drink(s). Looking forward to coming back and bringing friends!

    Wide selection of craft beers!

Nansemond is one of the few gems in downtown Suffolk. Cozy atmosphere, great staff and most importantly awesome brews. Their beenut beer is a must try especially for peanut fans. They also have live music and food trucks every Friday-Sunday for a complete experience.

If you're curious about when they're open, they're currently opened on Wed-Saturday (assuming I read the correct sign). You can tell they're really feeling their way through all this but they are definitely setup for success. I like the patio area outside as it's covered and has 4 patio benches for you to enjoy. Inside they have seating for almost 50 total (to include the bar) and a foosball table in the back corner. As of this current moment, they don't offer flights or fill growlers, but that's ok. I'm sure it's probably a glassware thing for now. All good though, having been only open for a week the most important part would be of course... the beer. For beer I had the the Brown Ale and my wife has the Saison. They were both very solid, clean, tasting beers. We really don't need any of the crazy flairs, but am glad they have solid beers to work with for now. This tells me that they're on the right path towards building a good foundation. Overall, the atmosphere was great, beer was solid, and we had a good time. We will definitely be back! Check 'em out! Support the beer scene in the local area! It's the kind of place that works for almost any occasion, whether you're hanging out with a big group, grabbing a drink solo, or meeting up for a casual date. There are lots of different seating options, which makes the space feel flexible and comfortable. They also host live music and trivia on certain nights, which adds to the overall vibe. I went on a Sunday around 6:30pm. It wasn't crowded, but there was still a good crowd if that makes sense. It felt lively without being packed. Their drink selection is great. They have plenty of beer options, but also serve wine, seltzers, cider, and non alcoholic drinks, which I really appreciate since I'm not much of a beer person. I ordered the frozen rosé slushie in wild raspberry and it was strong. I also had the black cherry fruited cider, which was delicious. For food, I ordered The Hive pizza and it was excellent. The crust was thin-ish and tasted homemade, and the ingredients were clearly high quality. No complaints at all. Service was friendly and efficient, and the bathrooms were very clean. Random detail, but the toilet paper was noticeably better quality than what you usually find in bars. It was not plush, but strong and not paper thin. Overall, I loved the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and the service. I will definitely be back.

Elation Brewing has a huge indoor and outdoor area with plenty of different styles of seating! It is family and pet friendly, and they have fire pits for cooler days/nights. I love that the inside still has huge open windows to allow that fresh cross breeze in. They are known for their pizza, but they also have a variety of other things to eat on their menu. There is also a number of different beers, seltzers, IPAs, and wines to try. Tonight I had the White Cranberry Sangria from Water's Edge Winery (also in Norfolk) and the Downeast Black Cherry! While both were really good, I prefer the Downeast because it was sparkling and just more refreshing. We also had the bacon Gouda pizza and the Hive pizza with hot honey. Both were great! I had never had a hot honey pizza but would definitely get it again! Tonight was trivia night and they had a good size crowd come out. I like that you could actually hear the questions despite so many people. A lot of times I can barely hear! Also inside the same place is Voyager Coffee. They're only open 7-4. I would love to give them a try. Oh and Elation does offer military discount but only on their to-go beers! The ONLY reason I did not give Elation five star is because I wish they had actual servers. You have to go up to the counter to order each time, and the lines get pretty long. Being able to order from the table, even if from a QR code where you could order and pay online would be a plus. Lastly, for such a large space, the parking lot is tiny. You'd either have to find street parking or there is additional parking at the CEO building on Colley.
