One of my favorite things to do when it's nice out is go to a brewery, restaurant, or park and sit outside! Tonight my sister took me to Elation Brewing, and I will absolutely be back! Elation Brewing has a huge indoor and outdoor area with plenty of different styles of seating! It is family and pet friendly, and they have fire pits for cooler days/nights. I love that the inside still has huge open windows to allow that fresh cross breeze in. They are known for their pizza, but they also have a variety of other things to eat on their menu. There is also a number of different beers, seltzers, IPAs, and wines to try. Tonight I had the White Cranberry Sangria from Water's Edge Winery (also in Norfolk) and the Downeast Black Cherry! While both were really good, I prefer the Downeast because it was sparkling and just more refreshing. We also had the bacon Gouda pizza and the Hive pizza with hot honey. Both were great! I had never had a hot honey pizza but would definitely get it again! Tonight was trivia night and they had a good size crowd come out. I like that you could actually hear the questions despite so many people. A lot of times I can barely hear! Also inside the same place is Voyager Coffee. They're only open 7-4. I would love to give them a try. Oh and Elation does offer military discount but only on their to-go beers! The ONLY reason I did not give Elation five star is because I wish they had actual servers. You have to go up to the counter to order each time, and the lines get pretty long. Being able to order from the table, even if from a QR code where you could order and pay online would be a plus. Lastly, for such a large space, the parking lot is tiny. You'd either have to find street parking or there is additional parking at the CEO building on Colley. read more

Elation Brewing has a fantastic atmosphere. The space is large and open with an airy indoor layout and plenty of outdoor seating. It's the kind of place that works for almost any occasion, whether you're hanging out with a big group, grabbing a drink solo, or meeting up for a casual date. There are lots of different seating options, which makes the space feel flexible and comfortable. They also host live music and trivia on certain nights, which adds to the overall vibe. I went on a Sunday around 6:30pm. It wasn't crowded, but there was still a good crowd if that makes sense. It felt lively without being packed. Their drink selection is great. They have plenty of beer options, but also serve wine, seltzers, cider, and non alcoholic drinks, which I really appreciate since I'm not much of a beer person. I ordered the frozen rosé slushie in wild raspberry and it was strong. I also had the black cherry fruited cider, which was delicious. For food, I ordered The Hive pizza and it was excellent. The crust was thin-ish and tasted homemade, and the ingredients were clearly high quality. No complaints at all. Service was friendly and efficient, and the bathrooms were very clean. Random detail, but the toilet paper was noticeably better quality than what you usually find in bars. It was not plush, but strong and not paper thin. I spent the afternoon working from Elation. It was rather quiet once the lunch crowd came and went, so I had no problem sitting at my table with my laptop and enjoying the peace. Great beers here and I enjoyed the Italian Pilsner which was served in a surprisingly unstable glass. Tall and thin, it would not take much at all to knock this over. Maybe this is the right glassware for a pilsner? I took extra care with it so it didn't topple. The pizzas looked and smelled great but I had other plans for dinner this evening. I finally made it out to Elation Brewing on a lively Saturday night after having it on my must-visit list for ages, and it did not disappoint! The place was absolutely poppin' and the energy was contagious. It's clear this spot is a go to for locals looking to unwind and enjoy good company. Right when we walked in, I appreciated how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was. I wasn't sure what to order, but they guided me through their impressive beer selection and suggested the Larchmont Lager, a medium bodied German style pilsner. It was crisp, refreshing, and hit all the right notes for a relaxing night out. What really sets Elation Brewing apart is the food. I was delighted to discover Chelsea Bakehouse located right inside, serving up some seriously delicious pizzas. I ordered the margarita pizza, and it was perfectly baked with a great crust and flavorful toppings. But that's not all, Elation also features their own Elated Kitchen with an extensive menu offering far more than just typical bar snacks. There's something for everyone here, making it an easy spot for groups or anyone with specific cravings. An unexpected bonus: Voyager Coffee is connected to the brewery! It was a surprise to see locals popping over for a quality cup of coffee. I'm definitely planning to come back for a daytime visit to check it out. After many years, I'm happy to see that Elation is still successful on North Colley Avenue. The rotating beers make finding something you enjoy and something new easy to please just about anyone. We arrived at Elation to celebrate a friend's promotion. Once, we parked and exited our vehicle an Elation employee said "Hey, you know you're parked in the handicap spot." to which we responded, "Yes, we know. We have a placard." He then asked "Which one of you is handicapped?" That question really caught off us guard. Who questions someone's disabilities? He then proceeded to walk into the building and closed the door on us. Essentially, ending the interaction. This interaction left us disappointed that we wouldn't be able to enjoy what looked to be a wonderful brewery, with great food and lots of people enjoying the atmosphere. Not all disabilities are visible. The placard on our vehicle is not one we or anyone else with a disability ever wanted. Editing to add the owner reached out immediately to address the situation and apologize. Thank you for your quick response to this situation! RUN from this place!!! LONG STRAND OF HAIR ON MY PIZZA!!! I am so disappointed writing this review. I wanted to have the best experience, but my friends and I were treated horribly. I ordered the white pizza and experienced eating long brown hair on my food. I have short darker hair, so I knew this was not my own. The horrible experience began with the manager though. Initially, I was told that a manager was not on site and that a refund could not be processed; only a gift card to return back and eat more of the hair filled pizza or to purchase "merch." I thought this was odd, but I obliged. Then the server returned again and asked if there was anything else she could do, like a remake order or a "drink on us." She promised that the remake would not have the hair this time so again I obliged. As I was waiting for the to-go remake order, a "manager" magically appeared and explained that since they were providing the remake, she would be taking the gift card back and proceeded to snatch the gift card off of the table. I was surprised by this as the first girl stated that the pizza would be complimentary for the inconvenience. When this was explained to the manager, she laughed in our faces and said " I cannot believe you all want a gift card and a free pizza." She was extremely rude and condescending and her lack of empathy for the situation spoke volumes. *For context, this establishment did nothing to make the experience right. She simply refunded the order since they obviously took the pizza back. Also, she did not actually refund me all of my money. So, I did not get to have dinner as planned. Bottom line, avoid this place with horrible customer service and hair on your food (pictures provided). Photos are of the pizza w/ hair attached to it. Again, my hair is short and much darker. A dog friendly spot for family and friends to come for some great pizza and beer. My group tried a few different types with myself enjoying the Hyland Park Hazy New England IPA. Very refreshing and paired well with the three personal pizzas we ordered. As a side we got the Caesar salad, but it was very underdressed with too many croutons that we were feeding them to the dog (lol). We enjoyed the live music from a violin trio as we ate and drank. As it was during the period between Christmas and New Years it was rather empty, but this was actually a good thing, as we didn't have to yell to hear each other. Great place to chill on a weekday. They have trivia night, as well as karaoke available for anyone who wants to sing their heart out. Their pizza is from Bakehouse at Chelsea, which I reviewed this bakery like five times by now because I LOVE their pastries. The pizza is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. No one can beat the sourdough crust. The food was amazing, and the vibes indoors are great. There is plenty of space for parties greater than ten. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is because I personally don't think their beer is the best. I recommend just doing take-out from here and drink your favorite beer at home. We tried one of their IPAs and did care for it so we got 2 hazy IPAs assuming they'd be ok and it was the absolute worst beer I have ever tasted in my life!!!! It tasted like dirty socks. It literally made me gag when I took a sip, and when I went asked for something else I was charged for yet another beer. Do NOT order s beer from here without trying it first! If you're a hazy IPA lover I'd highly recommend NOT trying this place or just sticking to water. My husband got a lager beer and he says it was good and smooth. Not a beer drinker so I'll take his word. We both got pizza that is cooked in a wood fire oven. Here's the breakdown: Arugula pizza with salami - very cheesy and the salami was quality meat. Pepperoni pizza - very cheesy and saucy. The Pepperoni used on this pizza was the small size kind so it had crispy edges. Very tasty! I thought the pizza was going to be small based on what the lady behind the counter was explaining but I think 2 people can eat off of 1. Definitely great read more

Amazing pizza and cold delicious beer could you ask for anything more? How about a beautiful outdoor area and large indoor tap room perfect for small groups or large groups! My husband and I found ourselves next door at the awesome coffee shop and being new to the area didn't realize that they were attached and decided to ditch our original lunch plans and grab lunch here as well as do a beer flight. I don't drink beer but the bartender was helpful in suggesting to my husband what beers he may like based on his preferences. He truly liked all the beers and is excited to go back and try some more. We saw that the pizza is made there from the Bakehouse at Chelsea and it is so good! All fresh ingredients, came out nice and hot. Seriously good crust, with just enough chew. I passed this brewery the last time I was in town, and knew I'd be stopping on my next trip. I went on a Sunday evening, so the taproom wasn't too crowded. I sat at the bar anyways, and had some great conversations and recommendations from Emelia (sp?, sorry!) and Mac. Both were knowledgeable in their beers, and nice to chat with. The pizza was good, and they had a good variety of other food and beer styles. I sampled most of their beers, and was impressed with the offerings - even sampling a gose that I didn't hate! Came here for some beer and cards recently with friends and enjoyed myself! The space was very large and had plenty of seating, which is always appreciated. A lot of the tables were reserved, but thankfully the reservations started later in the evening, so we just grabbed a table and started playing some cards. The beer wasn't bad! Elation is just awesome full circle. Been here a hand full of times and love it! Celebrated my son's 30th Birthday & everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We LOVED the ambiance!! The brewery is spacious and there was more than enough space for our party. It's dog friendly. No smoking on premises. Worked with David Pincus, event coordinator. Planning and execution was flawless. All I had to do was show up. An extra treat was that the Bakehouse At Elation was up and running so we were able to order piping hot pizza! They were churning the pizzas out!! I don't recall having to wait a long time for pizza. Fungi Bianci is our favorite pizza hands down! Any pizza with ricotta is ahead of the game in my book. I ordered several orders of nachos since they're shareable. I didn't get to try them, but people seemed to enjoy nibbling as they enjoyed great beer. Greatly disappointed in the pizza. Stopped in on a midday Saturday, looking for a good pizza and some beer. Beer was tasty, but the pizza was tastless. Poorly prepared, unattractive and burnt but some how under cooked (picture attached). We sat at the bar that had only three other patrons and never once were we asked how the pizza was or how we were doing.
