I tagged along with my best friend who had a work function there on a Friday night. Plenty of parking. Outside is huge with plenty of seating. The inside was live because it was karaoke night. There were plenty of beers to choose from. I forgot the name but I got a peach flavored beer which was really good. There was a Caribbean food truck there but they have different food trucks daily. I will definitely be back to try more beer!

Street parking available, plenty of games and area to enjoy either outside or inside. Perfect spot to hit up with some friends. Food trucks routinely outside for some great eats when needed! Inside is pretty quiet with some TVs to catch the sports. Good recommendations and a friendly staff that quickly gets you what you need!

Awesome lounge, great selection of cigars and craft beers, would definitely recommend this spot for your cigar destination!

Excellent brewery with specialty cigar store and huge outdoor area. I haven't met a beer here that I didn't like. Beer-tenders are knowledgeable and always indulge in a little banter while pouring brews. Weekends are easily the best days to enjoy their facilities. They have a couple pool tables, board games, live music and at least one food truck on site. I have even run into a marker's fair being held on site. Location is not far from the Virginia Zoo and Vibe district. My favorite brewery to visit when in Ghent area.

If I'm being honest, I have driven past Maker's Craft Brewery probably 20 times in the past couple of years. EVERY TIME I see it, I say I need to go visit and we finally did recently after a morning at the Zoo. I wish I had come sooner! We lucked out with a beautiful weekend and we arrived close to opening so we had our choice of outdoor seating. They do a great job of keeping the outdoor area open and inviting - plenty of adirondack chairs, benches, picnic tables with umbrellas and shaded space. I love getting fresh air at breweries (honestly, it makes the beer taste better!) and bonus if there's sun protection too. The interior is just as inviting with plenty of low and high-top seating. board games, arcade games, a pool table, super clean restrooms and, if it floats your boat, a huge, enclosed cigar bar. What a cool spot! There were at least 15 different beers on tap along with craft soda. I actually tried the cherry soda on this visit and was so surprised at how light it was! Most sodas are way too sweet for me. This was perfect. I like the offering of half pours as it usually allows me to try more options. On this visit, I tried a couple of their Oktoberfest offerings which were both delicious. There is a separate space for special events (on this date, they had a flower-arranging class happening) and they have a full calendar of things like yoga, live music, movie viewings and karaoke. Never a bad excuse to go have a few drinks and relax! Honestly, with the live music, good food and great weather, I was surprised on this visit that it wasn't busier. I will definitely return in the very near future!

I went here for an event. This location is a brewery and cigar lounge in one. There's plenty of indoor seating and a great outdoor space to enjoy. I don't drink alcohol so I got the black cherry soda and it was pretty good. I prefer my sodas to be sweeter but it was a good alternative to beer. The cashiers were very friendly and personable. There was a food truck serving Filipino food along with Hangry's VB. I ordered a quesadilla from Hangry's and it was good. I do wish they had an option to add guacamole on the side but I was satisfied with it overall.

There is some street parking nearby but a really big Brewery overall! Plenty of seating indoors and out and they have a humidor and cigar lounge. You can buy the cigars and take them outside to smoke as well. They will but it for you and give you matches. Friendly staff overall. We ordered a flight of beer: Raspberry Wheat - light raspberry flavor while still being light and refreshing. Braggot Honey Ale - this was my favorite. Slightly sweet with the honey and rely easy to drink. Great for a hot summer day. Ghost Pepper Stout - a little disappointed but still a good Stout overall. Not really spicy, there's a small hint of it throughout the Stout. ECKO Barrel Aged Porter - very smokey and a little heavy for summer but a great flavor and great pairing with cigars. We did also try the Ginger Lime Radler which was very flavorful. I would definitely recommend. Dog friendly inside and out. They had a food truck out front for food. Would recommend!

This brewery has both amazing beer and a beautiful space. They have a large outdoor courtyard, with lots of Adirondack chairs and benches to relax while having a pint. They have a very wide selection of beers. I really enjoyed their habanero and ghost pepper stouts in particular. They were very unique, not spicy per se, but with nice notes of the pepper's flavor as a contrast to the sweetness of the stout. Highly recommended!

I ended at Maker's chasing a specific food truck that I thought was going to be there but was not. My friend and I decided to stay and check out the brewery. It's a large and spacious place indoors and outdoors. Not being a beer drinker, I went to check out the food trucks that were there. There were several. I opted for the vegan food truck and my friend checked out one of the other trucks. We got our food and settled in at a table. Evidently, they have a changing array of food trucks. My friend ordered a flight of different beers and enjoyed every single one of them. There were a lot of people there (single, dating, married, married with children) and everyone was enjoying themselves. I had a great time. The staff was warm and friendly. I am not a beer drinker but will come again as the atmosphere, the people and the food trucks were all awesome.

Nice brewery - plenty of seating and tvs inside along with pool tables. Plenty of beer to choose from. Outside was really nice, too. Plenty of seating there, as well. Smoking sections for those who smoke, and dogs are welcome, too. A food truck was also on site for those looking for a bite to eat. Overall, great afternoon out. My husband and I both enjoyed our visit and would go again.

Plenty of parking. Awesome outdoor area! They have a cigar area in the inside as well! Beers are always good in my opinion. My go to beer is the habanero stout!! They offer online order for pick up for their beers! We came here this weekend for the Smoked Biscuit food truck. Never heard of them. No IG page that I know of. But I think they have a FB page. Order their special- the sun shine swine! it is smoked pork. Smoked pork belly. Pimento cheese. Sunny side eggs. Tomato jam. All on a sweet potato biscuit!!! Their smoked chicken pot pie is also phenomenal!

I was happy to find a brewery open, with a food truck, on a Wednesday night. Maker's impressed, with a large venue, outdoor space, and cigar lounge on site. It's dog friendly, family friendly, and even "beer snob" friendly - I was given a few samples, and there was a wide variety of styles on tap. I'll be adding Maker's to my list for regular visits when I'm in town, especially if I want a cigar with my beer!

Our Yelp Elite manager works there and had told me to come by, so I decided that was the night. I grabbed a glass of Moscato while we chatted, and she convinced me to order their hot honey pepperoni pizza to take home. I had literally just had pizza the night before at another event, so I wasn't planning on getting more, but she insisted I try it. I'm so glad I did. I'm not usually someone who goes for hot honey or anything spicy, but this pizza was incredible. The crust was perfectly cooked, the dough had great texture, and the balance between the sweetness of the honey and the pepperoni was surprisingly addictive. It was cheesy, flavorful, and honestly hard to stop eating. I had planned to take it straight home, but I had to sneak a bite while it was still hot. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and it's such a great neighborhood spot. It made for the perfect stop during a beautiful evening walk. I ended up taking the rest of the pizza home, and it was the perfect dinner while relaxing and winding down for the night. I'll definitely be back, especially now that I know how good their pizza is. Bold Mariner is a great local place with good energy and seriously good food.

I selected The Veil as the spot for my UYE and enjoyed an evening of talking shop with the great J David H. while we drank those great beers. The Veil is a comfortable spot in the Railroad District and we were sitting in their dining area on the ground floor. Big tables and plenty of room this afternoon. Which we needed because that burger and fries needed elbow room to enjoy. I'd only suggest a pump-based ketchup dispenser as the packet thing is tedious. They opened here in 2019 - well after I was done with my projects in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake - transforming this three-story space into a family-friendly taproom and restaurant. The full kitchen specializes in indulgent smashburgers and Neapolitan-style pizzas that pair perfectly with the brewery's bold stouts, hazy IPAs, and seasonal sours. I only experienced the downstairs on my visit with Yelp friend Bruce K. The Happy Hour pricing was a draw as well as stellar reviews. Parking in their own smallish lot on a weekday was no problem. I started off with a Blend which is a Pale and Pilsner if I recall and it was tasty. The counter service was excellent. You can cash tip or card. Customers can also leave a tab open. The seating is wood bench type that comfortably seats six. The aesthetics of the first floor is high ceilings, concrete floors and walls. The kitchen has a garage door over the front. The space was previously a restaurant, but before may have been a factory, or warehouse. Only negative was music was a bit elevated for talking. Prior to Happy Hour concluding I ordered a $6 on special smash burger that comes with fries. No other dudes are available. The regular price is $12, so this is a deal friends. In about 20 minutes burgers and fries were delivered to the table. The look was downright amazing, so pretty much knew this bad boy was gonna be a hitter. The burger comes with double patty, cheese, Dukes mayo, lettuce a pickle. If something else I'm sorry I forgot. The first bite was phenomenal! Fresh bread, perfectly cooked 80/20 beef which was not greasy. The construction was a masterpiece. The thin fries were cooked crispy and seasoned well, yum! Honestly I could eat that burger everyday. The whole experience was exceptional and worthy of a full 5. Totally recommend checking The Veil Brewing out.
