Finally checked out Aslin! First impression: such a cool, thoughtfully designed spot. It feels like there's something for everyone under one roof. They've got IZZI Kitchen serving up pizza, sandwiches, brunch, and even BBQ, plus ice cream, a full-service cafe, and an outdoor beer garden. It's the kind of place where you could easily hang for hours whether you're grabbing a quick drink or making a whole afternoon of it. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy when we went, so we didn't get to fully explore the outdoor space. But even just peeking outside, you can tell it's going to be a vibe when the weather warms up. Fire pits, plenty of seating, and a layout that looks perfect for groups. I will 100% be back on a sunny day to sit out there with a beer and really take it all in. As for the beer, I had the Old Town Lager and it was super crisp and easy to drink, exactly what I wanted. Great option if you're not in the mood for something too heavy but still want a solid craft beer. We also happened to visit on a Thursday when trivia was going on, which added a fun, lively energy without feeling overwhelming. What a fun environment!! This was on my list of places to try for longer than I'd like to admit, but I finally checked it out & it did not disappoint! They have a great selection of some awesome & wild beers/ciders! I appreciated the lit fires outside & the tall connect 4 games outside. I decided to come to this venue to hear a DJ set and it was so much more than i expected. There were food, games, music, tv's, beers, ciders, etc. Most breweries and similar places do not typically have many food options, but here, there was pretty much any food you can think of. The fries were good and seasoned, however, the chicken sandwich was a little too crispy for my liking. Next time i come, i will probably do try the pizza or crab cake. The Venue is majority outside with plenty of seating, and fire pits. They are also pet and kid friendly! All of the employees i encountered were super nice and helpful. Aslin is a nice spot down at the Oceanfront! It's located near the convention center and The Vibe District. It's especially super nice during warm weather. The outdoor area is super relaxing with fire pits, picnic tables, an outdoor bar, and various creative seating. Trivia there is a whole lot of fun! The inside is cool, giving a colorful vibes The pizza is yummy. Most recently got the pepperoni pizza, I love the cheese along with the cupped pepperoni. Holds all the flavor! The taste is very fresh. The dough is light. I wish the crust had a little seasoning. I also really enjoyed the cheese curds. I felt the burgers and hot dogs were tasty, but I feel the pizza is the main attraction. The drink options are nice. I prefer the sours. The staff have always been wonderful. Yum! We've driven past several times and said we needed to come give this new spot a try and decided to come with our daughter (5 months and in a stroller) and our next door neighbor on Saturday. The weather was perfect, it was crowded, and it was Oysterfest (at Aslin). They had a tent and a grill and were serving up large oysters by the half-dozen. For a while we couldn't find a table or place to sit in the shade with our girl but we finally found a nice, shaded picnic table in the back patio in the gravel by the merch. I like the QR codes at the table where you can scan, review the menu, and order. Staff will bring it out to you shortly. You can also order at any of the bar counters. Easy peasy. I ordered the kale salad with bread crumbs bc I'm trying to lose the last 10 from the baby and my husband and his friend ordered the hot honey pepperoni pizza. DELISH. I sampled it. Probs the best pizza I've had in VAB and I am not kidding. Large menu with pasta, salads, sandwiches, pizza, sides, etc. You name it - I was impressed bc most beer venues do not have this level of food choices. Staff are easygoing and friendly and vibes here are hip, relaxed, and fun. As with most places like this, tons of kids running around, it's loud and chaotic and that is part of the fun! Another brewery not too far from the beach and just opened recently. The outside had a great vibrant and brilliant color scheme making it a little fun area to gather. A kitchen is also part of the brewery which is great for those that want to eat. I didn't do so while visiting, but all I saw looked pretty tasty. The staff was very pretty accommodating and ended up having some pretty good conversation on what they are doing at this location. Definitely look to check them out if you are in the area. Pretty cool place with good food and drinks. They have a nice outdoor area with seating and some outdoor games (corn hole & ladder toss). Seemed like they were playing bingo as well (on a Thursday evening). There was stuff for kids to do, which was a bonus. Drinks were extremely quick to come out and pretty solid. Food was great--pizza was delicious and the giant pretzel got devoured. Wait staff was friendly and polite. The one huge glaring problem was parking.....the place itself only has about 8 parking spots. Outside of that, you have to find somewhere and walk to Aslin Beer. We were walking through VA Beach's Vibe district and found Aslin. Very interesting place for a few reasons. They've used shipping containers to build out the outdoor patio bar and seating areas - it was very well done, especially if you are, or were, a big fan of Legos. The weather that day was stellar so we sat outside the entire time we were there. They had many different styles and flavors to choose from, and we found something we really enjoyed. Ordered lunch while we were there, and it was well prepared, filling, and delicious. T-Bone, the bartender, took very good care of us all afternoon delivering refills and food to us on the patio. The outside wall had a giant big screen attached so we watched one of Transformer movies for a while outside. Seemed to be lots of activities through the week to promote the Vibe District as well. We really enjoyed this brewery! Came in on a Saturday around noon with 12 people and had no problem ordering or finding seating. Pretty expansive place outside. Beers were very tasty and the food good as well. We got a large pizza and it had good flavor and a nice chewy crust. Quite a few beers on tap as well. I had the orange starfish and wife had one of the Pilsners. Both tasty! In fact everyone in our party liked their food and beers. We walked here from the boardwalk. I recommend walking through the residential neighborhood and not the main road as the sidewalk is damaged and hard to walk with a stroller. This is a brand new modern building. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed the large outdoor chairs. There is an indoor and outdoor bar too. One staff member said the brewmaster mebbe came fr Lagunitas? For me, I have probably visited more than 50 - 60 brewpubs and THIS was def in the top 5. The brew operation is not big here, (only two brewed here and avail.) so tours not a "thing", but the proximity to the convention center, overall high quality, and super friendly and responsive staff made this an A+ for us. Came here for lunch with my work colleagues and then again for an event, and the staff here are really friendly, helpful and really care about ensuring the customers have a great time. The food is good and lots of beer options. They have lots of seating - and cool places to chill , watch a game and great places for people to host events on the upper deck or under the covered bar area outside. There are tv screens everywhere and seating with fire pits as well as a Lot of power outlets which is a nice touch for the modern day with cellphones etc. They also do movie nights on Wednesdays which looks like a lot of fun. This place is freaking awesome!!! It opened Saturday at 11 am and we were there for it. Beautiful set up with bright colors, they have a putting green, lots of outside tables and fire pits, tvs, rooftop seating and the biggest TV I have ever seen. Inside and outside bar.
