I enjoyed Voodoo Brewing so much, I went there twice during my three day visit! It was walking distance from my hotel, so I sauntered over on my first night in town and grabbed some dinner (yes, the rumors are true, their mac 'n cheese is off the charts) and ended up staying to enjoy some lively music and a couple of glasses of their heavenly cream soda seltzer. The crowd was large and rocking to some rock 'n roll classics. The next night, I didn't want to spend lollygagging in front of the TV at the Hilton, so I popped over to Voodoo again to cheers the end of a long, Yelpy work trip with another glass of that dreammmmy cream soda. (If they only they distributed in WA state!) The crowd was a little lighter, but still lively as that night's band was playing some 80s hits. Live music + friendly service + tasty bevvies? Sign me up! I'll definitely make this a regular stop on my Virginia Beach visits! read more

I rated 4 stars due to the QR code ordering, and maybe it's because I'm 98-years old and I don't like that kinda stuff. Very cool place for a date night or even if you're just bored. This was my second time here and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is great the drink variety is great, if you're a person that does not like beer they also have canned drinks and regular cocktails. This place is clean the bathroom is clean (water pressure in the bathroom sink could be better) there are water stations in much is cool so you can hydrate in between. Overall, a really fun brewery to visit in Virginia Beach. They have a grunge ambiance. I love their creative skeleton like mascot. I personally really enjoy their drink selection. One of my favorite options is Oozlefinch, which they always have on stock. There's another green cider/beer that always taste good. Service is great. You order from the QR code, the servers are all very friendly and the bartenders are very nice. They often do different events at voodoo. At our last visit, we tried some of their food. We got the pickle pizza with added chorizo. It may sound odd, but the pickles on pizza tasted pretty good, especially with the pesto like sauce. We added chorizo, which really added flavor. Without the chorizo, I feel that the pizza may be a little bland. We also got the basic burger, which was good in flavor, just needed more sauce. Unfortunately, you do have to pay extra to have fries instead of chips. The food prices felt a little pricier than expected. Overall, get the pickle pizza, but make sure to add chorizo. I had such a great time at Voodoo Brewery's music festival for autism awareness--it was an event that felt both fun and meaningful, with a real sense of community throughout. The food was a standout, not only delicious but also very reasonably priced; I tried the beer cheese mac & cheese and it was rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. I also got a flight, which was a perfect way to sample a variety of their unique local beers and experience different flavors. Stopped in while visiting family in Virginia Beach. Thankfully it was not very crowded for a Friday night. First off I HATE the ordering system. Everything is mobile ordering using a QR code from your table. Even the water is self service. But the insanely good food made up for it. We tried multiple appetizers and shared among our table. All were amazing. The pretzel was baked to perfection and the beer cheese is out of this world. The nachos with the beer cheese were very good. Visited Voodoo Brewing on a Friday evening around 8pm. One thing I really like about this place is the ordering system. You order and pay via QR code right from the table, which is very efficient and honestly should be the standard everywhere at this point. I ordered the chicken tacos, fries, and a blackberry mojito. The drink was excellent. Really refreshing and well balanced. The tacos were good too, although I've had them here before and the chicken was noticeably a little dry this time, which isn't usually the case. Still good overall, just not quite at the level I've had here before. The fries were... fries. They did exactly what fries are supposed to do. Another plus: there's a water station near the kitchen where you can grab your own water whenever you want. Small thing, but convenient. The big issue for me was the live music. There was a band playing covers and they were decent, but it was unbelievably loud. Like "lean directly into the person next to you and yell your sentence twice" loud. If you're coming to drink beer and vibe with loud music, you'll probably love it. If you're hoping to have an actual conversation with the people you came with, it's a bit of a challenge. Overall still a solid spot for drinks and casual food, but next time I might check if there's a live band scheduled before I go. read more

Their food selection is pretty good! The only thing that I didn't like really is the burger. It was pretty bland and for what it's worth should've gotten fries along with it. You have to pay three extra dollars for it. However, the pickle pizza was actually pretty good! You've gotta have chorizo on it to change the texture. I always start my brewery reviews with I am not a fan of beer so therefore not a fan of breweries. But always willing to try new places. I was here on a Wednesday night with a large party and we had several tables reserved. I will say that I will be back. Loved the vibe in there. And there are plenty of drink options for those that don't like beer such as wine and canned cocktails and mixed drinks. The food was good too. We had pretzels with a delicious cheese dip and loved the mustard. We also had hummus and veggies, crab dip and a few pizzas. Everything I tried was really good. I definitely want to go back and check out the menu a bit more. They had burgers, sandwiches, mac and cheese, salads and more. Something for everyone and we were near the kitchen and everything I saw coming out looked pretty dang good. They also have a water station in the back. And they have lots of events so check out their calendar. Wednesdays is trivia but they have live music and brunch and markets. Ally also took good care of me and was very nice. I can't say enough great things about Voodoo! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere. So I am a little spoiled when it comes to tap houses my favorite has the total package great food good atmosphere and 40 taps.... You can tell these guys are trying but the atmosphere was stale and quiet, the food was pretty bad smash burger had stale Un toasted bun and no flavor just greasy, my wife's pizza had un ripe tomatoes and a crust that was dry and flavorless. The taps they had a number of good selections but they need a lot more variety. Lastly the location by diamonds direct parking lot is just un savory lots of items on the ground you don't want to see before eating; they had an incident while we were there with an unstable person assaulting the beer delivery guy and I can't believe this is isolated based on where they are. I'm usually really fond of breweries because I've found them to serve really good food in addition to their brews. However, I think I have found the exception. The servers and their service were good. We were greeted immediately and everyone seemed professional and friendly. The brewery has a relaxed atmosphere and has like a dozen or so tables. Everything looked clean and inviting. The reason I couldn't score them higher is because the food was not good. We ordered two different pizzas and they were both seriously lacking. The cheese pizza had no taste other than it tasted like cardboard. The dill pickle pizza was over seasoned and soggy. We also ordered their mac and cheese and fries. The fries were cold and we had to send them back. They gave us fresh ones but I wouldn't order them again. Out of everything we ordered, the mac and cheese was the best tasting. Absolutely amazing! The experience was something I was intriguingly desirable! You can go over to the bar and sample the different beers that they have which is perfect so you never commit to a beer unless you taste it ! They have a rotating selection, which is awesome and the beers that do really well they're kept around! So either you can continue to go to the bartender to get your beer or you can sit at the table and use your phone to order and they're quick to come around and pick up dirty plates and empty glasses . I went for lunch today. There is no wait staff. You order from from your phone and get your own tap water (no ice) from a tap at the back of the restaurant. My friend ordered a hamburger and a diet soda. The burger came well done, only choice, and the soda was an off brand but they charged $3. No refills. Food was mediocre but the prices were that of a family style restaurant. No one came to check on us. When we closed out our tab they had added at 20% tip. I believe in tipping but if I don't have a waitress who exactly was giving 20% to? I will not be returning. read more

I visited Voodoo Brewing on a Wednesday evening around 5:30 with a few friends. We saw on social media that they were promoting a limited time offer: mixed drink flight that was colorful and the flavors were intriguing. My friend arrived first and got us a table. It is seat yourself and they leave menus on all of the tables. She said she was waiting about 10 mins before I arrived and that no one had come up to her to greet her or see if she had any questions. This was off putting because there was a table right next to her who the staff was checking on and bringing items out to in the meantime. There is a QR code on each table for customers to scan and place orders on drinks and food from. You have the option to pay right away or put in your card info and leave a tab open. I liked this option. When we visited, it was the tail end of their happy hour "Voodoo Vibes" which they have Monday-Friday 3-6pm. $3 off handcrafted cocktails and select apps, $6 select drafts. We looked around at other tables and saw the size of the cocktail flight (6 small plastic cups for $30, think the size of a shooter) and decided it wasn't worth it. The size of the glasses in their Instagram promotions looked bigger. We all opted for the regular size handcrafted cocktails since they were the same flavor options offered in the flight. We tried the Citrus Paradisi Mule, Mango Ginger Margarita, and Blackberry Mojito -- $8 each during happy hour. We also ordered a side of fries $4 and the beer cheese queso with chorizo. I was pleasantly surprised with how fast the apps and the drinks came out! We enjoyed our drinks but the apps were sub par. The next round we did the Parmesan truffle chips $4 and the cauliflower bites -- $8 I believe during HH. We got a few more drinks too. I LOVED the cauliflower bites but had to ask for some of the gochujang sauce on the side. Once happy hour ended and we decided we still wanted a few drinks so we decided to get the cocktail flight. We split it amongst the three of us. It came out quickly and it was gone just as quick lol. I was impressed with the size of their menu for primarily being a brewery & the speed of orders coming out. However I think they need to work on making sure ALL customers are greeted and checked on especially when trying to figure out how to order since it's not the typical way to order. During our visit I did notice some new tables being checked on and explained the QR code ordering so I don't know why my friend didn't get this same treatment when you can see she's been there for 10 mins with no food or drinks ordered. They do have a small outdoor seating area in the front but there are a ton of tables inside. Definitely feels a lot bigger once you're inside. This seems like a family friendly place to come and they have specials throughout the week like trivia night, karaoke, and other food deals. I'm glad they offer drinks besides beer for those of us that don't have that acquired taste! I think this helps appeal to a larger customer base. read more
