I visited Voodoo Brewing on a Wednesday evening around 5:30 with a few friends. We saw on social media that they were promoting a limited time offer: mixed drink flight that was colorful and the flavors were intriguing. My friend arrived first and got us a table. It is seat yourself and they leave menus on all of the tables. She said she was waiting about 10 mins before I arrived and that no one had come up to her to greet her or see if she had any questions. This was off putting because there was a table right next to her who the staff was checking on and bringing items out to in the meantime. There is a QR code on each table for customers to scan and place orders on drinks and food from. You have the option to pay right away or put in your card info and leave a tab open. I liked this option. When we visited, it was the tail end of their happy hour "Voodoo Vibes" which they have Monday-Friday 3-6pm. $3 off handcrafted cocktails and select apps, $6 select drafts. We looked around at other tables and saw the size of the cocktail flight (6 small plastic cups for $30, think the size of a shooter) and decided it wasn't worth it. The size of the glasses in their Instagram promotions looked bigger. We all opted for the regular size handcrafted cocktails since they were the same flavor options offered in the flight. We tried the Citrus Paradisi Mule, Mango Ginger Margarita, and Blackberry Mojito -- $8 each during happy hour. We also ordered a side of fries $4 and the beer cheese queso with chorizo. I was pleasantly surprised with how fast the apps and the drinks came out! We enjoyed our drinks but the apps were sub par. The next round we did the Parmesan truffle chips $4 and the cauliflower bites -- $8 I believe during HH. We got a few more drinks too. I LOVED the cauliflower bites but had to ask for some of the gochujang sauce on the side. Once happy hour ended and we decided we still wanted a few drinks so we decided to get the cocktail flight. We split it amongst the three of us. It came out quickly and it was gone just as quick lol. I was impressed with the size of their menu for primarily being a brewery & the speed of orders coming out. However I think they need to work on making sure ALL customers are greeted and checked on especially when trying to figure out how to order since it's not the typical way to order. During our visit I did notice some new tables being checked on and explained the QR code ordering so I don't know why my friend didn't get this same treatment when you can see she's been there for 10 mins with no food or drinks ordered. They do have a small outdoor seating area in the front but there are a ton of tables inside. Definitely feels a lot bigger once you're inside. This seems like a family friendly place to come and they have specials throughout the week like trivia night, karaoke, and other food deals. I'm glad they offer drinks besides beer for those of us that don't have that acquired taste! I think this helps appeal to a larger customer base. read more

Absolutely amazing! The experience was something I was intriguingly desirable! You can go over to the bar and sample the different beers that they have which is perfect so you never commit to a beer unless you taste it ! They have a rotating selection, which is awesome and the beers that do really well they're kept around! So either you can continue to go to the bartender to get your beer or you can sit at the table and use your phone to order and they're quick to come around and pick up dirty plates and empty glasses . We were there this past Saturday and the musical was awesome. It starts at 7:30 not at 10:30 whenever everyone's getting ready to leave. This place rocks read more

Casual vibe for a quick drink. Came for brunch and want to come back to try their pickle pizza!

Great service and polite staff but VERY overpriced. Food was $20+ per person and was lacking in flavor and overall quality. Bar food at restaurant prices. You also have to order online by scanning a QR code which took away from the overall experience. read more

First time in Voodoo Brewing. We came in at 1.45 pm. Not busy. Wings are alright. I had the cucumber gin too sweet for me. Hubby had a beer. Every time I need a waitress help I have to kept waving . Customer service was lacking. read more

We were there for a fundraiser and the place was packed but that didn't affect their service at all, they were super fast with food and drinks! You order from your phone and they deliver to your table in what felt like minutes! Both food and drinks were great! read more

They had Bold Rock on tap. Sold just on that! We had a baby shower there and the dining area was nice and spacious. They have outdoor seating but a bit chilly that day. Had some apps including the nachos and crab dip. Crab dip with the pub chips was amazing! I took the rest of the crab dip home to eat the next day. And it was even good cold (I'm weird. I know). I also had a slice of the Margherita pizza which was really good. Nice thin crust. The nachos were not my favorite. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries. It was massive! You could tell ot was a homemade patty. It was so good. I was disappointed in the fries but I have had pub chips at other places and they were all bad so I was leary of these. But when I tasted the ones with the crab dip that the host ordered for the table, omg, I will be getting those pub chips again. The service was great. Everyone was so nice and the (i think) manager was very welcoming and accommodating for our little party. I will be back. Great place tucked in the shopping center near Michael's and across the fence to PAHS. Will definitely be back for a happy hour or host a party there one day! read more

Great music Ordering scan is such BS 7 of us wanting a drink and shot and server has no clue Just take our order and get a good tip So frickin stupid read more

If you prefer self service go here. Had to order from phone with QR code and the website to order from was horrible. I watched my drinks sit at bar for 5 minutes and then my waitress was rude and grumpy. If you want water you have to get it yourself and it's lukewarm with no ice. Chicken sandwich was dry and overcooked. The drinks however were great. read more

I went for lunch today. There is no wait staff. You order from from your phone and get your own tap water (no ice) from a tap at the back of the restaurant. My friend ordered a hamburger and a diet soda. The burger came well done, only choice, and the soda was an off brand but they charged $3. No refills. Food was mediocre but the prices were that of a family style restaurant. No one came to check on us. When we closed out our tab they had added at 20% tip. I believe in tipping but if I don't have a waitress who exactly was giving 20% to? I will not be returning. read more

Food and beer were good. However, the service was lacking. The wait staff (food runners really) informed us that the only way to order food or drink was through the app or at the bar. The only time we saw or spoke to wait staff was to inform us how to order, deliver our meal and clear a plate or two. Yet they still ask for tip in the app? The wait staff spent more time talking with each other than engaging with any of the customers. Your method of using only the app is a disservice to your customers and to your wait staff. Their tips have to reflect the lack of service of any kind. I was happy to over tip the bartenders for the tab I opened with them as they were attentive, helpful and friendly. read more

Pros: the blue sapphire drink Cons: the food. It took 45 mins for my friends to get their Mac and cheese. My pulled pork was less pork and more slaw which was disappointing and even more so because my fries were cold. Overpriced, cold, and not that good. read more

Cheese pizza not delivered after 30 minutes because it was "burned". The first one they mistakenly made with pepperoni. Sevice is nonexistent. Never eat here! read more

Popped in on a busy Saturday evening. Found a table but had to wait a good bit before it got cleaned off from the group before us. Really enjoyed the guest tap selection, especially the beenut butter brown ale! The pizza just okay- not my favorite. This was our second time in and the first time we ordered chips and cheese dip which we also were not big fans of. Might have to try the burger next time but so far have not been impressed by the food. The staff were friendly, the live music was nice once they got started! We definitely enjoy grabbing a pint there but haven't found of beer off their flagship list that we really like yet. read more

I've been waiting to visit this new kid on the block. Voodoo brewing is checking lots of blocks as a great brewery. The selection of beers is actually quite impressive. What I enjoyed most was that they have lots of visiting team beers to choose from. Interestingly my go to brews are stouts and porters and they had a lot. Happy to say the home team brews were my favorite. I also liked that they have house crafted cocktails available. The food menus had some knock out choices, I particularly liked the triple platter. Although I didn't try it the pizza menu looked very interesting. They have only been open a few weeks and lunch time was a little slow but it was a Monday. Wait staff were on their game and the place was clean. My only detraction is that the vibe and atmosphere was a bit rushed. I felt the creativity in the food and beer but not the establishment decor. Don't let that stop you from enjoying the fine brews here though. read more

Disclaimer- we went during their soft opening. There's a fenced off heated outside area around the main entrance. Inside there are long high top bench tables spanning the length of the dining room. There are smaller tables by the windows and along the wall. Long bar down one wall. Ordering is by QR code from your table or you can order from the bar. I don't really drink (Asian alcohol flush) so I was pleasantly surprised that the food was so good. We got the crab dip appetizer. Our food runner said it was his favorite thing on the menu. It came with pub chips- thick cut, house made, seasoned potato chips. The dip had a yummy crab flavor and it was a nice soft spreadable texture. It was easily scooped with the chips. It was a very generous portion. I got the flounder sandwich. I upgraded from pub chips to French fries. They came crisp and lightly seasoned. I asked for the jalapeño slaw on the side. My sandwich had a soft, lightly toasted brioche bun. There were 4 bread-n-butter house pickles. There were several pieces of flounder piled on my sandwich. They were delicate with the lightest of batter coating. It was so delicious. My partner got the 3B burger- bacon, blue cheese, and blackened. It came with pub chips. He's a man of few words but he said it was "good and I'd order it again." You can customize a flight of beers to try and he said that he liked all four that he tried. We'll definitely be back. I can't wait to try their pickle pizza and the fish tacos. read more

In a nutshell, food was mediocre. My husband was finished with his hamburger before the rest of us received our food and my daughter-in-law and I sent ours back. Other guests from our group were disappointed as well, and their ordering system is a joke! I'll never go back! read more

Went to Voodoo for the first time last night. Impressed with the staff. I ordered the house wings which were great. Came on a busy Saturday night a month after they opened. Bartenders were kind, attentive and welcoming. We ordered the classic flights to try all of their flagship beers, pretty good! I saw a lot of cocktails being made that also looked good, you can tell they put a lot of time into their cocktail menu. I got the dill pickle pizza and it was so good! We also have the truffle chips that were sooo yummy. They had a band that was kind of loud, I'd appreciate it if they turned it down a notch but I'm not mad about it! I will definitely be back! read more

I was on vacation visiting friends last weekend. They introduced me to this unique brewery. It has plenty of parking even for a Sat night. In a snapshot.... delicious food and superb beer. Who needs anything else? The place was packed on Sat night. It is a seat yourself place, but we (5 people) easily found a spot at the huge family style tables. On Saturdays, they often have a local band. We tried the pickle pizza, and I was happily surprised as soon as I bit into it. It's an unusual pairing, but it was yummy and satisfying. I haven't ever seen that dish on a menu before. Sadly, there is not a franchise in my city. I guess I'll have to make a return visit to VA Beach soon and often. read more

Voodoo Brewing - The current lineup - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Virginia Beach, Virginia

We really wanted to like Voodoo Brewing but our visit was a low point on our vacation here in VB. We dropped by on a Monday at 3:30 to have a couple of beers and some food. We were the only customers besides a small group that was in the process of paying the bill and leaving. One of the owners greeted us and got us a couple of samples of beer. Great start!! But then it went downhill. We had to order using the QR code. I hate those things but we're used to them by now. We placed our orders and waited. And waited. I finally went to the bar to see if we could get the beers there. No one was at the bar. There were 2 owners and around 5 other people working there. A 2 to 7 customer/employee ratio. You would think a beer place could get a couple of beers served in less than a half hour? That's how long it took!! We seriously debated just leaving. I asked a guy who finally showed up behind the bar if we could get some beers and he said he'd be right back and then disappeared. We finally got the beers and an app ordered delivered to our table. It was ridiculous to be in a brewery and have to wait a half hour for 2 beers when we were literally the only customers in the place!! For a second we debated a second round of beers but both came to the same conclusion - let's get out of here asap!! Voodoo seems to be doing something right based on the reviews, but it sure wasn't doing that on the day we visited. read more

We went to see the last set of Shootgun Hunter, great band. The QR code on the table didn't work. I went to the bar to order drinks (as I am not a beer fan) had several options, but I think they were all premade cocktails. Drinks were served in a glass with limited ice, but bartenders that seemed more tired than friendly or helpful. Might give it another try, but they need to step up their game. read more

Service could have been better, the food was just mid. Ordered the nachos and it barely had any toppings

Heard this place was opening up and had to give it a try. When you get there, sit wherever and scan the bar code on the table. You can order from your phone or the bar. They'll bring food menus as well. The beer was good. They had a few fun sours. The food wasn't spectacular. We got the pretzel, which arrived cold. Like it had just come out of the fridge. The muscles were great. Wings were cooked well but the garlic parm didn't have a tun of flavor. My husband didn't have any interest in even finishing the smash burger. Overall had a great time and will be back. read more

Came here for lunch and drinks with my mom the other day and had a great time. We sat at the bar and tried a few of the beers and cocktails, along with the crab dip, the fried cauliflower, and the ghost pepper burger. Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly, making us feel welcome and taken care of throughout the entire experience. I also loved the decor and thought the place was extremely clean! I know they are still pretty new but I think they're a great addition to the Town Center area. read more

I hate making reviews like this... Not the worst, but not the best. And maybe it's just me, idk. I went in today with my husband and we ordered quite a bit because the menu sounded promising. I got the crab dip and pickle pizza. My husband got the nachos and burger (can't remember which one). The crab dip was *chefs kiss* really good. The chips that came with it were a bit oversalted, but I wasn't mad at it. The pickle pizza is where it really let me down. I'm 8 months pregnant so I got the pickle cravings. It wasn't bad, but I felt there was something missing and I was so upset! My husband said his food was good and that the beer flight he got was good. The ambience was nice! I liked all of the colors, art, and doors on ceiling. It really gave a "voodoo" vibe. Staff that we encountered were friendly. I really enjoyed the (I'm assuming) manager. He kept coming by and checking on us, which was nice. The other thing I wasn't crazy about was when you walk in, it is soooo confusing! We didn't know whether to find a server, grab a table, go to the bar, or to the kitchen window. It was throwing us off. But we figured it out!! When you go in, find a seat, and scan the barcode with your phone and the menu will pop up to which you order from. Once you place it, food comes out pretty quick so that's also a plus. All together, I wouldn't say it's bad. I like to try new places. It's just not MY preference. read more

We visit here frequently, and everything we've tried has been delicious. The wings, pizza, and pretzel charcuterie board are some good our favorites.
