Simply George Burger Joint is located in the Kempsriver Crossing Shopping Center in Virginia Beach. Since they are in a shopping center, they were pretty easy to find. Although this shopping center tends to be on the busier side, there were no issues with parking for any of the visits I have made there. My most recent visit here was on March 23, 2026. From the outside, it can be hard to spot them at first with the sign colors similar to businesses around them. The full name is Simply George Burger Joint. The overall view outside lines up with how the rest of the shopping center looks like. I found out looking at the info on the windows outside the business that they are part of the La Oficina Steakhouse & Cantina and Maracaibo Bistro Venezuelan Kitchen & Cocktails. I'm always up for trying something new, and that's why I came in for my first visit on February 13, 2026. When I came inside, it gave me the feel of travel and such with Route 66, cars, etc.. It's a small place inside, but that can be a good thing too. The tables are set up with booth type seating on one side of the table and rolling chairs on the other side of the table. There is a story about this business on the wall to the right after entering. On this first visit, I saw that it was showing they opened at 4 pm, but they actually opened at 11 am. I let them know about that too so it can get updated. They do serve alcohol here, and they have beers, wine, cocktails, and a house liquor. My mom was with me on this visit, and we could choose any table we wanted. Menus were already available on the tables that weren't occupied, and as soon as we got seated and settled, our server came over asking what we wanted to drink. I went with my usual, which is water with lemon. They have Coca Cola products here, so my mom had a Coca Cola soda. It took us a bit of time to choose what we wanted. I ordered first, and then my mom ended up ordering the same thing I did. I decided to go with The Camaro Burger with pepper jack cheese, which is a double beef patty with bacon, F1 sauce, and cheese choice. We both ordered Fries from the Extras menu. I watched as they were getting the food together, as they have an open kitchen for viewing. It didn't take long for everything to be ready. Although everything basically just fit into their plates, the burger was full of flavor. I really liked that F1 sauce on it, so I added more as they are at the tables too with the other condiments. Overall, this was an excellent first visit. Fast forward a little more than a month later when we came back on March 23, 2026. We came in a little after 3:30 pm, so it wasn't too busy, but since things were so good the first time we had to come back. They have a pretty small staff, so we had the same server as we did on our first visit. We both got the same drinks we did the month before. When it came to food, I wanted to try something other than fries. This time I ordered the Impalaquenos (Venezuelan Cheese Sticks). The Impalaquenos were really good. The sauce that went with it complemented it well. That sauce was a Garlic and Cilantro Sauce. I changed up the burger I would get this time. I went with The Malibu Classic Burger, which includes double beef patty, lettuce, tomato, F1 sauce, and cheese of choice (pepper jack cheese for me). Although it was extra, I did add bacon and onion to it. My mom went with The Camaro Burger again, but she did add onion to it as well. It was nice to watch as they were getting the food together. Everything came out hot and they were just as good as the time before. Since it wasn't too busy at the time, I asked some questions about the business. The business came about after winning the 2025 COVA Battle of the Burgers. I also asked about the F1 Sauce that is so good. The F1 Sauce is made from pickles, onion, ketchup, mayo and garlic. Overall, these have both been excellent visits here. The food and service were on point both times. If you pay by a credit or debit card, there is a 3.5% admin fee to cover their cost for using such card. Although the menu is small, there's still a good amount of flavors to choose from. I know some will say costs are high, but everything is these days. These burgers were worth it for us. If you're in this area of VIrginia Beach and looking for a burger place to check out, this place is definitely worth it. read more

Simply George Burger Joint & Beer 1309 Fordham Dr #106, Virginia Beach, VA 23464 In Virginia Beach, a burger joint lies waiting for customers. Entering the place, I am welcomed with a diner bar and grill and hints of a mechanic shop theme. It really gives the restuarant a down to earth Americana vibe. I felt very comfortable here. The hotdog came to me in a nice slightly toasted bun and it was quite big. It makes me wonder if I'm eating a sausage or a regular weiner. Regardless, it had that nice slightly smokey taste and you definitely taste that it's 100 percent beef. The fries were pre-cut, but were fried well and came out crispy. There were almost perfect and tasted great with ketchup. Not too salty, it had the right amount of seasoning. The Caramelized burger was very impressive. The bun was served soft, meat well done, and the onions add a certain crispiness to the gooey melted cheese in a good way. It was delicious with each bite, especially with their customized F1 sauce. The Mustang Burger had the american cheese perfectly melted on the patty with shredded lettuce, tomato, and onion. Quite sincerely cooked with a well done patty. I recommend the Mustang Burger with the F1 sauce and a dash a ketchup. If I had to choose between the two, I like The Caramelized the most. It definitely won this race. Love this place. Looks very cute with all its decor and motif of old license plates, automotive oil canisters, etc. the seats are inviting as there are cushioned settees (great to rest your baby carriers even when there aren't a high chairs). They have the daily lunch special with their burger, soda and fries for $10.99. You can have your choice of toppings for extra but it comes with lettuce(thinly sliced) tomato, pickles and caramelized onions (although the onions weren't even sautéed). I can definitely see why this place was highly rated in the newspaper! My mom had suggested we visit this place prior to the Christmas Village and what a great idea that was! We ordered- The Caramelized : Onions made to perfection and weren't skimp might I add! The layers of thinly smashed burgers were perfect. The Mustang : Topping every bite with the F1 sauce did triple platinum in my books! I added muenster cheese and it was delicious! Overall definitely recommend trying out this place. Visited this restaurant on a Friday evening around 6 PM. Walked in and was able to pick any table. We wanted to sit at. The restaurant is car themed and the stools are mechanic stools. There is a limited menu but all items on the menu are absolutely delicious. When we walked in, we were the only customers but by the time we left, there were five other tables still. We highly recommend if you want a good burger to try this place house. The only tip that I recommend is that the burgers are à la cart and if you would like a side, you have to order that separately. read more

We were on the hunt for a good burger and well, we found one! Walking in felt like a diner which made me nostalgic. I love the theming, right down to the craftsman stools at the tables. My husband and I both ordered the camero burger, we had our choice of cheese. Fries are extra so we ordered just 1. My daughter ordered the mini Cooper burger and her own fries ( with added cheese!). We were also surprised they offer drinks! We took advantage of that for sure. I ordered the lemon drop....sooooo good! And my husband ordered an old fashioned and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Service was quickly, food was fantastic and the vibes were perfect after a long work week. Small (but immaculate!) hole in the wall burger joint in the Kemps River Shopping center in VB. The good folks here also run Maracaibo bistro and La Oficina Steakhouses. We first tried their burger at this past summer's Battle of the Burgers competition, and were blown away by their flavors. So happy they decided to take it a step further and open a brick-and-mortar spot to showcase their burger expertise. We could use bigger plates (you'll see that the burgers are served on plates in the smaller side), but that in no way detracts from the taste. Can't wait to return for more. read more

We had a great lunch at Simply George! My husband and I each got burgers (that were amazing!) and we shared French fries, as the side was enough for us to share. We had our 1 year old son with us, and he enjoyed the grilled cheese. There were options for kids on the menu. They had a high chair that was incredibly clean, as was the rest of the restaurant. Solid burger but not great for money. $15 for burger and soda. Burgers on menu ran $8.50 and up. Their standard was double with cheese and F1 sauce without any extras. Could have used salt and pepper. F1 sauce? Didn't seem to add much. New place near the new large Asian market. Place new and clean styled sorta like fifties with automobile decorations. My family and I went here for an early dinner at 4:45 pm on a Tuesday. The place was empty since it was so early, so we had a choice of where we could sit. The interior is decorated with car memorabilia and a really fun vibe. The tables were wooden work horses and the seats were adjustable wheeled mechanic stools or sofas. The server came over very quickly and took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to look at the menu. We ordered a Camaro Burger, The Winner, and The Three Little Pigs, all with fries. Our burgers arrived, fresh and hot, and so did the fries. The fries were very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfectly cooked. The burgers were juicy. The buns were soft and tasty. The cheese was nicely melted. The bacon was crisp. These were some of the best burgers that we have ever had in Virginia Beach! On The Winner, the plantain jam matched perfectly with the flavors of the other toppings. The Three Little Pigs was topped full of pulled pork, ham, bacon, and a fried egg and was a good sized stacked burger. We all enjoyed our meals, and left satisfied. The food was average. Nothing to write home about. But the real issue was that the seating was wildly uncomfortable. You had a choice of sitting on a stool with no back or sinking into a sofa seat that made it hard to even reach the table. Went for a burger/fries. Nothing special. However, they charge you extra for lettuce, tomato, or onions. Usually burger "fixings" are included (understand adding bacon or cheese could be an added charge). Fries were good (nice and crispy), but not included with burger. Service was excellent and friendly...would I be running back to get another burger...probably not. They do not compare to a burger at Kelly'sTavern, Brickhouse, or even Outback (where they include all the fixings and fries, etc.). read more
