Amazing smash burgers, love the simplicity of the menu, and the fries were crisp and perfect. Only negative is that service was slow when I went but would absolutely still return here.

Amazing Food! My boyfriend and I came on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. It was a 30 minute wait but it went by fast. When seated, we sat outside because the inside can be pretty loud with music and just overall talking. The outside patio has a more relaxed atmosphere. The burgers were all excellent as far as freshness and taste. Fries were good as well, the fries have cheese, onions and their special sauce on top. The hot dog was just okay but if you're looking for a good smashburger place that is open late this is the best spot.

Bomb.dot.com! Came here with my wife and overall really enjoyed it. We both went with the Mickey and an order of FP fries, and honestly everything was solid across the board. The burgers were cooked right, packed with flavor, and the fries definitely lived up to the hype. Drinks were a highlight too. The old fashioned was on point, not watered down and not overly sweet. My wife's espresso martini was excellent and easily one of the better ones she has had lately. The price point felt fair for what you get, especially considering the quality and portions. This is definitely a spot we would come back to. That said, the wait can be ridiculous at times. The food comes out pretty fast, so it is wild how long some people camp out at tables. There is only so much you can order. Eat, enjoy, and keep it moving so others can sit. Overall, great food and great drinks. It is worth the visit, just be prepared to wait if it is busy.

Frank and Patty's is everything you could ask for when searching for burgers and fries! I recently visited after my company Christmas party and was immediately impressed with their "pop up" Christmas set-up. Their speciality holiday drinks and glasses are funny and delicious! Their smash burgers are fresh and delicious! The parking is limited and this is not someplace I would take a large group as their seating is limited. Highly recommended to visit this gem in Virginia Beach and definitely worth the wait if they're at capacity.

It's interesting to see how places transform from their previous identities. What was once a Baby Izakaya is now Frank & Patty's and they are an absolute hit. You really can't go wrong with a stellar burger, hot dog, and fries. It's an All-American treat during each visit I usually order the Patricia and FP Style Fries. If I'm really hungry, I'll also order a chili cheese snap dog. I'm not even vegan, but the Patricia hits the spot. The food comes out pretty quickly thanks to easy assembly and it's just a great time I've been here for dinner, special DJ events, and most recently for their holiday pop-up bar. You can order tropical holiday drinks that come in absolutely adorable cups. I gotta warn yall tho, the drinks are STRONG LOL. So if you're expecting it to be cutesy and fruity, that's not what you're getting lol. Most of them are made with rum and the rum is rumming. I mean, it's worth the price lol. I might try a shot or the non-alcoholic drink next time. Just a nice lil visit to keep festive this season! Hope y'all get to check it out!

My friend and I finally stopped into Frank & Patty's since it's been on our list for a while. The location itself is pretty unique, it's tucked in somewhat of an alley with very limited parking. Finding a spot was a little challenging, but luckily we found free street parking, which was a win. We were seated right away at the bar, and it was clear this place has a neighborhood vibe. The bartender seemed to know some of the locals, which was pretty cool. One thing we couldn't help but notice was the bar top lol. It was super sticky to the point where menus, phones, and anything else stuck right to it lol. We were told it's because of the tarnish they use, but it was definitely interesting lol. After looking over the menu, I ordered the Spicy Burger with FP Style Fries and a Margarita. The Margarita was on the tart side, my friend asked for extra agave to balance hers out. The Spicy Burger itself was amazing! I had them put the sweet pepper relish on the side, which was a good idea because I wasn't a fan, but everything else hit the spot. The FP Style Fries were equally delicious, the grilled onions were a great touch. We finished with the homemade Banana Pudding but unfortunately, it was a miss for both of us. It had a salty taste to it, maybe from sea salt or salted caramel, but we didn't enjoy it and it wasn't very sweet. Overall, my burger and fries were great and the service was excellent. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Went here on Saturday around 8 pm, was able to park on the main street nearby since the restaurant lot was valet only. The inside is small and it was packed; there were only two seats at the bar left and just one table open, so we opted to sit at the table. We made it in just in time because shortly after we were seated, other people came in so I'm happy we snagged the table. It was raining outside so we couldn't sit out there. Definitely gives date night vibes here which I really liked. I decided to try the Patty burger (10/10) it was cheesy, soft, flavorful, and all around delicious. I absolutely loved my burger. The Spicy burger (10/10) was even more flavorful with the relish, definitely getting this one for myself next time I go. I also had the chili cheese fries (8/10) they were hot and fresh, but the chili definitely needed some spicy and I wasn't a fan of their cut of fries. They were like McDonald fries; I think crinkle fries would've been way better. Didn't try a drink this time, but I plan to when I go back. Service was good as well, we were frequently checked on by our waitress and they were friendly. I really enjoyed my meal and will def be returning in the future; gonna try and go on a nice weather day so I can sit outside. My overall rate of experience : 9/10

Came here on the late night after an event at the MOCA. Once we were carded at the door we took a seat and reviewed the menu. I ordered a Mai Tai and my man got a Mexican coke. 3 servers asked us if we were ready to be helped, eager to take our order which is nice to know we would've never been kept waiting lol. The Mai Tai ... well I have no notes it was everything and more, beautifully crafted. I was between the Patty Burger and the Spicy but ultimately got the Patty Burger to try for my first time. My man also got the Patty without pickles. The service was fast as our drinks and burgers came out pretty quickly. The burger was incredibly good. My teeth sunk in soo easily with every bite. The fries were good as well. They were what I like to call "McDonald's" style if you know you know. Although I enjoyed the burger as is, I knew I needed some caramelized onions and some jalapeños. These were the perfect additions to make the burger just how I like. The ambience was nice and intimate even full of people and I enjoyed our visit. Definitely looking forward to going back.

Love the vibe here. Gets busy pretty quickly during the weekends. Had to wait 90 minutes but the food is great! Burgers. Fries. Franks. Das it. Das all you need. 5/5

Frank & Patty's is the kind of hole in the wall spot that makes you feel like you've stumbled onto a secret menu item of life itself. Tucked away (think speakeasy vibes, minus the password), this place is all about the burger, and wow, they absolutely deliver. We both ordered the Patty Burger with a side of fries, and I'm still dreaming about that homemade sauce. It's rich and tangy, and the burger itself is crispy and juicy perfection, cooked just right, and is served just with pickles that actually complement instead of overwhelm. The fries were crispy and golden. It was a little early for me to indulge in a cocktail (personal rule!), but I already know I'll be back to test drive the drink menu. The dining area is small and cozy, but that's part of the charm. Our server was great, very friendly! Frank & Patty's is a must-try. Come hungry!!!

Cool local hot dog and smash burger dive near VB oceanfront. I'd liken it to elevated "grown up" McDonalds, in a good way. $30 for 2 burgers (Mickey, Spicy) and yummy shoestring fries. FTR, there was a 75min wait for 2 people so we opted for to go. They do have a bar and patio but know the hostess queues all seats including bar.

Now thisss is a smash burger!!! Smashed, but still JUICY! Definitely a packed spot on the weekends.

So my husband LOVES Frank and Patty's. He's a regular and has been here dozens of times. He likes to come late at night and get a kid's cheeseburger and I always get the chicken tenders brought home with both their honey mustard and ranch bc both are wonderful. I've probably had the tendies about 10x and they're always wonderful and flavor is consistent. Today, we stopped in for lunch and it wasn't super crowded which was good bc we had our baby, they seated us at their bar area and the waitress was a sweetheart. It's cute inside, simple, but clean. The menu is small, by design, and simple. I had a wedge salad and the tendies (of course). They have several burgers and hot dogs on the menu, as the name implies, and a few desserts. They also have alcohol and will be expanding into the store next door. They have outdoor seating on a cute back patio with firefly lights. Love, love, love! The wedge is one of the best in town!

The rude guy working the bar was neither friendly or pleasant. There were no napkins when food was served. I stood up and politely asked for some. I found some below the register and, since the guy was busy prepping drinks, I decided to get them myself. He then said, "okay do my job," which was unnecessary and rude. Though the other waiter was friendlier, service was overall bad.

Drinks were delivered very fast by the bartender. 2nd rounds were offered prior to the drinks being empty which shows good serving habits. The serving portions were very plentiful and played very well on the brunch theme! Burger was cooked medium well but still very juicy with a delicious mayo based sauce. The chicken and biscuit was juicy and the biscuit was flaky and delicious. It would have served the dish well TJ have a little more syrup. I also loved the unique hash tots. The menu always feels creative and elevated while still being approachable, and the atmosphere is one of my favorites for a night out with friends. We started with the buttermilk fried shrimp served with cocktail aioli and VA hydro bibb lettuce, and they were incredible. Super crispy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor without feeling heavy. The aioli added the perfect little kick, and it was one of those appetizers everyone keeps reaching back for. For my dinner, I ordered the scallops, which were absolutely the star of the night for me. The orange gochugaru butter basted scallops were cooked perfectly and paired with orecchiette pasta, lemon, mint, and basil ricotta, sautéed greens with garlic and pine nuts, crispy mint, and Calabrian chili oil. There was so much going on in the best way possible. It was bright, fresh, spicy, rich, and balanced all at once. Every bite was ridiculously good. My friend got the half chicken with roasted red potatoes, Calabrian chili Brussels sprouts, smoked tomato chimichurri, hot honey celery root puree, and rosemary. I stole a few bites and immediately understood why he was obsessed with it. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the sides complemented it perfectly. I also had a glass of the Cierelli Rosso Montepulciano, which paired so well with dinner. One thing I especially love is that they literally have a "girl dinner" section on the menu, which feels very fitting for the vibe here. Such a fun touch. Always impressed with Esoteric and already looking forward to my next visit.

Arrived around 6:30 and were able to get a table but it filled up fast. Host noted we were probably new bc Tuesdays were usually familiar faces; love to hear that locals love a place too! We ordered the Buffalo Mushrooms as a starter and let me tell you, it's worth the hype. The crunch on these things is legendary. The sauce is a little spicy but it won't blow your palate out. Also the portion is enormous. We wanted to save our appetite for our mains but just kept eating them. We got the monthly special burger which was the kimchi burger with Brussels sprouts on the side and a wagyu meatball sub with fries. Dear lord that burger! I am trying to remember another burger that I loved this much. The kimchi was cooked down into a bit of a compote which melded with the cheese and gochujang perfectly, the patties were crispy as hell! The bun added a perfect sweetness. I told the server it was "stupid". I almost cried. This can't even capture just how good the food was. I'm sorry. The Brussels sprouts were a little understated, kinda like creamed spinach at a steakhouse. They were delicious but overshadowed by other menu items. The meatballs were spicier than we expected, so if you like a spicy meatball, get after it. The best thing about the sub was the pesto sauce on top, which added a nice green brightness to what was an otherwise heavy sandwich. Good luck picking this monster up, we needed to resort to knife and fork! The fries were on point. Whoever is running the frier at Esoteric has the temp dialed in. I wish we had room for dessert but we were already bagging up most of the sub and fries. The portions here match the prices. Would love to eat outside here when it's a little warmer. If you are looking for a cute spot in the vibe, don't miss Esoteric. We for sure will be back.
