The Sky Bar at VA beach is probably one of my favorite hang out locations besides the beach itself. You do have to be a guest or affiliated with guest to be able to access the Sky Bar, unless things have changed. I imagine for special events they do make exceptions!! I still want to attend their themed Halloween parties, I've heard they are the highlight of year. The Sky Bar is on the rooftop of Hilton VA Beach with 365 view of the City and has nice selection of spirits of many kind. There is an infinity pool and spa located outside with wall cabanas and located inside is a pool with fountain system (unsure if there's indoor spa). Both pools are saltwater which is nice!! I could hang here all day and If I was a local, it would be my #1 spot. The bartender here goes above and beyond for guest and to see all needs are met. read more

The staff are normally friendly, and the ambiance, particularly in the summer is great. There's always a diverse crowd in attendance, and they always feature a great DJ to provide the night's soundtrack. The drinks are solid too. We made reservations for 2 igloos for a Saturday pre-birthday celebration and this did not disappoint! First time here and I loved it!!! Great for birthdays, girls night, or date night! The igloos have seating for 6, blue tooth speakers to listen to your favorite hits. It was great for an evening/night out. Our server was great I don't remember her name but she was very friendly. We ordered pretzels, seafood sliders, and a s'mores board. The food was great. I loved the ambiance and will definitely return. Make sure you check it out! read more

The food didn't match the prices. $14-17 for each "snack item" was ridiculous. My friend had 4 jumbo shrimp for $17. Everything was cute, the view was beautiful, but not worth the ticket of $75 and nothing included. Cute spot but not too interactive to engage you for too long. This visit, we had my Tucker Boy with us and the sun was glaring. As we approached a bar near 29th we were turned away so I suggested Catch 31/Sky Bar as I remembered there was outdoor seating as well and it by King Neptune on 31st! We were greeted right away and before I could finish asking if my Tucker was allowed, another awesome wait staff was handing us a bowl of water for my Tucker Boy! Because of such nice hospitality we didn't care so much about the Steak burger I ordered but Tucker absolutely loved it, he ate every bit of it including the brioche bun that contained the beef patty. The aoili fries that was left for me was very good. The sparkling Rose I ordered was refreshing and so was my hubby's order of Sauvignon Blanc! Overall a great experience, my baby was satisfied and they simply exemplify excellent customer service, even the bar/restaurant manager came over to check in on us as other diners gushed over how @beautiful blue eyes" Tucker have or how pretty he was! Shout out to Sky Bar for bringing the igloo culture to Virginia Beach! Now if we could just keep this trend going in Spring/Summer... May I recommend a possible bungalow rental, just like your igloos? Can you tell Summer is on my mind? Sky Bar is one of my favorite places to go. I love the trendy, upscale atmosphere, but they still keep you grounded with their prices being fair & reasonable. They usually also have happy hour, when Sky Bar is actually Sky Bar, not their homemade winter wonderland. I'm going to highlight their igloos though, only because it's something seasonal, and new. You get an igloo reserved for up to 4 of your closes friends, and the igloo comes with: -personal server -decorated, social-distanced space -two heaters -blankets you can take home -waters -and honestly so many picture perfect opportunities. The food on the menu was also amazing, and I am all about experience, so I would highly recommend the s'mores kit. It makes the atmosphere seem more bonded, it's a warm winter night where you are able to do this, and the s'mores kit just set the tone to be a little more perfect. They have their signature drinks, or regular drinks to order just like a bar as well. They also do offer non-alcoholic beverages if anyone was wondering, wish also makes it kid-friendly! Nothing in the igloo was breakable either, which was nice not to worry about. I wish there was a little more space, to maybe have up to 5-6 people. Either way, I loved it. I loved the experience, and I can't wait for next Winter to do this again! And that says a lot, because if you know me, I hate the cold. But I will face Winter if I know I'm going here! read more

Rooftop igloo - this is great idea in a COVID-19 environment. Bring a coat because you are outside in an enclosed igloo - they provide a mini heater. Also, you are given a bluetooth speaker which allows you to play some tunes. The drinks were great! I preferred the tray with the sweets. Also, you must preorder most of the food when you make your reservation. It is absolutely beautiful when the sunsets. read more

Five stars for Thursday ladies night and the coolest vibe on a weeknight. Nothing gets better than running into people you know and then being in the mix of Bruce Smith and his entourage celebrating his birthday. - DJ Joe Fu was spinning the beats. - People were dancing everywhere. - The fellas were having a good time catching Game 7 on the one TV at the bar. - My buddies were dancing away and getting toasted drinking out of champagne bottles. - This really isn't a complaint. The place wasn't super packed so service was quick and easy. That lead to a few too many drinks for people. It's so great to people watch at this point. The funniest part of the night was getting home at 2am and realizing that the set of keys I took with me didn't have the key to my house on it. The sober guys ends up sleeping in his car...in his driveway...too concerned about waking up any of his housemates. Isn't a time like this supposed to be saved for when I let things get out of hand? The only way me and my friends got in to the VIP was because we knew one of the owners. We had to run back to our cars and throw on collared shirts. But they don't care how wrinkled or stinky they might be (FYI). There is a cover but we didn't have to pay it. I'd be surprised if it was less than 20$. Overall. Honey Bun and I hadn't been on any kind of trip since Covid. Since we used to go to VA Beach several times a year for some close-to-home trips. We went for my birthday a few weeks ago and visited all of our favorite places to see how things had changed. Our trip to the Hilton Bar found lots of changes in the menu - now quite limit and missing the Happy hour specials we used to love. Had it not been for DeVante', the super bartender, we would have had one quick drink and left. He made some good recommendations for us, so we stayed and enjoyed ourselves. This is the second time that I have attended the Sky Bar on Ladies Night aka Girls night Up. Candyland Party was the theme of the night. It was a Great way to spend my Birthday! They had 10 signature drinks that were made by Three Olives Vodka. I Tried 3 out of them. The Blow-Pop was great and it also had a Blow pop in it. I also tried the Loop-Aide which was great if you like lemonade... It was very Tasty! This place is a complete ripoff. My friend and I went up to the pool and decided to have cocktails. Asked for two Frozen margaritas with tequila floaters, to which the bartender said we'd be charged for a full shot and I said of course no worries! Well I watched this girl makes our drinks (and I'm a bartender) and she poured one 4 count shot into our blender for TWO margaritas. Then for our floaters on the top (reminder I'm paying for full shots so I would expect a full shot) she pours a 2 count! A 2 count is half a shot. Do not charge me $16 for two shots and only pour half shots. It's got a beautiful view but don't buy your drinks here. read more

I was upset Saturday night to find out the Sky Bar is closed temporarily due to covid because their website, along with other sources like Yelp and Google, indicated that they were still operating and the only things out of service were valets and lounges and the rest of the hotel was abiding to social distancing guidelines. I'll take fault into not calling in ahead of time to double check their motives in operations but I do feel whoever is in charge of updating their website could do a much thorough and attentive job into giving all needed information for future hotel members. read more

Came here for a birthday over the summer and this place is pretty neat. The main reason I give it 3 stars is for the view - the ocean, the beach, and the city on the other side. For sure, its best quality. It has an outdoor and an indoor pool but (for safety reasons, they said), you can't use them at night time. In my head it sort of defeats the purpose of a rooftop party but understandable, I guess. The other biggest reason I'd go back to this place was the DJ for sure. I can't remember her name, but she was there at least once a week over the summer (not sure now on the off season), and she was on it! Without a doubt, her energy and song choice made up for the entire night and had us dancing non-stop. As for the service, meh. Not the finest, to be honest. Same with drinks (especially mixed drinks as they were a bit too watered down for my taste), and overall pleasantness of the staff. All in all, this place has potential. But they need to want it - and make it happen. read more

Extremely bad service, we were not even there for two hours when my friend was asked to leave because she was "harassing the DJ" when she had not spoke to any DJ nor was she near a DJ booth. The issue was a personal matter that a woman that was in attendance has with her and my friend was not even aware she was there until she left along with myself and 7 other people. Last night was my first time to visit Sky Bar. We were at a charity event downstairs and afterwards some of went to the rooftop. Didn't have to worry about being a member or paying since we were with the party. For my first experience I enjoyed myself. Definitely had a metropolitan feel. It was pretty windy last night so I'm glad I had my blazer. You're on the 20th floor if I'm not mistaken so it really is a great view. There were two bartenders so I never had to wait long for a drink and they seemed nice enough. To get to the restrooms you have to walk through the indoor pool area. Man was it hot almost felt like a sauna in there. But once you get to the restrooms it cools off again. Music was pretty good and definitely plenty of seating. We sat by the Jacuzzi most of the time we were there we just had finished standing for 5 hour straight we were beat. No one was in the pool or Jacuzzi by the way but then I'm not sure if they allow swimming during the "club" night. The pool lights were blue so it'll really amp'd up the look of the bar area. They also have VIP bed areas. It was pretty empty last night so none were occupied. Overall had fun for the brief time I was there, drinks were good, reasonably priced. I'd return on another warm cloud free night. read more

--3.5 stars-- I'm not big on going out to clubs, but this one is at the top of the Hilton and we got to go in for free. The security to get in at this place means business. Don't try to say your on the list when your not. There's no questions about that. It took awhile to get to the actual bar since our elevator kept stopping on almost every floor. Once up top, enjoy the view of the oceanfront. I don't think you can get a view like that anywhere else. When we got there, the music wasn't exactly in full swing, but built up to get everyone dancing. I was more amused by watching what was going on around me since there was some kind of conference going on that brought an interesting crowd to the place. Drinks were ridiculously priced. I asked my friends what they paid for and they said about $12 for a little cup. No thanks! Overall, nice views, but overpriced. read more

Wow!! The view is fantastic and the atmosphere is very Bali-esque. This is a membership or invitation only bar. Our friends reserved the back corner with two waitresses which made the night very enjoyable. We didn't have to stand in line at the bar and were able to enjoy talking because of our location. There are two pools and hot tubs. One set is located outside on the deck and the atmosphere is amazing. My hubby and I were just guests, but I would seriously consider membership if we lived in the area. We were also told that they have a live DJ on the weekends. I liked the techno remixes and the week nights aren't nearly as crowded so there was plenty of room to dance. read more

The sky bar is a fun place to go for special occasions. I have been for Halloween (which wasn't very fun because it was unbearably cold.) I have been for a bach party which was a fun night in august. We got the VIP area which was definitely worth the cost. You receive bottle service, champagne, and a roped in area with a couch overlooking the boardwalk. You do generally need a membership to get in which keeps the bar with pretty classy guest. read more

This place could be so much better, but when the overpriced drinks are watered down and they serve cheap wine for a lot of money it really gives you buyer's remorse, especially when the other clientele are friends of the bouncers. Unfortunately it is the only place to listen to music that is not baby boomer aged in a club atmosphere. So...stick to beer, it's the safe choice.
