Had breakfast and dinner here multiple times and excellent choices, great food and very reasonable price tag for a great service, ambience and good food. We were actually in our was to another restaurant but so glad we came here instead. I've always walked by Interlude, but never stopped. It was a nice ambiance for a hotel restaurant (it's located in The Westin Hotel). First we had drinks. The bartenders were super nice and able to make pretty much anything. We didn't have intentions on eating dinner and just having drinks, but after seeing the menu and seeing the jambalaya pasta on the menu, we had to try it. It's amazing. I've never had jambalaya pasta that was so creamy. I can still taste it. That's going to be my main item to get whenever I go back. read more

My babe and I were in the area and we spotted a sign advertising Happy Hour on a Sunday! We were the only ones in the restaurant, therefore we sat at the bar to keep the bartender company... she didn't pay us any attention though hehehehhe Happy hour consist of deals with food and drinks... great! Most places only have drinks, but we gotta eat too! We only wanted drinks... While my babe drinks Captain Morgan (not featured on Happy Hour), he paid full price, but I opted in the happy hour price for the tequila. I don't prefer this tequila, but I wanted to take advantage of the sale. The bar area is nice... TV's are present and you can easily access the restaurant from the Westin Hotel as well as from the outside. The bartender Sunday afternoon, she wasn't the super friendliest person, but she did make sure we were straight by checking on us from time to time. If you are in the area, check out this restaurant, you may enjoy it. We plan to try the food next time. Have fun and enjoy life :) read more

Came here for breakfast on our last day after checking out of the Westin. Loved the hotel and this restaurant, at least for breakfast. The service was friendly and fast, and the food was yummy! A little on the pricier side for breakfast, but it is a hotel restaurant so that's to be expected. The omelet was perfect, the bacon was sooo crispy and flavorful, and the French toast was not too sweet! read more

I visited this location for Town Center Restaurant week and I was extremely impressed. The quality of the food was so high for the low cost, I could easily say that they had the best menu for the week. For $10 I had the Spinach salad, which came with Spiced Pecans (not spicey, but sweet), goat cheese and fresh strawberries; and the size of the salad alone could have been an entree in many places. For my second course I ordered the grilled salmon with asparagus, parmesan risotto and basil butter. The salmon was soft and flakey and the risotto was creamy and not too runny. This is above standard quality for a hotel restaurant and is easy competition with any other restaurant within town center. The only negative I could say is that the staff was not prepared for the rush of people coming in, they had 1 person working 6 tables before the manager came over to help her. Im sure that isn't how they normally operate, but something that I hope they will improve if/when they participate in another restaurant week. read more

Visited interlude this past Mothers Day for breakfast. The food was awesome but my waitress *Grace delivered the food and the check about 30 secs later. I was in a state of shock but continued to watch other tables in my area to see maybe if the same thing was happening. Sad to say it wasn't. Giving her the benefit of the doubt , maybe her shift was ending early and she forgot to mention it or maybe she was changing areas in the restaurant all of which proved to not be true. We ate for another 30 minutes or so giving plenty of time to enjoy the food and see if she'd ask about the bill. That did not happen. I paid leaving $0 tip of course and took a picture of the receipt and was sure to use my Amex Gold Business card due to the ease of which I could dispute and track if a tip would be added afterwards. Sorry to say that's indeed what happened. Grace added a little over $4 bucks for a $41 dollar meal. Its not $ of course , the principal. Ive since disputed and AMEX is on the case. Very very unfortunate but I refuse to be taken advantage of and be made to feel like a 2nd class citizen. read more

Tucked in the corner by the Westin Town Center hotel entrance, Interludes is easy to overlook and admittedly would be quite forgettable under normal circumstances. My wife and I had just cancelled our dinner reservations in Virginia Beach due to the cold weather and decided not to venture out for the night. Lucky for us there was a Groupon deal and we decided to eat in. We ended up having a great time at the hotel bar/restaurant. Who would have thought? The bartenders/servers (Marissa and Erin?) were very friendly. A lot of items were sold out on the menu, but the substitutions were fine and the service made up for it. The prime rib was massive and quite tender. The creme brule cheesecake was tasty. The drinks were generously poured. Generally we really enjoyed the food and service. As far as hotel bar/restaurants go, this was pretty good. read more

Interlude has a new menu as of today, so I was told by the concierge. Deciding to take a chance on them, I went in and was greeted right away with friendly smiles and a wave: "sit wherever you want sweetie"! I looked through their menu and decided on the Pork Chop. H e a v e n l y ! ! ! Perfectly grilled meat and vegetables. The grilled butter squash just about melted in my mouth and flooded it with flavors. Pan-fried onions were caramelized and tasty. The grilled vegetables were crunchy and soft at the same time. So glad I "stayed in" to dine onsite as I was staying at the Westin's anyway. Best of all - checked in on Yelp! and got 10% off. read more

This place offers Gluten free and healthy options. The Gluten Free Pork Ribeye was amazing. The sweet potato coins left a little to be desired and the prices are a bit high. However the service balances everything out. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Decided to take my family (6) for Valentine's lunch here since i had a $25 certificate to use. This is a bar/restaurant settings inside Westin hotel with a few tables & nice atmosphere. There was only one cool waitress working & i guess a manager (the place was not as busy as the others thank god) that greeted us as we walked in. We started with appetizers (3 salmon tacos, 3 steak tacos) at $24 total i thought was a bit pricy but delicious. We followed our orders with entrees....Pork chop, short boneless ribs, buffalo chicken flatbread pizza, waffle chicken sandwhich, and cobbler chicken salad were all delicious with enough portions to enjoy, and served in a timely manner. The Interlude Restaurant & Bar is located inside the Westin Hotel in the town center. I liked the atmosphere and customers more than the food. I was extremely disappointed in the margarita because the bar tender added orange juice. I've had that happen once before at a different restaurant. I'm not sure why they do that because traditonally the sweet and sour mix, tequila, ice and lime are all they add. I know that people making them at home might use margarita mix, tequila, and ice with a wedge of fresh lime but the bars usually don't. I add freshly squeezed lime juice to my own but you rarely get that at bars. The bar tender was personable and it's hard to tell a nice lady that she's ruined your drink but I eventually did. I asked for her recommendations on the menu and she raved about the short ribs. That's one of my favorites so it didn't take much to convince me to order them. She brought them out and they were actually cold. I could tell she hadn't left them in the microwave long enough. I didn't want to complain because it was late so I asked for a box to take them home. I didn't think the flavor or texture of the short ribs were anthing special but they were cold. I'd like to give this place 2 1/2 stars but it's a pleasant atmosphere with a slight touch of class and decadence. I'd try it one more time but not sure I'd recommend it to anyone else unless my second visit is a lot more positive. I was with other people and really hesitated to complain. read more

We had a Groupon so we went in for dinner. We sat at the bar and had a few appetizers and a cocktail. We had the Salmon Tacos and the Pear and Gorgonzola Flatbread. Both were only okay. What seamed to be missing was flavor. They looked and smelled great but something was missing. Maybe it was a bad night in the kitchen. There wasn't many people there but they were slow. Friends from out of town came to visit so we went to Interlude to hang out and eat tonight. The food took awhile to come out. No biggie. Then the manager turned the TV directly above our heads on full blast (literally the volume was maxed out on 100.) When we asked her to turn it down, she did and stated "oh I didn't think about you all." It's a bar. Bars are loud. Again, no biggie. The same manager delivered our food shortly after. The $18 salmon was about 2 inches long and about an inch wide, poorly plated and under seasoned. When asked if that is the typical size, we were told its prepackaged. The other 3 orders were veggie burgers. Specially requested items were missing from each (add pickles for example) and my plate had a dried smudge of unidentified food. I reported it the manager who was serving us and she said "it looks like a dirty plate, I can put it on a new plate for you." I frowned and she asked what I wanted her to do. It was a series of disappointing encounters. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because all of the food was comped by the manager without us asking. But it was done so through a message from our original server with no apology or discussion from the manager. Overall, it was just not a great experience, especially considering it's the Westin. read more

I'm staying at the Westin for a long weekend and decided to grab a quick Brkfst at Interlude. I can't speak for the lunch or dinner quality, but it would be worth a short walk to avoid this place for breakfast. No menu, just a buffet, food was bad at best, and the omelette cook was so backed up, that I couldn't even get some eggs. In the end I spent 20.00 for 5 strips of bacon. Just bad. read more

My husband and I spent Memorial Day weekend at the Westin. We ordered room service a few times; which comes up from the Interlude Restaurant & Bar. I'm sad to say that we were never satisfied with our food at any given point- we ordered breakfast one day, lunch on two days and late night menu one night. Breakfast was not impressive. It wasn't bad, but it was also not good- just no flavor. Lunch lacked flavor- tuna tataki is supposed to be full of bold flavors and beautifully plated. I was very excited to try it at this location, but it was honestly just sliced ahi tuna on a plate - which I can make better at home (I'm not a chef... maybe an amateur foodie, but I've had dishes like tuna tataki at a lot of different places). The caprese salad was completely flavorless; which I have to admit, takes a ton of talent. How you can take basil, pine bites, Parmesan cheese, garlic and olive oil and make it taste bland is a mystery to me- even if you didn't add a pinch of salt, these items taste GREAT together, so I was confused. The fried brown rice dish with the over easy eggs was delivered to us with scrambled eggs and the whole thing was dry and in great NEED of condiments; which were not provided, so we had to get creative with the dipping sauce from my flavorless tuna tataki and use it on his rice. The sauce on the rice made it less dry, but didn't make it flavorful enough for my husband to want to eat the rest of it. The buffalo chicken Stromboli was basically a buffalo chicken panini; which I guess would be fine if they called it that. When someone orders Stromboli they are expecting lots of cheese and pizza type crust - 1st and foremost, whatever else is in there should accommodate their taste buds. The Stromboli was nearly bone dry inside- it was like biting into an over cooked hot pocket; when you microwave it too long and all the cheese comes out of the sides and you have that dry crunchy bite with no cheese in it. I know you're supposed to sandwich negatives in between positives, but there's only one positive: The apple tart was good and we ate it all... Ok I lied- there were two positives. Julius is a sweetheart and he made me something that was not on the menu when I called late night with a craving. THANK YOU Julius for going above and beyond to accommodate me in my time of amazing craving- we appreciate you, greatly (hopefully somebody shows this to him). Other than those things, though, I would NEVER recommend the Interlude to ANYONE who has any tastebuds at all. read more

My husband and I chose to celebrate our Valentine's Day dinner date at Interlude. Located inside the Westin which provides for convenient parking options in Town Center in Virginia Beach. The decor is modern with a nice bar area. Guests seat themselves. We were greet by a friendly waitress named Jess. She gave us the dinner menu and also showed us the three-course meal that was offered. We had a Groupon, so we asked it could apply to the Valentine's Day special and Jess said that was fine! My husband and I were thoroughly satisfied with our entire meal: appetizers- spinach salad and bacon covered shrimp; entree- prime rib and rockfish; dessert- coconut cake and molten lava cake. We also had amazing service from Erin! She was very attentive and came to check on us at appropriate intervals. Our dinner course flowed smoothly. We will definitely be coming back to Interlude! Missing the last star because we thought it was more of a traditional restaurant. My wife had the sesame salmon with Asian slaw and it was a great portion of salmon.
