I stopped by Jason's Deli today during the middle of the lunch rush, so waiting in line for a few minutes was completely expected. What stood out to me wasn't the wait it was the exceptional customer service. A gentleman (I'm not sure if he was the manager or owner) kept apologizing for the wait and even offered me a free cookie for the inconvenience. I politely declined since I'm not much of a sweets person, but the gesture itself meant so much. I've always chosen Jason's Deli because the food is consistently great and the customer service has always been excellent, but today they went above and beyond. It's rare to see someone so genuinely focused on putting customers first, and I wanted to make sure that effort didn't go unnoticed. To the gentleman at Jason's Deli hats off to you. Our first visit back in a couple of years and we were wowed from the beginning to the end. Quick ordering process, and they bring it to your table. I had The Carmela which was a bit spicy due to crushed spicy relish. My wife had the Big Chef salad with their ranch dressing. She loved the unique taste of their ranch. It truly was Big! This is my first time here and I would say that the New York Yankee is the best sandwich I've had on the east coast. Jason's Deli is our go to spot! I enjoy the loaded baked potato (Mary Jane with extra everything is my fav!). My hubby always get a baked potato (doesn't matter which one) and the salad bar. We also enjoy the free ice cream as everyone does. Jason's Deli was amazing when I first came here in 2007 or 2008 but it seems that the excitement has died down a bit. The employees aren't as motivated or "happy" as before. Also to booths needs a little attention and the rags that are used to wipe the tables need to be replaced or washed with bleach. The customer service back then was amazing! But, anyway...moving on. Overall, I do like coming here (but will miss the "attention" that the restaurant itself received before. read more

Jason's Deli is a fast casual chain restaurant. You order at the counter then find a seat, they will bring your order to you in a few minutes. My wife and I love Jason's. We enjoy many of the sandwiches, wraps, potatoes, soups, etc... Some of my personal favorites are the Carmela, Papa Joe, California Club, Deli Club, Club Royale, Reuben The Great, New York Yankee, Beefeater and Steak Po'boy. If you can't find the exact sandwich you desire on the menu you can also build your own sandwich. They are fresh and delicious. The baked potatoes are pretty awesome too. They are available in Plain Jane, Texas Style, Pollo Mexicano and Chicken Ranch varieties. They are huge and delicious. They offer a few pasta dishes but to be honest I'm not really a fan of their pasta offerings. The soups are decent but not stellar, my wife really enjoys the Chicken Pot Pie Soup. Jason's offers several different salads but I always opt for the garden-fresh salad bar. It can be ordered as a side with an entree or for an additional cost on its own. Both versions are single serving with the difference being the size of the bowl or plate. There are tons of fresh items to choose from and I manage to pile my bowl pretty high on most visits. I'm usually full enough from the salad that I take at least half my sandwich home to enjoy later. There are several dessert offerings but with free self-service soft serve ice cream available to everyone I've never tried the other desserts. The ice cream is available in vanilla, chocolate and twist flavors. Put it in a cone or use a cup. Don't forget the chocolate syrup. Service is always great at Jason's. The restaurant is generally clean but sometimes there's a bit of a mess around the ice cream station and the bussing of tables my fall behind when they are very busy. It's been five years since my previous review so I felt compelled to update it. It's still a solid four star experience to me. My wife and I eat at Jason's often and always enjoy it. I've been here twice and before that I've only driven by thinking it's just another sandwich shop. Nope nope nope. Not even close. My first time was getting the amazing all you can eat salad bar. The selection on the bar is outstanding. So many options. I've also noticed the staff constantly filling up the empty spots and keeping it nice and clean. My second time, I ordered the Reuben The Great (Regular, they do have a thinner or leaner sandwich). I was not disappointed. Thick, tasty and such yummy goodness. The right amount of dressing too. Great ratio of items. Every single time I go to Jason's they are always super nice. I wish all sandwich places were this nice. The lady at the register was a sweet as can be. She was wearing a green shirt wish I could have caught her name. They made my sandwich perfect. My friend and I came to have lunch because my blood sugar was dropping. I got a Club. It was delicious. It was a lot. Had to take bread off or I wouldn't have been able to eat it. My friend got the ultimate BLT. It was huge. She said it was good. It looked good. Walked past this place a thousand times but today decided to try it. The woman at the counter was very friendly and helped me choose 2 sandwiches. I was impressed at the size of the restaurant because on the outside it looks smal,l but inside its huge with lots of tables as well as a salad bat and a desert counter. The salad bar is a build your own salad bar which I have to try next time because everything looked so fresh and tasty ova there. When you choose a sandwich it also comes with a drink and a chips. The desert bar also looked very interesting and I also will be trying that next time. They had a chocolate mint brownie that looked fantastic. It had been so long since I've even been to a Jason's Deli, I couldn't remember why I stopped going, but this location in Chesapeake served as an incredibly disappointing reminder. The sandwich I ordered -- "Reuben The Great" -- came out more like "Ivan The Terrible"... you're supposed to be able to choose between corned beef (gross) or pastrami, but it would be a huge help if they employed someone who could actually tell the difference between the two. Pressed for time, I tried to make the best of it, but just could not choke down that awful tasting, chewy corned beef, tossing most of it aside and settling for the remaining sauerkraut & swiss on rye. Quickie review because this location catered our meeting today! We typically order box lunches from here and I like that it's an all in one. There's a variety of sandwich/salad choices to include sides and dessert. I ordered a smoked turkey sandwich on white with chips and a sugar cookie. Though not much to my liking, you do get a little more bang for your buck with the amount of meat they put onto these sandwiches. I always have to take meat off! The kettle chips are a perfect match if you're a sandwich + chip lover and the sugar cookie was soft baked. This was only my second time visiting a Jason's Deli, with the first time at the Fairfax location. The first time left a pretty good impression on me, but I don't live close to one, so it's out of sight, out of mind. I had signed up for their birthday club and received an email for $5 off for my birthday. Seeing as how we were going to be in the Chesapeake area on Sunday, I figured I'd Google to see if there was one in the area, which of course there was, so my husband and I stopped for lunch. I ordered the Club Royale for us to split, which comes with potato chips. We chose the salt and vinegar. The entire restaurant was set up differently than the one in Fairfax, with the biggest difference being the salad bar. Maybe the one in Fairfax had a salad bar as well, but I don't remember it. Secondly, the one in Fairfax had a board listing all the sandwiches available. This particular Jason's Deli listed a few specialty sandwiches and a couple of soups and pastas. I was immediately confused because the menu seemed very limited, and I recall from my previous experience, there being more variety. Had I never been to a Jason's Deli before, I may have thought that was all they offered. But because I had been to one of the locations before, I knew that wasn't accurate. So my husband and I grabbed a menu from the to go side and ultimately went with the Club Royale. It is described as "smoked turkey breast, ham, bacon, Swiss, cheddar, leafy lettuce, tomato, honey mustard, on a toasted croissant". It was out in a jiffy; thick, meaty and delicious. Jason's Deli is a nice little sandwich shop. The prices are a bit pricier than other comparable sandwich shops. This location was clean and I received great service. However, if I hadn't had a birthday promotion to lure me in, it would not be my first choice. There is a lot of competition in the sandwich industry, and Jason's Deli just doesn't rank at the top for me for no reason than personal preference. read more

I've been coming to this location for the past 10 years and have had a great experience every time. I wish I still worked nearby so that I could visit it more often. Everything that we have ordered from here has been great!! If you go in around noon, expect it to be busy!! I like going either around 11 or 1:00 for lunch or 4 or 6:30 for dinner. Those times avoid the busy rush. Everyone is friendly at this location, and it's always so clean. Even the restrooms are spotless. Jeff is the manager. He's been here for a while now. Well, it's been a while since I have eaten here, but my son has been asking for it, so we came here right after church. They have new tables, chairs, and booths, which was nice to see. And the food was good. I loved the interactive nutrition guide on their website because I needed to be very mindful of my food choices, so it allowed me to set some parameters so I could meet a couple of goals. I tried a new sandwich I had never done before, The Carmela, and it was very good and very filling! 40 g of protein and a bit spicy. Love! Also, I tried a cup of their fire roasted tortilla soup. I usually get their tomato basil, and I love this one. Nice little kick on the back end. My son had the adult portion of the chicken Alfredo, and it was filled with lots of sauce and big chunks of chicken. He was happy. And of course they still have their ice cream and the salad bar but needed to stay clear because I know I would overboard on the calories on them (looks healthy but hidden calories everywhere!) It was my birthday and Jasons Deli sent me a bday coupon... Whoop whoop. So i stopped by the drive thru and ordered the Irish potato soup, and a brisket baked potato. I also got a chocolate chip cookie and a cranberry walnut cookie. (I luv sweets) There was a bit of a wait at the drive thru so I'd recommend ordering online and it'll be ready when you get there. But it was no biggie. The cashier was nice and had a smile on her face. They were very nice about taking my bday coupon and didn't give me any problems. When i got home i couldn't wait to eat. The potato was the size of Texas, so you get a big portion. The toppings were a little skimp though. They were stingy with the meat. Lol. But it was good! I absolutely luv the potato soup though... We got the huge potato with chicken and all the fixings - this one was pretty good (sorry no photo) However, we ordered the Mac n cheese, it was too watery, cold and the cheese tasted bland. My toddler lovesss Mac-n-cheese but if he doesn't eat it, something is wrong with it. We also ordered the avocado toast and that was a huge disappointment. The avocado quantity was not enough to use as a sandwich or cover each slice (which came with 2), the avocado was brown and tasted weird. Came here for lunch, ended up getting a club royal and a trip to the salad bar with baked chips. The food was good, and the trip to the ice cream machine for a cone to top it off made it worth it. The only thing i was wondering about was my bill that a 1 trip to the salad bar I thought was 99 cents extra but I was charged $4. I've been charged before , 99 cents when ordering a full sandwich but the lady at the cash register said that it's 99 cents if you only get a half a sandwich and if it's full it's 4$. I had heard many good things about this place from the gals who cut my hair and do my nails at Natural Elements so when I spent the entire day on Saturday I figured I'd finally give it a try. I got the mediterranean wrap which had hummus, some greens, turkey, cucumbers and tomato. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing. I got plain steamed veggies and they were what they were. Healthy but I was happy to see some healthy options on the menu so kudus to Jason's for being mindful of that. They had quite a few healthy veggie options on the menu (about a good 4-5 which is more than most places have). I wasn't overly impressed and I probably won't be back. There was a salad bar in the back with fountain drinks and a soft serve machine. If you order a sandwich they will bring it to you when it's ready by the number you are given to put on your table.
