Love!!! This is an assembly line sort of restaurant like a Subway or Chipotle. They also have an app where you can earn points. We order the southwest salad but with balsamic vinegar instead of the dressing it comes with. The portion sizes are big if you are eating there. Enough for my husband and I to split a salad. They are very accommodating for families. My 19 month old son likes to help greet other guests and yell because he prefers to NOT be in a high chair. They have never given us a hard time or even a glance. While there are tables inside, during the nicer days we find ourselves sitting at their outside tables. I do wish their outdoor furniture was a bit more comfortable it's totally fine for a quick meal. We now some here at least once a week. Maybe eventually we will try a different restaurant but right now this is our go to salad place. read more

I recently picked up lunch for takeout at Saladworks located in the shops behind Target on Greenbrier Parkway, in the heart of Chesapeake. I got the Grilled Chicken Cesar Salad. This is a large portion and certainly enough to share, unless you're famished. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the grill marks gave it a charbroiled goodness that really made this salad special. Food was pretty good. The person that served me asked everything that needed to be asked (bread roll, amount of dressing, asking if everything that comes on the salad by default is okay). Love the interior design. However my experience was detracted by the presence of 2 specks of crumbs that were left on the floor. Surely this place is a filthy irreprehensible vile pig sty! The employees need to do a better job of catching crumbs as they fall out of customers' mouths before they even have a chance to hit the floor. read more

I have been here a handful of times and typically come after I go to PureBarre looking for a healthier option! The food is fresh and there is plenty to choose from. I have yet to try their sandwiches and soups. The service is a bit of a mixed bag. I have gotten really great servers and not so great ones. I think they need a bit of a lesson in professionalism. Yesterday several customers walked in after 7:30pm and the one girl who was by herself on the serving line was SCREAMING to the back of the store for another employee to come out. Then that employee came out and gave nothing but attitude. I get they were trying to wrap up for the night, but this doesn't make me want to return. the asian salad was good and fresh BUT was supposed to have chicken in it. only thing that resembled chicken were these tiny fried pieces that have something hard inside. i assume this is the " chicken" . you should have just left them out. the salad was great otherwise. read more

Meh. Out with family in the area for them to visit another restaurant, and I decided to come here. I love a good salad, and seeing this store, I got excited about what was to come. I checked out the menu and got the Southwest Chipotle Ranch. This salad comes with at Iceberg/Romaine blend with corn, tomatoes, avocado, and the like. Despite the cost of the salad, I felt that I could have gotten a bit more, as it wasn't very filling. This generally isn't my experience when I frequent other salad fast casual chains. Based on some of the other reviews, it appears that there is an inconsistency on the size of the salads.... The staff was friendly and patient as I made my decision, and I was able to try a brand of granola bars that I now consider my favorite, so all is not lost. I was SO excited when Saladworks opened closer to my home last year. I have stopped in 3 times since their opening and each time I hope against hope that they will meet the standards of their Hilltop sister. As of yet, they haven't quite hit the mark. Yesterday I dropped in to pick up a couple of salads to go. On our first visit, my husband and I were disappointed with the service, which has since improved slightly. On this visit, I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I was pleasantly surprised. The bar has always been stocked with fresh ingredients and the place is pretty clean, which always makes me feel better about where I choose to spend my money. I had 2 separate employees make a salad for me last night and the differences in portion size were notable. The 2nd salad, made by a fairly new employee who had to keep looking at ingredients (not a fault.. I imagine it's difficult to learn them all), was easily half the size of the salad made by the experienced employee. They were the same salad less 1 ingredient. My recommendation would be to offer more consistent training to newbies. On my first 2 visits, I ate in and they served the salads in their own mixing bowls, which is not at all the standard of Hilltop. I'm not sure if they don't have plates or if they just don't want to wash the extra dish?! Either way, it's weird.. and makes for a slightly unpleasant dining experience as my fork clangs against metal with every bite. Maybe it's just me, but I like to dine on dishes and not in those weird metal mixing bowls. I hope they eventually change that practice and work on portion sizing so that I can get as excited about this location as I am about Hilltop. They really do have good, fresh food, but it's not worth the prices just yet. I definitely want to spend $10 on a salad that fills me up! read more

My only complaint is that you can only have 5 toppings for a create your own salad and it feels like a lot to pay for that little. I like the vibe of the place though. Came here for lunch with some coworkers. Love the salads, so many different options and their pretty huge/ filling as well. Normally don't get soup but saw they had a lot of different options as well so I went with the lobster bisque, very creamy and full with flavor. Not sure why I haven't tried this place out yet since I live just a short walk away from it. But I received a coupon in the mail for $4 off any entree (includes combo too). I ended up getting a Cobb salad and subbed some stuff out for no extra charge which is great! I was given the option to have either white or wheat bread with my salad and I chose white bread with sweet tea as my drink. The food was great, I probably should've stuck with medium dressing but I went overboard and asked for a little more Medium would've been perfect! The salad was fresh, the bread was fresh and the sweet tea was on point. Last but not least, customer service. I didn't get her name but she had an excellent attitude. Very helpful and attentive. I'm a dum-dum and didn't realize there were avocado in my salad already (I couldn't tell) so I asked for some and they gave me some anyway. I walked in expecting a great salad ! That's exactly what i got . The customer service was great, i had a few questions that were answered , the young lady walked me through the process of how to make my salad and i walked out with a nice salad, chips and a cookie ! The only down fall is the price $14 for one salad (does not include the price of my cookie and chips, everything together was about $20) and only 5 topping choices is a bit crazy but hey i still chose to eat there just to feel it out ! I ate the whole salad UP, it was good, even thou there was about 8 more toppings i would of added it was good . Also the cheese is included in one of your topping choices leaving you with 4 left . I tried them for the first time yesterday and it was so good. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was because the Salad Dressing (Blue Cheese) was not house made. Don't get me wrong, the food is incredible here. Fresh and flavorful, and you can customize everything so it's just how you want it. The staff is also lovely, very friendly...but they seriously need more training. It took one of them five tries and ten minutes to get my ingredients into a wrap and even then it was almost all tortilla as about a quarter of the ingredients were lost in the previous attempts....and now I know why they were out of flour tortillas. Also, they're not too sure of the recipes (Buffalo bleu wrap didn't really need a quarter cup of banana peppers, and they weren't shown as a listed ingredient.) I love the food so I'm not going to write the place off yet, but I do hope there is more training/supervision of struggling employees in the near future. Also? Location is usually good. Came today (5/23 @4:00) and we were told they had no grains and it would take too long to make some. They close at 6:00 pm. Our family of four left to go eat elsewhere. Not sure how they intend to stay in business if they don't have one of their staple items to make bowls and are not willing to replenish to be able to serve people. I created this review in hopes that the franchise owner sees it. Even though the employees were completely unbothered, I feel confident the owners would not be too happy about missing out on a $50 order. Finally decided to try this place today after working out and craving something green. It was SUPER busy during lunchtime (which is definitely always a good sign). I ordered the Farmhouse Salad to go, and got a Watermelon Basil Agua Fresca to sip on, and it did not disappoint! Super fast service, everything was clean, and the produce looked/tasted fresh. First time visiting without pre ordering. After the lunch rush around 3, went in for a grain bowl. Their was one customer in front of me and she was being assisted by a young lady. Another employee that was at a table eating lunch, stepped back behind the counter and asked if he could help me. He immediately begin to prepare food. He put gloves on without washing his hands and proceeded to take my order. There were still crumbs around his mouth. If an employee is on break, they should be on break and should ALWAYS wash hands before putting on gloves to prepare food. Hope this establishment does a better job educating employees.
