This Panera Bread moved about a year ago from the Parkway Place Shopping Center to the Lynnhaven Mall area. They are a standalone building to the right after entering into the complex from International Dr. I come here frequently. This is one of the first Panera Bread locations I have been to that has a drive through. My most recent visit was on November 19, 2022. There is ample parking available, but you have to be careful when making turns, as it's extremely easy to go up the curbs. Hopefully in the future they change how the parking area looks. Definitely no curb appeal here. Also, Bank of America is next to Panera Bread. There is parking over there for the bank, but don't park there if coming to Panera Bread during the bank's normal business hours according to signage there. This location is larger than their original location. The inside is bright and is similar to other Panera Bread locations. There are three kiosks where you can order on inside, but you can also order ahead on the app too. There is an area where you can order with someone there as well. Panera Bread has an Unlimited Sip Club. This is a drink subscription of sorts. For $11.99 a month, you can get unlimited drinks (every 2 hours) at any Panera Bread location. I have been doing this for a while now, and I definitely use it more than the monthly cost if I were to order separately. I would say that if you are getting a drink here at least 3 to 4 times a month, you should join the sip club, as it will save you more in the long run. Although most of my visits are to get a drink, I do occasionally order food items here as well. At breakfast, my go to is normally a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich on brioche. At lunch and dinner time, I have a few items that I go to. I generally choose between the Bacon Turkey Bravo, Chipotle Chicken Sandwich Melt, or a flatbread pizza. In general, the food has been really good. One thing they should work on though is that sometimes, they can get a little overcooked. I have seen this especially with the breakfast soufflés. Overall, this is a great location overall. The staff are friendly and courteous, and will ask if you have any questions, even if you were just looking around while waiting for an order to be ready. I have met the general manager here several times and he is great to talk to. If an issue arises, he is quick to have it addressed. If you are in the Lynnhaven Mall area and looking for a drink or some food, this place is worth checking out. read more

Stopped in for lunch today and found it to be spotless and open and contemporary. Since this is a new building in the BoA parking lot - it has a drive-through and tons of windows and natural light. This is not the wood grain and fireplace hang all day version. This is more modern and classy. No one inside at all so I ordered at the kiosk and my food was up in less than 5. Originally I would've given one or two stars but Brittany was the best! When we entered into this beautiful Panera, it was pretty empty, clean, and quiet. We approached the counter to order and waited. No one said anything. There were two women behind the counter (one making bread and one just standing by the register (with her Panera beverage and purse in hand) watching us. Noe one said anything...not even "hi, someone will be with you shortly." I understand that employees may be busy, in the restroom, etc., but customer service is important. After a bit of a wait, Brittany appeared! Like a ray of sunshine! She welcomed us and apologized for the wait. She was very polite, informative, and welcoming. I had a great experience. This Panera is located across from the mall parking lot so it was a short walk from the mall and a better selection of food than mall food. They do have their own parking lot but its small and its shared with another business so you might have to park in the mall parking lot and walk over if its busy. Customer service was great. The wait times were pretty short despite it being busy and our food came out perfect. The only thing was, my favorite drink was removed from the menu which is the blood orange. I ordered one of my staple you pick two meals - Frontega chicken sandwich with bistro french onion soup. I did change it up sightly by choosing a bread bowl. Definitely hit the the spot. The bread here is always tasty and the soup nearly always so. This batch was exactly what I wanted after a less than stellar day. I spent around $25 bucks, but only because I also tried a cup of the new chicken Tikka Masala Soup and had a drink as well. It was not something I would order again. It is a soup consistency chicken tikka masala sauce, with some veggies and bit of rice. The description mentions it has chicken in it and if there were any chunks of chicken they were masters of disguise or super finely ground. I even had my friend try to find one. He failed. Overall I'd rather have chicken Tikka masala elsewhere. Friend had the smokey buffalo chicken melt. Our reactions to it were both 'its ok'. Does it inspire cravings? No, but it was nicely filled with toppings, honestly huge for half a sandwich, and made on a pretty delicious baguette. I just think it wasn't our cup of tea, though it might be yours. He also ordered a Fuji Apple Salad, which is one of my favorites and a usual suspect in my pick two rotation. This time he switched it up and decided to try the green goddess dressing instead of the normal white balsamic apple vinaigrette. I tried a bite and he can keep the green goddess. I definitely missed the tart punch of the white balsamic. Between the two us we spent around fifty bucks. Not the cheapest meal, but something I'm happy to visit on occasion. I work across the street from this location and so whenever I feel like Panera this is the quickest option for me. Their rapid pick up and their delivery is fast and very effective. These would be the two options I recommend. When ordering inside I have always had issues and waited much longer than the other two options. Though their servers are very friendly, they don't know anything about the food they serve. When asked about the differences in certain food products, they will just come right out and say that they "have no idea" and aren't interested in finding out - lol. Perhaps there's no quick, easy way for them to look up ingredients, etc.? I don't know. Panera is OK. It's certainly better than eating at Mcdonald's or Taco Bell, but only by a couple of steps. I've always had good experiences at this location. I definitely recommend ordering from the tablets inside or ordering from the app from your table or ahead of time if taking food to go. Especially during lunch time, the line can get kind of long. I love that there are different ways to order and My Panera Rewards is a great incentive to eat here. Staff is usually pretty friendly with the occasional one or two people having an off day. No biggie. Bathrooms have always been clean when I go so that is nice. I sometimes bring my laptop to get work done because it's a nice atmosphere, not too loud. My first time was a great time!! I had no idea this location existed. When a co-worker suggested we meet here for a meeting, I was so headed to the location off of Virginia Beach Blvd...but this location is where I was supposed to be...well here we are and I love it here!! This location is almost tucked away from the Parkway. I visited on a Friday about 2pm and it was not packed to my surprise. I figured being minutes from Lynnhaven Mall we would surely catch the lunch crowd. But when we arrived my guess is that we missed it or people chose another option (there are several eateries in the area including: Chic fil A, Popeye's, McDonald's - it's a plenty). I ordered online for the first time too. I signed up for their rewards program and every so often then send dollar(s) off deals, freebies and rewards for just coming into the store making purchases. Well I hardly ever visit Panera, but I am a member and I saw I had $5 to use towards an online order...and it was to expire soon - talk about perfect timing!! So yeah, I ordered my meal online and it was a breeze!! I chose the date/time and paid for it online. It's called Rapid something...but when I arrived, it was there waiting for me (the huge receipt with my name on it and all). My coworker and I were able to find seating in a booth too - this was just the perfect day!! I had a seasonal salad that was sensational!!! It was the poppy seed and fruit (strawberries, pineapples and more) salad - check out the picture! You can choose half salad or full salad and I believe there is a half salad/half sandwich option too - but I chose the full salad. And the salad was sooooooooo filling for me!! The pecans though in the salad, theeeeeeeee bestest!!! I mean I literally did not leave one speck of fruit or lettuce in my box. Oh yeah...when you order online they package your meal for you. I guess this is just in case you decide to take it to go. The salad also came with a hard piece of bread...I didn't care for that, but it's included! Recommend here...why certainly!!! The parking lot is a bit tight, so beware of that. But fast and on point service - oh you should definitely experience that here. My only side eye, would be the dining area of the restaurant. I didn't see anymore monitoring the area for trash on the tables or floor. So the dining area was a bit untidy. Nevertheless, there was an employee that came around and asked if we were ok...so maybe she was getting to cleaning up the area. The pricing is ok - I'm thinking for a chain restaurant it's a bit much, but my $5 coupon came in quite handy - so I suggest you sign up too. Went to new Panera Bread location. Was disappointed to find they took my favorite drink off the menu! The Blood Orange beverage.. was it the ridiculous name that made it a poor seller? Idk but it was so good, I'm so disappointed it is gone! As for for the new digs, it's wide open, no cozy booths, it's evident they want you in and out, not like before, where some would find a cozy place to work on a laptop etc. No more fireplace. Positives are a drive thru and outdoor seating, but a roof would have been nice. All in all,not the cozy retreat it used to be. Just another place to grab a sandwich and beverage. read more

They are having some sort of meeting right next to us as I type this and I want to tell them to quit yapping about the sales points and start training your folks that messed up our order. We asked for spinach & artichoke soufflé, coffee, a plain bagel, and a pecan braid. Love the new decor & location. Food was good, but not efficiently served. Staff member at the pick-up window was not effective. Text notification was not working, nor was the order screen on the wall. Before leaving, I ordered a bagel to take home. My order flashed 'Ready' on the wall and disappeared. The staff member at the pick up window would not acknowledge me. A second staff member also ignored me at the register, while she ate at the counter. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they would bring my food to my table. I guess it had been a while. I'm used to standing at the counter waiting for my buzzer to go off. I had the turkey, egg white, spinach breakfast sandwich. It was the perfect portion to start off my day. I also had the pumpkin spice latte. Unfortunately, it was too sweet. I was not asked if i could kindly wait while this employee assisted the other customer, and then my card was still in possession of the restaurant inside while I didn't receive any of my food or drink that was grabbed and then left on the counter. I was expected to wait without explanation. Completely unprofessional. Another nice employee sensed my concern at the window in my car, as I waved for assistance. She apologized for the other employees responses to the matter, but that is completely unacceptable. Panera is my go to spot to have myself a light lunch. It can be a hit or miss at times.I actually like the convenience of the llocation except for the parking situation. It can get pretty busy. It was my lunch hour and there was no parking to be found except for in the very back of the building. The plaza location has many shops in the vicinity so you have to beat someone to have the best parking spot especially during business hours. It is near lynnhaven mall and other restaurants like the new sushi king at the location. I like the convenience of being able to order on the portable kiosk menu. You can log into your panera account and then order from the screen. Then you grab a pager number and just wait for the ring. They are able to find your location in which you are sitting at with the pager. The service is convenient and I like that they were able to have a waiter come by to bring my meal and then make sure I am satisfied with friendly check-ins at my table to guarantee my total satisfaction. I ordered the clam chowder and it goes amazingly well with the baguette. I love scooping the mouth warming soup with the crunchy yet moist baguette that it comes with. You can also have other options of having an apple or chips. I also ordered the greek salad that contained quinoa,kale, romaine lettuce, olives, feta and the greek dressing. I liked the salad. It was not heavy and enjoyable for my light lunch. I did not like that there was quite a few flies buzzing around and it concerned me when I saw a fly landing one of the pastries on display by the register. It did have me shy away from the pastries. I did get me a free pumpkin muffin that I had in my rewards I received. All in all the flies were a bit bothersome but I was satisfied with my meal. read more
