I took the whole family to try Potbelly today after church. Kempsville location. Nice vibe and decor inside. Me and my 17yo son got the "big" Wreck sandwich. I added lettuce, tomato, onion to mine. Him, just lettuce and onion. Daughter got the "skinny" or small Cubano, stock. Wife got a skinny chicken salad, add lettuce and tomato, and the skinny prime rib or steak one, stock. I thought mine was really good! Nicely built, packed with meat and veggies. My only complaint was their biggest size was no where near the size of s giant at Jersey Mike's. Same price, but much smaller. Son liked his, but complained about the size. He wanted a giant like we are used to at Jersey Mike's. Daughter thought the Cubano was definitely good, but not awesome. She wouldn't get it again. Wife liked her steak one, but said it needed ALOT is seasoning, it almost had none. She didn't just want to add salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder, paprika. I don't think she was thrilled with it. The chicken salad, however, was really good. We were disappointed that bags is chips were the only sides with combos. Just like Subway. Nothing unique? They did have cookies, like Subway, and we tried a few of their lemon cheesecake cookies, and they were great. Overall, even though I really liked my Wreck sandwich, the overall experience, the meal options of chips or cookies, was underwhelming. I would go back, for sure, but alone. It's takes extra effort to make a meatball sub taste this bad. Congrats on dumping Chef Boyardee onto a soggy loaf of bread and calling it a day! All the effort went into using the can opener. They could've at least left the noodles in the sub for variety sakes. I've had better half eaten day old Hot Pockets than what you're trying to pass off. Cue the Jim Gaffigan jokes. Advice to others, go to the grocery store and get anything microwaveable. It will taste arguably better than what this establishment is serving. Was watching Sportscenter one morning and seen a Potbelly commercial and it looked pretty solid. Never heard of the place before hand so I decided to try em out for lunch. I downloaded the app, Placed my order online for drive-thru, it gave me a designated time for pickup and it was ready soon as I got there. Didn't disappoint! I got the Pick Your Pair Skinny Sandwich + Soup combo deal. Turkey breast sandwich on multigrain bread. Jazzed it up cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, oil and vinegar, and italian seasoning. Also added bacon for $1.69 extra. Paired it with a side of Chicken Pot Pie soup. Pot pie has a nice pie crust topping and the filling has a velvety texture but lacked a little flavor. A dash of salt and pepper brought it life tho. I stopped in for a second to wash my hands and the atmosphere is chill and welcoming. Open concept, vibrant lighting in there, easy to read menu, and clean bathrooms. I came because I forgot they opened in January, I finally came after 5 months. I got the prime rib steak and got a drink some dragonfruit thinking it strawberry dragonfruit not sure. Inside was clean as it was just opening up the store . It was organized I started to order but I think i should have waited cuz bunch of cleaning noises inside the back so could not hear the employee asking what I wanted. I paid for my stuff I bought than went back to the employee to tell them to put toppings in my sub or sandwich. Obviously I couldn't see so I had to ask where to ask to put that. Customer service was friendly and nice. Lots of seating on the right when walking in. The drink was delicious and the sandwich was a bit sweet but it was good for a regular sandwich. This is a really good sandwich ! Excellent soft chewy bread which is critical for a good sandwich, the meats were tender and flavorful and the options are plentiful. The sandwiches aren't the biggest but they're good. Service was quick and friendly, ambiance is casual typical fast food chain. I will definitely be back to try out more of the sandwiches but what I can say for now is the prime rib sandwich is go to! read more

I just had too stop and try this place! When you step in it's nice modern decore with ample seating on the right side. Plus the service was excellent! So with this place you see the menu on the wall you pick the type of sandwich and toppings. They also have wraps, salad and soups. I ordered their "Skinny Italian Combo " . You only get a choice white or wheat bread. I was surprised, cause other sandwich places have more choices that I am use too. Anyhow...the toasted sandwich was great and tasty! Just a "warning" they sell " Zapps" chips, and fry in peanut oil for those who have nut allergies! All in all it was moderately priced! I would come back someday. read more

I stopped by after the grand opening of Potbellys. Which I'm glad I did because I heard the amount of people there was crazy that morning!! It's located in the Fairfield shopping center. I've had them several times when I went to Richmond and National Harbor and I'm excited to have them in the 757 now!! Whoo hoo!! When I walked in I was greeted by the friendly staff. They have sandwiches, soups, Mac n cheese, desserts, and more!! They're kinda similar to Panera. I was on a mission for sweet treats. The first day I went they were sold out, but I went back a few days later and got the brownie cookie and oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. I sincerely wanted to gatekeep how good their cookies are so bad, but I'll be nice. They were both crackkkk!! I'll be passing by Crumbl to go here for sweets for a while. Check them out!! I absolutely love potbelly. However my most recent experience was not the best. I typically order extra deli mustard on all my sandwiches and it's never been a problem until today. Way overpriced, slower than other sandwich places. Also the general set up of the place is like other sub shops but you can't watch them make your sandwich or see the ingredients. Seeing the ingredients would have been helpful as the caramelized were nearly raw. I even asked the person making the sandwich if the onions were caramelized to which he replied yes. Typical fast food problems. Nobody cared about what they are doing. How on earth do they not get a 100 on there first inspection they is in general a lack of care to the whole operation. Ordered a Cuban, once I got to the toppings person, they mentioned they didn't have any pickles, which the menu says comes with it. As pickles are a key ingredient to a Cuban, I was very upset that I was not told this when I placed the order. I would have gotten something else if I had known. About 2nd week of operation and our first visit. We ordered soup and sandwich combo. They came back and said they were out of the soup we order. We asked what soups do you have. We order to different soups. They were very good. But had to take them home because they were out of soup spoons at 4:45 in the afternoon and we found that out AFTER we paid for our order. Our sandwiches were mediocre. Customer service was poor which translates to bad training and that all comes down the quality of management.. We will not be returning any time soon. read more
