At 637PM order status showed delivery was running late.
    Kristin D.

Based on the reviews, thought we would give ordering a try for some cheesesteaks. Ordered delivery and was advised it would he 45-55min. This was around 507PM. At 625PM food still not delivered, per the Yelp "track my order" feature; and at 638PM the app said delivery was delayed. Tried calling restaurant multiple times and it was ongoing busy. Finally called Grub-hub support and they say, they showed the order was delivered. I said well the app says my deliver has been delayed. Sure enough, food sitting outside on the ground and now luke warm. Have no idea when it was delivered, no knock, no update or alignment with the app. I understand that the delivery is by a 3rd party, though I am sharing so that you understand the experience customers may be having when attempting to order delivery from your establishment.

My awful tasting hollow skinny Plain Cheesesteak - WHOLE , cheese is non-existent.

Absolutely awful, a waste of my $27.10 . A 29 minute wait , 2 exhausted looking cooks ,1 cheese steak ,1 brownie, 1 fountain drink, more bread than meat , scorched tasting meat, didn't get the extra onions/mayo that I paid for . Foreign guy taking orders was so clueless . What happened to the friendly and family style like staff that used to be here with good customer service? Subs used to be stuffed fat to the max and so flavorful that you could save half a sandwich for dinner. I knew something was wrong when I read the room and the place wasn't packed wall to wall at lunch time like I'm used to seeing. I'm so disappointed and I wish I could get a refund, I've been coming here over 25 years and this will be it for me . This place used to be top tier and shake and move and have you in and out and satisfied. Great thing my other favorite cheesesteak spot in Virginia Beach -Philadelphia Cheese Steaks on Great Neck hasn't changed up at all and I'll continue to frequent there for great service and food. I'm gonna miss coming to Here when I'm Norfolk craving a good cheesesteak but it just doesn't hit like it used to. Wishing success to whoever did this!

12" with mushrooms and all the peppers. Divine!

ALL the ingredients tasted super fresh and cooled with loved. It took a minute for my order to come out, but great things are worth the wait. Staff was super friendly and the food was so good. It's beyond my ability to describe it accurately in words.

I been going to Philly's for years. I ordered a turkey bacon club decker. I dont know what I received. I understand that things change with new management but the food that made this place the go to place shouldn't changed. When I got the sandwich 1st it was so much mayo that you can make two sandwiches with it. The manager called himself remaking the sandwich and it was even worst. Club decker is suppose to be with 3 pieces of bread but it was only 2 and very little turkey and it also was suppose to be a large for $9.75. Needless to say I would never go back after over 20+ years of giving them my business.

Chicken Philly.. so juicy the bread got soggy

We had 5 orders placed for my coworkers and I. The lady on the the phone was pleasant and respectful. She said it would be a 25m wait. When I arrived, there was a long line of people waiting as well as people enjoying their food. By the time I got to the front, my order was already done. All of my coworkers were very content with their Philly cheesesteak. I, on the other hand, had the chicken cheesesteak with sweet peppers and onions (12"). It was extremely flavorful and so juicy that the oil seeped through the paper lol. Putting it in the toaster oven for later tonight. Great eats for sure!

Got the Philly special with meat and it was better than recent past. The prices have definitely gone up.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. Simply amazing food. It's a very popular spot. There is parking in the lot in front of the building and they have a pretty open concept dining room. Due to their popularity, there was a bit of a wait inside. We went on a Sunday and were surprised at how many people had the same idea for dinner. The kitchen and cook staff should be applauded for how quick they are able to cook and fill orders. The system they use to make the sandwiches quickly was impressive to see. We ordered the chicken phillies which is one of their staple items. You do have your choice of meat for your sandwich. They have a full menu of options so don't think it's only phillies available. Everything was delicious. We ordered our food to go however they do have a eating section as well. Oh and please be on time before they close. Once closing time approaches, they will prevent you from entering. Can't wait to visit again

Just moved from CA and happened upon this cheese steak spot - and I am glad we did! Cheese Steak with peppers, onions and mushrooms hit the spot! The large is big enough for 2 to people to share along with the pound of fries. Son had the grilled cheese sandwich that was also very good, stuffed with cheese. Highly recommend coming to this spot for a sandwich! They have different types if cheese steaks, as well as cold subs too!

The cheesesteak tasted good but for $16 you'd expect more meat. The amount of steak in the 12in is comparable to what you'd get at subway.

The description said seasoned cheese fries topped with shaved ribeye and American cheese. On the left side of the screen there were options to add peppers and onions and other things. I just wanted meat and cheese. I placed my ordered and then asked the young lady working if the cheesesteak fries is just meat and cheese on fries, right? She said yes. I said great that's all I want. Food came out and it's loaded with onions and red peppers. There was no option when I ordered to remove onions and peppers and I specifically asked the girl before they made my order and she confirmed it was just meat and cheese. So that was annoying. Also, when fries are served loaded with cheese the fries should be cooked until they are crispy these fries were mushy even the ones that didn't have anything on them. Some seemed closer to being raw. No tables only window ledge and bar stool seating, that was not the issue for me just wanted to make it clear in case you were looking for a table to sit and eat.

So we pulled up yelp and found fat Phillies. This is what I would call a classic Bodega/hood joint (They have all the flavors of Rap Snacks) that does a great job of serving up a good variety of sandwiches and sides at an affordable price. Now this establishment is housed inside of a convenient store in a strip mall that also has a Chinese food place and a couple of other establishments. This is a typical convenient store with groceries drinks and a couple of casino machines at the other end of the building. We pulled up to the counter as they were shutting down, so unfortunately, the wings weren't available. So we decided to go with the standard Philly cheesesteak, and fries. Sandwiches were ready in about 10 minutes and they were cooked to order. Both of us were very satisfied with the sandwiches. Mine did have a little bit of grissel and tougher meat, but not necessarily something I didn't expect given the price. I chose the Becca Burger, without mushrooms and their Steak Diablo Fries. They make everything fresh, to order with fresh ingredients. The burger was clearly freshly hand-packed, the jalapeños were freshly sliced, not pickled. Since they make it all fresh, you might wait a few minutes longer than the typical burger joint, but that's fine considering the amazing eats you're about to enjoy. My burger came out looking beautiful and it was definitely sitting tall! The flavor was excellent! Meat was great too!! I definitely liked having their chipotle mayo on it!! Those steak Diablo fries were incredibly tasty, with a nice kick, but sooo much more flavor than heat! Cheesesteaks are…read moredifficult to successfully replicate, despite the fact I generally enjoy the ones I've tried locally. In that respect, if you're looking for authenticity, King's Philly won't make that list. When I arrived, King's was empty. There was one employee at the counter, and I quickly noticed two kiosks against the wall to the right of the entrance. I made my way to the kiosks and noted that the employee didn't say a word when I walked in. I like kiosks mainly because I can see, right in front of me, the entire menu. I noticed an oxtail philly, a bulgogi philly, and even a salmon philly on the menu. With this being my first time here, I decided on a regular old philly - in this case, a Classic Philly Beef. I ordered that and made it a combo (French fries, can of soda). After I ordered and paid, I sat down at a table and waited for my food. As I waited, I noticed that King's Philly is connected to Sushi King. Sushi King has been consolidating their space the past few years as they converted the other end of their suite into a Domoishi, and now this space for King's. By the way, King's interior is bright, colorful, clean, and organized. I waited maybe 10 minutes - the girl at the counter informed me my order was ready, and I picked it up at the counter. There are no fountain drinks available (a drawback, imo), but there is a fridge at the counter where you can choose your soda (cans). There is a second fridge next to it which has bottled drinks. The Classic Philly Beef was okay. The beef wasn't sliced ribeye and honestly tasted like frozen beef that was defrosted and then heated up on the flat top. The philly wasn't rotten nor was it bad, but it wasn't outstanding. And for $14-$15 for an 8" sub, I feel it needs to be outstanding. Also, the bun/roll they used for their philly didn't hold up. It almost immediately fell apart and its contents (beef, grilled onions, grilled peppers, provolone) fell all over the place. I ate a good amount of my philly with a fork, so I wasn't able to enjoy it as a sandwich. The fries were decent - well cooked, so they were crispy. King's Philly is an okay cheesesteak option, but it's not a first-choice one. I was curious since they're new, but when/if I'm in the mood for a cheesesteak, I unfortunately will opt for another place. I will return, though, to try the oxtail and the salmon phillies. Maybe those will help me to become a regular, but the classic philly beef will take a backseat. Thank you, King's Philly! JV

The one young guy running the grille was friendly and recommended the cheesesteaks which I gotta say as a lover was suspicious. The price was affordable for a footling around $10 and added a bottle water and tip came to $13+ The cheesesteak was completed in around 8 minutes wrapped up and in a bag with napkins. I popped it open in the car and was amazed at the pure size and amount of meat. The smell was glorious with steam waffling above. The bread was fresh and authentic to Philly. This one was the closest, so I parked and went up to order a sandwich. The place is cute inside, bunch of Eagles memorabilia lining the walls, the big open counter you can see the kitchen through. Good vibes, I liked it. I had looked on their menu before to see what sounded best, and I decided on a mushroom and cheese along with a regular hot dog. The man at the counter explained my topping options. So, I got onions, ketchup, and mustard for the dog, and sweet peppers, mayo, mustard, and grilled onions for my sandwich. He wrote it down, and said I'd pay once my order was called. It was fairly quick despite seeming busy with the start of a lunch rush. I paid, and went to my car for a quick bite before wrapping and eating the rest at home. First impressions, it was hot but not burn your tongue hot. The sandwich was also huge, and the hotdog a decent size. The hot dog was split in half and grilled on both sides, which was a nice texture enhancer. Could've used a little more condiments, I'm a condiment person, but it was a solid dog. Buns were toasted a little and they flattened out a bit, which was nice. It was a good dog to bun ratio. As for the sandwich, I was super excited for it. The bread is nice, spongey, not crisp. The meat was fine, good quality and chopped nice. It was cooked, a little dry but greasy. Cheese was great. Loved the melt and flavor. Sweet peppers were almost like pickles, which added a good balance. Mushrooms were sliced so thin it blended really nicely into the meat. Onions added more savory to the meat. The mayo and mustard made it a bit more moist. Overall, it was a really great, greasy, messy lunch. They did give me a bunch of napkins which helped a lot. I can see myself coming back again, and most definitely will. If you haven't tried this place I would recommend putting it on your list, it's a great spot!

The whole trip to deliver the Dash order, I made up my mind that after the end of my shift, I would return to find out if the food was as tasty as it smelled...they did not disappoint!!! I ordered the Philly Steak and Cheese , it was seasoned the way I like , with the right amount of onion and green pepper, the bun was grilled to perfection. A little more steak on that sandwich would have earned them 5 stars. My Mozzarella sticks with Maranara was good and just enough to satisfy. I WILL be back, stop by and let Super Extreme dazzle your tastebuds!!!!

Do NOT waste your money. We are in town for the night. My birthday eve, for a track meet. Our…read morefamily planned on going to dinner to celebrate my birthday, but we are pretty tired so we decided to order takeout. We found this place on door dash. The ordering was overly confusing on DoorDash, charging for each and every topping and condiments. So my husband suggested I call the order in and he'd pick it up. Upon answering the phone the restaurant team member informed me they were pretty backed up and it would be approximately 45 minutes until pickup time. As I began to order something told me to just hang up the phone, I now wish I would have. We ordered a half buffalo chicken hero, for me, a whole super cheesesteak hero for my husband and a personal pepperoni pizza for our son + 2 orders of fries. The chicken on my hero was literally microwave chicken nuggets! I had two small nuggets cut into little pieces on my sandwich. Please see the pictures. My hero was mainly bread and lettuce. It was also mushy and looked nothing like the buffalo chicken sandwich advertised. My husband's Philly was soggy and not appetizing. It's very unsettling to receive food that looks like it may cause you to feel sick. Our son's pizza looked like a frozen pizza. Cheese similar to what kids get on their school grade pizzas. Yuck. Over priced microwave food is exactly what we received. This place is a rip off and should update their menu advertisement photos asap. Fraudulent marketing is not ok. We spent $50 on two subs and a small pizza. We should have just made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and called it a night. At least that way we would know our stomachs would be ok in a few hours. I decided to trash my meal because I found hair in my sandwich. The fries were old and cold, you could tell they had been sitting for some time, as the subs were still hot. Just totally ridiculous, super extreme heros, they were NOT. My husband did say the restaurant location was cool. Seemed clean. Was not busy like the lady on the phone said it was.

One thing to note is that this place is technically "The Cheesesteak Shop"... you'll see it on the menu when you come in. Rick's is a staple of a name in the Hampton Roads area. Rick's is a name that is synonymous with great Cheese Steak and if you visit them all you'll notice differences in the recipes/flavor amongst them. We were at the one in Williamsburg one week, then went directly to this one the next week later. This one, the meat is slightly more seasoned with pepper or something with a mild heat. Nothing crazy, just noticeable. The bread was a little wet and I really would've preferred it being more toasted. Overall, it was an 'ok' cheese steak. I was going to rate this a 3 but overall I give it a 4 b/c the service was friendly enough to warrant the boost.
