Stopped in for lunch today. Food is ordered through touch screen kiosks. Selected the Philly Cheesesteak Fries. The description said seasoned cheese fries topped with shaved ribeye and American cheese. On the left side of the screen there were options to add peppers and onions and other things. I just wanted meat and cheese. I placed my ordered and then asked the young lady working if the cheesesteak fries is just meat and cheese on fries, right? She said yes. I said great that's all I want. Food came out and it's loaded with onions and red peppers. There was no option when I ordered to remove onions and peppers and I specifically asked the girl before they made my order and she confirmed it was just meat and cheese. So that was annoying. Also, when fries are served loaded with cheese the fries should be cooked until they are crispy these fries were mushy even the ones that didn't have anything on them. Some seemed closer to being raw. I ordered the surf and turf phillysteak cheese sandwhich with french fries. The surf and turf comes with a few pieces of shirmp over top of the phillysteak meat. It also had their special melted cheese over it. The fries were really seasons and good! My food was freshly prepped and neatly bagged. Ordering is done through their tablet/kiosk, which is totally fine. However as a newbie to this place, I had a few questions and was hoping for some recommendations from one of the experts. The gal who was standing nearby acted as if the questions were a major inconvenience. No eye contact, one word answers, etc. After placing our orders, the food came out semi-quickly. We requested them to be dine-in, but they were packed to-go instead, so we decided to just take them home. When we got back to the house, we realized that neither of our meals were prepared exactly as ordered. I spent over $100 on 4 subs, 1fry, 1 loaded fry, and a lemonade. I don't mind spending a lot of money when the food is amazing, but not for food that is "ok". Checked this place out on a Saturday around 1. We got there just in time to put our order in the kiosk immediately. There are three kiosk setup to order and one was down at the time. By the time we were done there were at least 20 people that came in to order. Establishment is very small and has not seating or waiting area. There was one employee bagging orders and taking cash from Customers. In my opinion they can use another person to help with crowd control as it gets very packed quickly. You couldn't tell who was waiting from who still needed to order. Food took about 15-20 mins. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak with peppers, onions, cheese and mayo with Parmesan fries. Daughter ordered something similar. Food was fresh and good however our meal was about $40. Back in January, Yelp Elites were given the chance to check out Major Phillie for a complimentary meal consisting of a 6-inch cheesesteak, shrimp tacos (which were added to the menu permanently) and garlic parmesean fries. We'd never been there and had a bunch of questions for the staff. They treated us like old neighbors, bantering with us and were incredibly helpful. They told us how to order, and made sure we were taken care of from the time we walked in the door, to the time we walked out the door. Some might wonder about the wait time, but to me it just speaks for the quality of the food and everything is fresh. Came here for the first time on my lunch break with a co-worker. The staff was friendly and the Philly I had was pretty good along with the fries. Next time we came to visit we noticed some changes. The menu options and prices were different (which we liked) but also, we noticed a change in the Philly cheesesteak and fries. The meat now is more of a ground beef consistency which I personally am not a fan of and the fries also changed to be a bit thinner (which is fine but just unexpected). A Black-owned Philly Cheesesteak and comfort food spot is exactly what Granby Street didn't know it needed. Chef Allen and his crew really work hard to make every customer feels welcomed. I've been here twice and really enjoyed the food. They put a good amount of meat and cheese in their subs and their meat is of good quality. Both the surf & turf and the seafood cheesesteaks were pretty damn tasty (and went perfectly with a side of french fries and ranch.) I also highly recommend getting the watermelon iced tea with your food, it's the perfect drink to have outside when the weather is nice. I'm not sure what magic Chef Alan uses but this chicken has the same consistency as you'd expect from Philly steak meat. Very think and just perfect! The tacos- delicious strips of grilled jerk chicken, not dry not too over the top spicy! Some pineapple and I think mango? in the garnish with some delicious sauce! Didn't need anything else on top! Just amazing! The eggroll- not your chinese spot take out eggroll. This was like a mini burrito. Again the meat was splendid, flavor profile was legit like taking a bite out of a juicy delicious philly chicken cheesesteak but wrapped in a perfect eggroll shell. Amazingness! If you're not sure what to order just ask. Chef Alan will most likely be there and happy to offer suggestions! We'll be back to try some more deliciousness soon! Oh and last note...the silverware...it's plastic ware BUT Chef Alan even took this into account.
