I ordered the Ox Tail Cheesesteak and was very satisfied with it. Service was good despite them being busy. Price was a lot higher than I was expecting, but overall a good experience. I definitely think they could remodel the place a bit. The floors were pretty beat up and the downstairs eating area was a mess. I probably won't return but definitely recommend trying at least once if you're in the mood for a good cheesesteak!

Surf and Turf Phillie

I was crsving a phillysteak cheese sandwhich and I came across this spot on yelp. I placed my order online and scheduled it for delivery to my house. I ordered the surf and turf phillysteak cheese sandwhich with french fries. The surf and turf comes with a few pieces of shirmp over top of the phillysteak meat. It also had their special melted cheese over it. The fries were really seasons and good! My food was freshly prepped and neatly bagged. Usually when I order delivery my stuff is thrown around and not neatly packaged so I was glad that it was not like that. Would love to visit the spot in person one day!

Nice little hidden spot in downtown Norfolk recommended by a friend. It's very small but clean. The person taking the order didn't want to be at work that day. She wasn't rude but customer service could have been better. I ordered the oxtail egg roll, small chicken Philly and mango lemonade. Eggrolls were great!! Philly was just ok and lemonade was too sweet to drink. That's probably just a preference thing. I'll go back to get egg rolls

The oxtail cheesesteak is one of my go to's when I come to Major Phillies. I also like the jerk salmon philly and the egg rolls are great too! One of the best restaurants in the 757 area hands down and the customer service is top tier as well!

The cheesesteak was nice and cheesy! The meat was tender. I thoroughly enjoyed this classic. The bread wasn't too think nor too thick. The brothy flavor made this one to desire. The fries are the soggy long cut. I'm personally not the biggest fan of this style. The service was cool. You use the kiosk tablet to order and pay. I do have to say the ambiance is lack luster. It has a cool graffiti vibe in the front, but the downstairs is pretty empty. I feel like the decor is not complete. They have such a cool spot, I hope they are able to continue decorating it. Overall, a super good cheesesteak to satisfy that craving.

Checked this place out on a Saturday around 1. We got there just in time to put our order in the kiosk immediately. There are three kiosk setup to order and one was down at the time. By the time we were done there were at least 20 people that came in to order. Establishment is very small and has not seating or waiting area. There was one employee bagging orders and taking cash from Customers. In my opinion they can use another person to help with crowd control as it gets very packed quickly. You couldn't tell who was waiting from who still needed to order. Food took about 15-20 mins. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak with peppers, onions, cheese and mayo with Parmesan fries. Daughter ordered something similar. Food was fresh and good however our meal was about $40. I do want to try their oxtail cheesesteak so I'll return but definitely not in the weekends and definitely will prepare to take home as I wasn't expecting to eat in my car on this visit.

Sigh! I wanted to like this place so much. I wanted it to be better than Iggles so I can start going here instead. Unfortunately it was just ok for me. I spent over $100 on 4 subs, 1fry, 1 loaded fry, and a lemonade. I don't mind spending a lot of money when the food is amazing, but not for food that is "ok". I was excited for the drink choices, flavored teas, lemonades and what not. Also, the cheese whiz, and the seafood option on the cheesesteaks. Being from Baltimore, I was super excited to have an authentic cheesesteak spot with the shrimp option. However I was sadly disappointed by under seasoned meat, under seasoned shrimp. The fries had more seasoning than the shrimp and the meat itself. I don't think I'll be back for the food, maybe the drinks.

Hmmm...where did the food go???

Back in January, Yelp Elites were given the chance to check out Major Phillie for a complimentary meal consisting of a 6-inch cheesesteak, shrimp tacos (which were added to the menu permanently) and garlic parmesean fries. Needless to say, the meal was delicious. This time around, my girlfriend and I decided to head back for a 2nd round of cheesesteaks. Could this be a successful return or a Debbie Downer waiting to happen? Ordering was simple once we walked in. Go to the counter and use the touchscreen to select your meal. Both of us selected a 6-inch surf and turf sandwich (mine included ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, Provolone cheese and sweet peppers), Garlic Parmesean fries and bottled water. Like before, we dined in. And just like the last time, a very delicious time. The beef and shrimp were both seasoned and cooked to perfection and the fries were perfect. Within 15 minutes, my meal was......take a look at the picture and you'll see for yourself :) Once again, Chef Allen and his staff delivered. The drive from Newport News was truly worth it.

I ordered Cajun Salmon cheesesteak.. and it had no cheese or mayo no condiments at all just dry bread and salmon with peppers. I didn't think I needed to add or ask for cheese on something with cheese in the name. The stormy blue lemonade tastes like blue Hawaiian Punch and the fries were terribly salty. The only thing decent was the jerk chicken egg roll and even that was a 7/10. For a proper seafood cheesesteak I recommend Our people's soul food seafood unfortunately they were closed today!

When we heard there was a Philly Cheesesteak place that had cheese whiz, we had to take a drive. Parking was not to bad when we arrived. We opted for the paid lot just around the corner. When we arrived we ordered on computers. Kinda like you do at Wawa.. another Pennsylvania staple. Ordering was simple. Once we ordered we found seating downstairs which was great for my family of four. It was a tad bit cold down there but quiet. The walls all over had names of areas in Philly. It was great! They even had sports teams. The staff was great. They were always checking up on us and brought us anything we needed. I appreciate that extra mile. M The food arrived pretty quick. My favorite was the cheesesteak egg rolls! Nice crunch and good flavor. I loved the bread with out cheesesteaks. The whiz was not the best for me. Not sure why. It was slightly cold and had a lump or two. Other than that my steak was great. Next time I'm going to get American cheese and extra onions. My husband raved about his Jerk Chicken steak! He devoured it. In all we had a great time and enjoyed the food. I loved all the small Philly details around, especially the Herrs chips... another Pennsylvania staple!

Yeah, it's a no for me waited over 45 minutes for the order to be wrong. The customer service sucked definitely will not be returning! Food wasn't good at all I've had better. I ordered a chicken deluxe for reference

I devoured that!!!

Hands down best cheesesteak around here. I've been going to the same spot for over 20 years. It was closed today, so I tried Major Phillie!! I will never go there again. The service, the atmosphere and the food All 10 put of 10!! Will definitely be back.

Fries are not included, so each meal ended up costing about $16 for a burger and fries without a drink. We ordered the regular cheeseburger, the Cowboy with bacon, BBQ sauce, and American cheese, the Cobra Kai with cream cheese, pickled jalapeños, and jalapeño jelly, and the Classic Jack with caramelized onions, JB sauce, and dill pickles. Everything tasted solid, but nothing really stood out compared to other burgers I have had. I was also confused by the "dill pickles" topping since every burger already came with a pickle on the side. One downside was the limited menu. There were no chicken tenders or ranch options for others in our group who wanted something simpler. The restaurant itself is very small and does not seem ideal for larger groups. We had five people and needed an extra stool added to our table to fit everyone. Another group of seven ended up leaving because they could not sit together. That said, I would still come back if I were in the area since I did enjoy the meal for what it was . A special shoutout to the waitress with the bridge piercing. She was friendly, accommodating, and quick with service, which really stood out.

I chose the Becca Burger, without mushrooms and their Steak Diablo Fries. They make everything fresh, to order with fresh ingredients. The burger was clearly freshly hand-packed, the jalapeños were freshly sliced, not pickled. Since they make it all fresh, you might wait a few minutes longer than the typical burger joint, but that's fine considering the amazing eats you're about to enjoy. My burger came out looking beautiful and it was definitely sitting tall! The flavor was excellent! Meat was great too!! I definitely liked having their chipotle mayo on it!! Those steak Diablo fries were incredibly tasty, with a nice kick, but sooo much more flavor than heat! The fries themselves were great, perfectly crispy and tasty, but adding all those toppings truly made it special! Service was nice... I had a few questions and she was helpful with the answers. Burger options look phenomenal but I wouldn't know because I can't help but damn near always get the Junk Drawer (omg). Quality burger cooked to choice, my only gripe is within the last year the chefs had to have been changed up because the burger don't taste as good as they used to (ie: tenderness, juices, quality of beef, idk but something has changed). Appetizers are solid, especially the mozzarella sticks and they give you cool spice options for the fries. I haven't had a happy hour here yet so I can't speak to the booze. Everyone plays on their phones through a QR code, so the room stays pretty calm. No shouting answers or chaos, just a lot of people quietly locked into trivia. I was seated immediately and ordered The Big Cheese burger. At first glance, it looked promising. The beef seemed like quality meat and not a frozen hockey puck. The vegetables were also very fresh. No sad, limp lettuce or those weird mushy tomato slices some places try to pass off as fresh. But here's where things went sideways: the patty had almost no flavor. I'm honestly not convinced it met salt at any point during its journey to the plate. It wasn't bad, just noticeably under-seasoned. For a place that positions itself as a serious burger spot, seasoning the meat feels like Burger 101. The fries were good. They offer different seasoning options, but I kept it simple with salt and pepper. I also ordered the Cheerwine sangria, which sounded like it would be something special. In reality, it mostly tasted like regular sangria that someone carbonated. Not bad, just not particularly interesting. Service was friendly and quick, which I appreciated. Overall, the meal was fine. But when your whole mission is basically "we're the burger experts," it's a little surprising when the burger tastes like the seasoning got left in the kitchen.

They were crunchy and tender on the inside. Getting to this location was super easy and they own their own parking lot which is free for patrons. If you're not able to find parking, they have plenty of paid street parking. I also want to add that they do offer discounts but to service members who are in uniform. Service members rarely ever wear their uniforms just to dine out unless they are on official orders or are working full time. I find that a bit unfortunate because the value veterans and military service members bring should be honored while they are and are not in uniform so I hope that the management changes that policy someday. They offer no other forms of discounts as I asked about teachers and emergency personnel too just to give people something additional when seeking this place out. It's still a good lunch spot tho.
