OK on the request of my son let me preface this with my middle son. My oldest son is very bougie about where he eats. My middle son has his preferences and burger. Haven was one of them. I found myself on that side of town noticed it was close by so I called my kids and asked them what they wanted from Burger King after spending $65. I was honestly not impressed to me. Their burgers are regular burgers. There's nothing over the top. There's nothing that stands out. My son swears up and down. It taste like a Cali burger, and because he kept telling me that I'm in my mind was thinking in not the case I don't know what my son thinks of Cali burger taste like I must ask him when I get back to the house at some point in time but this did not hit the mark for me. This place use to be an old Burger King I passed frequently when I lived in Chesapeake. I have wanted to try it out since it first opened but am never really out this way anymore. So I dragged one of my children to go and eat a burger. It's nothing fancy inside, only a bit of nostalgia from the old BK layout. We got there right at opening so no crowd. The food was fresh and the fries were hot. Pretty much that's all I need in a burger meal. I upgrade one of my drinks to a milkshake and again you can't go wrong with that either. While I really did enjoy my meal here it is still a bit out of my way to really say it is worth making the trek for their . We both had the classic cheeseburger, me a single and him a double, you can get a triple!!!! We got the meal deal where you get a side and a drink. Pros- simple menu & the girl who took our order was very friendly & nice Cons- Dirty! The restaurant itself was pretty gross. Floors were sticky & littered. Tables hadn't been cleaned and it was not busy when we were there so it was an opportunity for them to tidy up but clearly that was not a priority. The food is also extremely expensive and average at best. Not a bad burger but not a $10 burger either. For the same price, I could have had an actual sit down burger at other spots. Onion rings were definitely the frozen packaged variety as they had no flavor. The photos make it look like epic food but the flavors just didn't come through at all. Overall, it was an average burger in a dirty restaurant. Did not live up to the hype at all. We won't be coming back to spend $$$ on that food. read more

Visiting from Florida and our daughter told us about Burger Haven. From the outside, it looks like just a small, unassuming burger spot. However, don't let looks fool you! It's fast food, but not your typical fast food where the burgers are pre-made and left in a warming tray. They are real patties, made to order, and delicious. We also had the fried zucchini and cheese sticks. As long as we're here, had to try a bit of everything! In addition to great food, the employees are so friendly... as well as patient... while the five of us were trying to decide what we wanted! Waited in line terribly long- like 15 to 20 minutes long. From the hype and all the pictures I've seen I was fine to wait the long because it doesn't appear to be fast food quality. I upgraded my meal to a milkshake instead of soda and the milk shake quality is great! I got a side of fries and zucchini fries. I think I was accidentally charged extra for the zucchini fries and I got two sides of fries. Fries quality is fantastic. Big, thick, soft yet crunchy. I don't recommend the zucchini fries though as they were mushy and I personally didn't care for the breading - too sweet. Others may really enjoy them though so don't let my opinion deter you! The burger was perfect size and I thought the bun quality was pretty good and toasted perfectly. The pickles didn't taste very fresh nor did the tomato and I didn't care for their house made thousand island. I didn't think the burger Patty itself had much taste either. Over all I thought the burger was a solid 5/10. It wasn't awful, but I likely won't eat it again. In total I spent $24 dollars and I personally think that was priced a little high for everything....I have high hopes for this place as they are still newish and probably working out some kinks, but I likely will not be a repeat customer for a bit. Secret sauce, ranch, and Buffalo sauce on theBoth a nice size! Also got captain crunch milkshake that actually had a lot of Captain crunch flavor. I was really surprised. Little guy wanted a burger after the playground so I looked up places close and pulled up. Restaurant was clean, had an older dining room feel, and had a friendly greeting from the staff. The menu had a nice variety of burgers and I decided on the #2 bacon burger for myself and the kids burger for my mini me. Didn't have to wait that long for the food to be ready. First thing I noticed was the bacon was beef bacon. If you don't get down with the swine, you'll be fine. Personally I'm not a fan but kept an open mind. I got the double smash patty which I recommend. Burger had lettuce, tomato, onions, pickle, and burger sauce. The fries were a thicker cut and were salted to perfection. I was very pleased with the burger. The buns were toasted and the meat was seasoned. Again, not a fan of beef bacon but it was still good. Should have got a shake but was full. Hey, they're open! I've been keeping an eye on the building, which was a former Burger King when I'm passing through to hop on one of the interstates and it's been about 3 weeks since I was down there. I saw a review yesterday from Monica A. that they had opened, and the rest is history. Yesterday was Presidents Day and the perfect opportunity to visit Burger Haven for the first time. I had groceries in the car so I decided the go through the drive-thru on this visit. I was greeted by a friendly voice and decided on the Western Burger combo. Upon choosing your burger they give you the choice of 1, 2, or 3 patties and I chose a double. Since it's a Western Burger it also comes topped with bacon and slices of Swiss and American cheese all covered with BBQ Sauce. Located under the patties is a big onion ring. This is all inside a potato bun. By default the meal comes with fries as your side, however, there are other options such as onion rings, cheese sticks, jalapeno poppers, etc. My drink was a Coke. The wait in line was about 15+ minutes, which is slow. There were at least 3 cars in front of me. As it turns out the reason for the slowness is because they make their meals to order. While that's a good thing, they aren't prepared to make a lot of orders simultaneously when a rush happens. There is room for improvement there which I hope they'll master over time. The employee at the window was very friendly and inquired if I wanted extra condiments, and napkins, during the transaction. Once I was home I removed the burger from its foil wrapper and found the burger was also partially wrapped with some wax paper. I like this attention to detail, it keeps the burger from sliding apart and being a big mess. The burger was hot and juicy. The combination of all the flavors was excellent and was very filling. The fries come in a cup, and they're a thicker-cut fry. The closest example I could give you would be they're similar to Wendy's fries. I was a bit disappointed with the volume of the fries in the container. Whoever filled the container should have paid more attention. All of this came in around $16 and some change. Not cheap, but not terrible either. I think you get quite a bit more for your money here than say my recent review for Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. All in all, this was mostly a win on the first visit. Pro: Good Food, Friendly Staff. Cons: Slow in the drive-through line. The half-full order of fries. read more

Burger Haven worked hard to bring back the dignity of a neighborhood Burger joint. Just off the highway located on Great Bridge blvd inside the Food Lion parking lot. As it was lunchtime, the inside was pretty nicely packed. BK never had diners in there. I opted for the drive thru this trip. The wait was a bit long, I thought, guessing the order in front of me was large. I went with the basic classic cheeseburger. I added fries on at the window. A friendly young man added the fries to my order with a smile. Gave me my new total and offered a drink I passed. I'm not much for soda or sugary drinks. So, I had to disect my cheeseburger. The burger bread was just room temp more on the cold side, Burger fit the bun, and that's a plus. Special sauce, tasty. No ketchup, no mustard, eeeew, no mayo. It's just a tasty Burger haven Russian dressing type sauce. I wanted some on the side to dip my hot, crispy fries into. LOL. This place just opened a week or two ago so I was excited to try it. The sign in the drive through was pretty hard to read and it didn't have ingredients listed for the burgers (just said western burger or mushroom burger, for example) so I went with a classic burger. The wait time to get my meal was a bit long but I totally understand as they are still very new and getting their bearings. Also, the lady at the window taking orders was super sweet. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the burger and fries were. I expected a really greasy fast food burger but it was a big step up from that. The burger was wrapped nicely too which I appreciated. The burger sauce on the classic burger was also very good and the fries were nice and crispy, not too salty, just right. I'm excited about them moving into this old Burger King building that was sitting abandoned for some time, but I'm more excited to try other menu items like the Mac n cheese bites and onion rings. read more

We've had this on our list for a while and finally tried it out on a Saturday afternoon. I'm pretty sure it was a Burger King prior to becoming Burger Haven so it has the same ambiance of a fast food chain. The inside is the same, and to be honest, the customer service was much the same as well, the lady at the checkout didn't have much of a welcoming attitude and didn't even crack a smile. The place was somewhat clean. Hubby ordered the mushroom burger combo and a soda. I ordered the lettuce burger, and our son ordered the 10-piece chicken nuggets. We also ordered their jalapeno poppers. I was very impressed with my lettuce burger! It was delicious! The lettuce was wrapped perfectly around the burger. It had cheese, tomatoes, onions, and a yummy sauce and it was great! Their nuggets were very good. OMG the jalapeno poppers were amazing! Probably my favorite! All this for around $32. Not bad. Did not see a kids meal so had to get my son a full priced order for just a plain burger (nothing on it) combo. My wife got the mushroom burger combo and I got the Lettuce wrapped burger combo. First off the picture at drive thru will lead you to believe the lettuce wrapped burger is 2 patties but let me tell you that it is NOT! For the price of any of these combos...these should be double burgers at the very least. Just under $50 for a family of 3 to get burgers for dinner and a milkshake!!! That's no extras or add-ons. At the end of it all and all the money spent, was not even offered ketchup or napkins. Gotta train the employees better to make offering condiments a standard. There's plenty of room in the cute white box to throw in a few ketchups and napkins.
