We were hungry after the girls' volleyball game and decided on Bubba's 33. Neither one of us have been there before. We arrived shortly after 7. The place was packed but we were seated right away. There is a full bar and over 30 tv's. This would be the perfect place to watch several sports at once. They have bar, table and booth seating. The bathrooms are small but clean. I liked being able to see into the kitchen as well. Our server, Ariana, was an absolute gem. She promptly took our drink orders and our appetizer request. We got the combo appetizer which had boneless wings, twirly mozzarella sticks and fried pickles. HIGHLY recommend. Although it did take a little longer to get it, everything was hot and cooked perfectly. Ariana did explain how everything is cooked fresh so we expected to have a bit of a wait. For our entrees, I ordered the Monte Cristo with fries and my boyfriend had the sunshine burger with loaded tater tots. These took a lot longer to come out. We watched several people come, eat and leave before we got our food. Ariana kept us updated and was very apologetic. The Monte Cristo was the perfect balance between sweet and savory. The burger was full of flavor and huge. The loaded tots, unfortunately, they did not come out that way. Our server tried to get the kitchen to make a fresh batch, but to be honest, we were just tired and ready to go at this point. We are very empathetic when it comes to a busy restaurant. Ariana was doing everything she could to try and get our food on time and kept checking with the kitchen. I'm honestly surprised that the supervisor did not come over to check in. Our bill even had a charge for the games on the kiosk, which we did not play. However, we were just ready to go home at that point. The food was delicious. Our service from our server could not have been better. Disappointed with the management , I feel they should have been more helpful to the staff and to the customers. Especially since the order was not completed fully and we opted to leave without the requested loaded side. The prices are great and the portions are generous . I would love to try more of the menu! We I'll probably go back, maybe just at a different location or not around dinner time. It was a pleasant experience. If it were not for our server, my review would be a bit more critical. read more

First time last Sunday we went to Bubbas 33, and the waitress was phenomenal. She took our orders came back look like every 15 min to check on us. The establishment is a very very nice sports bar with the best food I have had in a long time. Stopped in this afternoon to catch a football game and this place did not disappoint from having all the NFL games, good food, and great service! Tried the nachos and they were delicious. Tons of chicken, could have used a little more guacamole but for only 99 cents more it was good! They came out with the requested items on the side. My wife and I were running errands, we skipped breakfast so we decided on stopping here for brunch! My wife has been here before but this was my first visit since they opened!. The bartender was very good and attentive, she was also kind of informative. The vibe was pleasant and relaxing as well. My wife ordered a pizza which was really good. My expectations wasn't high because I'm a firm believer that if I want pizza will go to a pizzeria but that is my personal opinion and preference on that! I ordered a smash burger that came with a double beef patty, I ordered loaded fries with my burger. The smash burger was good and so were the loaded fries. To start out, I'm no longer gauging restaurants with old expectations. I know we've all experienced how eating out that everything is declining and eroding away from what it used to be. The food quality is way down and so is the service. That's in general - HOWEVER!! That's not the case here. I've been enjoying this place since they opened and while some menu items have changed the quality of the food is also still good here! Which is truly amazing. I'm enjoying their consistency with the food quality as well as the service. The people working here are still courteous and very helpful which adds to the visit. Recommend by the hotel I was staying in. Very good service and lots of TVs for a sports bar style restaurant Had the ribs with dry rub. 4/1/2026 my 1st and last time at a bubba's i walked it to order take out. was tild to back near bathrooms to place order. no problem so far. i asked for cheese burger with mozzarella cheese and bbq. the gentle man wasnt sure the could do that and when to check. he came back and said yes then can do mozzarella cheese but bbq would be on the side i was asked to move my car to the side and he would bring food outbto me. i also notice screen said medium well inasked for medium i amnok woth medium rare but not rare so i usually try medium not medium well. All of my reviews are based on my expectation of the place into which I walk. Therefore 5-star sushi that I pick up at a service station might not make it up to 2 stars coming from Nobu. That said, I was in Portsmouth for work, and my boss said to go to Bubba's and get a burger. They are amazing, but you likely won't be able to finish it. So, I'm here and I did a bacon burger with french fries and the half appetizer of onion rings. The burger was absolutely perfect and done to the temperature I requested. It was an actual half pound burger. Good thing I was hungry, because I did manage to finish it. The onion rings, though, were the most amazing I've ever had in my life, and that includes my favorite Japanese restaurant in the states. These onion rings were actually tempura fried to absolute perfection. I ate at the bar, so my order was taken with, patron drinks, but I was always well taken care of. In fact, the manager dropped by to see how I like the place. Hearing that was my first time, hand wrote me a coupon for a free appetizer for a future visit. If there's a game you want to see while chowing down on some good food, you can definitely come here!! A good date night option if you're into sports! The service has almost always been great and they hire a pretty friendly staff !!! (Sans maybe 1-time we needed to get to-go boxes and had to wait a good bit for the waitress to return). We enjoy a sports environment, so the ambiance works for us, there's always decent parking. I actually don't drink alcohol, but there are some delicious mock-tail options and flavored lemonades. However, tonight the music in the restaurant was BLASTING SO LOUD we literally could not hear each other sitting from 1 foot away (and we were YELLING). Yes, the music is typically loud there, we get it, but each time we go eat now it seems like the music is getting LOUDER - and today it was RIDICULOUS! We asked our waitress about it and she was able to turn it down some and we thanked her. Why does the music need to be SO LOUD? PLEASE do something about the volume or we will be taking our dining money elsewhere. read more

Food was as expected, drinks were good and strong. Staff is always friendly but why the 4 starts... well the music is always good and loud but on game nights they still have music good and loud. Asked the manager to play the sound of the game and was told that they don't do that at all. At the other location the sound of the game is on for sure but ok they don't do that at this location. Came for dinner around 8, no wait to be seated. The wings are awesome- huge and crispy! The avocado bacon sandwich is my go to here.. chicken is well marinated and it's HUGE!!! Yesterday my wife and ate at Bibbas 33. We ordered the Black and Blue Burger and a 12" pizza. Both were delicious and filling. The burger was cooked to perfection with ample amount of blue cheese and delicious bacon! The pizza had an amazing homemade sauce with plenty of toppings, onto an amazing crust! Our server, Elise, was prompt, courteous, professional and extremely helpful. She made our visit very pleasant and inviting.....definitely a return visit is on our agenda. It's new so had to check it out. It's new so...it crowded and I truly mean that! Plan to wait! It's pretty spacious and it was packed, so many people, every table full. This place has a parking lot so parking shone an issue. Our server was really good and the food came out pretty quickly. I had a mule and it was definitely tasty! I might have had two we got some wings, shrimp and pizza. The food was ok, nothing really stood out, but was good. It felt like being at another chain restaurant, similar menu and food. Just like everyone else, I was drawn to the shiny new object (restaurant) in the area. It's clear that this area is just needing/wanting a new restaurant. I mean this place was seriously packed to get in. It was just a Thursday night. The way to get on to the waitlist was pretty cool. Everything is fully digital - text you, etc. After about 30 minutes, we finally got to go in. We were seated at the bar area and promptly helped. Gotta give them credit because they launched hard and went all in for service. Usually places need time to acclimate but it's clear they've done this before. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I had the mushroom burger and fries with a sweet tea. The burger Was juicy and tasty. The fries were a little thin but weren't that bad. This place has plenty of TVs so if there's a game you will see it. You literally can't turn your head anywhere and not see a television. We had a large party of multiple families...27 of us. It was a little chaotic at the beginning because of course the kids & teens wanted to sit with one another and the adults did as well, but the restaurant has a policy to not have customers on the same check sitting at different tables. I asked our waitress, Nyiah, if we could have everyone at the right table to order & then move to the seats where they were eating. She was so gracious to let us do that. The manager (I think) came out to check with me & make sure we understood their system can't accommodate us being on different tables/ticjets. She was so friendly & I loved that she was looking out for her servers, making sure we weren't making their job harder but was very respectful about asking (by that time we had everyone in the correct seats to order). There were other servers at our other tables too & while I didn't catch their names, they were all so helpful & always smiling. We complicated things by every ticket having a coupon & Nyiah helped us with knowing which items would qualify. At one point, one of the teens got accidentally missed by her server when orders were taken so when I found Nyiah, she added her order to our ticket & put a rush on it so it wouldn't come out later than everyone else's food. The food was great & excellent portions, it was a beautiful night to be on the patio, and our service was wonderful. Thank you for being so accommodating, Bubba's 33! Had a large group of 7, and enjoyed the food and service immensely. Best onion rings and garlic knots, ribs dry rubbed, wings and Monte Cristo. Burgers were large, tasty and made to order. Deserts, strawberry cheesecake and cookie sundaes, were great. As good as the food, our waitress, Chyna, was the best. On time, accurate and accommodating. We have already reached out to guest relations, and we're waiting for a response from the district manager. My overall rating was a 1 because of the general manager who came to our table. My husband and I were out for lunch, all my husband wanted was 6 wings well done, tossed in sauce. The server informed us that in their system if they make it well done, they cannot toss it in the sauce. We've had it done here before so my husband just asked if she could ask the kitchen to do it. She came back and said the manager said no. We just said okay, and had it made normally. We don't blame the server, she did her job & we still tipped her 20% because it's not her fault. Which was why I rated service a 5. Then the manager, who was the GM, decided to stop by she asked how we were doing and if everything was okay. At first we just said it was fine, we didn't really want any issues. But she persisted after we said we were fine & said "well you don't look happy? Are you sure there's nothing we can help you with?" So because she was insistent, My husband proceeded to tell her we've been here before and he understands that the wings well done get slightly soggy if they toss sauce. He wants them in sauce just not chewy. Which was why he wanted them well done. A very simple request. She explained to us that most guest return them when made that way, so she just "had to not do it for everyone because of the many who returned them before" and "she's been doing this for 8 years and knows best" my husband said he'd pay for it before it came out, and that we wouldn't be returning them, she said "that's what they all say"... The GM proceeded to tell us that it was "worth the loss of a guest not coming back, so she didn't have to pay for returning the meal" to which we were astounded. She then proceeded to say "well this is how I run my restaurant, and it may not work for you, but this is how I do things". Then left the table. The saddest part is we love the food that we've had here before, and it's never been an issue. I have never had a manager, let alone a GM, speak to us this way. It was extremely distasteful, over something that was such a simple request. It was $8 wings. If you're struggling with returns that bad, maybe fix the attitude and more guests will return and it won't be a problem. read more
