When we crave pizza, BABA's comes to mind. Pizza is thin, crispy and baked to perfection with fresh top quality ingredients. NYC Pizza at its best! I've had the famous garlic knots every visit! Also have had a large pepperoni pizza, meat amore pizza, pepperoni Stromboli, white margherita pizza, Bianca supremo pizza, calamari within multiple visits. My kids have loved every kids entree from spaghetti with meatball, Alfredo, chicken tenders and fries etc. We keep coming back to try something new, and everytime it keeps on getting better and better. Service is top notch as well as my drink is never half empty. Ambiance feels like a NYC pizza spot. Very glad we decided to try this place a few weeks ago because this has been one of our favorites. If you look back at my reviews you will see we have visited here a bunch of times over maybe 7 years. We don't live near here but come this way a few times a year. Today our meals were as perfect as ever. The wifey and I got the exact same things we had gotten before. The Strombolis are just that good and we can't bring ourselves to try something else. The brushed garlic butter on them makes stands out sooo much. Baba's never seems to skimp on the ingredients. They were full of wonderful tasting cheese, pepperoni and sausage. As for the location: I see they are updating the design and its looking good. Our server, someone we haven't seen before, was very nice and attentive. She served us very well. Total today was a bit over $50. For two larges and two teas, that didn't seem too bad. I posted my receipt because they do something I've not really seen before. They give the two prices. Using a card (3%) or the cash price. Again I've not seen another place do that. So again I applaud the years of consistency. I suggest you give them a shot. I really think you'll be happy. read more

My wife is from NY and I have to listen to her complain about the fact Virginia pizza is too doughy and that there isn't any good NY style pizza. Well, Baba's is the best we've tried around here. We've dined in and ordered take out, both on busy Friday nights. - Parking - Center lot. - TLC - It's a family run business and the service was friendly and courteous. - Noms - NY Style Combo Pizza (4 toppings) - pepp, sausage, green peppers, jalapenos Meat amore pizza - pepp, sausage, bacon ham The pizzas have a good amount of toppings and I really liked the crust. Eggplant Parmigiana - comes with garden salad (iceberg, romaine, shredded carrots, red onion, green pepper, raw mushrooms, shredded mozz cheese, olives) with choice of dressing (we chose balsamic) and garlic bread. The eggplant parm is two pieces of breaded eggplant topped with marinara and cheese. Spaghetti comes on the side. The sauce was tasty and tasted homemade. It was quite delicious and a generous serving. - Kids - I know I've mentioned this before in previous reviews, but I really dislike how restaurants give crappy options for kids, like kids menus are an afterthought. However, kids menus at Italian restaurants often reflect the same offerings for adults, because who doesn't love pastas, so it's a win here. My kids have had their pizzas, alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, all winners both according to my kids and us! Been here since 2017 and not sure how I overlooked it but today was the day! My daughter got the chicken Alfredo with a side salad and it comes with garlic bread. She gave it 4 stars and said it was pretty good. I had the Supreme Stromboli with a side of spicy sauce. The Stromboli was lights out good! Super crispy and definitely freshly made. Everything inside including the sauce was yummy. Let's turn our attention to the little cup of sauce on the side... it was so good I drank the last little bit. The tomatoes were nice and sweet. Sooo good! That itself would go good with anything, like a shoe...it could make that taste good! Overall the service was great, very sweet waitress. Winner! We found a great new pizza spot, I just wish it weren't so far south in Chesapeake. Nevertheless, we will most definitely be back! The place looks unassumingly small from the outside, but seats quite a lot at tables and booths. We came in with a party of 10 including 4 kids last night. With a larger party, we called ahead to make a reservation. As soon as we sat, I noted the signs posted at each table soliciting patience - longer waits due to low staff and a hiring notice. There was a pretty significant wait for our entrees (40 minutes), but the wait was worth it. Our server was prompt and very friendly throughout our visit. She was quick to respond to requests for extra utensils or plates. I didn't see more than 2 servers for the whole restaurant and they were quite busy for a Wednesday night with a regular take out business too. They have a couple of draft options and wine for those imbibing. We ordered apps and entrees soon after arriving. Appetizer order of mozzarella sticks arrived quickly and was gobbled up. For entrees, we ran the gamut - gluten free Hawaiian, strombolis, Zeppetelli pizza, shrimp Alfredo, calamari and cheese pizza. The pizza prices are pretty standard for a non-chain, artisan pizzeria (comparing to Bella Vista in Chesapeake). The prices on their website do not reflect the prices on their menu in the restaurant and are $2-3 more. I didn't inquire but this seems de rigueur for the industry right now so I wasn't really surprised. To the food - My Zeppetelli was delicious! I wish they had used fresh broccoli as I love the taste of roasted fresh broccoli. Husband really like the flavor of his Stromboli but noted that it was doughy in some spots. It didn't stop him from finishing the entire thing! Friends really liked the shrimp alfredo and gluten-free crust, which is a feat in itself. The food was great, but the service elevated this spot to four stars. We are very much looking forward to a return visit! read more

This used to be one of my fav spots. Got lasagna to go and it was burnt so bad to the aluminum container there wasn't much to eat the cheese and pasta were burnt into the container so it was just the top layer and meat even the sauce was fried/dried up with a layer of grease. We love this place, we really do but I have noticed the quality of take out has reduced drastically. When I look at the pics of folks dining in compared to what we are getting take out it makes me sad. Very sad. It wasn't always this way. I know ingredients and the cost of everything has increased exponentially due to covid and the cost of business but when you pay $60 bucks for take out and it looks nothing like what in diners are enjoying, it makes me just want to eat a frozen pizza at home. My husband said his pizza was pretty good, which I'm glad for. I ordered a 12" pepperoni stromboli to split with my son. It was surprisingly thin/flat, burnt on the bottom, and dripping with grease. Last night we ordered a Stromboli (w/ sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, and olives) and a salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Opening the stromboli last night was amazing. Perfectly cooked and deep brown crust. It was probably the best stromboli I have had and I travel alot around the country. Service was quick and easy over the phone, however I wish they had their own website and not FB. Don't like using FB to see about a restaurant, just my thing. We found this place via Yelp on a road trip. Man, are we glad we stopped! The restaurant is located in a nice, well lit shopping center with plenty of parking. We visited on a Wednesday night. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff and seated at a booth. The restaurant isn't very big and it was pretty full, so be prepared to wait or order takeout/delivery. We ordered an 18" NY style pizza. It did take a little long to get to our table, but it was very much worth the wait. If we did it again, we would have ordered the 12" with an app or salad, to fill in the wait time. The crust was the perfect blend of crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The sauce was spiced just right and the cheese was deliciously stringy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our drinks never ran empty and everyone was smiling and seemed positive. We also loved seeing what looked the the owner's family photos on the wall. It's always good to remember that business owners are people with families and feelings. And we love being reminded of how shopping local can make an impact! Fresh, local, and/or homemade ingredients, like homemade mozzarella, fresh grated Parmesan, etc. are the touches that would earn my fifth star. I didnt see any of that adverised and the parm was the typical tabletop shaker. But they are very close! I'd also have loved to see more ambient lighting. The pendant lights weren't lit up and the overhead florescents were on instead. But we loved the custom painted tabletops. We could tell the family put some love in the decor. We carried out two 18" pizzas and actually had to look in the boxes, not to make sure they were right, but to make sure there was actually pizza in them.
