So we had just gone to Olive Garden the week prior and driving by Carrabba's, we decided to check it out. It is a different vibe and experience than the OG but we will definitely be back. It has more of a Italian restaurant experience than Olive Garden but I think OG's overall formula as a restaurant is better. When we came in the greeter had a seated, and then the waitress came by pretty quickly to get a drink orders and put in food. When you sit down and once you order, they will bring out some sourdough bread and the table has olive oil with spices. I was a fan of the bread and I thought it was pretty good. Again, this is a different vibe than the OG breadsticks - probably a little healthier. We got the Lunch trio with the four cheese and sausage stuffed mushrooms within an Italian salad. I always get the dressing on the side because a lot of places go pretty heavy with the dressing and this place is like that as well. I recommend ordering dressing on the side. We also got the Shrimp and Scallop alla Vodka with rigatoni pasta instead of linguine with a Caesar salad salad. All the food was pretty good but it was a little bit unusual because they did not offer to put cheese on all of our salads and dishes (again, comparing it to Olive Garden). I actually preferred that because I think the added cheese makes the food, a little saltier and less healthy, but that's just my preference. While we were there, there was some kind of incident where the fire department had to come into the building and everyone got evacuated, so the restaurant comped us all the food (read: gave us our meal for free), which was very generous and really good customer service. Even without our food, being comped, we will definitely be back to try more of the menu. I really enjoyed this other chain's take on Italian casual dining.

Sat right away on a Friday evening. My daughter was craving Italian so we decided to come back. Really enjoy the olive oil and bread. This time as an appetizer we got the caprese salad with cherry tomatoes and was so perfect! Place was pretty clean and service was just fine.

We recently had dinner at Carrabba's located on Battlefield Boulevard, near the corner of Volvo, in the heart of Chesapeake. We like sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartenders. They were very friendly and helpful. The food was good and we had a great experience here.

The kitchen, Mr. Mark tonight the calamari and the salads came at the same time and 10 minutes later came my entrée. I feel like I'm being rushed out of here. I'm boxing everything to go and I will finish my wine and leave. Not sure when or if I'll be back.

This was VERY UNDERWHELMING. Probably my most underwhelming eating so far this hear. It IS Carrabba's so the expectations wasn't high. But the execution of this dish was wrong. You can tell that the dish itself and the recipe of the dish isn't bad. However it was the person cooking it. First off it the vodka wasn't cooked and reduced. If you KNOW, you can taste that they didn't reduce it, and toss the pasta in with it. Whoever cooked this definitely didn't do this. The linguine had NO flavor once so ever. This was definitely terrible. However it was edible and the service wasn't the worst. So I'll give it 2 stars instead of 1.

Linguine primavera with shrimp part of the flavors of spring menu

Came in Wednesday around 2pm. Jamila our server was excellent. Everyone worked together in the restaurant to make it a pleasant experience. Whoever is managing this establishment keep up the good work. I definitely see an improvement in the food and service. Everything we had was good. Our table of 4 had the pasta weesie, chicken Marsala, chicken Carrabbas and chicken Bryan. I will definitely return again when I'm in town

My Aunt and I did the sangria dinner 10/10 would recommend! The food was absolutely delicious paired perfectly with the sangria! The service was outstanding and very accommodating! I don't eat pork, and the host made sure my dishes did not come with bacon. I honestly can't wait for the upcoming events.

This carrabas is less than a mile from my house it is quickly becoming a staple for me... food is Always good and quick, I've dined in alone, with a small group, and take out. The wait staff are always awesome, it's nice and always clean and the vibe is nice. The happy hour is top tier! Honestly it's the food for me... I tried 2 new items the other day the Bourbon Pork Chop ... yoooo it's 2 days worth of sassy goodness and the new meatball ravioli wow.. for me always a 10 out of 10. Ok wait twice they forgot something in my delivery order... it wasn't the Food...one time it was my Panni water and the other my soup...but they refunded me when I called. Over all I love this place!

NEW Veal Piccata. Served just like that with nothing else on the plate. (The bread is from the bread basket. )

I have loved Carrabba's for many years. But they keep changing the menu, and it's pretty disappointing. Everything is delicious for sure. I am certain the entrees like Picatta, Salmon, etc., used to either come with spaghetti, or it was available as a side. Now, the only side pasta option is Rigatoni. Who wants Rigatoni with a fish or other meat? And why is Spaghetti not a side option in an Italian restaurant?? Makes no sense, in my humble opinion. I got the Asparagus w/Veal Piccata entree, which came on a separate plate and 3 minutes after the veal. It was just disjointed. The $10 take home is a GREAT idea! With a dine-in entree, you can order a takeout entree of equal or lesser price to go for $10! Took advantage of that, yessiree.

I know it's a chain... I know.. BUT IT WAS GREAT! The food was great! Everything! Comfortable atmosphere. What made the experience even better was an exceptional waitstaff! Our waiter, Brandon, was worth the trip by himself. Personable, attentive. As someone who spent their life in Boston, I can tell you that a good waiter can make or break an experience. He made it! Yes... we're going back!

The restaurant is open concept so you can see everything that's going on! The foods are served with such beautiful presentation and they taste very good too. We had the burrata for the appetizer and capellini pomodoro with meatball add-ons. Both were very delicious. The pomodoro sauce was nice and tangy but not overly acidic. And the meatballs were full of flavor and just the right saltiness for me. But if you're the type to add more seasoning, the tables come with pepper and salt so you can season to taste! Today we gave it another shot and ordered delivery after a long travel day and we were so disappointed, paid $10 for a ceaser salad and it was very small with 5 croutons and looked like the lettuce was just poured out of a bag you'd buy at the grocery store. The pastas were okay but nothing impressive. Expensive for what we got. I don't love leaving bad reviews but now that this has happened a few times here I feel the review was warranted.

The mozzarella on its own was a little bland but the marinara had great flavor. When they brought out our entrees I was excited. My dish was barely lukewarm. I think the sausage would have been better had it been seared but it seemed to just be sliced and warmed in the dish. It was rubbery. I couldn't taste pesto which was disappointing. Underneath everything was just very watery. The shrimp had that texture that it gets when it's overcooked. Overall I didn't really like any aspect of the dish. My husband's tortellini was good and still very warm. The garlic green beans he ordered had amazing flavor. Both of my sons said their fettuccine was mushy. We had a 6 o'clock reservation and we were able to be seated immediately. Our server was Emma, and she was very nice. We ordered the fried calamari, the lobster bisque, and the crab bisque appetizers. The calamari was perfectly done, but both the bisques were salty. I did really enjoy that the lobster bisque had huge pieces of lobster. I also started out with an espresso martini. They did an excellent job making that. As an entrée, I had the crab stuffed shrimp with risotto and fresh vegetables. It was really shrimp with mini crab balls on top. There was a lot of crab and minimal filler which was good and a pleasant surprise. It was supposed to be topped with some type of cream sauce that was a little thin for my liking. The risotto was cooked perfectly and so were the vegetables. Oh, and we also really enjoyed the complementary bread. The restaurant itself was dimly lit and more on the quiet side. It was rainy outside, so we weren't able to sit out on the patio, which would've been a nice view. Overall, we really enjoyed our time. At the end of dinner my sister asked if they did anything for birthdays and the waitress told us that they did not unless we were ordering a dessert. That was a little disappointing since we were there for a celebration. We were entirely too full to order dessert. But it would've been nice to have been sung to or acknowledged by the staff!

We were seated immediately, and our server, Emma, was friendly and attentive throughout dinner. I started with the white peach sangria. The flavor was good and refreshing, but it was definitely more juice than wine. It would be a great summer drink if you're looking for something light, fruity, and not particularly boozy. I also ordered the crab bisque. The flavor was really good, and there were small pieces of crab throughout, but the consistency was a little thinner than I personally prefer. I like my bisque thick enough to remind me that it is, in fact, a bisque. That's really just personal preference though, and I wouldn't knock the soup for it. My sister ordered the lobster bisque, and THAT was impressive. It had huge, abundant chunks of lobster. Once I saw hers, my little pieces of crab suddenly felt slightly less exciting. The lobster bisque definitely won the battle of the bisques. We also shared the calamari, which was lightly fried and served with Thai chili sauce. It was really good. No notes. Probably one of my favorite things we ordered. For my entrée, I had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans. The pork chop was cooked very well and had a good texture, but flavor-wise, it was fairly basic. It came with a mango and fig sauce that was much more fig-forward than mango-forward. I was hoping the mango would shine a little more, so while I liked it, it wasn't something I'd necessarily rush back to order again. The mashed potatoes were surprisingly flavorless. Potatoes are usually one of the easier parts of a meal to make exciting, so these felt a little like someone remembered at the last minute that the pork chop needed a side. The green beans, however, were really good. They tasted fresh and were cooked beyond that super-crisp, al dente stage that a lot of restaurants serve them at. They were softer while still maintaining their texture, seasoned well, and I really enjoyed them. Overall, the food was good, but nothing we had made me think, "Oh my gosh, I need to come back specifically for this." It was a perfectly pleasant meal, just not a standout one. One thing I do think Amber Lantern could improve is the atmosphere. This restaurant has been around for a long time, and as someone from the area who has seen it over the years, the interior is definitely showing its age. The carpet, booths, and overall décor could really use an update. Walking inside feels a little like stepping back in time, and not necessarily in the charming, vintage way. With such a beautiful waterfront location, I think refreshing the interior could make a huge difference. I also noted on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, but no one acknowledged it during dinner. Eventually, I asked whether they did anything for birthdays and was told they could bring out a small dessert. My sister decided to pass because she had been hoping for more of a traditional birthday moment, like having the staff sing Happy Birthday. Definitely something to keep in mind if you're booking for a celebration and expecting the restaurant to acknowledge the occasion. On our way out, we asked the hostess if she would take a family photo for us. I didn't catch her name, but she happily did it and actually took a really good picture, so shoutout to her for ending the evening on a nice note! All in all, Amber Lantern gave us a pleasant family dinner for my sister's birthday. The food had some hits and some "that was fine" moments, the restaurant itself could definitely use some love, but the service was attentive and, most importantly, my sister enjoyed spending her birthday dinner with her family. At the end of the day, that was what mattered most.

I don't know what the big deal was, but I haven't forgotten the "No Pizza Day" of 2025. Anyway, I have gotten two of the large pepperoni pizzas before and they're really good. 16 slices are a lot and lasted me almost a week. They are really difficult to wrap and keep, but worth it if you like the taste. They have plenty of good drink options, including brands and flavors not all places have. Even found canned gatorade, which I didn't know even existed! They have a backroom with pinball machines that's pretty neat. One of them plays music, others make generic gaming noises, and another one of the machines farts a lot. It doesn't take too long for the pizzas to be made in my experience. Make sure you have plenty of space in your vehicle to transport it, and at home or wherever you're bringing it. Make some room in your fridge for leftovers! I think it's cool for the novelty value on occasion, but it is a bit pricey.
