Little local pizzeria was in the mood for some good fettuccine Alfredo when I looked at the reviews this place came highly recommended so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted. The young lady was very, very friendly and super knowledgeable. It appears a lot of locals go there quite a few people were sitting waiting for their order. It was a very busy night for them, which is always a good sign. I decided I want to give their fettuccine Alfredo a try. I added chicken and I also had to order a slice of cheese pizza. You always have to try a slice of pizza from a local pizzeria. Let's start with a slice of pizza very good thin crust just like I like it cooked to perfection now moving on to the fettuccine Alfredo. The noodles were slightly overcooked, but the Alfredo sauce was very very good. I think if I order it again, I would skip the chicken but all in all I would order it again and go back and visit them . I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo dinner which came with a salad and bread. The portion sizes are very good enough for where I can have lunch the next day, which is always a good thing for me so if you're ever in the neighborhood, I highly recommend you give them a try. I would definitely would suggest you calling in your order because I do get very busy specially on the weekends Thank me later.

I would love to give a higher rating. I think this establishment is very cute and the staff is friendly. However, the pizza is a bit undeveloped. Too soggy I would say. When holding up the pizza it should be firm, not flop down. I even put my slice on the air fryer a bit to cook it a bit more. The flavor is good, I ordered pepperoni with mushrooms and banana peppers.

The spaghetti and meatballs were good, and the bread was fresh. Prices were reasonable for what you get. The service was kind and attentive, making for a pleasant overall experience.

Friendly staff, cute interior. Fresh vegetables in a nice sized salad to share & pizza items were abundant. Pizza sauce & cheese on pizza were tasty. Will return.

As a pizza lover, this was an absolutely fantastic experience. The story behind the owners was what actually drew us in when looking for a pizza spot on VA Beach getaway. The staff were wonderful, the environment was perfect. But most importantly, the pizza AND garlic cheese bread were top notch! You can see my actual reaction in this video, you don't even have to skip ahead because it was our first stop! https://youtu.be/eAr91JV8-K0?si=eJoi45W9My1x3Nac

I've now visited Dolcinea on three occasions. I've done one takeout trip and two in restaurant dinings. I'll start by saying that I'm an Italian food snob. I am not only Italian but we cook a great deal of homemade Italian food weekly. The food at Dolcinea has not let me down yet. I've been satisfied with the flavor, quantity and quality every time. I'll start with the Alfredo. I make Alfredo 2-3 times per month from scratch down to shredding our own Parmesan cheese imported from Italy. Dolcinea's alfredo is creamy and cheesy just the way it's supposed to be. Garlic flavoring does not overpower their sauce. It's a very well balanced Alfredo sauce that they make in house and you can tell immediately that it's not coming out of any kind of prepackaging. While I prefer my at home Alfredo it costs me about 5x as much to make the sauce for 3 than their entire portion costs after tax. It's a really great dish and you can add protein to it for a very reasonable price. It's good enough I'd stop making it myself if my wife would let me. The portion size is also pretty big, I think you'd be hard pressed to not be satisfied by the amount and quality of food you're getting with this dish. My 3 year old daughter has had the kids spaghetti as well. The tomato sauce is rich and hearty. It has good balanced flavor with a rich profile. We added meat to it and the meatballs and ground beef in general here have great flavor and complement the sauce very well. I was blown away by the portion size for a kids meal item. She ate well which is rare for her and I ended up eating what was left for lunch the next day. If you like a good tomato sauce you'll likely enjoy this dish as well. Both my daughter and I really enjoy the pizza. It's thin and not over sauced. My personal favorite is half cheese and half meatball. This is also the only restaurant my daughter has ever even tried a piece of pizza that wasn't strictly cheese. On our last visit she stole my pizza and ate most of it and I ended up eating the kids Alfredo we had ordered for her. If you like a thin pizza it's a must try. My mother is the most difficult to please. She's enjoyed all three of our visits and most recently she sampled the steak Philly. She really enjoyed the sandwich and once again it was a big portion. She was only able to eat half of it and really enjoyed having the other half for a lunch the next day. I'll add the fries were very good and had a good amount of crisp. I did not try the sandwich myself but my mother really enjoyed it. Overall here you're going to get great flavor and quality combined with a good portion size. We feel this place is a great value for the money compared with a lot of other options in the area. The pasta dishes are far superior to what Primo now offers. The Alfredo for sure really is multiple levels better than at Primo which is nearby. It is not only better in flavor but in quality and price. You can't go wrong giving this small family owned restaurant a shot.

If you haven't tried Dolcinea yet, stop what you're doing right now and go! Now! Such an adorable husband and wife couple really take the service and ambiance to the next level. We felt so welcomed and appreciated, and inspired by their story. And the pizza, OMG! Having lived four years in Naples, Italy, I set the bar pretty high, and Dolcinea delivers with distinction! Everything was amazing, the crust, the sauce, the toppings, the love imparted into every slice (an Italian requirement), I can't say enough about how much we loved everything. We also tried the meatballs, but devoured them so fast in pleasure and excitement, I forgot to snap a picture. As I suggested, whatever you're doing now is not important, go and try Dolcinea!

They are the BEST pizzeria in town! Takes time to order food sometimes when they are so busy, but it's worth the wait.

We were going to move but they had a big fan blowing and they turned it away from her. Now take that with a grain of salt because the heat in her room is set to 76 and it's April. 2. It was too loud. Since the kitchen is open you can hear the cooks doing cook things. She was irritated by the noises coming from the kitchen but once again....grain of salt. The volume on her TV is at 80 and she can't hear it but can hear the kitchen noises. 3. The seat was too hard. Once again....grain of salt. We sat in the bar area, which I'd definitely recommend if you're going for a more laid back vibe and want to take advantage of happy hour. First of all, happy hour is legit! They have half off select appetizers and drinks in the bar, which is always a win. We ordered the pizza of the day (supreme) and it did not disappoint. Crispy crust, generous toppings, and that classic Italian comfort flavor you're hoping for. We also grabbed the bolognese, which was half off for happy hour, and it was rich, hearty, and perfect for sharing (or not). And yes... martinis were half off, so obviously I had to get an espresso martini. Smooth, not too sweet, and exactly what I needed to balance out all the carbs. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and gave great suggestions without being pushy, which always makes a difference. On top of that, there was a man playing the piano, violin, and singing ... fully setting the mood. He absolutely got me when he started playing the Titanic song. Instant nostalgia. The whole place has an old-school Italian feel. Warm, welcoming, and the kind of spot you could linger in for hours. I also love that they do specials throughout the week, so it feels like a place you can keep coming back to and try something new. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. Il Giardino is officially on my repeat list.

We were greeted immediately, seated right away, and our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Before ordering, I actually spoke with the owner, Gaston, because I wanted his recommendation for the best steak on the menu. He confidently recommended the Cowboy Ribeye, assuring me that it was one of their signature steaks. I ordered it medium rare with a little char, exactly the way I enjoy it. I also asked if I could substitute the mashed potatoes and broccoli for another side since I don't eat either of those. I was told substitutions were not allowed. For a $60 steak, I found that disappointing. I wasn't asking for anything extravagant--just a different vegetable or a simple side salad. When my steak arrived, it was much smaller than I expected for the price and didn't resemble the Cowboy Ribeye I was anticipating. It was cooked slightly over medium rare, and while it wasn't terrible, the flavor was only average and had a slightly off taste, almost as if the broiler hadn't been cleaned recently. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and broccoli I had specifically asked to leave off the plate were served anyway. To be fair, the service was excellent. Our waitress handled everything professionally and even apologized for the sides, explaining the kitchen had plated them before she could stop it. The chicken scallopini ordered by someone else in our party was very good, and the other chicken entrées were also enjoyed. Unfortunately, I came for the steak, and that's where the experience fell well short of expectations. At this price point, I expected a high-quality cut of beef, some flexibility with side dishes, and an overall experience that matched the cost. Instead, it felt like every effort was made to minimize portions and avoid accommodating a simple request. I always try to support local restaurants, and I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews. But when you're paying premium prices, the food should reflect it. Based on my experience, I can't recommend the steaks here.
