We stopped in after an event at the elementary school next door. We were seated promptly by friendly staff. The restaurant was clean and staff attentive. The menu was classic, offering plenty of options for adults and kids. We took the server's recommendation for appetizer and ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls - they were amazing, especially with the hot honey as she recommended. This is a long time favorite dining spot for me. I use to have little league end of the year parties here when I was younger. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Fantastic, small pizza shop that coincidentally is located nearby which we are so happy about. There is a decent amount of parking so pick-up was quick and easy. All of the employees working were very friendly and welcoming, making the experience a step above normal takeout. It was actually enjoyable. Prices are fair, the menu is pretty extensive, and food was great. We got a large Supreme pizza and a Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap. The pizza was the best we have had in the Virginia Beach area and the Caesar Wrap was just as good; served exactly the way I like it with crisp, saucy salad and warm chicken. And always filled with fresh veggies (tomatoes, red onions, green peppers, & cucumbers), the lettuce is always crisp, & topped with plenty of delicious feta and olives! They do not skimp on the toppings, so don't be deterred by the price, the salad can easily be shared by four people as a side with pizza! The Pembroke Special Pizza with no green peppers. This is the best pizza the homemade crust is perfect. One thing they do different is chop everything small which I love, it makes the flavors better, and honestly I hate when places just put big chunks of stuff on them. Today we just had Pembroke Special which is basically a supreme pizza. What I really liked was the primary topping was not cheese. The toppings were fresh and distributed evenly over the pizza. The wine list wasn't really a list They had a Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Rose, and a red wine. The beer list decent not extensive but there was a variety from an IPA to American lager. Every time I visit in Virginia Beach, I have to stop at Pembroke Pizza to get an order of their lasagna. It's my favorite thing on their menu, but they have amazing subs, pizza, and deep fried cheese ravioli as well. I also love how I'm greeted by the entire staff each time I walk in the door which makes me feel like they are always ready to help even when they are busy. The family feel of the restaurant along with the TV's playing various sports makes me feel comfortable and satisfied at the same time. They have two TV's up on the wall, digital juke box (2 songs for $1.00 ), Arcade machine with some great classics (.50 a play ). Pizza was great both times! Husband had a calazone and said it's one of the best he has ever had. Garden salad was fresh, and cold. Both waitresses - both times... Always made sure we had a fresh refill of our beverages. Gross. We've now tried 3 separate times, thinking it would be better and if anything it's gotten worse. I honestly wish we had bought frozen pizza instead. It taste like generic frozen pizza, under cooked and underwhelming with toppings. We will never go back. The pizza is mushy. I don't know why they have the foil under the pizza but it does it no favors. Don't waste your money here until they get it together. Some people only get to order out once a week, and if you're spending $40+ and you get something that tastes like garbage, it's beyond depressing. read more
