We went with the summer specials on this visit, panzanella salad and summer pie. The salad was heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, focaccia, lemon vinaigrette, and basil. It was good but we thought there was too much bread. The pizza was topped with garlic oil, lo mo, provolone, salami, capicolo, purple onions, oregano, banana peppers, pesto, and red wine vinegar. It was good and we bought two slices home with us. The best pie, however, in our opinion is the 5 star spicy pepperoni which we normally order. None can compare. Service is consistently good and we always thoroughly enjoy sitting at the end of the counter and watching the carryout customers come and go while we savor our pizza and Mexican beer. read more

Thank you yelp for helping me find the best pizza in Norfolk Va. This pizza was very satisfying and tasty. We were surprised it was so large. One slice is huge. You get six slices each. The spicy pepperoni included, ricotta cheese, fresh basil and pepperoni with chili peppers, tomato sauce and lomo. They do offer outdoor dining. Nice area with tables available. They also offer indoor limited seating available. We ordered this to go. It was ready in 30 minutes. Piping hot and good to go. I highly recommend. Seems to be a popular spot in this area. Whenever craving pizza again would definitely check them out. read more

Hands down the best pizza in the area. I went to school on long island and this is the closest you can get to thin crust pizza reminiscent of the area. Great flavorful and seasonal selections, a curated wine and beer menu, and the best garlic knots in the area. By far the BEST PIZZA IN VA! Proper NY Style. Thin, crispy, char crust, fresh tomato sauce, perfect balance of cheese, and amazing flavor! The owner, Chris is an awesome person. The restaurant is super nice, very clean, and a great place to eat. The garlic knots are HUGE and delicious! Buttery, garlicky, moist, and very filling. I have driven past Lo Mo so many times and finally had the chance to stop in. AMAZING!!! We started with the summer salad and garlic knots. The salad was super fresh and had a great tangy vinaigrette. The garlic knots were SOO good and had confit garlic and lots of pecorino... it was everything we wanted. From there, we knew the pizza was going to be special. The PIZZA!!! We got the pepperoni (pepp)and it was a perfect pie. The crust had amazing color, chew, and was so thin it almost melted in my mouth. The crumb was perfect, there was stellar blistering, and the slice was structurally sound: NO FLOPS! We love to get takeout pizza from Lomo! They are always fast and efficient. Their staff is kind and friendly. The restaurant is rather small with a few tables to eat in. There is about 10-12 parking spaces out front. We normally just get either the cheese or pepperoni and we ALWAYS get the garlic knots. I know people complain that there aren't any real pizza spots in the Hampton Roads. Well, Lo Mo is the real deal. I have a tradition of celebrating events with pizza. I'm so glad I chose Lo Mo this past celebration. Look at this pie and tell me it isn't beautiful. Let me tell you, the spice was there but the pockets of ricotta made the perfect balance. The pizza was cooked right (it wasn't a soggy, floppy mess like so many places), the sauce had good flavor, and the basil was fresh. They have a decent sized dining area. It was a take out order, so I can't speak too much about the service. But from the little interaction I had, they were very friendly and my pie was ready pretty quickly. I won't yet hail it as the best pizza in the area, but I honestly can't think of any contenders. Keep it up Lo Mo! read more

This is the place to go!! Chris makes every pie with care and love. They are absolutely delicious. I cannot say enough about the flavor... you will want to eat the crust! That's how good it is. The inside is a total vibe. One wall is covered with pothos and you can watch Chris cook if you go to the side - a favorite for the kiddos! Pro tip: Order early and order ahead... they usually sell out. Ordering ahead allows you to have minimal or no wait for your pizza. 11/10 Cannot recommend this place enough! Our 4 year old asks to go there by name! Oh and don't miss out on their seasonal pies. Those are created with a lot of thought and passion. I haven't tried one I didn't love! read more

visiting from out of town and decided to check this place out. The service was amazing and the ambiance was so nice. We got our food and ate outside. Got the spicy pepperoni with hot honey and ranch on the side and it was absolutely delicious!!! the crust is PERFECT and so nicely crispy. This pizza hit the spot!! will definitely be back. Oh how I love my Lo Mo Fridays. Yes, almost every Friday my boyfriend and I now get a large pepperoni pie with a side of their homemade ranch. This place is amazing, and nice take on a NY pizza. Now you all know as a NYer I always gotta have my take on pizza lol. The pizza here is amazing. It gives an air of the old school pizza parlors back home in queens. Thin, perfect amount of sauce, and a crispy crust that you wanna dip! Love dipping my crust in their ranch, and I'm not normally a ranch girlie when it comes to pizza. This place does what they do exceptionally well, and I couldn't ask for more from a local place! The service is always quick and friendly. Even when I go inside to pick up the inside of very cute and intimate. Perfect place for a nice bottle of wine and a pie. This is for sure a gem in Hampton roads in terms of pizza. The crust was prefect! Thin and crispy with the airy fluffy outer crust. I liked the more dynamic flavors of the winter pie (kinda spicy but with sweet onion). The fungi pie could have used something to make it pop, like fresh herbs or a glaze. The pizza maker seemed very friendly but the lady at the counter didn't seem to really care, almost bored with my questions. The inside was very cute and chill. read more

Being from the Northeast, I consider myself a bit of a pizza snob. I've had some of the best in NY, NJ, New Haven, and even Naples, Italy. Ive tried pizza all over Hampton Roads - Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and everywhere in between and honestly, they all let me down. Brooklyn-style, NY-style, I'm not sure who they are fooling style?! Then I found Lo Mo one evening, and for the first time in Virginia, I felt redeemed. The pizza was fresh, flavorful, perfectly thin, with just the right amount of char. Exactly what (IMHO) real pizza should be. I also ended up talking with the owner for a bit, and his story makes the place even better. Don't waste your time anywhere else, seriously this is the spot. Norfolk has so many great food options and is really becoming a legit foodie destination. It's about time the area has finally got pizza that represents. Lo Mo is it. read more

I've been following LOMO Pizzeria on Instagram for months now, patiently waiting for them to open up, and I'm glad I was finally able to try it! FOOD: We ordered the spicy pep and their garden salad. Their ingredients are legit from a local garden, and you can taste them! Props to the owners for being so intentional about their ingredients. The crust is too crunchy for my taste, and the big pieces of cheese are a sweet touch but not my favorite. SERVICE: I called in advance to place an order, and the young woman on the phone was so nice and accommodating. She said my order would be ready in 30 minutes, but I was an hour away, so she said she'd adjust the time they'd start making the order so my food wouldn't be cold. When we picked it up, the place was packed! There was a vibe in there of camaraderie and positivity. I loved it. LOCATION: Can I say how much character this place has? I mean, the subway tile, the tomato jars as decoration, and the picnic tables as outdoor seating. So much thought went into the details of this location, and I really appreciate that. There are 6-7 parking spaces in this lot. Will I come back? YES! I plan on it since we can just ride our bikes here. I hope this business thrives!!! You guys deserve the best. Let me just say, pizza is a food group for me! I can eat it any time of the day. Tonight we visited LoMo and I (we) had a great experience. The shop is a smaller place so don't think it's going to be easy to roll up w/ a party of 10, but I am certain they'd do their very best to accommodate you! It's dimly lit so there is no commercial feel, tasteful music was playing and the vibe was good. We ordered the spicy pepperoni with roasted garlic (comes on the side in oil, very yummy addition to mine) and the hot honey to drizzle. We also each had drinks and we got a bottle of sweet red wine. The pizza was delicious. Sourdough crust, which wasn't too dense. The edge crust was kind of airy, which, I liked (and no complaints from my son or his girlfriend). It had fluted dollops of ricotta and basil leaves, giving it a fresh touch. I'm assuming it was the owner who came to our table and asked how we liked it. We gave him props because it was good! He was very friendly. We will be back, you should def give them a try! read more

Was in the area, and thought to try someplace new. Saw how good the ratings and pictures were and thought it'd be a good place to try. I have to say, I am glad I picked up a box! It was crispy and thin, and the sauce was flavorful. Cheese was nice, if you're looking for cheesy though, this isn't the pizza for you. It's just the right amount. It also wasn't greasy, which is always nice. The crust is chewy and crisp, not my favorite, but still really enjoyable. Overall, definitely will go here again if I'm close enough, and if you haven't been here and can, please do. You won't regret it! read more

Lo Mo is making some of the best pies in the 757, hands down. I'm a native New Yorker and a total pizza snob, but Lo Mo has made me happy every time I've gotten a pizza from them. The crust is perfect, thin, light, crispy, burnt in just the right amount, while still foldable. The pepperoni they use is really excellent too. The spicy pepperoni is really interesting, I love Calabrian chilies as they always give a nice kick, and the ricotta is a really nice balance to that. The service is always friendly too. I do wish they had some customizable options on their pies, you can't just pick your own toppings like Italian sausage, onions, mushrooms, etc. That being said the Margharita and the two pepperoni options are right up my alley. This is a great little pizza spot in Riverview! read more

I questioned a "Potato" pizza but it works, flavor and texture; though not something I would pair, "Fall" was also good but I like squash and prosciutto. Gotta say Cheese and Margarita varieties were top notch. Love that they're in Riverview. Can't say enough good things about this place. Best pizza I've had in Virginia. Inside is cute and homey. I probably eat here 3 or 4 times a month since I'm in va Beach. Highly recommend the cheese pizza, its like a mix of an authentic italian pizza and a ny pizza. All of their pies especially their seasonal ones are great. The staff and zoe at the counter are extremely nice. They can get busy and or sold out, but that's a sign to tell you they're good. Definitely worth the wait! read more

Dropped in last night and was very happy. I'm a pizza snob and this place had some of the best pizza HR has to offer. Perfect crust, undercarriage and cheese. I also usually hate pizza toppings and only do plain cheese but we did the spicy pepperoni and that was also amazing. Definitely coming back and would recommend as one of the best in Hampton Roads. Food quality and execution are top notch! There are two things that make them different: 1. The quality of the crust - the right amount of chew, that is thin but still holds the ingredients, plus the toasty edges and bubbles add extra deliciousness! 2. The pizza sauce is delicious, simple, and is not overly sweeter like SO MANY OTHERS. Their wine selection provides a perfect blend of options for premium wines that are value priced. THANK YOU! This is the best pizza I have had in the area, and their food can compete against any I've ever enjoyed. I have lived in NYC, SF, Seattle, and Europe and I believe LoMo would be successful in any of those places. read more

It was date night Thursday, and High Street Pizza had awesome reviews. I did the "vegan thing" and checked the menu first. I found a lot of vegetable toppings, so I knew I could craft a pizza to my liking. We drove from Va Beach to Portsmouth for dinner. I learned that I cannot craft a pizza with no meat and cheese because High Street Pizza will not make a pizza without cheese. I had no idea you can't just take cheese off of pizza. I do it all the time at other pizza places, but the pizza here must be constructed with cheese. I was told I could get vegan cheese, but I didn't want that. Option 2-order a salad. I opted for the Greek Salad, hold the feta. And since the menu said it came with a red wine vinaigrette dressing, I could eat that instead. After placing our orders, the waitress returned and informed me the red wine vinaigrette was made with mayonnaise at High Street Pizza. The very name of the dressing is a list of the ingredients: Red wine Vinegar How does MAYONNAISE get in there? I even Googled it to make sure I wasn't getting it confused: extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, mustard, oregano, and salt Of course, the dressing can be altered to be "creamy". And yes, there is a CREAMY red wine vinaigrette. But that's not what the menu said. High Street Pizza listed the dressing as just "red wine vinaigrette." I didn't eat anything that evening, but my husband loved every morsel of his sausage and mushroom pie, however. He even said it was one of the best pizzas he ever had! In their defense, High Street Pizza doesn't tout themselves as a vegan friendly restaurant. I am not disappointed about the pizza because my choice not to eat vegan cheese is my preference. They tried to offer an alternative, I chose not to opt for the cheese alternative. Consider listing your salad dressing as "creamy red wine vinaigrette" though. It makes a huge difference leaving the word out.

I had never had a hot honey pizza but would definitely get it again! Tonight was trivia night and they had a good size crowd come out. I like that you could actually hear the questions despite so many people. A lot of times I can barely hear! Also inside the same place is Voyager Coffee. They're only open 7-4. I would love to give them a try. Oh and Elation does offer military discount but only on their to-go beers! The ONLY reason I did not give Elation five star is because I wish they had actual servers. You have to go up to the counter to order each time, and the lines get pretty long. Being able to order from the table, even if from a QR code where you could order and pay online would be a plus. Lastly, for such a large space, the parking lot is tiny. You'd either have to find street parking or there is additional parking at the CEO building on Colley.
