[[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was really good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I come to this little shopping center often because there are a lot of great places in here and it's primarily for the local crowd in Virginia Beach. I showed up with a friend for lunch and we both got the 2 slice lunch special. They had some various other lunch specials as well, but I was pretty set on those pizzas. You can put one topping on each of the pizzas if you want or you can just get cheese. The pizza is thin crust and was definitely pretty good. It reminded me of a very similar style to NYC pizza and I prefer that style myself. We also got the garlic knots and they were delicious. It's like they put a whole loaf in the oven and just infused it with garlic flavor! The portions for that were large! Maybe include a little more marinara sauce for the next time.

So delicious will be back here had vegan options and sweet so excited. And so friendly and accommodating!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small nice comfortable place with booth and tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Nasty, greasy, a piece of slice cheese on top.Took it back, poor customer service. Don't risk it! Save your money. This was $16, not worth

The food was nasty. A slice of cheese was placed on top. I wasn't satisfied called the business & was told to bring the order back to get it remade or a refund. Got to the business they would not do either. I would not take a chance ordering food from Bodacious. A complete mess.

When I found out this restaurant came from the food truck I HAD TO TRY IT! And...it did not disappoint!! The ownership has changed since the food truck but the pizza is still just as delicious!! The service was quick and thorough!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the child friendly atmosphere and will definitely be taking my family back with me![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The garlic knots were JUICY yall! There's no other way to describe them. Juicy, fluffy and fresh!! You must try it if you can. The pizza was absolutely delicious and an overall 10 out of 10 as Keith Lee would say. This restaurant is a must try if you're in Va beach.

Bodacious Bakehouse is located in the Aragona Village Shoppes in the Aragona area of Virginia Beach. This is located along Virginia Beach Blvd. about a mile or so west of the intersection of Virginia Beach Blvd. and Independence Blvd. My visit to this location was on May 12, 2022. Although this is the first time I have been to this place, I have actually had quite a bit of food from them in the past when they were at my work as a regular food truck visitor pre-pandemic before starting to work from home. My experiences with them as a food truck were phenomenal. They were very popular at my work too. Many of us would always ask if they would be getting a permanent location as well. As we were going into the pandemic, that happened. I did learn that ownership had changed hands, but it was definitely the same Bodacious Pizza that I was accustomed to from the food truck. Fast forward to entering the physical location. It wasn't too busy at the time, but there was a good amount of takeout orders going on. It took us a few moments to look at what we wanted. We were here on a Thursday, so they had a buy one calzone, get one half off special. In the end, my mom and I both went with Pepperoni Calzones to take advantage of the special. After ordering was completed, we went to an open table to wait for the food to come out, as they would bring it to us once it was ready. Several minutes later, the calzones were hot and ready, and they were brought to the table. Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes were already available on all the tables. It was time to dig in. It took a few moments to start as it came out piping hot, which is a great way to get it, especially when it wasn't burnt either. It looked awesome. I was hungry coming in, so I thought I would actually finish the whole thing in this visit. I was wrong. It was very filling and delicious. It definitely reminded me of the pizzas from the food truck days. I was able to devour half of it, and the other half would be eaten a few days later. Overall, this was an excellent experience. The food and service were excellent. I know the decor in there is simple, but it's the food and service that matters more to me. If you are in this area of the city and looking to get some good food, this place is definitely worth coming to. They have more than just pizza items, so be sure to check out the full menu. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

*New ownership* My husband and I came here on a quick lunch date after my doctor's appointment. We got there just as they were opening their doors. It's a cute little mom and pop shop and reminds me of the ones I grew up with back home. Nothing fancy, just friendly service and some good food. It's a fast casual set up, with the open kitchen, back kitchen and service counter occupying most of the space. There is a seating area to the left if you feel like dining in. I thought I had seen some buzz about baked goods in addition to their great pizzas, so I was super excited to see what they had, so I inquired about them when I didn't see any on display. The woman who helped us informed me that the the business had just been sold and they were in the process of making some changes. So FYI, they are taking away the bakehouse and will only be making cookies, Tiramisu and Banana Pudding. Damn, I was a little disappointed since I am a sucker for baked goods, but this being my first time at the shop, I also can't miss something I've never had. No worries though, we did find other things to enjoy. - Noms - Supreme 18 inch - We're not a fan of black olives so we got it without. This is seriously my kind of pizza. It came out piping hot, and it has that doughy crust, fresh toppings (pepp, sausage, red peppers chunks and FRESH mushrooms) and super cheesy! (Side note: truly appreciated that it was REAL, FRESH mushrooms. I don't know about you, but I've noticed that a lot of pizza joints insist on putting canned mushrooms, like ewww. Mushrooms get a bad rep, but that's not helping the cause, but anyway, that's a discussion better saved for a Talk thread). Ok, back to the pizza, I thought their pizza was great and look forward to trying other kinds of pies on a return visit. They have the classics and other interesting combos like Chicken Bacon Ranch or Philly Cheesesteak pizzas. I bet their Calzones are good too, judging from their pizzas and I'd love to try some pasta dishes. Chocolate Chip Cookies - I got these to go for the kiddos, but of course this momma charged some Mommy tax! Whaaaat? How can I review them if I don't taste them? *shrugs shoulders* They are a good size and I can see why they are going to continue making these cookies. Both chips and chunks of chocolate, on the thick side and not too soft and not too hard. Solid cookie! PB Cookie - I got this for the hubby. He says he's not a sweet tooth, but if you throw PB in anything, he comes around snooping. Yeah, he doesn't fool me. It had PB chips AND Reese's Pieces Cups in them! Same as Chocolate Chip cookie, on the thick side and not too soft and not too hard! Another solid cookie! - Notes - *Great pizzas, good cookies, awesome service. *Order and pay at the counter, they bring you the food. *At the time our visit (Feb 2022), they offered a military discount with presentation of valid ID. Thanks Bodacious Bakehouse, never expected, always appreciated! Stay safe, Friends!

    Vegan Meatball Sub! Delish!
    Shay J.

This place is an amalgamation of all things that make me happy--the smell of good cooking grabs you at the door mixed with delicious options and the best part...they have a VEGAN MENU! Can a meatball sub be tasty, fresh, and vegan? It can if you eat at Bodacious Bakehouse! It's my go to, "I-have-errands-to-run-but-I-am-hungry-so-let-me-grab-a-good-sandwich-before-I-get-started" steady. That vegan sub hits it out the park EVERY. SINGLE.TIME!! They respect the vegan community so you don't even have to double check if your vegan meal is cross contaminated with meat in the process. Thank you Bodacious, you are all right in my book!

    So good!

Since the kitchen is open you can hear the cooks doing cook things. She was irritated by the noises coming from the kitchen but once again....grain of salt. The volume on her TV is at 80 and she can't hear it but can hear the kitchen noises. 3. The seat was too hard. Once again....grain of salt. Sorella's is just steps from the oceanfront and although (online) they were booked solid on a Monday night, we called in and were able to get a table for three at 5:30. Our kind Server gave us all the information we needed and we didn't plan on Happy Hour but why not as they offered delicious apps and drinks. We ordered the Fritto Misto (perfectly fried calamari/shrimp), Baked Meatballs (delicious) and a Caesar Salad that came with anchovies (we usually have to ask). For wine (all part of Happy Hour), it was Pinot Grigio Sassi), Rose (Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo) and Pinot Noir (Franco Serra)-all tasty and paired well with our dinner. We all wanted pasta especially since they made their own and they had a few options. We ordered the Malfadine (first time having this pasta -resembles torn up lasagna pieces given the ridges, sausage, pesto all played nicely together), Lumache (short rib and vodka sauce-delicious!-who knew?) and Radiatore (Carbonara with Pork Belly-usually Guanciale, pancetta etc. but the Belly worked!). We liked that the Pasta portions were just right (still had leftovers despite) and priced accordingly. Evan took great care of us. He was attentive and so engaged! What a find! Both of us really enjoyed what we had and all pasta is made in house daily. The portions were generous but not overwhelming which was nice. Our server was very kind. At one point mg husband accidentally knocked off his glass and it broke. The bar back came over and said "before anything else, is everyone ok?" And then promptly cleaned it up. The ceiling tile above our table was literally falling out and looked like it was one bump away from landing on someone. On top of that, it was uncomfortably hot inside. Considering how hot it was outside, it seemed like the air conditioning either wasn't working or wasn't turned on. The biggest disappointment was the service and how the restaurant handled multiple mistakes. We had a party of eight, and our checks were completely messed up--including one check that somehow had a 42% gratuity added. That's the kind of error that should have been easy to correct. Things only got worse from there. One person's leftovers were taken to be boxed up and never came back. When we asked about them, they returned with a steaming hot container of broth and tomatoes... except the original meal was seafood with shrimp, mussels, and fish. It was obvious the food had been lost and hastily replaced. Another friend had his leftover pizza dropped in the kitchen. To make up for it, they offered him a complimentary dessert... then actually charged him for it. The final straw was the interaction with the "manager." When one of our friends politely questioned her bill, he immediately became aggressive and said, "How can I fix this problem? I'm not a mind reader." Instead of listening, he became defensive from the start. He first offered about $80 worth of desserts, then agreed to remove part of the bill instead. A short time later, he returned and claimed he couldn't do anything because "the manager wasn't in yet"--despite presenting himself as the manager moments earlier. The entire interaction was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. The only bright spot of the evening was our waitress. She was kind, attentive, and clearly doing her best despite everything going wrong around her. Mistakes happen, but she handled herself with professionalism and kindness all night. Unfortunately, between the mediocre food, the multiple service failures, and the way management treated our group, this was not an experience I'd want to repeat.

We were greeted immediately, seated right away, and our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Before ordering, I actually spoke with the owner, Gaston, because I wanted his recommendation for the best steak on the menu. He confidently recommended the Cowboy Ribeye, assuring me that it was one of their signature steaks. I ordered it medium rare with a little char, exactly the way I enjoy it. I also asked if I could substitute the mashed potatoes and broccoli for another side since I don't eat either of those. I was told substitutions were not allowed. For a $60 steak, I found that disappointing. I wasn't asking for anything extravagant--just a different vegetable or a simple side salad. When my steak arrived, it was much smaller than I expected for the price and didn't resemble the Cowboy Ribeye I was anticipating. It was cooked slightly over medium rare, and while it wasn't terrible, the flavor was only average and had a slightly off taste, almost as if the broiler hadn't been cleaned recently. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and broccoli I had specifically asked to leave off the plate were served anyway. To be fair, the service was excellent. Our waitress handled everything professionally and even apologized for the sides, explaining the kitchen had plated them before she could stop it. The chicken scallopini ordered by someone else in our party was very good, and the other chicken entrées were also enjoyed. Unfortunately, I came for the steak, and that's where the experience fell well short of expectations. At this price point, I expected a high-quality cut of beef, some flexibility with side dishes, and an overall experience that matched the cost. Instead, it felt like every effort was made to minimize portions and avoid accommodating a simple request. I always try to support local restaurants, and I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews. But when you're paying premium prices, the food should reflect it. Based on my experience, I can't recommend the steaks here.

She was able to answer all of our questions and gave us some time to look over the menu. The complimentary Focaccia Bread with the fresh tomatoes were simple yet delicious. We had olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table as well that could be used as a dipping oil for the bread. I decided on the Onion Soup to start, which was very savory and delicious. For my entree, I ordered the Wagyu Bolognese and my friend ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. Unfortunately, the pasta in our dishes were a bit hard and chewy, it should've been cooked a tad bit longer. Also, my friend asked if the pasta was homemade and the server let us know that it wasn't...we could tell! You would think for an Italian restaurant like this, they would've had homemade pasta, it definitely would've helped the dish. The Bolognese was okay but lacked a lot of flavor. I barely ate it. The restaurant was beautiful and the service was great but I've had better pasta elsewhere. If I were to return, it would probably be for the soup and appetizers.
