We added chili, mustard, and a bit of onion for this one. - A Pork BBQ Sandwich: Really good! I am not the biggest BBQ fan either, but I plan to try the Chicken BBQ next time. Famous Uncle Al's is a big hit! I asked around for hot dog place recommendations, and someone at work said you must try Famous Uncle Al's . I got an iced tea with chipped ice (the best). I also got a hot dog with onions, relish, and mustard. It was perfect! I was so pleased by the simplicity and yumminess of the hot dog. When I went in the restaurant the workers were super friendly and welcoming. It has a old school diner vibe. I looked lost and confused but was asked politely to take a seat. We were approached by our server. She was super nice and outgoing. I ordered the chili dogs and fries. I was excited to have a burger from here because I've heard so much. All I ordered was a double cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. From them taking my order to getting my food was 45 minutes!!!! Finally decided to give this place a try. The ambiance is diner like. Very small, limited seating, bar seats availability. Pay at the register style restaurant. The service is all for one type. Anyone and everyone will help you. They all work super well together. The food was delicious. Nothing fancy here. I got two hotdogs with chili and onion. Put the ketchup on myself as it wasn't listed as an option on the menu, which I don't mind. Everything is served on paper plates. Which, again, is perfectly fine. My husband got the patty melt and we shared some fries. The real winner is their "secret" sauce. Be sure to ask for this as it's not just sitting on the tables like the ketchup. I just want to start by saying I am completely appalled by the conversation that I heard today between 2 employees and a patron. This was regarding the football player Damar Hamlin from the Buffalo Bills. The patron said, "You never know what's going on in peoples bodies, what underlying conditions they might have and he gets paid to play football and that's what they sign up for." The waitress's said that these players know the risks of playing football and you can die. They sign up to possibly die and that's on them. Literally these words coming out of these peoples mouths were so disgusting and I will make sure that I spread the word that it doesn't matter if people get hurt, they sign up to die, and they know what they signed up for and that's what this restaurant apparently stands for. That they can't believe people are holding vigils and prayers for this football player because this young man, who is only in his early 20s, knows what he signed up for and it's his fault this happened. I am not a doctor, so I'm not going to diagnosis. However, at all lines up to something you learn in EMT school. It's a freaking unicorn. It's something that only happens MAYBE a dozen times a year. #commotiocordis with a fatality rate of 75%... but if you do not receive life saving resuscitation within three minutes, that fatality rate gets bigger. You literally have to be hit in the chest, at a specific angle, during a very specific time of your heart rhythm cycle. It literally interrupts your hearts, electrical signal and sends you into a full cardiac arrest. Last time I checked, athletes were humans to, and they deserve to be treated as such. Just because a 20 something year-old makes millions of dollars and people are stuck waiting tables or miserable in their lives, is no reason to speak ill about people. They did not sign up to die. Our order taker recognized that we were first timers and gently guided us through the menu and payment. Both were very lovely. We had dogs, sausage, and fried pickles. Yum yum gimme some!!! We had a hot dog with chili, mini corn nuggets , 1/2 order of onion rings with Pepsi products to drink. Today at lunch they were not wanting for customers, every table full and only 2 seats left at the counter, with a steady stream coming in. In spite of this, the service was fast! The locals seem to love this place because the cashiers almost knew people by name, which was pleasant to see. This is the third Uncle Al's independently owned store that cannot get my orders right! I asked for two dogs grilled well done. They threw them into the fryer because the young woman on the grill was too lazy to cook them well done on the grill! Then I had to request more chili because there was barely any on the dog. I went to pay and the very young manager wants to argue with me? I told her I didn't ask for my dogs to be fried in oil in the deep fryer! I wanted them on the grill! Customer service was horrible! They have a few other things on the menu such as mozzarella sticks. But we came for the hot dogs. They're kind of skinny but good and they put them on toasted hot dog buns. Tip: if you don't specify, they'll give you crinkle fries. If you want those natural looking home fries, you gotta ask for it! I would definitely identify myself as something of a burger connoisseur, so I was not really impressed with their burgers and would probably try something different if we went again. Ehh, not great. The food was scalding hot, and fresh. The process of ordering went very quickly, and our food was done/served in no time at all (the benefit of all pre-made components). I liked the crushed ice for the sweet tea. However, there was absolutely nothing special about the quality of it. Most things were pretty bland. It also all came in super tiny, plain portions (to be expected given the extremely low prices). But, then getting enough to fill up pretty much raised the price to average/higher end fast-food prices. Which in turn... made it more money than it was worth. They had only the most common of toppings (applied very sparsely), on the cheapest bread, and a small selection of sausage (aside from the one actual hotdog). I got almost all of the possible toppings on my dog, and yet it was barely moistened enough (with everything combined) to not be dry. The cheese was not a sauce, but hard rubbery squares. Even though most of the toppings should have packed a punch (chili, sauerkraut, onions, mustard, etc.)... I could barely taste any of them. When you get raw onions on something and yet somehow can't actually taste the onion, you know the tiniest half teaspoon must be on there. A good hotdog should look like a loaded mess, and make a bigger mess to eat...there was so little on it here that it didn't even leave a drop behind or wet the fingers.
