Fried fish was decent. It was a big piece and very crunchy. Maybe a little too crunchy!

Y'all, we just happen to be down here on an errand and being hungry I said to the man, let's try that chicken place. He's eaten at one somewhere else and raved about it. He likes to dine in, I hate crowds so I told him if it wasn't busy (we had tried to dine here in the past and the place had more people in it than those at SITW) so imagine my surprise when at noon this past Saturday found the place empty. We parked right up front and had the entire place to ourselves. I was feeling a little gluttonous and ordered the tenders, fries, mashed potatoes and 2 honey biscuits (and no, I didn't eat all of it in one sitting. I had the rest for dinner). When I picked up the tender it flexed like a raw piece of meat so when I broke a piece off fully expecting to find the chicken uncooked, I found it fully cooked and juicy!! Juicy, people!! I asked for honey mustard and sweet and sour sauces. I found my favorite was the honey mustard. The fries was super hot! I had to let them sit a minute. The mashed taters and gravy were yummy too. Those honey biscuits were like a dessert!! The atmosphere got a 4 because the lobby tables and such were dirty with crumbs. Not enough to make me want to eat in the man's truck but the extra napkins helped clean up. The young lady up front was very friendly, which rounded our visit up to a 5. I will definitely make a return trip as there are other items I'd like to try.

Actually I will give KKC 4.5 stars! We came here on a Saturday evening, my mom and I. I noticed it is under new management but I wouldn't have known the difference since this is my first time going. Hubby has been talking about this place for a while and mom raves about it! Nothing fancy, but boy the smell of fresh fried chicken will knock you off your feet. I ordered a 3 wing meal with mac and cheese and a biscuit, 3 piece dark meat with mashed potatoes, 3 chicken tenders and jambalaya. I absolutely loved the chicken. It was crunchy, very flavorful and the meat was still juicy and tender. The mac and cheese, jambalaya, and the mashed potatoes were very tasty. The guy at the counter was very nice and patient with us, since we took a while figuring out what we actually wanted. There is another part next door where they sell desserts and with more dining space but that side was closed. This place has seriously impressed me. Customer service was great. The chicken was delicious! I thought their price for chicken was a bit expensive, but I guess I'm ok with it as long as it is fresh and quality...and it WAS! I will definitely come again when I have a craving for fresh fried chicken!

I used to go to Royal Farms but after many and I mean many disappointments we decided to try this place and I am so happy we did. The chicken is always fresh. The greens are always on point. The green beans are fire and the cabbage is so good. I tried their beans and rice before and those too are delicious as well. My husband has had a bunch of things from them. So many I can't even remember but he said he has had nothing but delicious food. If you want fried chicken or good comfort food, this is the place to go. The folks are always friendly and have the best customer service ever. In fact when they see my husband walk through the door, they start making the order. Not sure if that's a good thing lol but it makes us feel like we are welcomed. So forget Royal Farms and head over to KKC instead. Best in town.

Friday, January 5, was our first day and our last day visiting this restaurant in Weston Town Center. Two out of a party of four ordered, chicken tenders, thinking that we shouldn't go wrong with tenders, but was a very bad choice since the tenders were chewy and didn't have any flavor at all. We let the waiter know, that our girls didn't like nor eat the tenders, to our surprise we got the full $30 of both tenders. The place is price for the quality of the food.

I really wanted to love this place but what I found was mediocre chicken at a premium price. I've had this spot on my radar for a while and finally stopped in yesterday around 4:30PM. There's plenty of free parking available in the shopping center's private lot though you can only enter and exit in one direction so be prepared to wait through a line of traffic to make a u-turn. Upon entering the restaurant you will find a small space. The main menu is on an overhead board above the order counter, it's illuminated so reading it is very easy. There is also a chalkboard on the wall which details additional items and specials available. There are a few booths in the restaurant if you want to eat in but this appears to be primarily a takeout establishment asd seating is very limited. Don't come in with a full bladder because there's a printed sign posted right at eye level in the center of the main entrance door that says "NO PUBLIC RESTROOM." This is actually a health code violation as a restaurant with customer seating is required to provide a public restroom for its customers. The two young people behind the counter were very friendly and helpful, they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The young lady took my order for an eight-piece mixed order of chicken and three biscuits (one blueberry and two honey butter). I paid with my VISA card and received my order from the young man about a minute later. I drove home and eagerly put the chicken on plates for my wife and I to enjoy. Alas, enjoyment was not to be found as the chicken was just not very good. My wife took one bite of a wing and remarked, "this is terrible" before she got up from the table and made some fish and a salad for dinner. My reaction wasn't as extreme, I just found the chicken to be kind of bland and uninspired. For a restaurant that calls itself "Krispy Krunchy Chicken" the bird just wasn't very crispy or crunchy or even tasty. It was also rather dry and lacking in flavor. I have a feeling it just may have sat under the heat lamps for too long as it wasn't a busy time of day. The blueberry biscuit was nice but the honey butter biscuits were dry and hard. Overall, my first experience with Krispy Krunchy Chicken was a fail. You can easily find better fried chicken at Popeyes, Farm Fresh, Bojangles, Feather-N-Fin, Fry Basket, Moseberth's, Pollard's, Southland Trade, Golden Corral, the corner gas station, the freezer section of your local supermarket, etc... Truth be told, it was pretty bad which really leaves me scratching my head over all the stellar reviews on this page. I do notice that only one other Yelp Elite member, Steffie A, has reviewed this restaurant and she rated it even lower than I did. Maybe I just got a bad batch but I'll never know because I won't be returning.

We easily found a nice table outside and ordered quickly - my husband chose a Chicken Slider, I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and we ordered my baby girl a kid's meal of grilled cheese. I was impressed with the size of her kid's meal - it came with a decent-sized sandwich, huge portion of fries, a small kid's soda and a small custard. It was actually a pretty significant portion and my husband loved helping her finish it. Ha. I really enjoyed my husband's slider and the salads on the menu looked delish. My Nashville hot chicken sandwich was good, but a bit too hot for me, I did think the chicken was delicious. Hubs and I were both impressed with the quality and will happily come back again next time we're on this side of town. Used the restroom to change my daughter and they have a diaper changing station in the bathroom (a must for me now).

I love the selection of sauces, they really make the meal! The only negative thing about this restaurant is every time my husband gets a sandwich that comes out piping hot and my chicken tenders come out barely lukewarm. So much so we've once asked for replacements, which the staff was so great and accommodating. Very chill vibe, clean tables, and they're always playing great music. We always dine in when we stop by. The custard is also great! Love the sauces, love the sandwiches!

My visits to the Raising Cane's Chesapeake location were two different experiences. The first was…read morea solid 5. The second was rounded up to 4. The food was equally good both times. I chose the Chicken Tenders Box Combo both visits. It consists of 4 large pieces of tender juicy chicken & true Deep South Cole Slaw prepared with a light sauce, just like I grew up with. Also included were Crinkle Cut French Fries & awesome Texas Toast. I opted out of their Special Sauce, which I am told is delicious by those who like dipping Chicken Fingers. Lemonade, which is really good, was my drink choice. Perhaps the difference in the visits has to do with time of day. The first visit was mid afternoon, having had a doctor's appointment in close proximity. The personnel were friendly & welcoming. What must have been the manager told us we should come back the next week, on their First Anniversary. We decided to support the restaurant on their Anniversary, meeting friends who lived in Chesapeake. The drive from the Shore Dr corridor to Greenbrier at rush hour was much longer than anticipated. So it was in the midst of the dinner hour when we arrived. The restaurant was extremely busy. The staffing seemed similar to our mid afternoon visit, which wasn't quite adequate to handle the dinner hour level of business. It wasn't an Anniversary crowd. My Chesapeake friends indicated that the restaurant was always that busy. The food tray came so quickly that I was still talking to one of their pleasant personnel, maybe a manager. Although we were able to order quickly, very soon there was a long line snaking past our table towards the back of the store. I was shocked when we left the restaurant at the extremely long line of cars waiting to go through the drive thru. The parking lot of the restaurant didn't come close to containing it. Told that it was always like this, I understood that the staff must be struggling to handle that many customers at one time. One big complaint on my second visit is that one of their 2 unisex, spacious bathrooms was completely out of toilet paper & paper towels. The soap dispenser had the front taken off, obviously by a patron trying to find soap. The inside replaceable plastic bag of soap refills had been squeezed, obviously in an attempt to get the last of the soap remaining. I planned to tell an employee the state of that bathroom but they were so busy that I decided to just return to my table. Obviously this was a good location choice for a Raising Cane's. But I do think they should increase their staffing level during the busy dinner hours. The location was filled with framed Chesapeake History. It was fun to walk around and see the articles & pictures. One was even a page from the 1955 Oscar Smith High School Yearbook. I'll return to this location both for takeout after a doctor appointment or to meet my Chesapeake friends. But I'll definitely leave earlier or take a different route. And I look forward to the opening of their planned Lynnhaven location.

I normally don't go for these types of places as I usually don't get filled up enough due to stingy portion sizes. That is not the case with CAVA, I ordered online since there was one 4 minutes away from my hotel and I didn't need to get stuck in going home traffic in the area. I ordered online through the Yelp link and kind of tried out the online ordering system with less than high hopes that I would get what I wanted. I was surprised that it was easy to order what I wanted and the resulting bowl was pretty heavy in portion size. It is also full of flavor as well. I go for the half chicken/roasted vegetables with half greens/grain. I really enjoy the black bean grains as it adds to the texture of the meal. The chicken is good and the dips and sauces are all really tasty. The store itself is so so. It looks like any make your own pizza, salad, bowl place with a slow down with customers choosing their ingredients.
