Such a cute location, and our server was great once we got seated. We did have a 2hour wait and they won't serve iced coffee before you get a table. You can go to the bar and grab an alcoholic drink but that doesn't work for this prego lady. I was really craving the shrimp and it really hit the spot. By the time the pancakes came I felt stuffed so I don't know if it gave it a fair chance. But they were fluffy exactly how I prefer. I do wish they would take reservations. 1st time here and I'm glad we tried it. We showed up early like 1030ish because we have the kiddos and I we can't do long wait time with them. The hosts were very nice, our server was also friendly and helpful. They start you off with complimentary cinnamon roll which is very generous. I had the shrimp and grits (extra sauce I dislike dry grits) it was good and a generous portion size. Got the kiddos chicken n waffles, the chicken was make with chicken breast which is sort of a rookie mistake it's better with chicken thighs for the flavor. The breading just slides right off the chicken breast! Hubby had an omelette with a side of home fries...he enjoyed the omelette for the so called home fries were potato slices. Happy people serving happy customers! The restaurant was fully staffed with servers and support people who all wore genuine smiles. My wife and I visited on a Saturday around 10:00 AM and Redhead Bay Cafe was busy. The valet promptly parked my car, we requested a table and after a large group was shown to their table we were seated right away. Choose from a huge variety of specialty coffees (hot and cold) as well as many cocktails with and without alcohol. Redhead Bay has a great breakfast, brunch and lunch menu with traditional and creative local selections. Today's diners were pretty evenly split between outdoor and indoor dining. Both areas are new, clean and nicely decorated. We made our selections, our food and drinks were served up promptly. The Big Ass Chicken and Biscuit was a butterflied breaded chicken breast that was plump and flavorful. It features a mayo/mustard sauce complimented by a light honey drizzle. The cheesy grits were creamy and delicious, they complimented the flavor of the Crab Benedict. There are so many more choices, I will be back soon! read more

I dropped into Redhead Bay Café for a Sunday brunch with no reservation, and even though the place was packed, we were seated in about 20 minutes. They have a cozy little lounge area right outside with games and lounge chairs--perfect for keeping kids (or restless grown-ups) entertained while you wait. Inside, the vibe is really rustic and relaxed, and I noticed a stage at the back--looks like they might host performances or open mics. The food was mostly solid: the Catfish Bites (panko‐fried with lemon aioli) were a real standout, while the Chicken & Waffles left a bit to be desired. I also enjoyed the Stuffed French Toast (with sweet berry compote) and a side of their signature scrambled eggs, which were perfectly seasoned. We visited while visiting family in Virginia Beach. First off- I HATE the valet parking situation. The restaurant has plenty of seating options but I felt that for as much seating as they had, limited bathrooms. They offer an extensive coffee menu. Which is great because their water tastes and smells horrible. They have alot of different menu options- something our whole party were able to enjoy. Also some fun kid drink options. Food was good. The final straw was when a large man with glasses came out of the kitchen area wearing a black rubber apron and rubber gloves up to his elbows walked across the dining room and out the side door, it was like something out of a horror movie. Great food, but the overall experience needs fine-tuning I took my boyfriend to Redhead Bay Café for Father's Day brunch, and while the food was great, the overall experience left room for improvement. Upon arrival, we were stopped and told that parking is valet-only. With how busy the café was, they clearly needed more valet staff--only two guys were scrambling between guests waiting to park and others trying to leave. Cars were backed up in front of the café, and people were standing around waiting for their keys. To make things more confusing, the parking lot is right in front of the building, and it's small and tight. Honestly, I would've preferred to park myself. It wasn't clear why valet was necessary or enforced. There was some seating in the VIP bar for guests waiting, but it was tight and filled up quickly. There's also outdoor seating, but it had rained the night before so all the chairs were soaked. It would've been nice to wait in the car, but since valet had our keys and we had no idea where our vehicle was parked, that wasn't an option. We waited about 40 minutes to be seated. While we waited, I got a $7 mimosa and my boyfriend got a $3 black coffee from the VIP bar, which is tucked away in a corner and serves as the only bar for guests who are waiting. Once seated, things improved. The staff was friendly, and our waitress was attentive even though she seemed really busy. I appreciated that she wasn't overly chatty, but she checked in when needed. The food came out quickly, which was a nice surprise. We started with catfish bites--crispy and well-seasoned. I ordered the Campfire Iced Latte and the Big Ass Chicken Biscuit with tots. My boyfriend got the Biscuits and Gravy with tots. Both meals were filling and flavorful, and we had leftovers to take home. Overall, great food and solid service once inside, but the valet system and crowd management need serious improvement. A 30 minute wait with a packed restaurant. I was with a friend and we decided we would share everything to get a taste of it. We had fried green tomatoes, which were amazing and she had the brisket and I had the shrimp and grits .All the food was delicious. The music was way too loud for a restaurant that was loud with people talking Plus. It was country music, which was very annoying. Was served a complimentary cinnamon roll that looked like it came from a store bought tube with Valentine's Day themed frosting. Servers seemed very young, inexperienced and not very lively. I get that places have to serve cocktails to make it worth being open but this place seems like it's just a place for drinkers that do not care too much about food quality. Never coming back. One of our absolute favorites. I'm shocked that I haven't reviewed this place. They have excellent food and drink selections. I ordered the seafood omelette with cheesy grits. I don't like grits but they are my fiancés favorite cheesy grits. The omelette is perfection with lots of perfect size shrimp. So many restaurants will only have two or three shrimp in their seafood omelette. I usually add crab too but decided against it this time. My pickle pig drink (which is not pictured) was great. I wish it was a tad bit more pickly but I blame it on my obsession with pickles. He ordered the Sunday Chicken sandwich with tots and a French press. He said his sandwich was great and he loves their tots. And I ordered a side of maple bacon pancakes which was really tasty. My daughter who couldnt join loves their breakfast burritos too. We went on a Monday and it was pretty empty which was great but that meant the smaller restaurant was the only open area. Expect a wait during weekend brunch which typically has live music in the larger area. That area is so pretty there with the draped linens hanging from the ceiling. Loved the vibe especially when Chef Aristotle came out and told my kiddos to follow their dreams and when our waitress collected all the pretty flower arrangements so I could grab some pics. I've heard nothing but phenomenal things about Redhead Bay Cafe so I was very excited to dine in on a Sunday morning to try it out. As I pulled into the parking lot around 10am expecting to park, I was informed that the weekends are valet parking only, but I didn't mind. The valet attendant was very nice. The wait to be seated was about 35-40 mins but the bar seating in the additional building was 'first come, first serve'. Thankfully, we were able to find two, open seats at the bar and didn't have to wait at all. Once we were seated, the bar attendant passed us menus but we weren't greeted at all for about 10 mins after we were seated. Not even a 'hello'. The bar attendant seemed to be very busy with drink orders. Thankfully, it allowed for us time to look over the menu. I started with the Mimosa and I decided on the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Seafood Omelette with Crab Meat. As we waited for our food, we were provided our drinks. My friend ordered the Espresso Martini Flight which included Tiramisu, Salted Caramel, and S'Mores flavors! The Tiramisu was my favorite. Once the food arrived, everything looked great! The omelette was delicious and I loved the potatoes that were served with it. Unfortunately, the bar attendant forgot to put in my order for the Fried Green Tomatoes so I told her not to worry about it. I'll have to try those next time. Overall, the food definitely made up for the service. A singer was performing on the stage, which gave it a nice vibe, but the music was a bit loud. Hidden gem in pungo area! Decent sized parking lot and when you walk inside it is so cute loved the decor. Very warm and welcoming service it sewmed like everyone was in a good mood and it was rainy and dark that day! Extensive menu with loys to choose from. Coffe drink flights and espresso martini flights in the menu too. My husband had a breakfast combo that came with eggs, a biscuit,tater tots both sausage and bacon,cheese grits(amazing btw) and pancakes which he got chocolate chip and said theu were the best he has had locally. I got the brisket dip sandwhich so good they give you enough brisket for a second sandwich! I got the waffle fries and i tried their almond joy coffee. Half way through the meal the owner came by to see how our food was and of course it was great! 10/10 recommend very good for brunch make the drive and try it. read more

Visited Redhead Bay Cafe again for Father's Day and my review remains the same!! We went right when it opened and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. I figured it would be busy on Father's Day but was pleased that they got us seated so quickly with everyone that was there. I got the Almond Joy Latte this time and it was filled with coconut flavor! Their signature coffees are always so big. Also got the Fried Green (tomato) BLT and loved it! I usually get their fried green tomatoes as an appetizer but having it on my sandwich was pretty delicious. The sandwich was HUGE. I could only eat half of it . I do wish they cut it in half for me because it was difficult but there's so much on the sandwich I understand why they wouldn't haha. I didn't get to try the shrimp and grits but from the picture it looked really appetizing. The portions on everything we ordered were so large, everyone at our table got a to go box lol. It was my dad's first time here and he especially loved the atmosphere. It looks like you could have little wedding receptions or rehearsal dinners or parties here. Very country vibe but with a little elegance if that makes sense. Our server was sweet and accommodating despite how busy she was on this Father's Day. Note to self you're not allowed to park your own car on weekends! So when you pull in and see 2 open spots that doesn't mean whip your car in the spot! Decided to grace the bar with our presence seeing as the wait time for a table was 45 minutes! It's nice to feel like a super star and have the ability for people to move so you and your friend can sit together! Well the super star status officially ends right there!! We sat at least 10-15 long minutes waiting to be greeted. I say long because I already knew what I was drinking a month ago due to the social media posts!! Granted we were given a menu that was slid across like a baseball player sliding into home plate! The bar area is very cute! There's a little area that sells merchandise. They happen to have live entertainment a woman singing. She was pretty good. Just a little loud with everyone talking it made it somewhat difficult to hear your conversation. Finally we got to order our cocktails we informed our waitress/bartender that we are ready to order food too because we weren't sure how long it would take her to come back to us if we didn't order our food. I also ordered a side of home fries/ fried potato slices with chopped onions on top. Oh I guess you're waiting for what cocktail I ordered. Well at least you didn't wait as long as I did over month. Of course I ordered the expresso martini flight!! The only issue with the flight is the size of the glass what a tease I need a full 6-8oz for each please and thank you!! My friend tasted a little sip of my expresso martini, in her own words dang I didn't know what I've been missing! She ordered a boring yes I said boring mimosa. I say boring because come on orange juice and champagne. At least she's a little bit more food, adventurous than I am. She attempted to order the fried green tomatoes, and the reason I say attempted is because she did order it, but apparently the waitress forgot to put that in so she never got her fried green tomatoes, bonus points, the waitress actually admitted that it was her fault , my friend had an omelette with seafood in it. The only criticism she had was she wished it had like a hollandaise sauce or some sort of sauce on it. Should you wonder if I would be going back of course I will if only for the bar atmosphere alone and yes, I'll be getting another flight of espresso martinis. First time at this restaurant but hopefully not my last. Located deep in Pungo, it was a scenic thirty minute ride from my home. My daughter picked this establishment to celebrate her birthday and I must commend her on her choice. They have seating both inside and out (which I'm sure they need during their peak hours) and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Their stuffed french toast with a side of berry compote is a must!!! Just the right amount of sweetness without being sickly and over the top. It was warm but not hot and had clumps in it that were not crab. It's a good place for brunch. I went on Sunday just before noon and could sit at the bar without waiting. It is a family restaurant. I don't know if you can have dogs. It looked like there was outdoor seating, but no one was outside. I ordered the eggs Benedict side of grits and a short stack of bacon maple pancakes. The eggs were okay; nothing special. The pancakes stole the show; bacon and maple syrup are a hit. They have a large selection that you can add to the pancakes. The servers were very nice and did a great job. From the Valet to the hostess, the bar tenders, wait staff and chef, just the sweetest people; laughing, smiling and genuinely enjoying their job. Now let's talk food! Did I tell you that the owner has a you tube channel (The Campin' Kitchen) and if it can be cooked, he's trying it and mastering it before it hits your plate. Been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile and finally brought the family. We went on a Monday. After reading the reviews we all were looking forward to an incredible brunch. Not crowded and ready to see what everyone is giving great reviews on. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone and went to a different restaurant than all the great posts. The grits were lumpy with chunks of coagulated grits and room temperature. The burrito was room temperature such that the shredded cheese was not melted. Ordered banana pancake and after waiting 30 minutes the waitress says they ran out of bananas. The fried green tomato's dripping from grease. The food brought out not all at once and had to finally say can we get the rest of our order. And I guess it was the dishwasher but to come out in black plastic gloves up your elbows dripping from water to clear a table was gross.
