Wife and I went here on a random Thursday morning for breakfast. We were seated right away. Wife ordered gluten free French toast and eggs. It was just ok . Should have soaked bread longer in egg mixture as was a little dry. I ordered traditional eggs Benedict and home style potatoes. It was just ok as it came on a biscuit and the biscuit seemed a little small and a little stale. The potatoes could have been a little more crispy. Bottom line it still tasted good. A final note- the coffee was excellent as was the service.
I want to give a 3/5 but the food and service were good when we finally sat down. I have been here before but it's always dinner and we're always able to make a reservation but this time we weren't allowed because it was Mother's Day. You'd think arriving at 9:30am you'd only have a short wait but 2 and half hours later we were finally sat. Food was good, drinks were good, and the area was clean. I just think it's way overhyped for that long of a wait to be just "good". Nothing special that I can find elsewhere with just small wait.
One of the best brunch places in the area. Super excited for their new location to open up in NC! Their food is delicious. Their coffee is delicious. Their cocktails are delicious. You just need to go there to experience all the deliciousness! Plenty of parking available. Can't park? Don't worry they offer valet too! Oh before I forget! I would definitely go during the Christmas holidays because of the atmosphere/decor!

You can go to the bar and grab an alcoholic drink but that doesn't work for this prego lady. I was really craving the shrimp and it really hit the spot. By the time the pancakes came I felt stuffed so I don't know if it gave it a fair chance. But they were fluffy exactly how I prefer. I do wish they would take reservations. I know we used to do them there during the winter. May have to check out the other location in North Carolina for a lesser wait.

Nice drive to get to this place. I chose to go to the smaller building, both have recommended bar seating for one! Valet parking (boy I wish I finished my mango lassi before I went inside!). Service was good. I ordered shrimp and grits. It's a 4 star. Wish the grits was creamier. They served cinnamon buns, which were on the house!

The hosts were very nice, our server was also friendly and helpful. They start you off with complimentary cinnamon roll which is very generous. I had the shrimp and grits (extra sauce I dislike dry grits) it was good and a generous portion size. Got the kiddos chicken n waffles, the chicken was make with chicken breast which is sort of a rookie mistake it's better with chicken thighs for the flavor. The breading just slides right off the chicken breast! Hubby had an omelette with a side of home fries...he enjoyed the omelette for the so called home fries were potato slices. On what planet are round sliced potatoes home fries. All in all a very good experience.
our server mary was a gem! my boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy which was absolutely slammin. chose this spot for breakfast because he googled 'best biscuits and gravy va beach' and it did not disappoint. the chicken and waffles was more of a miss for me- personally didnt love the breading. what i shouldve done was order a side of gravy to go with it, that wouldve tied the meal together better and given some moisture back to the dish overall loved this spot! will be back next time we are in the area!

I dropped into Redhead Bay Café for a Sunday brunch with no reservation, and even though the place was packed, we were seated in about 20 minutes. They have a cozy little lounge area right outside with games and lounge chairs--perfect for keeping kids (or restless grown-ups) entertained while you wait. Inside, the vibe is really rustic and relaxed, and I noticed a stage at the back--looks like they might host performances or open mics. The food was mostly solid: the Catfish Bites (panko‐fried with lemon aioli) were a real standout, while the Chicken & Waffles left a bit to be desired. I also enjoyed the Stuffed French Toast (with sweet berry compote) and a side of their signature scrambled eggs, which were perfectly seasoned. Oh, and my cocktail was delightful (I wish I remembered the name!). Overall, great place for brunch with excellent ambiance and vibes--I'd definitely recommend it.

Solid local food establishment in the Back Bay community with a wholesome vibe. Every time I come here for delicious food and service, they deliver both consistently. I always say I'm going to branch out and get French toast or Pancakes but I can't never say no to the savory bacon and cheddar grits, or the fluffy scrambled eggs and biscuit that comes with the Little Cedar breakfast platter. It always pairs nicely with the Campfire Smores Latte which I highly recommend. My husband loves the Biscuits and Gravy. Prices are on point for the quality and service. So worth the visit, support the farms you drive by on your way too! read more
My husband and I had an amazing breakfast at redhead Bay Café today, and we are already looking forward to our next visit to try their lunch. From the moment we arrived, the experience was top-notch. Ryan P. At valet greeted us with such a warm smile and positive energy - it truly set the tone for a great morning. The food was absolutely fantastic. My husband loved the meat lovers omelette, and the southern Benedict I ordered was incredible. - full of flavor and perfectly prepared. Our server, Sarah W., Was outstanding. We visited while visiting family in Virginia Beach. First off- I HATE the valet parking situation. The restaurant has plenty of seating options but I felt that for as much seating as they had, limited bathrooms. They offer an extensive coffee menu. Which is great because their water tastes and smells horrible. They have alot of different menu options- something our whole party were able to enjoy. Also some fun kid drink options. Food was good. Service was subpar. read more

This was our second visit - it was much less busy than our first time. We didn't wait at all, which was great! Except for a party of 5 + a toddler we were sat at the tiniest table ever. Our waitress was kind and attentive! We all had drinks they came out fast and were delicious. Presentation is always on point. & the food never disappoints. The chicken sandwich was a table favorite along with the crab Benedict. We love coming here for special occasions since it's a far drive. read more

Great food, but the overall experience needs fine-tuning I took my boyfriend to Redhead Bay Café for Father's Day brunch, and while the food was great, the overall experience left room for improvement. Upon arrival, we were stopped and told that parking is valet-only. With how busy the café was, they clearly needed more valet staff--only two guys were scrambling between guests waiting to park and others trying to leave. Cars were backed up in front of the café, and people were standing around waiting for their keys. To make things more confusing, the parking lot is right in front of the building, and it's small and tight. Honestly, I would've preferred to park myself. It wasn't clear why valet was necessary or enforced. There was some seating in the VIP bar for guests waiting, but it was tight and filled up quickly. There's also outdoor seating, but it had rained the night before so all the chairs were soaked. It would've been nice to wait in the car, but since valet had our keys and we had no idea where our vehicle was parked, that wasn't an option. We waited about 40 minutes to be seated. While we waited, I got a $7 mimosa and my boyfriend got a $3 black coffee from the VIP bar, which is tucked away in a corner and serves as the only bar for guests who are waiting. Once seated, things improved. The staff was friendly, and our waitress was attentive even though she seemed really busy. I appreciated that she wasn't overly chatty, but she checked in when needed. The food came out quickly, which was a nice surprise. We started with catfish bites--crispy and well-seasoned. I ordered the Campfire Iced Latte and the Big Ass Chicken Biscuit with tots. My boyfriend got the Biscuits and Gravy with tots. Both meals were filling and flavorful, and we had leftovers to take home. Overall, great food and solid service once inside, but the valet system and crowd management need serious improvement. I'd come back again, but only on a less hectic day--and hopefully when I can park my own car. read more

We loved our brunch visit! The meal portions are HUGE! & Pricing is in line with portion size. We had a large birthday party, approx 20ppl and everyone loved their meal! The owner came out to say hello & checked on us. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Valet service is required on weekends so bring cash. read more

I've heard nothing but phenomenal things about Redhead Bay Cafe so I was very excited to dine in on a Sunday morning to try it out. As I pulled into the parking lot around 10am expecting to park, I was informed that the weekends are valet parking only, but I didn't mind. The valet attendant was very nice. The wait to be seated was about 35-40 mins but the bar seating in the additional building was 'first come, first serve'. Thankfully, we were able to find two, open seats at the bar and didn't have to wait at all. Once we were seated, the bar attendant passed us menus but we weren't greeted at all for about 10 mins after we were seated. Not even a 'hello'. The bar attendant seemed to be very busy with drink orders. Thankfully, it allowed for us time to look over the menu. I started with the Mimosa and I decided on the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Seafood Omelette with Crab Meat. As we waited for our food, we were provided our drinks. My friend ordered the Espresso Martini Flight which included Tiramisu, Salted Caramel, and S'Mores flavors! The Tiramisu was my favorite. Once the food arrived, everything looked great! The omelette was delicious and I loved the potatoes that were served with it. Unfortunately, the bar attendant forgot to put in my order for the Fried Green Tomatoes so I told her not to worry about it. I'll have to try those next time. Overall, the food definitely made up for the service. A singer was performing on the stage, which gave it a nice vibe, but the music was a bit loud. If I return again, I'd definitely wait to be seated in the normal, dining area for better service. read more

Note to self you're not allowed to park your own car on weekends! So when you pull in and see 2 open spots that doesn't mean whip your car in the spot! Decided to grace the bar with our presence seeing as the wait time for a table was 45 minutes! It's nice to feel like a super star and have the ability for people to move so you and your friend can sit together! Well the super star status officially ends right there!! We sat at least 10-15 long minutes waiting to be greeted. I say long because I already knew what I was drinking a month ago due to the social media posts!! Granted we were given a menu that was slid across like a baseball player sliding into home plate! The bar area is very cute! There's a little area that sells merchandise. They happen to have live entertainment a woman singing. She was pretty good. Just a little loud with everyone talking it made it somewhat difficult to hear your conversation. Finally we got to order our cocktails we informed our waitress/bartender that we are ready to order food too because we weren't sure how long it would take her to come back to us if we didn't order our food. I asked for a recommendation French toast or pancakes she suggested pancakes and she even suggested the flavor I was thinking about ordering. I also ordered a side of home fries/ fried potato slices with chopped onions on top. Oh I guess you're waiting for what cocktail I ordered. Well at least you didn't wait as long as I did over month. Of course I ordered the expresso martini flight!! The only issue with the flight is the size of the glass what a tease I need a full 6-8oz for each please and thank you!! My friend tasted a little sip of my expresso martini, in her own words dang I didn't know what I've been missing! She ordered a boring yes I said boring mimosa. I say boring because come on orange juice and champagne. At least she's a little bit more food, adventurous than I am. She attempted to order the fried green tomatoes, and the reason I say attempted is because she did order it, but apparently the waitress forgot to put that in so she never got her fried green tomatoes, bonus points, the waitress actually admitted that it was her fault , my friend had an omelette with seafood in it. The only criticism she had was she wished it had like a hollandaise sauce or some sort of sauce on it. Should you wonder if I would be going back of course I will if only for the bar atmosphere alone and yes, I'll be getting another flight of espresso martinis. First time at this restaurant but hopefully not my last. Located deep in Pungo, it was a scenic thirty minute ride from my home. My daughter picked this establishment to celebrate her birthday and I must commend her on her choice. They have seating both inside and out (which I'm sure they need during their peak hours) and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Their stuffed french toast with a side of berry compote is a must!!! Just the right amount of sweetness without being sickly and over the top. Such an awesome spot! Loved the vibe especially when Chef Aristotle came out and told my kiddos to follow their dreams and when our waitress collected all the pretty flower arrangements so I could grab some pics. The food was incredible- we had stuffed French toast and the big and little cedars. I also got an iced Irish coffee that really hit the spot. After breakfast the kids needed to escape so we went outside and found some chalk. Kept them entertained for a while! Highly recommend and this is going to be a repeat for us any time we're in the area! read more

I'd definitely come back. The Benedict was fantastic. The best I've had in this area so far with perfectly poached eggs. The she crab soup may have been having a bad day? It was warm but not hot and had clumps in it that were not crab. It seemed to taste like it was thickened but not properly so it had clumps of gooey flour, it also lacked flavor and was pretty greasy. I asked our server if I could switch it out with a regular side and let her know why I wasn't a fan and she took care of it. I ended up with the cheese grits and they were great! They have required valet on the weekends so don't forget some cash. They had cute little Valentines decor on the stage area. read more

We recently dined here for the first time in Father's Day..it was excellent! We got there when it opened and it was a shorter than expected wait. The staff was all very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was beautiful inside and very spacious. & The food! Everything was delicious! read more
