My daughter wanted tuna and son got ham and cheese slims. Much better sized for my two growing teenagers. Sit down to eat and my daughter only get about three bits in before we realize the tuna has onion and celery. Opps! She's not mad but a bit upset because she doesn't like tuna with onion. Go back to counter to order her another sandwich and Jelyn said not to worry about paying. Totally shocked. I was ready to pay and she said no. Not too many places would do this anymore. I'm a fan of the chain and think that they are a step above Subway. This is a location I've never tried to my recollection. I'm in the Town Center area often, but it's not an easy in and out with challenged parking. Parking is by an adjacent surface lot that is utilized by nearby businesses. On weekends is your best opportunity to have no issue. The walk up is awkward and could be made better with shrubs that block an easy path. They offer a table outside the door. The area was free of debris. No greeting on waking into a dead restaurant around 1 PM on Saturday. A few tables needed wiped down. For the most part the dining room was clean and presented nicely. A female staffer took the order of a plain turkey and cheese combo with cookie for my son. The woman put in the order and proceeded the card without incident. She was not friendly, no smile, no greeting just there. This is not a good face for the business. The prices do tilt higher at JJ vs. a Subway. The drink area was clean and a Minute Maid Lemonade dispensed easily. The order was up quickly and appreciated since I was in a hurry. The sandwich was wrapped up tightly and handed over by a male staffer. Also no smile or pleasantries which is a miss for a lasting impression of the business when exiting. No sooner than getting in the car the sandwich was unwrapped and found to have tomatoes, mayo and lettuce. Since it was ordered plain I returned the sandwich and it was quickly remade. No apology from the male staff that had originally handed it off. The sandwich, chips and cookie all tasty and a perfect get on the road meal. Was at a hunger rating of about 6, decided to try and order online for pick up in store as soon as possible. Got the Veto, and a letter wrap sandwich instead of the french bread for giggles. Not even 5 minutes later walked downstairs, crossed the street, and food was already packed and ready for us to pick up to go. Sandwich was good, for what little we paid, got a nice serving. I work two blocks away and ordered 11 subs for my team at noon last week. Got a call 15 minutes later that, due to the size of the order, it would take "longer than usual" to deliver. Fine. I finally called back at 1:00 and was told they were about to be delivered. I called back again at 1:30 and was told that the bread was almost done baking. The food was delivered at 1:55. Two hours after being ordered. I got a meek "sorry it took so long" from the driver, and that was it. I filed a complaint on the JJ website and got a $10 gift card in the mail, no "sorry" or anything. My order was $110 and I wish I had canceled it before it was delivered. I will not frequent this location ever again and will pass the word along to my 150+ co-workers. Save yourself the trouble and drive by this place and go to Firehouse or Jersey Mike's instead. I work nearby: had lunch here once and my company gets a lot of catering from them. I find their sandwiches pretty generic. What bothers me is the bread. It's "homemade French" and it's so light and airy...totally the opposite of how I like my bread (dense and hearty). They're called "Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches" but I'm not sure why. The menu just has the basic turkey, tuna, ham, roast beef stuff with lettace, mustard, mayo, etc. I have to admit: I would much rather get a $5 footlong at Subway: better selection of ingredients and better bread. So on a special order, I asked them to make a Vito's sub that would last seven hours on a plane trip from VA Beach until I could take it to her in San Diego. Sure, its a chain. Sure, the menu is surprisingly limited. No, there isn't a lot of "sandwich art" going on, and yet...the place is pretty addictive. The staff is nice and the service is astoundingly fast. I mean really fast. Twice now I've had the sandwich handed to me before the credit card had finished processing. That's fast. This is more of a service review as this location has always served me VERY well. I got home late one night tired and hungry. Too lazy to cook and totally ignorant to JJ's closing time, I picked up my phone and called at 10:05 and asked if they were still delivering for the night. The guy on the phone said they actually closed at 10. I said OK thanks and he proceeded to tell me that he would go ahead and hook me up and would take my order.... a delivery order. Blown away, I told him that wasnt necessary, however, he said it was totally fine. I dont know many places that would do this, let alone take a walk-in order. Needless to say, once the driver rang my bell to give me my sandwich I followed up with a handsome tip. It's hard to beat that kind of service. As for the food, if you like cold sandwiches then IMO it's always a good choice. What I like most about Jimmy Johns is their bread; the French bread to be exact. The wheat is good, too, but the french bread just has this incredible mixture of taste, texture and density. Unlike ANY other bread from any other chain sandwich shop. Personally, I prefer a toasted or hot sub, but the cold subs at JJ's always makes me think twice. JJ's doesnt toast so if you're looking for that then you dont want to go here. The young man that took my order I swear he had it finished even before I finished telling him what I wanted lol I'm always confused at how fast they make these sandwiches. I will say that if you want add ins like oil/vinegar, pickles, etc To make sure you tell them while your ordering because a lot of the times the "sub connoisseur" starts to make it as soon as they hear you ordering. But I love their sandwiches. They have something for everyone. My favorite is the Vito , an Italian style sub. I ordered on this day an ultimate blt sandwich. My boyfriend seemed to enjoy it. This is one of his go-to places lol this is also one of the few places that uses Hellman's mayo and he's a mayo lover (gross). I've always loved this restaurant not matter what location. It's kinda like Cold Stone, a joyful place where everyone working there seems like friends, smiling, having a great day, and working hard. Today was my first time ordering on 7-grain bread opposed to their typical sub French bread. It was fresh and soft with a little crunch from the grains. No matter how busy they are they always seem to get your sandwich to you in two seconds flat. Today I overheard the manager introduce himself to the customers when he had the opportunity to run the register for a minute or two. I thought that was very nice. Any downtime they get they are cleaning and organizing. I always see them organizing the front where they keep the chips and today they were cleaning all the glass around the kitchen area and front door. Also, even though they are busy they keep an eye out for customers leaving after dining in and shout out that they hope they have a good rest of their day.
