If you love burritos, you need to track down The Coop food truck. Hands down my favorite food truck in Virginia Beach! I stopped by during their pop up at Farmhouse Brewery and, once again, they did not disappoint. One thing you need to know: their burritos are massive. We're talking "the size of your head" big, so come hungry or be ready for some epic leftovers. The menu is small and focused (usually around four burrito choices), but every single one is packed with quality ingredients and flavor. The Coop spends most days serving on base, but keep an eye out for their local pop-ups. They're always worth chasing down. This time around, I ordered the Pepper Jack Chicken Burrito which was grilled chicken breast, maple bacon, melty pepper jack cheese, and their signature Coop Sauce, all bundled up in a warm tortilla. Every bite was the perfect balance of hearty, savory, spicy, and just a hint sweet from the bacon. Their Coop sauce is one of a kind. Tangy, and delicious. I'm sure adding an egg would take it to the next level (that's an option on all burritos). My friends had the Breakfast Burrito! This one comes with fluffy scrambled eggs, sharp cheddar cheese, juicy sausage, more of that craveable maple bacon, herby potatoes, and (of course) the signature Coop Sauce. They raved about every bite. I appreciate that The Coop keeps things simple with their streamlined menu and focus on top-notch burritos. Whenever I see them around town, I make it a point to stop ... even if there's a line, it moves fast and is absolutely worth the wait. Best breakfast burritos in Hampton Roads. The coop sauce is incredible, the tortillas are perfectly chewy while also nicely crisped. I tried their original breakfast burrito and their Fall Special burrito. Both were great. I personally liked the original better, but enjoyed each bite of both. There are multiple food trucks, in many locations daily. I went to the one on Little Creek base which is in the parking lot in the corner of Gator & Independence. Pay close attention to their website, because locations change. They often frequent markets and events, which is also posted on their website. Be prepared about this: when they sell out, the truck closes and it's pretty hard to figure out if this has happened. I recommend coming on the early side to be on the safe side. I've had the opportunity to try out their breakfast burritos twice now at commonwealth brewery and they are delicious. For once people are not lying about the craze. I highly recommend getting one when you get a chance and add some yummy hot sauce. My sister tried one of their chicken burritos and those look bomb as well. Oh wow- this was so freakin good. I have seen The Coop out and about, but the breakfast sandwich angle wasn't really attracting me to even check out their menu. Then I saw them again last week at the ADP Corporate 5K- I was absolutely starving, and I knew they had big portions so I headed straight to them. First- it's not just breakfast sandwiches/wraps/burritos. They have more lunch-y style burritos too. I opted for the "basil chicken and mozzarella burrito." It was just delicious! Seriously. First bite I got some of that amazing mozzarella and it was just more amazing flavors from there. I'll have a hard time trying something else next time I see them on a food truck line up. This was my second time with the coop. My first was at the farmhouse brewery with cool crisp draft (you just cannot go wrong with that lol). And we ordered bunch of wraps for work lunch of course minus beer . My habanero egg bacon wrap was excellent with a nice amount of spices. It was a giant wrap as it always is but I managed to eat them all in one sitting then I wasn't able to avoid the food coma soon after lol. I haven't done any food trucks in a while before today, however, at work today I didn't bring lunch so I decided to check this food truck out. Now, I'll start out saying that if you're chicken to try this place out, don't fly the coop on this one. Based on this experience, I would continue to support them. For lunch, I ordered the chicken bacon pepper jack burrito. The burrito also comes with lettuce, tomato , and onions with their coop sauce. By far, this was one of the largest portions that I have gotten from the food trucks I've visited. After getting the burrito, I went back inside to eat. The burrito was filled with bacon and chicken. I was worried at first that it might have been filled in with the veggies, which was not the case. The burrito was delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. It was better than what I've had at other brick and mortar places. Although I didn't do it, you can also get chips and drinks as well. I have a few notes about this food truck. All prices are inclusive of taxes, so the amount on the board is the amount you pay (either by cash or credit). Even at lunch, their menu has breakfast items available as well. This food truck is so unprofessional and waste of gas and time. I looked on their website before heading in route to them. On their website it states hours and location. However, they have no telephone number listed. After driving 28min to them on the military base the base said they left out and no longer there and to drive around town looking for them. Per the coop website it states they open at 6:45am and the base said they left at 8:30am. They don't have a closing time listed. They only have email to contact them by therefore, I just wasted my time driving around a goose egg hunt following their Scooby-Doo mystery clues trying to find this food truck. I don't like food trucks up until today. I tried The Coop at the yoga Ohana fest. I got their Greek yogurt and honey parfait and it was amazing. I also got their basil chicken burrito.
