Carnitas street tacos
Julio H.

This place should be a 5-star restaurant. I'm giving them three stars because of the smell. The restaurant had a weird smell. It could have been disinfectant, but it was not good. Luckily, they have outdoor seating. The outdoor seating faces Ocean View Road, so there is a lot of vehicle noise. The service was fine; I have zero complaints. The food. And this is where this place shines. Birria tacos are excellent. They're messy and topped with onions, cilantro and Melted cheese and sauce was on the side. Carnitas tacos. Slow-cooked pork with red onions and cilantro. Very good. I think that birria tacos are great, but sometimes, the sauce covers up the flavor of the meat. The pork was out in front. There was nothing to hide, and it stole the show. The horchata was excellent as well I want to return, but they must do something about the smell.

Empanadas! These were really good!

I like how close Big Boss is to my home. Biking there will be fun! The food was pretty good (I've had better refried beans at Jessy's or even Azteca), but the service could use some improvement. (I realize they are new, and still working out the kinks) When we were seated, I asked the young lady (who appeared to be Latino) if they had any dishes with mole sauce. Not only was she not sure if there's any dishes with mole...but she had never heard of mole sauce! Really?! Someone in our party had ordered a horchata drink. When it was empty, I asked the server if a refill was included free. She said "Yes it is". When I paid my bill, I then saw I was charged for the refill. By that time I was so ready to go...I didn't want to wait to speak to the manager or whatever... I think once they have the permit to sell margaritas...I will be more happy with this place!

The customer service was excellent! Great food, excellent location. You can take your food to go and eat at the beach just a block away. The patio is going to be a great place to eat once the restaurant opens. Must try in Oceanview!

I had passed this place several times before they opened and I just happened to drive by on the Fourth of July and noticed that they were open so me and my daughter made a conscious effort to come and check this place out for lunch today. My daughter ordered the Philly cheesesteak burrito and I had the Birria tacos. When I come into a restaurant to do a review, I look at everything how the staff treats you how the food taste compared to other places my daughter was very impressed with her burrito with the exception that it was overloaded with green peppers, I took a bite and I agreedshe tasted my tacos and said that they were more flavorful than the other style of tacos that we had in various other places the only thing that I was disappointed about was on the menu when I ordered. my meal was supposed to come with three tacos, rice and beans. I didn't realize until I actually reviewed the menu again before I wrote this post and I never got my rice and beans and that's normally what I really enjoy next to the tacos, the staff was nice. The young lady that waited on us was a little eager. She kept asking when we ready to order, but we needed a minute because the menu is very fast if you go online or their website, please note the menu in-house. The prices are higher. We did notice that because we did a little bit of reviewing the place and looking at other people's reviews before we even went. I can honestly say I will go back but when I go back, I'm going to make sure that I look at the menu and get exactly what I paid for. We spent almost $70 with tip and we didn't get all of our food. That's a little pricey for a burrito and just three tacos oh my daughter had a large passion fruit drink. I had water so I can't say it's on the pricey side, but it's worth it because it was flavorful. Enjoy the pics I only gave it three stars because I didn't get my complete meal.

New place wanted to check it out . Not sure if it was the smell of bathroom .. and yes ... smelled like old toilet water or the dirty menu ( wipe the menu off ) that made us leave . We lasted 2 mins .. we will NOT be back !

Steak fries burrito...kinda. if you can call that steak

Ok guys. Please do better. Waited almost a year to open. Went once to the truck to sample. It was horrendous! I got the steak with fries burrito. Fries were only halfway cooked....if that. The meat was worse than steak mmmmms. I messaged the restaurant on fb messenger and never heard back. So the restaurant opens and we figured it would be better than the truck. I agreed to give them a second shot. I should not of. Me and my girl were totally disappointed with what we got. Skip this place and go to Chipotle...atleast they are consistent there.

Perfectly grilled bread, the Mac n cheese was creamy and absolutely covered in cheese - this is not a lightweight option but well worth sharing with a friend! The service was quick and the food delicious, highly recommend them and can't wait to try one of their other sammies!

I was super excited about the menu, I had trouble deciding on what to get. When we got to the brewery, there was no line out front. My boyfriend and I ordered the Buffalo Wing grilled cheese, The Mac Daddy, and the fried mac and cheese balls. They didn't have the bacon mac and cheese balls, which was a bummer. I liked that they gave us a number stand to put on our tables and they brought the food to us. That's where the good stops. The fried mac and cheese balls were a HUGE let down. The breading had a weird texture to it, the mac and cheese inside was pretty dry, and definitely needed some more cheese. It didn't have much flavor to it at all. It was disappointing. The sandwiches were very average too. I ate the buffalo wing sandwich. The chicken wasn't bad, but it was just doused with some hot sauce. I love a grilled cheese with a massive amount of cheese, but with the hot sauce everything became a gloopy, greasy mess. It was hard to eat and everything kept sliding out. I never thought I would say this about a grilled cheese, but they probably could have done with not trying to stuff it with as much cheese and grease. I had to end up eating most of it with a fork. The loaded cheese fries with pulled pork did look really good! I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this place. If it was at another brewery the same time I was, I would definitely try the fries next time, but skip everything else. It's honestly not worth the calories.

I stopped by during their pop up at Farmhouse Brewery and, once again, they did not disappoint. One thing you need to know: their burritos are massive. We're talking "the size of your head" big, so come hungry or be ready for some epic leftovers. The menu is small and focused (usually around four burrito choices), but every single one is packed with quality ingredients and flavor. The Coop spends most days serving on base, but keep an eye out for their local pop-ups. They're always worth chasing down. This time around, I ordered the Pepper Jack Chicken Burrito which was grilled chicken breast, maple bacon, melty pepper jack cheese, and their signature Coop Sauce, all bundled up in a warm tortilla. Every bite was the perfect balance of hearty, savory, spicy, and just a hint sweet from the bacon. Their Coop sauce is one of a kind. Tangy, and delicious. I'm sure adding an egg would take it to the next level (that's an option on all burritos). My friends had the Breakfast Burrito! This one comes with fluffy scrambled eggs, sharp cheddar cheese, juicy sausage, more of that craveable maple bacon, herby potatoes, and (of course) the signature Coop Sauce. They raved about every bite. I appreciate that The Coop keeps things simple with their streamlined menu and focus on top-notch burritos. Whenever I see them around town, I make it a point to stop ... even if there's a line, it moves fast and is absolutely worth the wait. Whether you're looking for a new lunch favorite or just crave seriously great street food, The Coop is a true gem on the Virginia Beach food truck scene. Can't wait to catch them at their next pop-up!

I have been here several times to pick up food, but this was my first time actually going inside to order. The line was long around lunchtime, but it moved quickly. It is fast casual style, so you walk down the line choosing what you want and then pay at the register. I honestly had no idea that was how it worked before, so I was prepared to wait a while. I was pleasantly surprised at how efficient everything was. I was in and out much faster than expected. While putting my order together, the man helping me handed me a sample rib over the counter. I am a very socially awkward person and do not handle unexpected moments very gracefully, so I probably reacted a little awkwardly. That part was on me. The rib was GOOD though. He was very kind about my reaction and even handed me a napkin. The whole staff was friendly, asking how my week was going and checking in to make sure everyone was happy. Even though it was busy, they clearly care about customer service. The food was great. The garlic and green onion sausage had so much flavor, and the bananamisu was the perfect sweet finish. I originally went in hoping to order the BBQ oxtail, but they were sold out within two hours of opening, which honestly says a lot about how good they must be. I had also gone the day before around 7 PM and they had already closed because they were sold out for the day. Just a heads up that they do close early if they run out of food. Overall, great food, friendly staff, and quick service. I will definitely be back and hopefully I will finally catch the oxtail next time.

We ordered a little bit of everything: the pinchos de cerdo, alcapurrias, pastelillos de carne y de pollo, and chicharrones de pollo. The pinchos were flavorful and cooked just right, and the alcapurrias had that crispy outside with a soft, seasoned filling that really hit the spot. The pastelillos were fresh and tasty too -- perfect if you're craving something savory and handheld. The chicharrones de pollo were good, but they came with arroz con bacon, which wasn't really our favorite. We probably would've preferred rice and beans or rice with gandules for more of that traditional flavor. It was still decent, just not our top choice. We also tried the fries with cheese and bacon -- they were okay, but again, not our favorite thing on the menu. What really stood out though was the service. The guy at the window was very polite, attentive, and super respectful. That kind of customer service makes a difference and definitely leaves a good impression. Overall, solid spot if you're craving Puerto Rican bites. We'd definitely recommend stopping by and trying it for yourself!
