The food is always amazing, we are frequent in this location. My steak fajita is not so good today it was not tender but everything else in our order was good. You cannot beat a free chips. Definitely not like the places Im from... Chile Relleno tasted like it had Velveeta cheese inside and it looked and tasted depressing. Queso and tortillas need to be paid for Idk if its standard in Virginia for places to charge for queso an tortillas but where Im from its standard that its free and unlimited. Been coming here for years! Service is always super quick and the food is always good. They have Spanish music playing in the background which is always fun to listen to. By the time they bring you the chips and dips (which you gotta have white dip obvi), your food will be there within like 5 minutes. My go to is the fajita taco salad. The best part is eating the shell once you finish the salad. If I'm feeling crazy I'll get some jalapeno poppers. The jalapeno poppers come with lettuce and cheese which I don't think is entirely necessary but fine nonetheless. On this occasion we didn't get alcoholic drinks, but their margaritas are fantastic. The food was on point, I always prefer my quesadillas free of peppers, onions, tomatoes etc. Even though they make it known on the menu the meat is cooked with those ingredients, they still got it perfect for me! My boyfriend noted that the beans in the combo were some of the best he's had. The service was so quick even on a busy Saturday night, very great servers with a manager keeping eye on every table! Haven't been here in ages. Nothing has changed...and that's a good thing. The complementary chips and salsa hit the table befores one can take a seat...just like always. Sadly I was a little disappointed in my last visit. I have frequented for years and generally order steak tacos asada. On this visit they served them on a taco holding platter with 3 soft tortillas with a miniscule amount of beef in each one. No lettuce or pico to accompany it and a plate of refried beans. Not like before when the plate was full of tender steak bites with the tortillas wrapped in foil. Looks like they have really cut back. We finally found an authentic tasting Mexican restaurant! My husband stopped in to pick up our takeout order and came home reporting that this will be a good date night spot because of its liveliness and cleanliness. I was not able to eat all of my food because the portions were so big, placing it in the fridge for lunch a couple of days later. After warming it up in the toaster oven it was almost better than it was the night we picked it up. this is definitely our number two favorite in the area. read more

I haven't visited El Azteca since my college days, but it also means they've been in business for a long time. They are obviously doing something right just because of that. It's been a long time since I dined here but with them being close to my parents' house we decided to head over to celebrate Father's Day (on 6/16/19). They were packed but we lucked out because we were still seated immediately. There were 4 of us - my dad, mom and my maternal uncle, who was visiting from the Philippines. Service is always good; like many of the local Mexican restaurants I've visited, the waitstaff uses a team effort to assist their patrons. We saw a multitude of people at our table - one to sat us; one who took our drink order, then our food order; one who dropped off the food and drink; one who bussed our table when we were done eating; one who dropped off the check; and so on. They are on top of things and definitely understand the concept of sense of urgency. Food is excellent, too. I ordered a carnitas dish which was served with rice, beans a small salad and tortillas. I devoured my food - I was hungry but it was easy to eat something that tasted delicious. So if you're hungry and don't have a lot of time to eat, then head over to El Azteca. We are a party of 4, ages 54, 50, 15, and 14. We rarely all agree any given restaurant was all good, or all bad... But I am happy to report we all agree El Azteca of E. Little Creek NEVER fails us. It is the most consistent and always good Mexican restaurant we know of, and we tried just all of them in the area. Our server was a young lady, who was bubbling with perkiness, smiles, and the desire to please. That added to the whole experience tonight. My husband and I always come here for our quick fix of Mexican food and when I say quick, I mean quick! They have the best service - very attentive and super fast. We always get seated immediately, greeted almost instantly with chips and salsa/white sauce and after maybe 5 minutes of ordering, food is ready! The food is consistently good and the prices are reasonable. Today we ordered the fajitas for 2 for $30 consisting of steak, chicken, shrimp and chorizo. Really good deal for the quantity and quality of food. We got stuffed and still had leftovers for both our lunches the next day. This is a killer good taco and enchilada spot. The service is outstanding. You are seated immediately. Waiter arrives promptly to take the order without a mistake. Drinks come out within a minute (even margs). Food I swear comes out in about 5 minutes. They truly cater to your every need and have seamless team work. Get us in, get us fed and get us drank, and we go happily on our way. Also of many "nicer or fancier establishments" should take note. This place has been here so long...if I have the opportunity to get fried ice cream, I'm doing it. I always, always get full of chips and dip. The white sauce is yummy and not the weird mayonnaise type stuff other Mexican restaurants serve. The tamales are on point and are my personal favorite. My friends and I went to this restaurant and we ordered Jumbo Skinny Margartias.  The Margaritas came and I swear they had ZERO alcohol in them. We told the waitress and she made no attempt to add alcohol or remake the drink. The price for  a Jumbo Margarita on the menu was $15.99 and we assumed the cost would be roughly the same. We were SHOCKED when the price for the skinny was $25.99. When I called the restaurant to see if they would refund the drink or offer a credit for a new drink I was told by the Manager that they would never do that and I was just "wasting his time." So basically, I paid $30 with the 12.5% food tax for a virgin margarita. STAY AWAY! Go to Jose Tequilas just down the street and get a drink you can enjoy and customer service to go with it! read more

My first time... all that! I enjoyed everything! I have heard many great things about this place, but hadn't visited until a week or so ago! I am definitely a fan! I dined here on a Saturday late afternoon and everything was on point. I was immediately greeted upon entering and seated within seconds. I sat at a booth, but free standing tables are available as well. Once I was seated a cute waiter arrived within seconds... ready to take the order.... chips and salsa and a white sauce arrived a few seconds later... I am just so impressed with the timeliness of everything. Food order was placed and it was delivered to the table in under 15 minutes. I had a few special request for my order and it was on point! NO complaints at all. The restaurant was clean on the inside and out... the staff was friendly and the waiter was attentive throughout the dining experience. Outdoor seating is available. The parking lot area seemed fairly minimal unless there is parking behind the restaurant. But it was all good, I recommend you give this place a try. I would never recommend this place ever again! And they've lost a customer for life. For some odd reason they feel that they need to charge you two dollars for a refill of iced tea. I have been eating here for years, after never doing this Some brilliant idiot that runs the place, has decided to change things and not inform their customers. I bought two meals one to take home and one I ate there. Of course While waiting for my order to take home, I had a couple of refills of iced tea. Even while I ate my first meal the waiters just kept coming back when my tea was only half empty, asking if I'd like a refill. Not letting me know that they're now charging two dollars for every refill of tea. Who charges for refills? So I would stay away from this restaurant going forward because the refills of my iced tea or seven times and my drink cost me $14 and just refills an ice tea cost $3.99. My beverage was more than either of my meals Lastly, I'm from Colorado and the Mexican restaurants out here are not Mexican restaurants. These are more South American Mexican restaurants than anything. Most Mexican restaurant would have on their menu a large burrito that is usually beef and bean smothered and green chili sauce tufts with lettuce, tomato. guacamole, and sour cream. Out of about 30 different restaurants I have yet to find this one simple plate. It should not be over $10 on anybody's menu. Went on Cinco de Mayo and I ordered nachos which were salty and no color to them. It was lunch time and for 4 people, it was $87. They had a lot of signs posted about what they were not doing (no more than 6 in a party, no tableside guacamole, no flavored martinis) no where did they have posted you have to pay for a drink of water and that extra lettuce would cost you $2.00. They even put you on notice that you only get 1 refill on soft drinks, after that it's $1 for refills. I'm now on notice whenever I go to Mexican restaurants to ask if water costs. We came with a large group of friends--about 15 of us. Considering the size of our group, the restaurant was very accommodating! We had a cozy corner with a large table and a booth and we had a good time. Food was decent! My SO thought her steak was just ok, but we both agreed that my carnitas were tender and pretty tasty. The frozen margaritas was sweet (a little too much for me) but good. It was typical Mexican restaurant food, good but nothing special.
