We love this place. It's walking distance from our VRBO rental. We walk here, have dinner then walk home. The neighborhood is great. The staff are super friendly. The food is. Fresh and so good. I have tried a couple different items, but I love the Guaca chicken tacos. They are healthy and keto friendly. My husband loves the tilapia tacos. I highly recommend the food and service here. read more

The food lacked flavor. The service was good. The restaurant itself was okay but could have been cleaner. The "lemonade" was water with a few drops of lemon juice or koolade, it was terrible. read more

This is our go to spot for delicious Mexican food! Luckily, we live right around the corner from Bronco and have been here many times. I first tried this spot two Summers ago while visiting the VA Beach area with a friend. I raved about the delicious food and was hopeful that I would have it again. After moving to the area, I was thrilled to learn they were right around the corner from my new home. The service is always friendly and quick. Typically, they are busy especially on Tuesdays, Fridays, and weekends. But food is always out in a quick fashion. I love their chips and salsa with the Mexican ranch sauce. It's by far my favorite. read more

The staff here are exceptional. Always smiling, always friendly, always polite and professional. Food is good (looking at you, fajita chimichanga!) and it comes out quick. On top of it all, the prices are reasonable. I have zero complaints and only compliments. Thanks you to the Broncos staff for feeding me. read more

I ordered the fajita nachos for dinner because I was looking for something quick. Broncos had just reviews and my cousin recommended it. The food was cooked to order and was piping hot when I received it. It was absolutely delicious and didn't want the meal to end! I highly recommend the fajitas nachos and the queso. It's enough for two people as well. read more

The restaurant is very nice inside your typical Mexican restaurant!! Plenty of seating for large groups!! A great fully stocked bar! The server was top notched! He was pleasant, very knowledgeable and even provided recommendations! He even provided a little comedy!! Cocktails were ordered by some of us they came out fast. Everyone liked them. We all ordered margaritas some ordered frozen and some of us ordered on the rocks! The food came out pretty quick there were a few issues very minor. The issues were quickly resolved! Everyone enjoyed their meals!! All of the meals were delicious! The dessert we all agreed we could have passed on. The desserts took quite some time to prepare it was 20-30 minutes. We were about to cancel. Honestly it wasn't their best part of the meal. I would definitely go back for margaritas and food but pass on dessert. Give this place a try and come back and share what you think. read more

I recently had lunch at Bronco Mexican Grill, located on Kempsville Road and Volvo Parkway in the heart of Chesapeake. It's been a while since my last review and I believe that an update is in order. The food here is very good and the staff are friendly. Admittedly, I'm a a fan of tacos and they make good ones here. Whether you like beef, chicken or something else, they have you covered. Their salsas cover the gambit from mild all the way to super spicy. They also make great margaritas and they have a great selection of tequila available for every taste and budget. Check out Bronco Mexican Grill, you'll be glad you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local restaurant community! read more

We are town for Softball tournament. Looking for some Mexican food and Yelp suggested Bronco Mexican Grill. When we got to the restaurant, the windows are covered and it's in a plaza. Well don't let that fool you! This place is a definite must! We walked and before we could say a word we were greeted with a smile and asked how many. Sat right away and waiter was there with chips, salsa, and dip. Good chips, so good we went through 3 baskets and ordered Queso(twice). Our waiter, Heber, was outstanding. He was very considerate and helpful. Always asking if we needed anything. Tony ordered chicken bacon onions peppers, very good! Bella ordered a burrito which was huge, ate all of it! Liv ordered a enchilada dinner, she ate all of it! I ordered the Carnitas dinner. The pork was delicious. Price was very reasonable for 4 with dinner and drinks. read more

The only thing better than the service and hospitality is the food at this hidden gem. After years of eating at the Mexican restaurants you see ads for we tried Bronco and we've stopped going to the VB staples for Mexican all together now. Inside you'll find supple leather booths adorned with a horse motif. There are horses hidden all over the place and my daughter loves looking for all of them. The lighting is soft but you can see inside very well. When it's peak hours it can be a little loud inside but that's only because everyone is having such a good time. The margaritas are fantastic and they have a great selection of Mexican beers. There's a diverse menu with something for everyone. I have to say I was a little skeptical of shrimp from a Mexican restaurant as someone who really loves fresh shrimp, but I was not at all disappointed. I strongly recommend the bronco special. Sorry for the picture, I couldn't help it we cleared all of our plates. read more

if there's one thing that Hampton Roads has, it's a multitude of mexican restaurants. not only is their restaurant blocks away from where I live, but it is also (in my opinion), one of the better tasting mexican restaurants. it's up there with las palmas and la patrona, so don't ask me to rank them, that would be tough. if you plan on visiting, plan accordingly. their happy hour gets packed really fast and for a long period, but for good reason. food is fantastic, service is impeccable, and the vibe is very relaxed. what can beat that? it might be one of the smaller restaurants, but i'm hoping that will change in the future. read more

I recently met my son for dinner here because it was close to his hotel where he's staying while traveling for work. He and his coworkers had tried other places but I saw this was highly rated on yelp and wanted to give it a try. It's located in a shopping center so parking is good. The inside is pretty neat with wooden booths and a large mustang horse on the ceiling. We were greeted by 3 different places and to say they were friendly was an understatement. Lol The waiter gave my son a fist bump at the table and joked with him throughout our visit. They bring out several side with your chips. Salsa, bean dip and I orders a small cheese dip. My son rated his Mexican restaurants on the quality of salsa and he said there's was great. He was definitely going to get the guys to make this their new go to Mexican place. My son had a giant burrito which I think was chorro polo and I had a seafood chimichanga.we finished with a churro donut sundae which our waiter said was his favorite. It was on special for only $4. My son and I usually like to try fried ice cream so we'll have to visit again to give that a try. read more

My brother and I happened upon Bronco Mexican Grill while looking for a spot that was open late. We went in around 930 and it wasn't busy but a few tables were pretty rambunctious so it was loud in there. It took us around 10 minutes for someone to seat us. The staff were really nice and attentive. Our table was pretty small so they pushed another one over so we would have more room for our smorgasbord - bean dip, sides of sour cream, my shrimp tacos, my brother's steak chimichanga, a shrimp quesadilla each, chips, white sauce, and salsa. The food came out fairly quick so we had a full spread to enjoy. I unfortunately was not super impressed. The bean dip tasted like the refried beans normally served on platters - though topped with melted cheese, it was missing something. My brother agreed. I liked the white sauce that they first brought out, though. The shrimp tacos were alright but they ended up being pretty soggy. The shrimp were a bit overcooked as well. I enjoyed my shrimp quesadilla, though, and kind of wish I just did 2 of those as my entree. My brother did enjoy his chimichanga and the rice it came with. It was a pretty hearty serving and came out piping hot. He liked the quesadilla as well. This place is a little more expensive than other Mexican spots and not really as tasty. But they are open late which is a plus... I'll just try different items if I come here again and maybe I'll change my review. read more

I never get excited to try New Mexican restaurants because they all taste the same to me. But this restaurant is near me so I cheated on my Go-To Mexican restaurant that I really like and tried this place out. Why I waited so long?! The food is yummy! For starters, the menu has a little more dishes than the ones I've seen. There's more seafood and vegetarian options. The salsa and the chips they give is spicy!! I mean heartburns but sooo good! Lol I'm trying new restaurants, I always go with the chicken fajitas first to test it out and it was very seasoned without being salty or greasy. The Mexican rice is good too. The beans and lettuce are the same per usual. There's outdoor seating with speakers playing music. Well found a new spot! read more

To start off this was probably one of the most crappy Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. Maybe second worst. I come in with my family. The red and white sauce are so bland. Restaurant doesn't look pretty on the inside either. Very run down like. Service was fine. Every Mexican restaurant has the same service. I got chicken fajitas and cheese dip for the table. I was the only one to eat the cheese dip. Woke up at 2 am with the worst food poisoning ever. The only other thing I ate was a few Fritos and a coffee. So had to have been food from here. I'm really not writing to complain about anything other than the fact that I got sick. They don't practice good food safety. Plz don't eat there. read more

Came for lunch after picking up my SIL's sister from the airport. I had just eaten when they decided to eat out on the way home, so I wasn't starving like everyone else. My SIL's sister loved going there every time she was in town since it had good options for vegetarians. -Chips and salsa. 4/5 -White sauce that came with chips. 2/5 -Queso. 4/5 -Jumbo skinny margarita with strawberry flavoring. This is what i had while I picked at everyone's food and ate chips, salsa and queso. 4/5 -Jumbo Texas margarita. Had an extra shot. 4/5 -Monster Texas margarita. Huge! 4/5 -Cosmo. Tasty but definitely not a cosmo. 3/5 -Bronco. Onions on the side. 4.25/5 -Kid's #2 one taco, rice and refried beans. My nephew LOVED the beans! 5/5 -Arroz con pollo. 3.75/5 -Veggie A. No complaints. Enchiladas and beans were amazing. 5/5 Only thing I had to complain about was the slippery flooring. That was annoying. Service was excellent. Would recommend, but it's not like California style Mexican food. read more

Bronco's is my current go-to Mexican restaurant. Sure, there are places closer to me and cheaper. But the food at Bronco's is GOOD and the staff is all really nice and friendly. They have lots of dishes that you can't find at typical places. The meat I get is always good quality. It's located at kempsville road and Volvo, right when you hit Chesapeake from VB. It's between Harris Teeter and Chicho's. It looks small from the outside, but it's big inside. I've eaten a lot of food here. I keep changing my favorite dish, I'll order a fave over and over, then change my mind. Right now I'm all over the shrimp tacos! They're so tasty and healthy, try it with the Diablo sauce (it's not spicy) instead of the chipotle. I've had the verde burrito, the chicken and pineapple dish. My old favorite are these tacos that have shrimp, steak, chicken, bacon, mushrooms, and peppers! They're amazing! My parents come here too now, and they enjoy it too (they're picky boomers who don't travel far from home). I've brought friends and made friends here. The drinks are pretty good, lots of variety for whatever you might want. It can get a little hectic during peak times, food can be slower to come out, they might forget something, the normal stuff that happens when it's busy. Staff will correct whatever you need. They're great there! read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant in 2018 and it wasn't good then. I posted a review on yelp that wasn't complimentary. Today, we thought to give it another try, this time for lunch. I got a chile relleno & taco. My wife got a burrito, taco and rice. The only item that was good was the fresh tortilla chips and 3 dips that came before our lunch. My chile relleno looked like a soggy diaper with no taste at all. I make better tacos at home than these. The taco shell tasted old. My wife's burrito had little taste. I think the frozen ones at the grocery store are better. Buy a frozen mexican dinner at the grocery store. It will be better. The plates came out hot to the touch so you know everything is frozen then microwaved. The service was good but there was only about 8 people in the restaurant for lunch. I wonder why? We will not go there ever again! read more

Nice people! Ofelia was sweet but to bad the chef in back didn't do well with our food. Sadly I was disappointed that Inordered the vegetarian fajitas which promised me I would have mushrooms and cauliflower, along with the bell peppers, onions, carrots, zucchini, brocolli and tomatoes. They brought my food to the table only for me to notice that they brought my dish without thr mushrooms and cauliflower. I told my server the issues and she went to the back and they said they will bring me a side of mushrooms and cauliflower. I was mortified to see how that they managed to serve me old and very strong smelling mushy, slimy mushrooms along with my cauliflower. I told my waitress about it but I don't thinks she fully understood and she took my food. The best thing had was the salsa and chips. My kids love avocado dip, although it was salty they scrapped the bowl. My husband and I left still hungry, and not impressed. read more

Staff is always welcoming when I come here to eat. Food is great along with the prices!

This was a good meal. We were seated immediately (party of 4) and the server came over right away. He highly recommended I try the Bronco dip, but I'm not too big on beans. I had the Carnitas Chimichanga and it was good. It had a lot of onions, so I picked through to eat more of the meat. The tortilla had a great taste too. I would visit again! read more

Gotta admit, this place was not on my radar until a nice couple told me about Bronco Mexican Grill Saturday afternoon so I went and checked this place out. And I gotta say, I really really enjoyed it. The place just felt alive! Nice crowd and a really helpful and energetic crew. The chips were hot and the salsa had a nice spicy flavor. The food came out quick and was hot and fresh. The taco salad was good size and flavorful. I enjoyed so much, after I was done, I ordered an extra soft shell taco which was really good too. I checked out other plates around me and everything looked really good. I'm assuming everyone else was enjoying theirs too because the place was getting even busier the longer we were there.
