Went there March 15 & got food poisoning from I'm sure the chicken not being cooked thoroughly. Everyone was ordering chicken salad or nachos. Place was packed. My chicken was in BIG clumps. Had to go to emergency room, started throwing up in middle of night & going both ends, nonstop. Husband couldn't drive me because I couldn't stop. I went here during a weekday lunch and it was not busy at all. There seemed to be a language barrier between my server and I. I ordered the pineapple coconut margarita and he brought me a pina colada (which was also on the menu) when I asked he said it was a margarita, but when I got my check it was a pina colada. I ordered chicken tacos, which were okay, just meat and a homemade corn tortilla and I ordered the carne Assad fries which were not appetizing. Food was average. Only provided one dip for chips. Received incorrect order. Server said I could keep it if I wanted and he would take the additional $ off the bill. When the bill arrived, the higher price was listed. He did remove it after it was pointed out. I think the problem last night was that there were so many takeout orders and drink orders being filled by the same people, they were overwhelmed. They need more help! The food and service was excellent!! They have pupusas, which is corn dough filed with cheese and a filing of your choice. I got the beans or frijoles...yummy!! I also had a chicken Gordita. The crunch was everything! The chicken was super flavorful. U like how they have the authentic sauces, 3 red and 2 green to accompany your dish. Beware, the reds are spicy. Agave Azul is a simply decorated joint but they pack a punch with their flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed the birria tacos and my friend enjoyed her crispy tacos as well! We had two rounds of margaritas too and both tasted great. The margaritas are a bit on the smaller side but the ratio of alcohol to fruit juice/liqueur is just perfect. Overall a fantastic meal with accommodating friendly staff! Highly recommend! One of my favorite spots.. Coming straight from Tijuana, This is really the only spot that can compare to TJ Tacos. The Red Sauce is amazing, but they don't offer Salsa Verde.. Only Avocado Sauce. Based on my first time, five stars indeed! My mother and I dined here after doing a quick Yelp search on restaurants nearby since we were in the area, and we were hungry. The restaurant was pretty empty when we walked in, but two parties of 2 were dining in. We were greeted immediately and sat in a booth near the window. I believe all the booths were aligned along the windows. The restaurant is well lit and it is clean inside. I love airy restaurants that don't smell and feel stale and this restaurant is a breath of fresh air. We looked over the menu and ordered our norm when visiting this style of restaurant. My mom - Texas fajitas, but it's called something else here and me tacos. I tired the Pastor one, chicken and ground beef. My mom enjoyed her food and I enjoyed my food. My favorite of the three was the Pastor taco! I am pretty simple so meat, cheese, lettuce and jalapeños topped with salsa makes me happy at Mexican restaurants. I had a regular margarita too and it was tasty! No flavoring needed for me. Not sure how authentic this place is, but it's great! I would definitely recommend you give them a try! We were down this way for a curiosity Faire at the conference center and after roaming around checking this at the conference center hubby got the hangry pains. I already knew he wanted Mexican so after a cursory Yelp search we found Agave Azul. Other reviews made it sound like a place to try out. Hubby had his go to of chori Pollo and I decided to go with chicken fajitas. Both of our chicken meals were tender and flavorful. Hubby is a man of few words so all I got out of him was "it was good." My dinner portion fajitas had so. Much. Chicken. I just wish there had been more veggies. All in all a great meal for $50. Hubby had a margarita, I had a Fanta orange and a Mango Jarrito, cheese dip and our entrees. The interior was clean, quiet and for a time, it was just him and I. I did not give them 5 stars because nobody refilled our chips and we paid for queso we did not get to eat. And the food took a very long time. We received our ordered on time via Grubhub and had a positive experience with their delivery service. Their Birria Queso Tacos were excellent, hot, crunchy, and juicy. Their tacos were good, not my favorite in the area but still very good quality. We enjoyed the Pupusas, which were very tasty and not as common to find. Their guacamole was very perfectly executed. Found my new favorite mexi spot in Chesapeake! Finally decided to check this place out bc I keep passing it whenever I get Pho 79 (!next door) Went for lunch on a Tuesday, not busy at all. Not your usual mexi restaurant, it's just one big room about 15 or so tables & they seem to have a bar area. This place is really casual, great spot for a quick lunch. Drink & food prices were fairly inexpensive. Our waitress was really sweet, attentive, she was just amazing. We ordered Al pastor tacos & the lunch chicken fajitas. everything was delicious, you really can't go wrong with fajitas or al pastor tacos. My favorite part would have to be the fresh corn tortillas,. If you're anything like me and are very picky about your tortillas you won't be disappointed with these! These don't fall apart as soon you take a bite. Or rip soon as you pick it up. The best tortillas IMO. They have their own parking lot & plenty of space. Definitely try this place out! read more

Great margaritas and even better food! Queso birria tacos are a personal favorite along with the carne asada tacos. I have heard great things about the menudo but I am not brave enough to try it. Everything on the menu is very tasty and made to order. All of their salsas are made in-house. The taste of the salsas is very homemade like abuela made them herself. Came here with a group of friends, one who is from Cali & recommended this place. LOVED the tacos!! Reminded me of legit Mexican tacos from Texas! Chops & salsa was fresh. Waitress would bring more chips but the salsa was very small & had to ask for refill. The sauces were great the spicy ones had the tight amount of kick!! Also gave the tiniest lime for 3 tacos. Tamale was good, it was thicker than the ones I'm use to but also had more meat inside. Would definitely get the tacos again. Maybe the tamales during winter season. read more

We were for takeout as I had the taco burrito and wife had the 3 tacos combo. It took about 9 minutes for my order to be ready as my wife added some fried plantain and drinks to our order. As soon as we got home we devoured it. The taco burrito was full of flavor and so was the rice and beans. Wife said the taco tasted authentic to her as we are from Cali and we missed great Mexican food back home but we now live here and we are adjusting, lol. Their food reminded me of Cali. Fried plantains was cooked perfectly. Everything was delicious and we will definitely come back here soon. Next time we will try their margarita. read more
