When I raised these discrepancies, staff insisted the order was correct rather than rectifying the miscommunication. I strongly advise double-checking your itemized receipt (if they give you one) before paying. Due to the unreliable pricing and unhelpful customer service, I will not be returning, being a customer since 2023 this is really disappointing!

The marinated and sauced up ribeye on the bulgogi fries was so friggin flavorful and the fries were oh so crispy. I don't want to talk about the burger, because if I do I might get emotional, GET THE BURGER smashed, burnt ends and still juicy topped with the bacon jam, the cheese, the fried onions no sauce needed it's perfect as is. I'm sorry I didn't take a photo of the burg, I was hungry, you'll have to trust it was very pretty to look at. The dumplings were the perfect side to contrast our fried heaven and the chili crisp was flavorful and electric. Anyways, can't wait to come back for bowls so we can hit up the rest of the menu.

Fries- were the crinkly ones salted nicely lol Customer Service- was the best!! Very friendly and kept you informed how much longer your food will be. I was also impressed by the operation. They had everything you would need displayed in the seating area. Sauces, utensils, napkins, to go containers, and bags. No need to awkwardly look for anything. Hard to get this far into a review without mentioning the outstanding food. It's some of the best BBQ I've had! We went with the professional platter and added burnt ends. I enjoyed each and every item but the standout to me was the brisket, I've never had a juicier more tender piece of brisket in my life! Ribs were done really well also, the burnt ends had tons of flavor, the sausage was delicious, and the pulled pork and chicken were winners as well. The fries were better than expected, the Mac and cheese was tasty, and the broccoli salad worked really well with all that meat! Truly a feast!

The shack we sat in was really hot since there was no AC, just a normal fan was blowing air. It was self service so we got the utensils, soda and water. They had ketchup, vinegar, mustard, bbq and white sauces available in the condiment area. Overall it was a decent spot but bbq meat fell short in taste for me.

Every time I see a "Philly Cheese Steak" menu item, I understand what u will get is not the cheesesteak I grew up on. That's okay. I'm not a die hard purist. I generally, however, don't order one. Hangry's, though, they had a Mexican Cheese Steak. That was .. interesting. I ordered one. Gentle reader, it was a really good steak sandwich. Great blend of flavors, cheese was creamy and yum. Truck staff were awesome, friendly and fun to talk with. They had quite a task feeding several hundred hungry warriors, mages, alchemists, bards and rogues. My only suggestion for improvement is one I make often with newcomers to the glory of the cheesesteak: you need a roll with good structure that absorbs the ingredients without falling apart. One with a serious crust and soft interior. Amorosos. Paganos. That kind. I would definitely order from their food truck again and I'd visit their restaurant next time I'm in the area.

Big Boss Burrito was the spot for our first meal in Norfolk, a group of six of us in town for a…read morecollege friend reunion, mostly out of towners trying the Norfolk food scene for the first time. Norfolk isn't known as a foodie destination, but based on this first restaurant, the food here is pretty good and worth a visit. My friend who lives in Norfolk recommended it, and it's in a lively commercial spot near where we stayed. Parking was easy in the lot, and even with no reservation, 6 people walking in on a Friday night, we got seated right away. There's a handwritten note on the menu saying chips and salsa is one complimentary basket per table, and since we split into two tables, we ended up with two, which worked out nicely. Good queso to me comes down to viscosity. The thinner it runs, the better, gloppy queso is no bueno. This one ran right off the chip like water, which is exactly what I want. We ordered it to share and demolished it within a few minutes. Most of my group ordered tacos, which come in a single meat type, three to an order. Everyone ordered a different meat type and then traded so each person ended up with one of each kind, a fun way to try more of the menu. The fish tacos were a highlight for them. I was the only one who went a different direction, getting the chicken fajitas, which I split with a friend since the portion was huge, sizzling hot, loaded with chicken, peppers, and onions. My one gripe is they only gave us three tortillas for that much meat, so the tortilla to filling ratio was off. We left extremely full, and pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the food was ($30-40 a person, even with each person having a drink). Service was fast and friendly the whole night, and paying at the end was quick too. Drink-wise, the Trash Can looked very intriguing with almost 5 different liquor options, but I ultimately played it safe with a Paloma. Two friends got margaritas, one of which came practically the size of my friend's head, others had beers. My only real complaint is the drinks run sweet. I thought the Paloma would be the least sweet option, but it was still quite sweet for my taste. The margarita friends also said their margaritas were oversalted, like the salt fell in instead of staying on the rim. Small gripes aside, this was a great spot and I'd absolutely go back next time I'm in Norfolk.

We received a basket of nice, warm tortilla chips--which I'll give them credit for--but ONE small bowl of salsa that was barely filled. We had to ask for the white sauce, and when we requested another basket of chips, we were surprised to notice on the menu that additional baskets came with an extra charge. After we FINALLY received our drinks--which were all waters--and three small shots, the more experienced waitress essentially disappeared, leaving us with the clearly new and inexperienced server. I have no problem with someone being new; everyone has to learn. But if you're training a new employee, they should have support. We never received water refills, and the overall attentiveness simply wasn't there. The atmosphere didn't help either. There were flies around the dining area, and remodeling was being done, which definitely took away from the experience. Then came the bill. I HATE FEELING LIKE I PAID SO MUCH FOR SO LITTLE ITS RHW WORSE FEELING I have absolutely no problem spending money to take my family out and enjoy a good meal. What bothered me was paying that bill and feeling like the only thing I was paying for was the opportunity to finally LEAVE. When the food is good but the service and atmosphere make you regret dining in, something is wrong. The food deserves credit--it really was good. But based on our overall experience, I couldn't recommend dining here. If I ever ordered from this restaurant again, it would probably be delivery or takeout. Good food shouldn't have to overcome bad service.

So, this is a preliminary review based on my experience at today's inaugural food truck rally here…read morein the Hampton Roads. For this, I'll be departing from my normal style of writing to write an educated and informal post in hopes that the truckers will read this and make amends for the next gathering. Before the actual review, I'd like to thank WHRO for graciously hosting the event. Onto the business end of the stick... I showed up at 1:40PM, an hour and forty minutes after the event started. When I got there I went in what appeared to be the shortest line, which was for Norfolk Ramen (NR). In line I asked the person in front of me how long they had been waiting and they said for 15 minutes so far and that there was a second line to wait in to get your food. Still I waited, and waited, and waited. 25 minutes later I heard that NR ran out of the item I was interested in. No bueno mi compadre. I decided to go for another line; this time it was Stuft. A friend of mine who had already gotten food from them said the wait was only around 35 min and the tacos were pretty decent. 25 minutes into this wait Stuft called the line off and said they had ran out of food. ¡Que verracos pasa! At this point I was pissed, so I left. I not only worked in the gourmet food truck circles, but have also visited the various circles across the country. My experience was horrible and I know that I am not alone because the two girls that were behind me also left the NR line to go to the line for Stuft. This is unacceptable. What it is reflective of is very poor preparation. Did anyone think to call the plethora of great trucks from the food truck rallies/farmers markets from around the country for expertise? Not only have they been doing this for a while, handle greater volume, have more expansive menus, and do it all with wait times in the range of 5 to 10 minutes. I already know the answer to the question is no. There are a lot of people kissing your collective arses at the moment, because the majority of them do not know any better which is a shame in itself. Excuses like you didn't know people were going to show, it's hard working in those trucks, etc. You saw the RSVPs on FB, you new of the collective noise in the HR area via the various media/online outlets, and it's cramped but there benefits to working in the truck as well. So, I guess I will be the critic in the crowd and call for results. If you want to successfully join the culinary movement sweeping across the States, then simply do better. Have enough food for the crowds, have enough staff to assist, and do the prep work necessary to punch down wait times. Why this isn't a one star review is because of the location (good), the idea (also good), and from what I saw of the food (it looked good). Suggestions for the venue organizers... Maybe have an on-site portable ATM and invite a craft beer truck. I'll update this review after attending the next rally.

Additionally the fries were also amazing. What was even more amazing was when a young 22 year old man greeted us at our table to ask how our food and service were. During our conversation we discovered this young man was the owner. What the would need is more people lime Henry running a successful business at 22 years old. All we could say was amazing. I sure hope some food critic reads this and goes into this business to see what a great place VA has right in their backyard and also how America allows young and old be successful through hard work. Loved the hand cut fries as well, great flavor and served piping hot just like the burger. First impression greeting was off the charts, genuine, warm and friendly service from the moment we walked in the door. Recommend and will come back when visiting the area again.
