I'm giving you 2 stars, not because of this review, but rather because a couple times I've had good experiences. Yesterday, you failed me, and deserve no stars.... Yesterday, I ordered a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. I was the only person in the drive thru and it still took me 15 minutes to get a sandwich. By the time I left, the drive-thru line was full. That wasn't even the worst part, the sandwich was.... as you can see, in the pic, my bacon and egg sandwich was really lacking on any resemblance of bacon or egg. If I had wanted a bread sandwich, I would have just ordered bread! It was probably microwave bacon at best, and the sandwich had a chemical taste to it. Food is good, but waaaay too expensive for what it is. The last few times I have went, they have been out of ingredients for the sandwich I get, out of soup, or sides. Tonight, they didn't have baguette or chips for a side, and they could only offer an apple. They didn't have the bread for my sandwich and had to substitute another kind. Val was working and showed me the screen ordering, made suggestions, was very friendly and I could tell she loved not just her job but people too! I was really looking forward to my steak sandwich but got home and found out instead I had something resembling a sandwich but was really poorly toasted bread with mac and cheese inside. We've been here just twice, but I am basing this review on my latest trip, as the first one was too long ago. I do remember from that first trip that I tried the Mac & Cheese and it was ok. Anyway, this review is for their breakfast. Went in around 8, it was pretty dead. They had lots of pastries, bagels and breads out that looked delicious. My friend and I both got the avocado, egg white and spinach sandwich, mine I added sausage ($1.10 tacked on). I also got a bottle of orange juice (11.5 ounces for $2.99, not worth it). Altogether we waited maybe 5 minutes for our food. During that time, the staff told us we could sample any of the six lemonades they had by the drink dispensers, which was very nice of them. After getting my sandwich and opening it, I realized there are some details missing from Panera's menu board. Apparently this particular sandwich comes with tomato and cheese on top, which was not on the menu. I don't like tomato and my friend doesn't like cheese on her food. So that was disappointing for both of us. Both sandwiches came with a couple slices of avocado, I would have liked more. My friend also ordered her maple sauce on the side, and it wasn't included at all. The flavor was fine, nothing special. I liked the bread. But it wasn't any amazing sandwich by any means. I'd like to go back to try other things, breakfast and otherwise. But so far, the flavor of Panera is just so-so while their offerings are diverse, if a bit expensive. read more

First, two bags of chips were missing from our order. Next, I had old, nasty, wilted arugula on my sandwich and the final straw was watching my husband in total disgust as he pulled a long hair out of his mouth after taking a bite of his sandwich. We both stopped eating, packed up everything and tried numerous times to call the Springfield Panera. After many failed attempts of dialing and hearing no ringing, I grabbed our food and drove to Springfield to return the food they had spoiled and complain to the manager. The happy middle between a full-service restaurant and fast food, Panera is a great solution for clean ingredients and comfort. My go-to is the "Pick 2". Half a sandwich and a bowl of soup is the food version of a hug from Mom. The sandwiches can occasionally be a bit sparse - the last time I ordered a chicken salad sandwich, the bread to filling proportions were off. That being said, the taste of both soup and sandwich was excellent. The staff is very courteous, often clearing your dishes, though this is not expected. The interior ambiance is nice - including a gas fireplace. Outdoor seating is available. Food arrives quickly, but there is often a wait to order. My visits, there has only been one register operator. Adding a second would improve the ordering experience. One last thing: Don't forget to add a pastry to your meal for only .99! I recommend the cinnamon crunch or orange scones. read more

Being that this is the only Panera in the area I understand it commonly being very busy but they still should be aware of the cleanliness of this dining room. As we ate we were basically grinding other people's food crumbs into the carpet with our feet. They changed from buzzers where you pick up your food at the window to numbers where they bring your food to your table. This would be great if they could figure out how to do it. They brought someone else's order to our table first and then realized that it wasn't ours took it away and brought it straight to the correct people. Then when our order came out it was not our full order. Eventually we got everything. The water glasses are a joke. I basically want to get a tray full of them just for me because each glass is about one sip. We enjoy going to Panera for all of the options but even when I order a pick two meal I'm never full. read more

Called in and person said she would put me through to manager. Waited ten minutes for manager to pick up. I gave up and called again- 8 times I called and no one picked up. The worst Panara Bread I've ever been to. Orders are often wrong (especially at the drive thru). I went back through the drive thru when they forgot an item. After waiting in the drive thru line for another 10-15 minutes, I was never given an apology. More than half the time they are out of bagels, which I mostly came here for. The last time I went here I was told they didn't have the right bread for my sandwich, which I was give an alternative. I was fine with that, but once I got to the window they said they didn't have bread to go with my fiancées soup and the baguette that goes with the sandwich. Why didn't you tell me you were out of mostly everything I was ordering? This was at 6pm... Incredibly bad management. Also, gone through Panera several times receiving half filled soups. I really love the manager, and the people who work here! The portions are too small, especailly their bowls of soup, and the food is too expensive! Panera Bread is good to try once or twice, as a meetup with friends, but I would try something else before I ever decided to go here, again. The food is... okay. It's pretty pricey in comparison to other places, but it is good enough to eat. I like their salads, since they're decently sized. But, the half-sandwiches just don't feel worth the money, especially when you consider that they don't seem to have just regular ole plain white or wheat bread. Everything seems to be all specialty-like. As someone with an eating disorder, who has trouble getting used to "new" things, it was hard to find something I could really eat without being iffy about it. Their desserts are delicious, though. I would recommend trying those while you're there. The staff is nice and willing to answer questions. The drink selection and seating is overall decent, too. It's a good place to eat sometimes, but definitely not my main choice. read more

Multiple wrong orders at this location at drive through. Make sure to check your food is right. Usually the people are really pleasant. Theres typically a couple of super nice outgoing guys that works the window. I made a specification to not put cheese on my salad and ordered a soup. Agains, today I had a wrong order happen. This was super annoying because I'm on a limited lunch break, got to my destination to eat, and saw I had Mac and cheese. The smell of cheese makes me nauseous. I drove all the way back, and on the intercom told her what happened. She goes monotone... sorry... we'll get you another one. I get to the counter and she stares at me without saying anything and hands me the bag. I go here's The mac and cheese. She goes oh no we cannot accept that. I love the food here, but they never have things in stock. Nearly every time I go something I want is unavailable. I tried to get a bowl of soup and a bagel last night and they let me get to the window before mentioning they didn't have the bagel or the baguette for my soup. I left without getting anything. Today I tried again and this time they didn't have soup. Are you kidding me? I really think they need either another location or they need to up production. I drive from across town each time and have left twice with nothing. I'm honestly not sure if I will return after repeatedly being disappointed by the availability of menu items. And again I go in, no bread available despite it being the title of the store. I don't complain often but lunch there yesterday but I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the 1/2 sand. It was Turkey and Bacon. First- For the good- the staff were very nice. My poor sandwich was rather sad. The turkey was so cold there was ice crystals in the turkey. The cheese was maybe 2"by 3" and had no taste. The bacon seemed like the microwave ready processed kind you find in cafeteria. Everything was just sad looking and no taste. I have never had any problem with the food at any Panera. It's fresher than most nationwide fast food (ish) restaurants, and they actually have some creative--and even healthy--options. The reason I have to give this particular Panera only three stars is this: well over a month ago, we ordered delivery via their website. We've ordered breakfast from them this way several times, and we love the convenience. This last time, unfortunately, they forgot one of the three items, and the receipt that they staple to the bag that has a place for the employees to check off each item in the bag had not been marked. This was annoying, but I understand, everybody is understaffed and overworked in the food service business right now. So I tried to call to let them know about the missing item so we would not be charged for it. The phone rang and rang and rang, and finally the line just cut off. Next, I tried to contact their corporate office. I was told that since this particular Panera is a franchise, corporate could not help me directly, but they would pass my message on to our Springfield Panera. I waited a few weeks, but never heard back. So again, I tried to call our local Panera. Same problem, no one ever answered. I have never been able to get through to them, and have never heard back from corporate or from them. In the grand scheme of things, the missing item cost us no more than $6.00. We can afford it. But the complete lack of both accountability as well as any way to actually get through to them is just not okay. Which is unfortunate; we were probably getting delivery from them about 3 times a month, getting take out another 2 times a month and always tipped very well. But now, I doubt we will every buy anything from them again. To the local management: answer the dang phone! read more

This location does not deserve one star !!!!! I went there through drive through last night 7/9/23 . I got up to the speaker to order sat there for a few minutes and a female got on the speaker said we are closed !!! I asked what time u close she said 9 :00 , I looked at my clock it said 9:00 .. I said so you can't take my order she said no we are closed . I said well I'm in line now she said you can wait in line and go through or u can back up , I asked her if there is a manger there she said she is the manager I asked her name she said it's Carissa !!!!! I backed all the way out trying not to hit my rims on the curvy drive thru ..... we went to Noodles and sitting there eating u can see the employees all congregating talking and one doing a dance !!!! Panera is this how you train your managers in customers service ? I would probably not have given this review even one star had out not been for Mindy the front cashier...she was the definition of hospitality, unfortunately that is where it ended. The restaurant was busy but numerous tables had not been waited which meant dirty tables. I went looking for a wait person and asked if a table could be cleaned at which point she walked me to the bucket where the towel was kept for cleaning tables. Thank goodness the water was at least clean and freshly poured. Which leads me to my question, if the bucket was still warm why hadn't anyone clean the tables? I ordered a avocado bacon turkey sandwich the bacon in sandwich was very cold... Had to take that off. Thank goodness the soup was warm. You really disappointed me Panera. When I eat out I want to be wowed by a meal I would not easily fix myself at home (and probably better than the restaurant) the chili lime salad is just, well it will sustain you but I would not rate it as good. The pungent greens dont complement the southwest flavors, and it is so dressed its almost soggy. On a rate 1-10 I would give it a 4. And way over priced for what it is. read more
