Never had a bad Panera experience... But, John is a liar. We asked for chicken noodle soup. He said they were out. We asked for a pizza. He said they were out of the pizza cheese. So my wife ordered a salad and daughter got a pizza with NO cheese. Little did John know, the couple behind us were in our party. Imagine our surprise when after we got our food, they got theirs... and what did they get? You guessed it, a nice big bowl of hearty chicken noodle soup and a delicious looking pizza, FULL OF CHEESE. I've always liked Panera. Was very disappointed in the experience last night. It was hard to find a cleaned off table, (no one in there) and it took ages for my pick 2 soup and half sandwich. They were out of bread(!) so offered potato chips with the soup! Worst was a very dirty bathroom, no soap or toilet paper and large wastebasket completely overflowing. We are so grateful to have a healthy dining option in our area. Staff always friendly and cheerful even when it is busy. We don't go as often as we used to since prices have skyrocketed recently but really like the food. The Warm Bowls are so yummy during the cold weather but generally end up going elsewhere more affordable. The fountain drinks and lemonade have a weird aftertaste and we ended our Sip Club because of it. Our nephew who works in the mall said something about it and then we started noticing it too. The atmosphere is pleasant other than the entry door being dirty and the garbage was overflowing last visit before our late night movie. The prices are not under the staff control but maybe it should be passed along to the people who make the decisions. I have noticed it seems slower business than before the price increases. Panera bread food tastes delicious. But it is not worth near the cost. I'd give them another star based on the taste alone but This isn't the first disappointment I've had here. I love the pastries (the cinnamon crunch scone is divine), and I used to eat the salads and soups often. The product started declining, and I changed my eating habits pretty drastically so now only occasionally indulge in a salad or soup there. I've been craving chicken soup lately and decided to grab a bowl. I don't remember the soups being $5.89 for a bowl, but paid it and left. Got to my desk, and had a small bowl filled less than 3/4 full, that was 90% broth. For nearly $10, I can make a huge pot of veggie filled chicken soup that is mostly organic and tastes better. I know you pay for convenience, but this was ridiculous. It was maybe two lengths of noodle, one chopped baby carrot, a little bit of chicken, and three slivers of celery, and a whole lot of chicken water. And it wasn't even hot. Photos show the soup when I took it from the bag, after drinking the broth with the contents spread out on the bottom, and with the contents gathered to one side. I have been to this Panera several times and I don't know why. The 2 Panera I frequented in California were awesome.....Everytime. But this Panera which is the only one close to where I live is a gamble everytime . Always different. 2 times out of 10 worth the high price. Different bread, different ingredients, wrong order, decent amount, practically nothing. Today was a joke. Bread a different kind then they say you get ( it seems to always be a surprise ) and it's 1/2 the size of what the advertise you will get, the meat inside cracker size for a full sandwich, and the side pickle is a hit or miss each time I feel like I should get at least a year of free sandwiches to make up for the money I've paid them for basically nothing in the last year. read more

Stopped in to grab an afternoon pick me up treat and utilize my free birthday gift that Panera places in your account. When I arrived there was one customer in front of me and they were full of questions. I decided to use the kiosk to make it easy and fast. 10 min later I'm waiting and no one is around. After my order was placed I waited by the pick-up area and saw my name on the board under "preparing", I waited and waited and nothing. The employee at the register was now gone, employees in the food prep area never turned around, I was like hello??? Then I noticed my name disappeared completely from the board. I walked to the register and no one there, I finally called out to the employees in the food prep and said I was waiting for my order. The employee said "I called you" and then said let's go get your item. So not only did I wait 15 min, it wasn't even ready and I got a little attitude, I'm pretty sure I would of heard them as I was standing right there and here I was trying to make it easy. We moved Monday coffee meetings to this location for the past few months and will be seeking a different location in the new year. The reasons are many. We choose to order with the person at the register instead of the lobby machine. This means, and this has happened several times, that if the phone rings, they have to answer it and leave you standing there - waiting to pay, waiting for coffee cups, or waiting on a pastry. The pastry selections have deteriorated over the past year as well. Since they stopped making/offering bear claws, baked selections are smothered, and I mean buried, in sugar. Big blobs of white sugar, so much that you can't even see the pastry. We opt for muffins, but if you want them heated up, you have to do it yourself in a teeny microwave that's located below your knees in the lobby - it's so close to the floor, that's it's impossible to know what the dial reads and whether you're heating it for 30 second or 30 minutes. . How hard would it be to put one in the back and have the counter people heat it up? It's also complicated by the fact that all items are served on huge plates that barely fit in the microwave. . About the coffee - it's always running out of one type or another. There used to be gauges on the machines that would tell when they are low, but they seem to have worn out or worn off, because we're always having to tell the front counter people that there is no coffee and have to wait while another pot is brewed up. And don't think about getting a latte unless you like a 60/40 foam to coffee ratio. I 've complained several times, to no avail, so I quit ordering them. And the oatmeal is advertised/menu listed as coming with Strawberries and pecans, but in the winter it comes with dried up apple strips - you might want to double check. We kept trying to like this place, but until things improve, we will not return. read more

Another great chain. We were so excited when they came to town. Although a bit on the expensive side, the food is always fresh. The soups are great on a cold Oregon day. The kids love the Mac and cheese or the grilled cheese sandwiches. The area is always clean and has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The servers are always kind and helpful. Stopped by for a quick bite today and couldn't believe how dirty the restaurant was. There were tables just waiting to be cleaned with dishes from the previous customers. There were wadded up napkins laying on the floor. The drink station was also filthy. I've eaten here about 6 months ago and it wasn't like this then. We decided to sit outside since the inside was so dirty, debating if we should cancel our order after seeing his dirty everything was. I stopped in this Panera Bread location while on a road trip due to my familiarity with the chain. This location was no exception to their usual consistent high quality standards. This particular location had spacious seating, the service was courteous and everything was neat and clean. The food is pretty consistent throughout the chain, and again this location was no exception. You can get a really nice healthy meal here for a reasonable price. My favorite is the "You Pick Two". Under this program you can choose any two different items from all the soups, sandwiches and salads. I find this much more enjoyable than just having one of these at a time. read more

Stopped by Saturday morning to get a baguette. The person behind the counter was very nice. The loaf of bread was not up to standard. It was over baked and over proofed and dry. Maybe if you had it with a bowl of soup it would be tolerable. But as it was, costing almost five dollars, it would have been better off being donated to a food bank, They should know how to bake a good loaf on bread. So far so good Panera..... I am a PBC regular from my days in SoCal. I was extremely excited when they opened up here. I used PBC on the regular in SoCal for catering. So much so that I already set up the vendor approval on their account with catering at the University of Oregon so we could use them. The service was fast through the drive thru (any delays could likely be attributed to the customers not the service)... Inside was also quick. Customer service at the register was prompt and easy. The menu has changed so the U Pick 2 is still on the menu it is just divided by item -- so strange... Anyway -- its all good. The bakery items are up front where you order upon walking in -- just like other Panera locations. I am used to Panera employees delivering my food to my table. That doesn't happen here . They gave me a pager and then when it went off I went to the expediting window and retrieved my own food -- WEIRD! The lemonade, Green Tea (which is the primary reason I go here so much) and fountain drinks, as well as coffee (both iced and hot) are all self service... you have to ask for a large cup if you want it. Asian Chicken Salad is just like I remember it -- the dressing on this though -- YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the toppings are a good portion and the salad is an ok portion. Broccoli Cheese and Chicken Noodle Soups -- fantastic my go to's for sure.. The Frontega Chicken Panini -- ummm the BEST!!! Just try it already. Mac and Cheese-- not Kraft (which I love) but you won't be dissappointed Asiago Cheese Bread/Bagel - out of this world Cinnamon Crunch Bagel -- AMAZING and one of their keystone dishes Orange Scone -- WOW so good... great flavor with zest in the topping glaze Not so sure about these new broth bowls -- I wanted one but $8.99 for a broth bowl of soup that wasn't even full ? By the time I got back to my hotel to feed 10 hungry volleyball players and realized the mess up, I called and they said they couldnt do anything about it as they were closing. It has been approximately a year since I've been to Panera Bread. I used to go frequently after the excitement of it opening and the continued great service until it suddenly dropped. The customer service became poor, the lack of attention from the drive through, and the management. Needless to say, I stopped going. I had tried ordering through grub hub to avoid merely going there and interacting with staff. That's how horrendous the staff were at the time! Grub Hub started charging more for delivery and ultimately, the food just wasn't worth the price plus the delivery fee. Now I know, Panera has their own delivery systems so that's neat, I won't be using it after today. Today I went through the drive through after approximately a year (like I said before). And I figured I was hungry, in the area, and needed something light to eat. In hindsight, I SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE! The drive through employee (2/23/2020 @ 1400 hours) was terrible! Sounded as if I was a nuisance because I asked for an apple instead of chips. I also explained I have Invisalign and therefore super sensitive teeth, if they could slice them that be awesome! She scoffs and ultimately tells me they can. I know it sounds odd like I have to eat like a child with sliced apples, but with sensitive teeth and fruit on my mind, darnit, I JUST WANTED AN APPLE. Long story short, apple was not sliced, my sandwich was beyond soggy, and I scoffed at again after I asked for a straw to be in accordance with the new law. I ordered a half turkey avocado BLT and the Broccoli Cheddar Soup. The sandwich was disgusting. They forgot the avocado, not that it would make any difference. It had three very small slivers of over cooked, dry chicken with two slices of cold, greasy bacon, that look like it was taken right out of the fridge and put on my sandwich. I couldn't even eat the sandwich. It was that bad. The soup was edible, but would've been better if it was warmed before that gave it to me. Good grief! I would not recommend eating here. read more

I decided to try Panera out because it has a drive-thru and I needed something quick and easy. The service was super friendly, and they are indeed quick! By the time I drove up to the window, took my drinks, and paid, they were already handing me the bag of food for three people! I was happy yet I'm suspicious of fast things, so I had pretty low expectations. Their Mac and Cheese is decent. It's on the salty side, but it isn't too bad for a fast food joint. I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich and it was more bread than anything. Hence the name Panera *Bread* not Panera *Sandwiches*. Still, I would expect more meat in a sandwich. I had to take off one of the peices of bread so that I could have a good meat to bread ratio. My daughter seemed to be pleased with the grilled cheese. Then again, she's three and she'll eat anything that is bread and cheese. In all, I highly doubt I'll ever be back. Yes, if a friend wanted to meet there, I'd be able to stomach the food, it's not like it's terrible or anything. It's just not my cup of tea. read more

Went in and no one was at the front. There are little kiosks you can order at but I wanted to make a substitution. So finally I find someone to come "help" me, who proceeded to be very rude. She charges me $0.79 to "substitute" gorgonzola for avocado on my salad, I've included a picture of just how much gorgonzola I was given. And I was not given any dressing. They gave me the wrong soup which I didn't notice until I tasted it at home and I am not feeling well enough not do I have the energy to drive back to get it fixed. I was told they were out of chips and given bread instead, which was haphazardly tossed into the to go bag? I don't even know. Then, as I'm picking up my order one of the workers asks the guy behind the counter to get him cups from the drive thru, WTH? I don't expect above and beyond from an employee who's employer likely provides the bare minimum. What pisses me off is the codes on the bathroom. It's obviously to keep out the "riff raff", which is fine. Can't blame them. But I know somewhere, the bean counters also factored that their customers would be less likely to use the restroom as a result, thereby reducing cleaning needs and increasing the bottom line ever so little. My sister brought Panera bread home for me and my mom. I immediately had gas and then followed by diarrhea. Come to find out so did my mom and my sister friend. We all had soup. Wow- I have been to many Panera breads, but this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. Dirty dishes on 80% of the tables, no one has come by to clean them and it's been over 10 minutes. My latte was lukewarm and my bacon on the egg dish I ordered was not warmed up. It still had congealed bacon fat on it. When I walked it back they said they would remake it, but instead they just put the dish into the microwave, which heated up the avocado that was on it and made it a greasy mess. I had to just ask for a refund and leave... the manager said sorry and gave me the refund, but never asked what they could have done better... read more
