Cafe Agora is one of my favorite places to eat, they are in regular rotation, consistently delicious, polite/fun/conversational and so I thought there was no room for improvement. But last night, my dasher kept pushing my delivery time later and later so Cafe Agora reached out and asked if I felt comfortable with one of their employees delivering instead. My wife and I stopped by for lunch twice during our stay in Eugene. The Cafe Agora team were polite and our food was ready in about 10 minutes each time. Cafe Agora throws down some of the best Mediterranean food. Their food is well seasoned and a "healthier" option than some heavier offerings in Eugene, which was perfect for a pre-Eugene Marathon carb load. The plaza has ample seating and a relaxed vibe. I've been to both locations, this one and the newest location in Springfield. The food is worth the price. They have juicy succulent lamb on rotation. I ate a gyro that was stuffed. We were roadtripping to California and decided to stop at Cafe Agora food truck in Eugene. The service was amazing! The owner was so friendly and enthusiastic. The food also tasted so good we loved the combination of flavors and there was plenty of food for one person. Absolutely terrible, went for lunch with my girlfriend. Got the "wrap" and it was disgusting. Seemed like they were advertising the "wrap" as a shawarma. Not even close to what shawarma is. Tiny portions for way too much money. Complete rip off. I wouldn't waste your time. Unless they do a complete reboot of the menu you won't us back there any time soon. read more

Both were good and satisfied my craving but were not the best I've had. The fries look like they could be hand-cut with the skin on. There was a decent amount of meat in the sandwich. Ok so I'm always sad to see that Eugene's Mediterranean restaurants don't have a good mezze platter. Well, I just asked if they can make me one. And they were super nice and willing!!! If you love Mediterranean food and Mediterranean flavors than you are going to LOVE Cafe Agora. I ordered their falafel over jasmine rice with a side of baba ghanoush. Everything was tasty. The falafels were tasty and not at all dry. The jasmine rice was rich and the baba ghanoush was to die for. Even the sauteed onions and the accompanied tomato slice were delicious. I ate those onions and I NEVER eat onions. Their menu is very easy to navigate and to order from. First your choose the style in which you want your meal (over rice, in a pita sandwich, etc). I really like Mediterranean food so I thought I would try this place and decided to take the whole family out. We got 3 chicken wraps with a rice and 2 with hummus. The wraps were just okay. The hummus was okay as well. The rice was bland and lacked flavor. The most disappointing thing was the portion size was not worth the $12 price tag, we still felt hungry and a bit annoyed by that. A food cart gem located at 8th and Olive. Hours are centered around lunch and the simple menu is arranged to make sampling all the offerings an easy task. Think carb, protein and veg. The Greek Fries are a nice treat. My favs are the Kebab, Rice Pilaf and Baba Ganoush. read more

cafe agora is the BEST place in eugene by far. top tier customer service from all staff especially mike, who is always beyond kind and friendly. he always has a smile on his face and welcomes us by name, going out his way to be extremely kind to me and my friend. the food is the best greek food in eugene, i usually get the lamb plate with humus and salad, it is incomparable to any other greek place i've been to in eugene. the portions are huge for the price, the plate is abt $14 and it's $4 extra for a side. i usually take home leftovers as well and they taste just as good as before. cafe agora is a 11/10 and i seriously recommend this to everyone! read more

Cafe Agora - Falafel Saj Wrap and dolmas - Greek Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

Nope. The service was fantastic; the guy at the window was pleasant, handsome, and kind. The food is horrible. I ordered chicken over rice, a side of dolma and a side of hummus. The chicken which I assumed because this would be the usual for a Greek or Middle Eastern joint, and becasue of the photo on the menu board would be a kabob of white meat chicken. The menu stated marinated white meat chicken. Well. Yuck. The kabob I was dreaming of as I stood in the hot-hot black top ambience of still humid-heat among a pod of closed food trucks... (This and the rainbow truck were the only ones open), turned out to be shockingly: a sparse toss of crumbles of spiced chicken. The (so-called) chicken so caked in something that it was yellowish green with red specks and tasted of dry crumbly something...and super salty. SOOOooo yuck. The hummus had a good deep tahini flavor: the whole 2 1/2 inch square portion of it. Unfortunately, it was also sprinkled with green chicken bits and drizzled over in osme kind of white-ish sauce...? Why? The dolas - two of them as a side order - were excessively sour. They were also drizzed in white sauce and crumbles of - not chicken but, feta cheese! Noooooooo! the rice was okay, kinda... Nothing special, and too salty and a hint of sour in it. The bottom line is, a meal largely consisting of rice and chick peas - for the most part inedible - with some throw away chicken sprinkled on top shoudn't cost $17. I won't give them another try. read more

Where do I start.... I will start by saying the food is good. However, supporting this business after my last experience feels morally wrong. While waiting for my food, there was an altercation that made me uncomfortable to say the least. You can hear the main guy, who has told me before that he is the owner of the food truck, screaming at his employees, cussing, and making disturbing intimidating comments to them. I can only imagine what employees have to say about their experience working here... I genuinely worry about the quality of the environment inside that food truck. I've had gyros from various places, and this one ranks up there near the top - the lamb was perfectly seasoned with a slight smokiness, and they didn't skimp on the meat, just the right ratio of meat to vegetables. Everything tasted fresh and tightly wrapped so you could eat it from the wrapper without it falling apart.
