We made a special trip to B Heavenly to participate in The Eugene Vegan Chef Challenge…read more(https://veganchefchallenge.org/eugene/). We have eaten here before and really liked it. We don't get down to that part of town often, but we plan to in the future. We had the Fried Tofu Sandwich: Breaded, seasoned tofu served on a toasted pretzel bun with vegan Dijon ranch, pickles, and shredded lettuce and a side of house chips. AND Crispy Avocado Burger: Breaded avocado fried to a crisp, served on a toasted sesame bun with vegan dill ranch and microgreens and house chips. Both were excellent and we would get them again. With all of this said, in addition to the location challenges (parking downtown, etc.), their hours usually don't work for us (they are only open M-F for lunch), being open at least one weekend day would get us there more often, but oh well. It also looks like their website domain has lapsed so they no longer have a website, so Yelp has become their website by default.

But last night, my dasher kept pushing my delivery time later and later so Cafe Agora reached out and asked if I felt comfortable with one of their employees delivering instead. I ordered a combo plate with the chicken over salad (instead of rice) and a side of baba ganoush that came with some pita pieces. The food was good, the baba ganoush was probably the best item out of my meal. It had a real nice smoky flavor. What caught me off guard was the chicken. It had curry seasoning. Not the regular mediterrean curry taste, but kinda like the red curry seasoning you buy at Trader Joe's taste. It was not expected, but I ended up accepting it and finished my meal because I was hungry. Price point was a bit higher to what the portion and quality of my meal was worth. But given the fact that it's one of the few places open on a federal holiday, there's no real other options to this type of cuisine here in Eugene, and costs of owning a business in a food truck, I get it. I'll try again and get the gyro next time. Will update then.

It was chilly, so we waited inside of the public house building in the middle of all the food trucks. The building had a welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted by a friendly bartender at the bar, there are high ceilings, and dim lighting with natural light coming from the large windows. Music was playing, but wasn't too loud. Seemed like a nice spot to work from home. There were a few people who had their laptops plugged in at the tables. The crunch wraps were warm when they arrived, but still crunchy on the outside. I ordered my chicken crunch wrap extra spicy and it had a good amount of heat. The vegan crunch wrap was equally filling and flavorful. The marsala fries were a let down; they were the regular fries with a little drizzle of sauce and black sesame sprinkled on top. I wouldn't pay extra to order it again since it tasted just like the regular fries. We ordered the natural root beer in the public house which tasted refreshing and much better than the canned stuff you get at the grocery store. It paired well with the rich, creamy crunch wraps. Would come again!
