I honestly thought I was eating steak. I ordered the chupe de camarones (shrimp chowder soup). I cannot stress enough how big this bowl of soup is. They do not skimp on the shrimp! It's probably one of the best chupes I've ever had. I ended up taking a large container of it home. Likewise, my partner ordered the chaufa mixto (Peruvian fried rice with chicken, steak, and shrimp). Always ask for the green sauce, absolutely delicious! Just like with my soup, he also had plenty of leftovers. To wash it all down, we ordered chicha (a purple corn drink), which was so good. This place is known for its rotisserie chicken, so we ordered a half chicken to go for the following day. I understand why it's everyone's go-to here, juicy and flavorful. We kicked off our meal with the "Trio Causa," a traditional layered potato dish seasoned with ají amarillo and lime, filled with chicken, tuna, and seafood, topped with pickled onions. It was super yummy! For the main course, we had the Arroz Chaufa, a seafood stir-fry rice dish that stole the show. This dish is loaded with seafood- crab, large shrimp, mussels, and calamari, enough to easily share among 2-3 people. We also tried the Lomo Saltado, and wow! The sauce was incredible, and the steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender.
