Family loves the subs here. They are very reasonably priced, much better than the competing places in the area. They are huge too. A large can feed 2 people for lunch. Only complaint is that a little on the salty side Note that the prices for ordering through Yelp are a few dollars higher than at the store read more

Hershey's Subs and Deli - Sandwiches Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

As always subs are built right and delicious. Now with the extra bonus of getting to see all the "influencers" standing in the train station parking lot taking pictures of themselves leaving pop up bagels. So lunch and sad show read more

Only had their tuna salad hero with lettuce & tomato & its second to none! Whenever I'm in the area near lunchtime I get one for my husband & I. Btw the people serving are very nice. read more

Stopped in on a whim to find a classic old school divey jersey sub shop. The grilled closes an hour before the close the shop so we got a full size sub that was enough for two. #30 Loaded with freshly sliced Turkey, salami and American cheese. I got light mayo so I can image what regular looks like. Tons of drinks and chips to go with you selection. Staff was talking amongst themselves when we arrived didn't care to stop. Not a deal breaker, food was still good. You'll find plenty of seating in this whole in the wall in case you didn't want to take out. read more

Hershey's Subs and Deli - Spicy chips - Sandwiches Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

I was searching thru YELP for a place in Cranford/Garwood area to get subs /sandwiches. I decided on Hershey's ..to be honest..b/c the prices were WAY more reasonable (and yes, reviews were very good!) OMG THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Sooo happy I researched various places and chose this one! I've never tasted such FRESH bread from ANY other delis around. We got 2 cheesesteaks...!! The large could be for 2 people...(I got 1/2 and STILL couldn't finish!) It was Sooo good! The place is big...lots of selections and the staff is so friendly. There are lots of tables to sit at, as well. Next time you want a sandwich & can't decide where? YOU NEED TO GO TO HERSHEY'S. A whole cheesesteak is $13 verses OTHER places that charge $20 !!!! That's insane...would never pay $20 for just a cheesesteak. So thank you, Hershey's for not taking advantage of your customers!!! read more

Been going here for years. Same staff has been there all this time. They are friendly and make a great sandwich no matter which one you choose. They also make burgers. After 10 AM you can park across street in commuter lot. read more

Having owned a deli myself I see so much potential in this place. Sandwiches were good, but the place seems old and not very well maintained. Ice cream freezers were used for storage of frozen nuggets, fries, etc... open for anyone to take or touch, three dishes in the display that had salads, floors were stained with dirt from the past 20years plus, no one acknowledged me when I walked in or even seemed the slightest bit happy to be there. A customer who sounded to be a regular came in with a smile said hi to what seemed to be the owner and he didn't even respond with anything but "hey" read more

Hershey's has always had great sandwiches. I used to go there in the 80s and just started going back again and it's still great. Sloppy Joe's are one of the best. read more

Picked up some subs for lunch. Parking on the street or at the train station across the street. Meat is fresh and tastes good. Bread is typical deli bread chewy and tough. read more

Though the Hershey's name suggests a store full of candy or ice cream, you'll find none of those sweets here. Instead you can grab yourself a delicious sub sandwich from one of the OG establishments of Westfield. So far I've only tried the Italian sandwich, but I was very happy about the taste and freshness of the bread. This place uses a soft sandwich bun, less like the harder, crunchier shells found in Italian delis. Also worth noting that I called ahead to save some time, and the order was ready when I got there only ten minutes later. Great to have a place that can turn around a sub quickly! read more

My update to five stars is long overdue, as I've eaten hundreds of subs from Hershey's since they opened in 1968. When a food shop is famous for one item, and they've been making it the same way for half a century, you know they've perfected it. #17 ($12) is provelone, boiled ham, pepperoni, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, olive oil & red wine vinegar, and a touch of dried oregano on an Italian loaf. They make this to order in about 60 sec. This is real fast food. This Westfield staple has a history, and the grunge to prove it. The owner, who worked here as a high school kid, has certainly been in it for the long haul. He's now providing part time jobs for the next generation, as well as doing a lot of philanthropic work for the community. read more

Hershey's Subs and Deli - whole 17 - Sandwiches Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

Walking in, I was immediately reminded of the no-frills bagels store/deli where I (as a teen) would get an everything bagel with cream cheese, washed down with a Snapple. Then to my 20's when I would find the delis in Brooklyn (Sonny's, Graham Ave) that served up HUGE portions of fresh custom subs. Having moved away and slowed down the metabolism, I was overwhelmed by the portions and nostalgia as I ordered, and carried home what is more like a torpedo than a sub. Delicious! Service is fine, the assembly line design done well. I want to order off the old specials board, just because. So you may not hang out here, or get linen tablecloths on your table, but their sandwiches hit the spot every time. read more

Ehh, had a Turkey sandwich. The "Rye" bread was very white bread ish. Nothing special. The taste was bland.

Have strong nostalgic memories of this place from when I grew up in Westfield. Coming back, definitely solid but not something I'd go out of my way for. Turkey with cheddar - 3/5. Crispy bread, decent helping of turkey and cheese. There is a memorable oil, salt, pepper flavor. But it just all comes together feeling like a homemade Mozzarella sticks - 2/5. Generous cheese but also felt stale. Marinara sauce pretty basic. Fries - 2/5. Nice flavor but stale. We picked them up before the estimated pick-up time and ate immediately. read more

Omg - an old haunt of mine - lived in town and it was always my place for delicious subs...just stopped by with my wife and the decor hadn't changed since 1968 - filthy environment, dusty shelves and the floor hasn't been cleaned or waxed. The tables were dirty and the seats were sticky...it's sad being in business for 53 years and the current owners don't take pride in their establishment- only to prepare food and make the cash register RING. This place desperately needs an overhaul....they lost me! read more

Over priced, barely any meat on sandwich, paid almost 20 bucks for a sandwich with more cheese than meat.

Have been a longtime customer for over twenty years. Terrific subs and our kids love the chicken tenders. Great local business that's been part of our community for a long time! read more

Simply the best deli in town. The food is as great as the people are nice. From sub in a tub salad options to great sandwiches this is always a great option. read more

Hershey's Subs and Deli - Sub in a rub is a yummy salad option!!! - Sandwiches Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

I walked into this nice deli located in a very nice area for some breakfast with my friend. The people were friendly but the food was not up to the standards. They did not have strawberry milk, which is weird for a deli since they should have all types of milk. I opted in for the chocolate milk which tasted a little funny. I then ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel which was so dry I had to buy a water to quench my thirst. I will not be returning back read more

One star, only for the small town atmosphere. Zero stars for the food. Eat here as a kid and had fond memories, returned multiple times when in Westfield for work and had the opposite experience. Deli sandwiches are average, the meat did not taste great and the bread was lackluster. Returned for another try and ordered a simple grilled cheese. I guess the effort is not in this deli anymore as the 1/4 pound cheese sandwich with toast was a pitiful excuse for even a grilled cheese. Go elsewhere, tradition does not equal quality. read more

Hershey's Subs and Deli - a person holding a sandwich - Sandwiches Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

First time trying.. I grew up near Morristown and remember Longfellows and Long John's sub shops. Really old school since the 60s. Hadn't found the same kind of place since moving and was really pleased to find this place. They make a great old school sub and that's enough. The right bread. Good cold cuts. Generous portions. Reasonable pricing. Just the right amount of oil and vinegar. This place deserves customers. I'll be back. read more

Well, I'm not sure who to blame here but it must go on the wall of shame. A place with a great reputation, failed miserably with my sandwich. I'm unsure if it was doordash but I'm blaming Hershey's bc on the menu it indicates Lettuce tomato onion, all condiments are all on there. Yet I got sandwich with just mayo, as I requested to "add mayo" to the sandwich. A good business, would reach out and confirm that order. read more

Hershey's Subs and Deli - #3 that was supposed to come with condiments on it but came plain. - Sandwiches Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

Hershey's has the best subs around. It's a no frills deli that you can always count on.

This is a five star deli that I have to bump down because they forgot the oil and vinegar on what would've been an otherwise perfect roast beef and swiss sub. Fresh cut meats, shredded Iceberg, all of the stuff I love. Except the oil and vinegar. Still, I'm coming back here every time I'm in Westfield from now until I die. read more

I have been ordering here for years because my office is just around the corner. They have some of the best subs in Westfield . I have never had a bad combo sub here ever and they even have some hot sandwiches if you are looking. Hot pastrami on Rye and the Tuna Melt on Rye are my favorites. The owners definitely know the regulars and makes small talk with them when it's not too crazy which is nice . The staff have that sandwich making down to a science . They do get super busy around lunch but they wait isn't bad at all. You can always call in the order ahead of time which I definitely recommend when you have a big order. So if you are looking for a good sub , sloppy Joe or even a hot breakfast sandwich this is your spot read more

Best subs! I always come when I'm in town. Sloppy Joe's and cheesesteaks and Italian subs are all my absolute favorite.

The buffalo wings are legit great. I came for the Trinidad sandwich recently rated one of the best in Nj. It was amazing, but the wings stole the show. read more

One of my favorite places to get a quick bite. Hands down the best subs in town. Sandwiches are packed with variety of meat and very tasty. read more

I went with the "super" Italian sub, and it was just ok. The cheese was super mild, and the meats didn't have a strong flavor. I asked for oil and vinegar, and the sandwich was soaked. That said, the veg was fresh and the bread was soft but tasty. I went to get a bag of chips and my flavor was on a "shelf" on the ground. A bag in the back was open... hopefully not by something small and furry. This place looks old and a bit run down on the inside. Overall, decent sandwich but not worth a drive if you are not local. read more

Great place for a breakfast sandwich, with excellent service and an old school feel. Got a sausage egg and cheese, and they didn't skimp on the ingredients like some places tend to do. This is my go to breakfast sandwich spot, and they're always very nice. Parking isn't too bad if you come during non peak hours. read more

Hershey's Subs and Deli - Roast Beef and Turkey with lettuce, tomato, light oil & vinegar and a side of Russian Dressing! - Sandwiches Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

Best deli sandwiches in Westfield. Great menu board with numbered sandwich combination selections. They also have a nice assortment of ice cream deserts in the freezer below where you order. Great for takeout. Parking is horrible. Some times I park in the train station parking lot and cross the street. Service is atrocious. The younger folks that work there have a case of the mumbles and are miserable. I have not seen anyone smile there in the 3 years I have been going there. The owners/managers are OK I guess. Just all seemed ticked off whenever you walk in to place an order. read more

This place is ok for their flat grill foods like hot dogs, cheeseburgers and cheesesteaks. Their deli meats are atrocious just like Jersey Mike's there is nothing redeemable about their cold cut sandwiches. Onion rings were freezer burned and the cold cut sandwiches have an abominable mushiness to them like they had been soaking in oily water. I find it amusing, the Kohler deli meat brand that they use must be made by the same company that manufactures sinks and toilets because that's what it tasted like. The best sandwich shop in Westfield is across the street and its called Manhattan Bagel - bar none. If you are used to your cold cut sandwiches having Boar's head products you will be disappointed with this place with certainty. Besides their hot breakfast sandwiches and hot sandwich specials, I would not visit here ever. People have been making this place out to be the last bastion of sandwiches or something. There's a reason why places die or close down. No inordinate amount of nostalgia can keep a place open forever or maybe not since people in NJ will obviously eat food from a trough and think its excellent. Don't forget the lettuce and sandwich fixings that were all over the floor and not swept up. The interior is kitschy but so are Gumby dolls, I don't see anyone stand online to chew on a rubber Gumby doll.... read more

the greatest sandwich place in the world. whenever i'm visiting my family, there is a hershey's trip. i don't know why it tastes so good, but i think it has something to do with their amazing sub rolls, and their very thinly sliced meats and cheeses. my favorite? a trinidad: turkey, roastbeef, swiss, lettuce, tomato, russian. get a pickle to share. read more

Hershey's Subs and Deli - line forms here - Sandwiches Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

I moved in right around the corner from here and I'm obsessed with their subs. It's like subway on steroids. My favorite is the Aruba and get a garlic pickle at the end too! I do wish some of their employees would be more interactive and cheerful. The people near the refrigerators are super nice and smile-y, but the people in near the front have been crabby 9 out of 10 times. It's not my fault that crazy high school kids fill the restaurant, you should be happy you're making money off of them. read more

A massive deli sandwich at a reasonable price. I could eat here every week. Meats and cheeses are really fresh and the bread has almost a sweet taste. Love it. I live in Hoboken, so I'm surrounded by great delis. However, if you're in Westfield, Hershey's is the best. read more

I'm always looking for something tastey to eat after getting off the train when visiting Westfield. Decided to try Hershey's instead of other surrounding eats, and boy, I'm sure glad I did!!! Super delicious meatball parm hero. One of the best ever! And its old school jersey inside - which I personally love... reminds me of the shore. Anyway, can't wait for my next visit to grab one sandwich to eat there and another to go!! Bravo Hershey's, bravo ;-) read more
