So I went twice to try this place out because the 1st time I went it didn't go as well as I expected but I took into consideration that it looked like they were short staffed and they were getting crushed with orders. Even though my food was good except my salad I decided to give them another chance. So I went another day and they met my expectations. I ordered 3 pizzas all 3 customized. Everything went well and was executed as requested. The flavor of the pizzas with garlic butter drizzle is just delicious I definitely recommend you trying this place out I see how popular it is with the Kean students. Funny fact: I thought they were missing a part of their sign when they 1st opened cause it's just "&Pizza." I wanted to know WHAT & Pizza, LOL! Medium to large venue across from Kean University. It's in an extremely busy lot which has many other food options. Parking is annoying cause it's always crowded. Service was fast & friendly, almost bubbly. I recently went here for their $7 mix and match promotion which they offer on Mondays and Tuesdays. You can get a one topping one drizzle pizza and a pair of side Caesar salads for $7 each. The pizza is usually $12 without the discount. Their flatbread style pizza is very filling and for $7 it's a steal. I ordered a pizza with fresh mozzarella, spicy tomato sauce, chicken, and basil pesto finish. It came out well prepared with fresh ingredients and was super tasty. The only downside is that the service can be hit or miss. There is no dedicated pickup area so people with online orders are standing around several minutes with no one attending to them. They said my pizza got stuck in the oven and they had to make a new one which took an extra 30 minutes to make. Luckily they comped me with a free pizza on my next visit. &pizza, I've missed you! We were in the area on our first interstate trip with the family - including a toddler who is allergic to wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, avocado, pineapple, and kiwi. As a family, we are allium free vegetarians and my husband and I first discovered this chain with their oblong pizzas maybe 10 years ago in DC and I am pleased to report that they have not changed their tomato sauce since... still allium free! It's so hard to find a pizza place that offers tomato sauce we can have without going to a fancy pizzeria. The first thing we did after we landed and left the airport was head here. It's located close to Kean University and I noticed most all of the other patrons were likely college students. And the employees. It's located in a shopping center with a shared parking lot. The place itself was... a little unkempt? I didn't really see anyone dine in but everyone did take out. We luckily came in before the next flush of customers so I could ask a bunch of questions. No problems but just made sure the employee knew one had to be made with gluten free crust. I was actually impressed! He made the GF pizza first and everything else, then rushed to get it first with new gloves so it wouldn't touch the others. My two kids got cheese pizzas, only one was gluten free. My husband and I got the "craft your own". They really don't skimp on the ingredients, which I loved and they do take their time to really spread out the ingredients evenly. If you're a cheese lover, you won't need to request for extra cheese. We also got a fountain drink and... let's just say the sodas are SUPER carbonated. My favorite was the berry ginger lemonade... with no bubbles. The ingredients themselves seemed a little limited (not as much of a selection as some other chains with similar a concept I've been to since) and the quality wasn't great at this location (they had basil that was mostly brown) but we were hungry. And they were delicious once they came out! And my toddler had no adverse reactions to his food which is always a win. The guy who helped us was nice though slightly distracted (turns out a girl was waiting for him to get off work), but not obviously so. The people in the shift after him weren't all that professional. But I guess the place worked for the area. Overall, a good place to go to when in the area for a custom pizza. This is one of our new favorite pizza places. We typically create our own pizzas. I get mine with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon topped with parmesan cheese and their garlic butter. The garlic knots are what we really come for though. They are so good and top with their garlic butter---which is amazing. Do yourself a favor and get extra. Came twice to location. 1st visit - was told pizza would be delivered 20 minutes after app said it would be ready at 8:11. 2nd visit - came back after 20 minutes. Pizza still wasn't ready. Being vegan & craving pizza is not a pretty sight as not many locations have good quality pizza. This location is one of the best in vegan pizza options! Their vegan garlic knots are also amazing!! The location is always clean & the staff is very hard working. In reading previous reviews. I see that many either lack patience or do not understand how &Pizza works & the fact that the dough is literally made in house & needs a set setting time to be ready. Every time I have been there I have been alerted on whether or not wait times were long & I have opted to wait every single time because it is worth it. Charles, is one of the best at the location & is patient all the while working hard & making sure things are done efficiently & in the best timely manner possible. I always buy their pizza but lately they've gotten pricier and changed their rewards system so now it's harder to get a good deal on a pizza. The pizzas are also very small for the price so that's also not great. My tipping point for writing this review was the service. The picture shows that the crew member closed the top on one of the vegan knots and it was spilling out from the sides. When I brought this to his attention after I got my fingers dirty trying to put the knot back in, the guy replied with, "it's fine" and asked with an attitude to put it in a new box. I had the regular dough with lots of toppings and the cherry on top for me is goat cheese and honey! Having warm honey on pizza is just delicious! This location is on a college campus but easy to find as it's in a shopping center. Parking can be a little tight but it's private parking. Customer service can be better. A customers reception when they enter a place is so important so I hope they work on that. If you check out the page of the Virtual Elite Yelp Event held for this location you'll see my initial thoughts on this new addition to Union, NJ. In short, &pizza is a chain that seeks to offer fair businesses practices while delivering pizza in a modern setting. This location is based on a brand new strip mall development that is meant to go with the new luxury housing across the street. The result? The place looks very modern with lots of silver and black colors offering a bold visual contrast. LCD screens line the area above the counter that runs the length of the restaurant. The place is very welcoming with its clean, bright and modern design. When you enter &pizza, you walk all the way to the back which is the "beginning" of the ordering experience. There, you order from a menu that includes pre-configured pies or you can select your ingredients one by one to "assemble" your own pie. The style of pie is different than most pizza shops. No circles or squares here. These are oval shaped, with layers of ingredients added on to order. The crust is thin, chewy and tasty and I have enjoyed every pie I have tried so far. Among my favorites is their version of the "Meat lover's" style pizza known as the "Maverick". They layer on the pepperoni and sausage layers nicely and I never feel like they're going cheap on the ingredients. As a treat, I recommend getting the garlic knots. They are not the traditional, thick and doughy. Instead, they are made of the same dough as the pizza crust and they are in a long twisted shape. On top of cheese and a garlic oil, I recommend adding the balsamic reduction for an extra burst of flavor! The staff at &pizza is very nice about answering questions and they are super friendly as well! If you're nearby I definitely recommend checking out this great new pizza shop! read more

I only gave it 4 stars because one of my pizzas was wrong. Which is only 1 big cookie not like it's advertised being 4. I think the menu online should at least specify these things. The garlic knots was very soft, big and really good. The marinara sauce that comes with it tasted watery. It's like when you making spaghetti at home and you add just a lil water to the bottle to get the rest out. Soda the sweet root beer which was tasty. Overall I should give it a 2 but regardless of it being missing items on my pizza and added other things it was pretty decent. I won't put it in my top 5 pizza spots but it's ok. They really need to specify on the cookie situation and just because it's a flat bread pizza the 4 ends of the pizza should have cheese on it not just bread. This is chain store pizza place so if you had one it seems like you had them all (not on the level of the big two tho) so don't look for the KABLAM of excellent taste but not to take from it the pie was good. During my visit, I experience good customer service; an employee is very patient helping me navigate Vegan options (especially considering I ask about so many ingredients--I'm grateful). Dining in, I feel as though &pizza is an establishment that needs to be in a higher space like a large fancy building with a lot of employee traffic from other businesses--not on the ground. The interior design is so futuristic it feels like a living pre-concept, I'll find no surprise if the establishment has furniture that recharges electronic devices (or does more) soon. Additionally, I don't have a child/children yet though I have no problem sighting anything for children like baby seats and/or the changing area in the unisex restroom(s).
