And somehow this is my 1st review of this place, but I've been coming here since they opened. Funny fact: I thought they were missing a part of their sign when they 1st opened cause it's just "&Pizza." I wanted to know WHAT & Pizza, LOL! Medium to large venue across from Kean University. It's in an extremely busy lot which has many other food options. Parking is annoying cause it's always crowded. Service was fast & friendly, almost bubbly. The young Woman who served us was super sweet. Interior is bright and clean looking. Pizza is always amazing. I've tried a few of the pizzas from their menu at this point, & some of the promo pizzas they've had along the way, not a bad one yet. I have legit never had a bad pizza from them. Today I had 'The Maverick,' which is my go-to. Grades: Maverick: A++

&pizza, I've missed you! We were in the area on our first interstate trip with the family - including a toddler who is allergic to wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, avocado, pineapple, and kiwi. As a family, we are allium free vegetarians and my husband and I first discovered this chain with their oblong pizzas maybe 10 years ago in DC and I am pleased to report that they have not changed their tomato sauce since... still allium free! It's so hard to find a pizza place that offers tomato sauce we can have without going to a fancy pizzeria. The first thing we did after we landed and left the airport was head here. It's located close to Kean University and I noticed most all of the other patrons were likely college students. And the employees. It's located in a shopping center with a shared parking lot. The place itself was... a little unkempt? I didn't really see anyone dine in but everyone did take out. We luckily came in before the next flush of customers so I could ask a bunch of questions. No problems but just made sure the employee knew one had to be made with gluten free crust. I was actually impressed! He made the GF pizza first and everything else, then rushed to get it first with new gloves so it wouldn't touch the others. My two kids got cheese pizzas, only one was gluten free. My husband and I got the "craft your own". They really don't skimp on the ingredients, which I loved and they do take their time to really spread out the ingredients evenly. If you're a cheese lover, you won't need to request for extra cheese. We also got a fountain drink and... let's just say the sodas are SUPER carbonated. My favorite was the berry ginger lemonade... with no bubbles. The ingredients themselves seemed a little limited (not as much of a selection as some other chains with similar a concept I've been to since) and the quality wasn't great at this location (they had basil that was mostly brown) but we were hungry. And they were delicious once they came out! And my toddler had no adverse reactions to his food which is always a win. The guy who helped us was nice though slightly distracted (turns out a girl was waiting for him to get off work), but not obviously so. The people in the shift after him weren't all that professional. But I guess the place worked for the area. Overall, a good place to go to when in the area for a custom pizza. Don't expect great service and... I'll reserve my final conclusions on their ingredients after a second visit.

Always enjoy my visit here. Quality food in a very clean and safe area. Ingredients are usually fresh, so I have no complaints.

I recently visited &pizza in Union, NJ and was tried their cinnaknots and was pleasantly surprised by the resemblance to Beignets that I had in NOLA except this one was better. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, comes with a side of white sugary sauce. Highly recommend!

Located across the street from Kean University, &Pizza is a good option for a quick bite in-between classes. I built my own "pie" (and I use quotation marks since it's not a round pizza). I requested the vegan mozzarella and just wasn't the biggest fan. I've had vegan mozzarella before and it wasn't also goey or rubbery as this one. This place has tons of options for toppings so highly recommend playing around each time you come. And don't worry... you don't have to worry if your pizza won't be cooked enough or if it'll be cooked too much... &Pizza always gets it r Don't forget to sign up with your phone to get rewards every time you order. ** BIG PLUS: &Pizza offers Gluten Free dough and Vegan Mozzarella **

Visited this restaurant for lunch break because this eatery have vegan options on the menu. I ordered the vegan personal pizza pie and added multiple veggies on top . I also ordered the vegan garlic knots and my meal came to $22. My meal was very average. The seasoning they put on the pizza after it comes out the oven is extremely salty!!!! Also I did not like that the pizza goes inside a electrical oven instead of a brick The service was also really slow. It took 25 mins just to receive my order! And the place wasn't even crowded ..

Unreliable service. Ordered tonight at 7:30 and finally picked up pizza at 9:05. Came twice to location. 1st visit - was told pizza would be delivered 20 minutes after app said it would be ready at 8:11. 2nd visit - came back after 20 minutes. Pizza still wasn't ready. Asked staff member multiple times and didn't receive a follow through. Showed the app stating my pizza was ready. Finally after another 30 minutes the staff person looked and saw my pizza was ready. Needless to say won't be coming back as there as there are far better options that provide baseline customer service paired with a quality product.

I ordered the American Honey. It was a good combination of savory and sweet. I really enjoyed the flavors and the quality. You have the option of picking a pizza of their menu or creating their own. The space was nice and clean. I would return.

I always buy their pizza but lately they've gotten pricier and changed their rewards system so now it's harder to get a good deal on a pizza. The pizzas are also very small for the price so that's also not great. My tipping point for writing this review was the service. The picture shows that the crew member closed the top on one of the vegan knots and it was spilling out from the sides. When I brought this to his attention after I got my fingers dirty trying to put the knot back in, the guy replied with, "it's fine" and asked with an attitude to put it in a new box. After that interaction I just decided to leave but they have a continuous issue with providing good service and constantly have an attitude.

&pizza opens a new branch in Union, NJ! I've never heard of the brand before, so we came with an open mind. We decided to go all out and order each pie and canned drink to share our recommendations with you! PIZZA New G - The simplest of pies with good tomato and cheese, but our basil was burnt and black. "White" - Not our favorite. Tasted more of an alfredo sauce for a pasta base if anything. Lacked the truffle ranch flavor. American Honey - WOULD RECOMMEND! Great spice, but could've used more hot honey! Luckily we had more at home to drizzle over. The goat cheese, pepperoni, arugula and red pepper flakes really elevated the flavors of this pizza! Maverick - It was a good "meat lovers" style pie, but we were missing the basil pesto that probably would have freshened the flavor. Dirty Bird - It seemed like a lot of the advertised ingredients weren't on this pie? No red pepper flakes or spicy tomato. The blue cheese and chicken complimented each other well though. Buffalo 66 - Another one of our recommendations! The spiciest pie; great kick! Would definitely recommend the garlic knots! Super soft and great garlic flavor! DRINKS Recommend: Ginger Berry Lemonade, Razz Berry Mint Lemonade, Mango Passionfruit Soda Meh: Blood Orange Jasmine, Sweet Root Beer, Moody Meyer Lemon Black Tea, Dark Cherry Cola Now is &pizza actually a pizza? It was debatable, but we felt like it was more of a flatbread with toppings. American Honey and Buffalo 66 are definitely pies to try if you swing by!

    Ask the Community - &pizza - Union

Is this really vegetarian friendly or is the pepperoni made from real meat?

All our dough is vegan and we also offer vegan sauce and cheese options as well. Although our pepperonis are made from real meat, we do offer vegan sausage as a plant based alternative.

    Is this restaurant byob?

It's more fast food, so I don't think they would allow byob

We ordered cauliflower wings and one empanada as apps and a kid's chkn tenders along with a bakon burger (sub chkn) for our mains. It took 28 minutes before we saw any food. The cauliflower wings were large and def made with fresh cauliflower (with that familiar raw crunch). The batter was raw inside- my guess is the oil temp was high so the outside cooked fast but left a lot of mush inside. The empanada was okay, very light on the filling. Another 19 minutes go by before the kid's chikn tenders come out. Apparently the cook is new and messed up on the bakon burger forgetting to sub the chkn so had to wait yet another 7 minutes for that. Chkn tenders were pretty much the gardein seven grain product and the kiddo seemed to be pleased. The bakon burger, when it finally arrived was a huge disappointment. The bottom bun was dry and hard. It would clank when I tapped it against the plate. There were a few drops of mayo in the middle leaving the entire sandwich dry with a cold slice of cheese- no attempts at melting. I did provide this feedback to our server, who was polite and even went to the back potentially to see if an accommodation could be made. However, none were made and we walked away knowing this was a one and done restaurant.

The decor is cute- kind of a botanical theme, I loved the green velvet chairs. We came around opening time but the place was freezing. The waiter that was there mentioned the heater has been broken for awhile, he did get us a space heater which helped take the edge off but it was a freezing windy day so those of us a little further from the heater remained quite chilled. Pros- -Hands down the selection of juices were my favorite part. It's so hard to find Tamarind and Soursop juices outside of major cities. -The mofonguitos were delicious, lots of flavor and texture, I shared with my group and everyone really enjoyed it. The meat was not missed and I was pleasantly surprised the quinoa worked so well here. -My son didn't seem to notice or mind that the chick'n tenders weren't really the chicken he is used to -Many options that you cannot always easily find when looking for vegan cuisine Cons- -It's the type of place where it's unclear what is supposed to occur, does the waiter come to you or do you order at the front desk (same for paying, we ended up going up there in the end to pay)? There is a refrigerator of drinks that is customer facing and in the dining room so we grabbed some drinks while we waited for the waiter to come take our order, but when he came he seemed confused as to why we got our own drinks. I hate when places are confusing like this, I think it's meant to feel relaxed but it does the opposite and makes me anxious and uncomfortable. - I wasn't asked nor given sauce for the cauliflower wings. By the time we were checked on it was too late to ask because most of them were eaten. It's a shame because they had a nice crispy outside and probably would have been really tasty with sauce. -my rice and beans were surprisingly bland and didn't seem worth the money as I could have similar at home or for less. Overall I'm glad this place is here and with a few minor tweaks it really could be great.

It was a risk, because you know how vegetarians can get about cheese (I'm vegan now. When I used to be vegetarian, I'd get annoyed if a meal didn't have cheese in it, or if it had vegan cheese. I've noticed that a lot of my currently vegetarian friends are the same.) , but I figured that he would be cool about it, because he knew that there wasn't much else in the area that I could eat that had a/c. I love my city, but the restaurants need to get their a/c game in order. This is a slightly elevated burger joint. The options are meant to be on the healthier side, so they do stuff like sweet potato fries or a side salad with the burgers instead of potato fries. Here's my tip: get the salad. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much flavour they can pack into a small but mighty green salad with some dressing on the side. It'll mean that you can avoid eating sweet potatoes (unless you like sweet potato, in which case, you're at the right place). That said, the side salad was excellent. Crisp greens, and a few bonus veg, with a creamy tasting dressing. No complaints, 5 stars. My friend got the black bean burger, and I got the chickpea burger. We got the burgers exactly a said on the menu with no customisation. This was a very VERY good choice. The chefs at Brick City Vegan know what they're doing, and they absolutely season the heck out of the food. Everything tasted so good, and the table fell silent as we demolished the food in front of us in the cool a/c. There was a napkin dispenser on the table, which you will need, because the burgers are generously sauced, and a bit of a mess to eat. Who cares? The food is incredible, and just the right amount of filling. Both of us ate every last morsel, and left feeling satisfied. For both of our burgers, I think it was less than $30 grand total after taxes. Not the cheapest meal, but certainly not at all expensive by vegan standards.

We stopped by Four Monkeys on a busy Friday night, and the place was packed, always a promising sign. Even with the crowd, parking wasn't an issue at all; Lot 3 is right nearby and there's plenty of street parking, which made getting in and out painless. Inside, the restaurant is on the smaller side, but they've managed to fit in a surprising number of tables without making it feel cramped. The lighting is dim and moody in a way that works well for the space, and the subtle monkey-themed decor is genuinely charming- playful but tasteful. Menus are all via QR code, and even the cutlery feels upgraded and fancy, adding a nice touch. Service was a highlight. The staff is friendly, helpful, and refreshingly honest as they guided us through the menu, prevented us from over-ordering, and offered thoughtful recommendations. For water, they give you options: tap, sparkling, or still. What we ordered: * Pili Mirch Paneer Tikka (appetizer) * Bandar Butter Chicken * Homestyle Bhuna Chicken * Garlic Naan (pro tip: the naans are huge, one is easily enough for two people) The paneer app was really solid, think paneer tikka with a definite kick, paired with some tasty dipping sauce, chutney, and even grilled pineapple. A fun combo and definitely one of the stronger dishes. The mains, though, both the butter chicken and homestyle bhuna chicken, leaned very much on the milder side. The sauces were more liquidy than expected, and they felt geared toward diners who prefer Indian food without the heat. With slightly less gravy and a bit more spice, both dishes could've been standouts. The garlic naan was fine, though more firm than the soft, melt-in-your-mouth style I usually prefer. Overall, I'd say Four Monkeys is a good try and a nice addition to Summit, but probably not my go-to Indian spot for the food alone. That said, the ambiance is great, the staff is wonderful, and it's worth a visit, especially if you're into milder Indian flavors or want a cozy, lively night out.
