It's a hit or miss with them. Sometimes I get good food, and sometimes I get mediocre food. I did notice the woman who works there doesn't season the pizza. I notice that when I order from the guy there, the pizza is more seasoned. read more

As a regular customer, I was very disappointed today (2/6/2026) in the fact that Comet Pizzeria would serve me pizza that seemed left on the corner too long, overcooked, toasted and tasted like burnt cheese on toast, When I returned it, their attitudes were terrible and they treated me with such disregard. In most cases when a customer is dissatisfied , you expect the owner/proprietor to be apologetic but instead they treated me as if it was my fault. After years of being run by the same family, Comet has new ownership. The service was good. I asked if the recipe for the pizza changed or the ingredients, they said no, but you could taste and see the difference in the pizza. The new owners redesigned the restaurant and it is a more modern look. read more

Quite possibly the best pizza I have ever tasted... well let's be honest it was the best. Not being from this coast I've heard tales of how the pizza on the east coast is better and obviously this place stands up to the hype of the pizza. The bathroom needs to be talked about specifically because it was immaculate and tidy and smelled so nice. I went to wash my hands before I ate and was so impressed on how clean it was. The dining room was cute and super clean too it was next to the place where you order so don't be fooled when you walk in I don't know why they had the other room but maybe it was for to go orders but it doesn't matter I sat down and they brought all the stuff to eat to me. One down side for me though I would have liked a soda machine like the ones that pour into the cup not the bottles, not a major thing but it would have made that feeling of being in a real pizza place like when I was a kid come back. We don't have those places anymore they used to be everywhere. But hey like I said GO EAT HERE! It was delicious and to the owner or people if you read this know I took my leftover pizza home with me on a 7 hour trip back to the west coast. Ate here this past weekend with my family and we all really enjoyed it! The dining room is beautifully done and the food was exceptional. I had the chicken Marsala which was delicious. Their pizza is good, but I come here for the chicken parmigiana it is soooo good, and the portion is huge. I've been coming here for 10 years and this is the only place I come to for the above meal. It's summertime and too hot to be turning an oven on, so Comet's is my place for baked ziti or chicken parm. read more

I wanted to like it, but their pizza is really not very good at all. Undercooked, slimy, full of moisture. Cheese that falls off the crust all at once if tilted at even a slight angle. Decently flavorful sauce is about the only positive. Reading all the praise here, either I came on an off night or you people really need to eat better pizza. read more

Had a long layover in Newark so found this place close to the airport and made a quick stop. Had the Caprese Salad, large Pep / Sausage pizza and bottle of Merlot. The salad was good, very fresh basil. Pizza was really tastey. We live in So Cal so it was nice to finally get some good pizza. Crust is bit thicker in the middle (no flop) but still light enough to put away a few slices and the outer crust has a nice crunch. Good balance of ingredients, nothing overpowering the other. We took our leftovers to the airport which came in very handy because our flight was further delayed. Pizza was just as tastey after sitting for a few hours! Only complaint is that it is HOT in the restaurant. A/C was on but it was still very hot. We asked the lady to turn it down but owner locked the thermostat. We ordered a bottle of Merlot and it was in the fridge, which actually was nice a refreshing. Very friendly service. Would have done 5 stars if it was cooler inside. read more

First time ordering shrimp scampi and pasta. Wouldn't recommend the scampi, too much sauce, the shrimp was over cooked and flavorless. But the rest of our order was fine. read more

Good pizza and the owners are very nice. They do have a small alcohol selection which is a plus. The one thing I don't like is no credit cards. Sometimes I don't have cash on me and I don't feel like going to the liquor store to hit the ATM. Those are the days the miss out on a customer. read more

This pizzeria use to be the place where I always went to grab a bite after school. Since then it's been my first time coming back. I have to say I am honestly disappointed. Pizza is not the same as it use to. First of all the quality of the ingredients is not to par as before (10 years ago). I also got overcharged for the pizza , ($2 more) , not to mention it's now "cash only". The person charging me was also skeptical that we only got a (bottled) drink, (mind you I always carry a bottle of water in my purse) . Truly disappointed, I do not plan on coming back.
