Margharita Pizza
Dean S.

Onions and peppers on cheesesteak pizza were raw. The margarita pizza looked like an english muffin pizza with hardly any cheese. I used to go here in High School back in the day and it was good. It's a disgrace to NJ pizza!

So many options!

I've been going to Mama's for a long time now. (Every once in a while; I have to watch my figure!) They have a great selection of "gourmet" pizzas with various toppings and such. I enjoyed their buffalo chicken pizza, the white cheese and broccoli slice, bruschetta, tortellini, as well as their plain slices. Not super greasy either. Yummy, yummy, good stuff!

Wish I can get it this way every single time.

Mama's pizza, Their pies are pretty average, and greasy. But the specialty pizza's (buffalo chicken, vegetarian, bacon and chicken etc etc) are good. Almost like a NY pizza, ON A GOOD DAY. The consistency of mama's is terrible. One day I'll get a large slice, a lot of chicken, next day small slice less chicken but same price. Then the whole minimum of 6 garlic knots ordeal, when one of their garlic knots equals to about 2. I never need 6, but I understand It's just a way to nickel and dime. Then I'm charged for the marinara. It's really not that serious, but the pizza is good and it's close by so convenience wins.

I was so eager to eat it I forgot to take a before photo

Amazing pizza. Always extremely fresh and delicious. A bit pricey but that's what you get for high quality stuff.

Worst. Cheesesteak. Ever. The meat should have been thrown away, it was rancid. This place is gross.

Such good pizza. I love it - there's the perfect amount of cheese and sauce, and a good crust. Staff is slightly unfriendly.

I always love trying something off their seasonal pizza menu; during my most recent visit, I loved their maple bacon pizza, which had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. They don't accept reservations, so expect it to be pretty busy, especially during the weekends. Note that they also only have a limited cold food menu during the off hour between lunch and dinner.

Still easily my favorite pizza in NJ, no contest. Since moving to the new location, Artie's is…read morebetter than ever!! The restaurant itself is spacious and has an inviting atmosphere. Love going in the warmer weather when they open up the doors and have the bar serving on the patio. And let's face it, if you know anything about Arite's you know that there will always be a wait on the weekends. Having the bar and the patio makes waiting a breeze! The food is seriously better than ever. I actually think the pizza is even better at this new spot than the previous location. The sleeper favorite for me is the maple bacon pizza. Takes the white pie to another level and has become a go to for me. Always, I repeat always, order the meatballs and save the sauce for your pizza crust. The farmers salad is always a must for me as well. No one does a salad like Artie's. Give this place a shot because trust me, you won't be disappointed.

It's a Sicilian square style pizza with crust that is crispy and light. The Garbage Pie had everything on it - sausage, jalapeños, onions, and who knows what.. but it was amazing! It's VERY EASY to miss, no jazzy sign or anything --- I just followed my Google Maps to a T. This business serves up awesome sicilian square pizzas (NOT DETROIT). I arrived at about 6:15pm, and much of their pizzas were already sold out. Luckily, I got to try a few items --- the white pizza, the pepperoni pizza, and their famous garlic *NOT. The employee was super helping in explaining what was in the white pizza (you guessed it...lot of mozzarella and ricotta --- but also: a touch of LEMON!), so I got that....and it was super delicious. This type of pizza can only be eaten HOT. The dish is automatically elevated once it touches the heat of the oven. Pepperoni is pepperoni....but lets talk about THAT CRUST on these pizzas. It must be sourdough --- that's my guess. There's a lightness to the crunch that normal sicilian slices do not have. Owner, am I right? Now --- onto that Garlic NOT. What in the layered, buttery hell is this? This is a glutton's dream. I was peeling this NOT like it was a biscuit with layers. It is decadent --- and bigger than a Costco cupcake. But it's only available here --- so you do you, boo. Get it. All in all, very satisfied!

The owner was friendly as soon as we walked in and told us it would be about 8 minutes for the pizza- super fast! I would be surprised if he even crossed the minute mark before it was in the oven. Great conversation with the owner while we waited, and learned he had a spot near Asbury Park before moving here and opening this location. They do some cool things like "2 foot slices" (for those days you only want a slice lol). Countless specialty pies if you are in the mood for unique offerings. A large cheese pie is less than what you would pay at a chain- that's a huge win win- support local! After getting our hot pizza, my wife and I knew 2 bites in that we would be coming back. Great flavor on the sauce and quality cheese. They cook their pies half in the pan and half on the stone and the crust is almost airy with just the right amount of crunch at the end. We loved talking to Joe about his fav spots in NJ and NY- and he is a pretty humble owner that gives flowers to the spots that he thinks are doing it right. Will definitely be back! Pro tip: Don't be embarrassed when Joe asks if you need a box for leftovers and you realize there are no leftovers!
