We saw a video, last night, showing how they make their humongous "garlic nots" & we showed up today to try them....they are friggin amazing! Don't get me wrong, the pizza is 5 stars on it's own BUT I have never even imagined that a garlic knot could be so huge, fluffy & packed full of garlicky goodness. The pizza crust is light, flavorful & perfectly crispy on the edges & the bottom. The sauce & cheese are perfection. This place was hopping at 5pm on a Tuesday & rightfully so. The staff is friendly & efficient & the atmosphere & vibe of the place is awesome. It is a MUST TRY place so take the drive there & make sure you come hungry! read more

This is GOOD pizza. I appreciate the fact that they offer individual slices as I'm traveling alone and don't need to feed the family with an entire 8 slice large pie. The crunch on the bottom is very tasty. They triple bake their pizzas for an unbelievable crunch factor. I wanted to try their spicy house made sauce but they wanted to charge almost $3 for it (and it was served in the tiniest possible cup) so I didn't get it. Also, I can tell they use seed oils on their crust. Otherwise, it would be a 5 star for me! read more

After watching a video story on Corner Slice and seeing the impressive Garlic Knot and the amount of work that they put into it I really wanted to try it, but it's over an hour from us. I knew that wasn't going to happen. I noticed it wasn't too far from where our son-in-law works and I mentioned it to him and he very graciously picked up both pies and some garlic knots and saved us a slice each and some garlic knots. We did not get to try them till today which was a week later so they were in the freezer to be fair, we did reheat them everything was good the Buffalo was our favorite of the two pizzas but the "Garlic Not" was very good. We did add our own sauce which complimented it very well. You can see the difference from when he picked up the pizzas fresh compared to how I reheated it, so I can't imagine how much better these would have been then. Very happy and appreciative for him that he got it so we were able to try it because I sure as shit wasn't going to go get it. If you're in the area you got to stop by. read more

The best garlic knots I've ever had! Came here with a group of 6, and we ordered 6 slices: 4 pepperoni, 1 garbage (meat and veggie), and white slice. The pizza is inspired by NY Sicilian style. We also ordered 3 garlic knots, which are served warm with warm marinara sauce. The pizza was good, but the garlic knots are the star of the show and are worth the visit The space is small, with an even smaller parking lot. There's also outdoor seating. read more

Very good pizza. Nice location with great choices. Crust is impressive especially for Sicilian style slices. Garlic knots look sick. Service was friendly and cool vibe to the venue. read more

Finally made it to Corner Slice! Been wanting to visit this spot for a while, and finally got a round. It's VERY EASY to miss, no jazzy sign or anything --- I just followed my Google Maps to a T. This business serves up awesome sicilian square pizzas (NOT DETROIT). I arrived at about 6:15pm, and much of their pizzas were already sold out. Luckily, I got to try a few items --- the white pizza, the pepperoni pizza, and their famous garlic *NOT. The employee was super helping in explaining what was in the white pizza (you guessed it...lot of mozzarella and ricotta --- but also: a touch of LEMON!), so I got that....and it was super delicious. This type of pizza can only be eaten HOT. The dish is automatically elevated once it touches the heat of the oven. Pepperoni is pepperoni....but lets talk about THAT CRUST on these pizzas. It must be sourdough --- that's my guess. There's a lightness to the crunch that normal sicilian slices do not have. Owner, am I right? Now --- onto that Garlic NOT. What in the layered, buttery hell is this? This is a glutton's dream. I was peeling this NOT like it was a biscuit with layers. It is decadent --- and bigger than a Costco cupcake. But it's only available here --- so you do you, boo. Get it. All in all, very satisfied! read more

Delicious!! Tiny joint in Maplewood that's known for slices, but we ended up getting a full Garbage Pie and we're really pleased with our choice! It's a Sicilian square style pizza with crust that is crispy and light. The Garbage Pie had everything on it - sausage, jalapeños, onions, and who knows what.. but it was amazing! Probably serves 3 people, but with just two of us.. looking forward to leftovers tomorrow! We ordered takeout, and they texted when the order was ready; no need to wonder if it's done. read more

Solid square slice. I had the Buffalo, pepperoni and cheese slice. Great taste, nice and airy - bring from NY I would prefer a little extra sauce but theirs have just enough. Chilled location and ambiance and the staff is friendly. Definitely a go to if you are in area - I recommend. 4 stars read more

What's not to love here? Ever since they opened they have only gotten better and better. Pizza is incredible, sandwich Wednesday is a bonus, as is t the crumb cake and other bakery items they surprise you with. There are events there that are fun and the staff is always friendly read more

Im gonna update this and add that the gluten free slice is absolutely AMAZING. I genuinely didn't believe it was gluten free because it was that good. The crust was PERFECT, not crunchy or charred which seems to be the signature for the pizzerias. Again, I recognize it's a preference thing so I will definitely ease up. The garlic knot was way better this time too even though it was so good before. It wasn't dropping in grease nor burnt. So lessons here are, don't go before it's closed and eat the gluten free pie lol Original review: So I definitely want to try this place again because we got there late in the evening so they only had two types of pizza and the staff was doing their best but they were rushing. We had a pepperoni pizza and plain slice with the garlic knot. The crust was CRUNCHY and slightly "charred". When I look at pictures, I see that seems to be the vibe but it's just not my thing. I don't feel like I can enjoy a charred crust- I like crispy, not crouton. But honestly, at the end of the day it boils down to preference. Also, the sauce had no flavor for me. It gave school cafeteria and I really hated that for me. The garlic knots were amazing and that's why I'm giving this a 3. That was also burned but even with the burn, the flavor and texture were perfect. I definitely will go back on a less busy day in the hopes that I can change this review but for now, it is what it is. read more

I mistakenly decided to walk 20 mins in the semi-wrong direction to enjoy this experience. Although I struggled getting my baby stroller through the door, I was not disappointed. The pizza was delicious. I've been wanting to try this joint since they opened, but their information got lost in a sea of shared IG reels. Luckily I was in the mood for expanding my pizza choices for the day and BAM found them. I ordered 3 different slices to enjoy with my little one. All three tasted amazing with good sauce: cheese ratio and "thin-ish" crispy pan pie crust (not too thick). I took off one star because my crust was a bit too evenly crispy/ crunchy. I prefer a softer bite with crunch at the bottom, but overall I enjoyed the rectangle slices. Reminded me of my days working in the City. Trendy little space... super chill with pizza parlor standard service setup. Excited to visit soon/frequently. read more

Tried this place because the Upside Down was rated the #1 slice in NJ. (I wouldn't call it that, but solid slice) Overall good slice, very fresh ingredients and soft, but crunchy crust. The few times I have been the staff has always been friendly and the place has been clean. read more

We actually left another venue and weren't quite full so we came here. A great local pizza spot feel, the staff were immediately fun and friendly. They make you feel like a "regular" right off the bat. Everyone in there was happy and enjoying the food, the whole experience was a vibe. Parking is terrible, but worth it. The place smells amazing from all of the pizza and other dishes. A worth it stop! Grades: Pepperoni: A Margarita: A Buffalo: B Vodka: A read more

3.5 Stars. This was our final stop on our NY/NJ pizza tour. We got here super late, right before they were about to close (Thanks, NY Traffic near the Holland Tunnel!) When we arrived there were limited options since it was so late. I went with a cheese slice and a garlic knot. Had a root beer to drink. Total was close to $20.00. How was it? Cheese Slice- Pretty tasty. Light, airy, crunchy, good cheese. Solid square slice. I ate so much pizza during the day, I probably didn't appreciate it as much as I could have, but still a good slice. Garlic Knot- These things are massive! They also cost a lot too ($9.00 for one knot). It was good, but not $9.00 good. Lots of garlic, peel apart like a pinwheel kind of. Tasty enough. Service was friendly enough. I would come back if in the area to try out different slices. read more

The pizza is light, airy, with a buttery tasting crust. The slices are on the smaller side given their higher price. We had the upside down Sicilian, Reg cheese slice, white slice, and their margarita slice. My favorites were the margarita and the white slice. They were very good and flavorful! The white slice can use a bit more cheese, but it still was very good! My husband thought their reg cheese slices were very good. I thought the upside down slice was disappointing. The sauce didn't have any flavor in that slice. Overall the pizza was very good here. I recommend Corner Slice in Maplewood! read more

Excellent pizza close to home. I saw this place in NJ.com as one of the best pizza places in NJ, so I gave it a try. I ordered Upside Down pizza at a specific time, 3:00 pm, from their website. I got a text message around 2:50 p.m. stating that the pizza was ready. Pizza is awesome. This is now my favorite place. I will try garbage pizza next time. The place is spotless and everything looks perfect. I recommend it if you are looking for a great pizza in the area. A gentleman who handled my pizza was a nice guy, very friendly--service with a smile. There is no parking, only street parking, but it was easy to find since the neighborhood is well-organized. Amazing square pizza. I highly recommend going here if you enjoy super crunchy flavorful square slice pizza. The menu is pretty simple as is the seating at corner slice. They do what they do really well. Their slices remind me of Pizza Hut pan pie back in the 70s/80s if you're old enough to remember that. Crispy, light, airy, and the bottom of the crust is slightly oily, in a good way, as in not dry. I'm not usually a crust eater but I actually ate a fair bit of my crust. Service is good and they bring it to your table if they're not busy. The vibe is classic corner pizza joint with some funky touches like the old sign from their former city spot. Make sure to check out all the cool stickers in the bathroom! read more

Live in the area, finally paid a trip to visit this place. Had upside town and the off menu cheeseburger, buffalo chicken square slices, each costs $6 something a piece. After almost 6 years of supporting #SmallBusiness one bite at a time, @BigDudesBigFoods has reached our 1000th post. We headed down to #MaplewoodNJ to @Corner_Slice , an awesome pizza slice shop with a top notch selection of square pies. Mike and his #CornerSlice crew hooked us up with a flight of slices from their famous upside down to Margherita to #BuffaloChicken. My favorite was this week's special, #ChickenBaconRanch and Joe's was the #GarbagePie . The mouth watering #GarlicKnots are #BigDudesBigFoods sized for sure and delicious. This shop also has some great desserts. Today we tried the #KeyLimePie and were not disappointed. Corner Slice is a #MustStop for any pizza lover. These slices are soft in the middle and crunchy on the bottom and cooked perfectly. As you walk in and see the giant, nostalgic "Pizza" sign, block walls and church pews, it feels like a Pizza Speakeasy. This place is sure innovative! Owners experimenting in the back room with flavor combos...some perhaps not exactly what you would expect or want (hamburger slice, Pizza Hut style slice) but all ingredients are fresh. Pepperoni was the favorite though the white slice could have used a bit more flavor. Outside seating under the mural has Portland vibes and a nice addition to the neighborhood for sure! read more

4.25 but Yelp, so rounding down. Really good pizza! Crispy yet light and airy at the same time. Not overcooked or burned. If you want a thick piece of pie with the right amount of chew and crisp, this is the spot. We got pepperoni, Margherita, and cheese. All were delicious. Only negative was the seats and table were dirty and we had to wipe them down ourselves. Only two other tables had occupants when we showed up around 1.45pm on a Sunday read more

What a special treat of a (mostly) take-out pizza place nestled in a neighborhood off the beaten path! The square pizza "by-the-slice" has such a hearty yet light crust that holds up to the delicious sauce, cheese, and toppings. You order your slice(s) to be warmed up for you (awesome meal deals for sure) and try to grab one of the few seats. I love the cherry pepper bomb that makes any slice spicy, but the garbage pizza is one of the best slices for sure. There is a slice for just about everyone, from the regular plain and pepperoni to the vodka or upside down. What a fun place to add to your pizza rotation if you like to shake it up now and again! read more

Pretty tasty slices . Was a bit skeptical at first but their pizza is really good . Will be back .

90 bucks for two 10x16 inch pizzas. 90 bucks. 90. Really? One was the "garbage" pie. Overloaded with not particularly tasty veg and soggy as a result. The other was the "ramp and benton's bacon" pie. A scattering of ultra-smoky bacon bits and a few pathetic wilted strands of - I guess -ramps? looked like basil or the upper green part of a scallion cut off. The crust was not all that. so give them not a culinary award but a business award for overcharging people by a factor of 4 and making them believe they are getting something special. emperor? clothes? read more

One of my new favorites! Their thin crispy crust is simply sublime and light and airy. Highly recommend. Not your typical slice.

Picked up a bunch of slices while passing through and was honestly blown away! If we lived closer by we'd be regulars without a doubt. I visited Corner Slice to use a gift certificate and hit a few snags. I tried to phone in my order, but was told I had to use the online system. This was an inconvenience since I wanted to pay my remaining balance in cash, which the online platform didn't easily accommodate. I tried the upside-down pie, but for the price, it was smaller than expected, and the taste was fairly average.
