Im gonna update this and add that the gluten free slice is absolutely AMAZING. I genuinely didn't believe it was gluten free because it was that good. The crust was PERFECT, not crunchy or charred which seems to be the signature for the pizzerias. Again, I recognize it's a preference thing so I will definitely ease up. The garlic knot was way better this time too even though it was so good before. It wasn't dropping in grease nor burnt. So lessons here are, don't go before it's closed and eat the gluten free pie lol Original review: So I definitely want to try this place again because we got there late in the evening so they only had two types of pizza and the staff was doing their best but they were rushing. We had a pepperoni pizza and plain slice with the garlic knot. The crust was CRUNCHY and slightly "charred". When I look at pictures, I see that seems to be the vibe but it's just not my thing. I don't feel like I can enjoy a charred crust- I like crispy, not crouton. But honestly, at the end of the day it boils down to preference. Also, the sauce had no flavor for me. It gave school cafeteria and I really hated that for me. The garlic knots were amazing and that's why I'm giving this a 3. That was also burned but even with the burn, the flavor and texture were perfect. Finally made it to Corner Slice! Been wanting to visit this spot for a while, and finally got a round. It's VERY EASY to miss, no jazzy sign or anything --- I just followed my Google Maps to a T. This business serves up awesome sicilian square pizzas (NOT DETROIT). I arrived at about 6:15pm, and much of their pizzas were already sold out. Luckily, I got to try a few items --- the white pizza, the pepperoni pizza, and their famous garlic *NOT. The employee was super helping in explaining what was in the white pizza (you guessed it...lot of mozzarella and ricotta --- but also: a touch of LEMON!), so I got that....and it was super delicious. This type of pizza can only be eaten HOT. The dish is automatically elevated once it touches the heat of the oven. Pepperoni is pepperoni....but lets talk about THAT CRUST on these pizzas. It must be sourdough --- that's my guess. There's a lightness to the crunch that normal sicilian slices do not have. Owner, am I right? Now --- onto that Garlic NOT. What in the layered, buttery hell is this? This is a glutton's dream. I was peeling this NOT like it was a biscuit with layers. It is decadent --- and bigger than a Costco cupcake. I mistakenly decided to walk 20 mins in the semi-wrong direction to enjoy this experience. Although I struggled getting my baby stroller through the door, I was not disappointed. The pizza was delicious. I've been wanting to try this joint since they opened, but their information got lost in a sea of shared IG reels. The pizza is light, airy, with a buttery tasting crust. The slices are on the smaller side given their higher price. We had the upside down Sicilian, Reg cheese slice, white slice, and their margarita slice. My favorites were the margarita and the white slice. They were very good and flavorful! The white slice can use a bit more cheese, but it still was very good! My husband thought their reg cheese slices were very good. I thought the upside down slice was disappointing. Excellent pizza close to home. I saw this place in NJ.com as one of the best pizza places in NJ, so I gave it a try. I ordered Upside Down pizza at a specific time, 3:00 pm, from their website. I got a text message around 2:50 p.m. stating that the pizza was ready. Pizza is awesome. This is now my favorite place. I will try garbage pizza next time. The place is spotless and everything looks perfect. I recommend it if you are looking for a great pizza in the area. They do what they do really well. Their slices remind me of Pizza Hut pan pie back in the 70s/80s if you're old enough to remember that. Crispy, light, airy, and the bottom of the crust is slightly oily, in a good way, as in not dry. I'm not usually a crust eater but I actually ate a fair bit of my crust. Service is good and they bring it to your table if they're not busy. The vibe is classic corner pizza joint with some funky touches like the old sign from their former city spot. A scattering of ultra-smoky bacon bits and a few pathetic wilted strands of - I guess -ramps? looked like basil or the upper green part of a scallion cut off. Owners experimenting in the back room with flavor combos...some perhaps not exactly what you would expect or want (hamburger slice, Pizza Hut style slice) but all ingredients are fresh. I visited Corner Slice to use a gift certificate and hit a few snags. I tried to phone in my order, but was told I had to use the online system. This was an inconvenience since I wanted to pay my remaining balance in cash, which the online platform didn't easily accommodate. I tried the upside-down pie, but for the price, it was smaller than expected, and the taste was fairly average. Nice building, clean restaurant. I wish they had tap water available. Also, the price are pretty high for the size of the slice that you receive. The slices do taste good, they are just so oily and greasy. My fingers were dripping in oil after eating the pepperoni slice. The service was also quite slow, and the employee putting pizza in the oven to heat the slices only put in three to four slices at a given time. Waited in line 15 min on Friday 5pm-ish for a few of their dessert creations du jour to bring to a dinner party, they appeared to be in stock as they were sitting out in the case with the pizza. Got to the register to order, and the guy behind the counter tells me that all desserts been spoken for by online orders. Rude about it, like it was weird for me to actually want to buy something sitting there on display. Corner Slice serves square slices with a nice airy crust that is still crispy somehow. The ingredients and sauce are all high quality and very tasty.
