When walking in it felt like a downtown pizzeria but there is a spacious back room. This BYOB is really good, good service, good food and really good prices. Fresh soups made to order according to the menu are large and very tasty. Salads are big enough to share, our server knew to split without asking. Most dinners do have a dinner salad available for $2.99 extra. Mains are terrific and big, we all couldn't finish. read more

Food was great and service was excellent.Prices remain fair . BYOB is a plus. Will return.parking could be challenging.

Gian Marco looks like your average slice and sauce spot, but past the pizza counter in front, there's a quiet, warmly lit dining room nestled in back. The tables are dressed with white tablecloths, but the vibe is welcoming and casual. Our server was prompt and professional. You get warm focaccia and an oil-and-pesto dipping sauce upon being seated. Our group shared a bunch of dishes, and our waiter was very accommodating. The food was phenomenal. The stuffed artichoke had a brown gravy on it, unusual but good. It was well cooked overall but the choke itself was ever so slightly underdone (I like it more tender though it was cooked, not saying it wasn't). The vodka rigatoni was divine. The chicken cacciatore tasted just like gramma used to make, except that hers cooked down all day so that the peppers and aromatics disintegrated. The shrimp parmesan with capellini was delicious. Finally, the tartufo was the perfect finish and was somehow a lighter option to share for dessert, maybe bc of the poofs of airy whipped cream. Really nothing bad to say here! BYOB. Street or garage parking. Mangia! read more

Love the steak salad and rigatoni Vodka. Reasonable prices. Good everyday italian. Better off picking it up if you dont want to wait an hour plus for delivery. read more

Had a 4:30 reservation and it was not at all busy. We waited for over 10 minutes without being welcomed to a table when we could see the empty table from the door. 2 hostesses counted the chairs multiple times but never asked us in. Then they put menus at the table but never invited us in. When asked why we weren't welcomed to the table, one hostess then said they couldn't seat us because they were "missing a menu." I told her didn't need the menu that we just wanted to sit because we had my elderly mother with us and we had a reservation. Then she turned around and went back to the table to count the chairs again without asking us to have a seat. We left. Unacceptable way to treat paying customers. Teach your employees basic manners. So disappointing. read more

Excellent Italian food in the heart of a very Jewish community and they pulled it off because their food is good.

Good BYOB restaurant. Came on a weekend evening and there was a full but not too crowded restaurant. Service was friendly and timely. It was a relaxed atmosphere and family oriented. Feels local. Had the clams linguini and it was a solid 4/5. Overall a good restaurant to try if you are in the area and craving Italian food. read more

Good BYOB italian. Portion size is large and price is reasonable. Zuppa de Pesce and Capellini Mona Lisa are both good. Service is good.

Tried the turbot tonight. Very lightly breaded and in a lemon butter, wine sauce over some deliciously, fresh tomatoes, and asparagus. It was outstanding. The boom boom shrimp appetizer was yummy as well. Bon appétit! read more

I must say in the past I've been middle of the road on this place, but a couple of nights ago we had a great meal. First of all it's a BYOB which helps keep the bill down. The service is always great. This night my wife got the pounded veal chop parmigiana which she said was amazing and I got the ossobucco special which was delicious and a great value at $25. Definitely give this local joint a try. read more

Tremendous--the best penne vodka I've ever had. it was actually rigatoni vodka with pancetta and peas. 10 out of 10 stars. Meatballs were very good as well. read more

What a great place for good Italian food! My brother just moved to millburn and is exploring places to eat. We got takeout because of elderly and toddlers in the family. Everything was delicious probably would have been even better if we have eaten at the restaurant. The chicken parm was still super hot at least 30 mins from after we picked up and it was tasty and tender. All of the pasta dishes were excellent even my picky toddler asked for more. Service was great despite being such a busy restaurant. Would definitely go back again and perhaps dine in next time. The dinning area seems nice also. read more

Delivery 55 min to Maplewood Food was tasteless no flavor No receipt as to what the total and tax was Do not recommend for "lunch" working people as they won't be able to get it to you on time read more

Service was slow but the server was very polite. We ordered from the daily specials menu, food was average and it took a while to reach our table even though there were only two more people at the restaurant. Ambience was nice for a large group because there's good amount of space between tables. This restaurant is well kept so I'm givenit a . I would go back but only to try their pizza because it looked very tasty. read more

Best service and great dinner! We visited the trattoria before seeing a play. Excellent choice. Thank you.

This place is a great choice for casual Italian-American food. The pizza is underrated...you'll never see it on the lists of "best in the area" and, far as I know, it has not been "rated" by that Jackass that everyone thinks is an expert all of a sudden. But it is consistently well seasoned and the crust, a bit soft for some, is for me delightfully chewy (not raw) and subtly well-flavored. They have not bought into the "artisan" thing and keep it simple. Love it. Here is one place ---- so surprisingly and inexplicably rare in North Jersey----that knows from good eggplant parmigiana. As in Italy, they do not bury it in fried breadcrumbs or overdo the seasoning. My go to here....sauce is light, fresh tasting and complements the dish. I'd keep it simple ..... don't recommend going with the more complicated dishes (but that's just me; my wife does and she loves them, especially the Francaise.) Recommended with enthusiasm----would add a half star if that were an option read more

Very helpful when taking my order. I've lived around here a few months and still hadn't found my go to pizza place.. I think I have! Pizza was good. They Deliver. Haven't seen the location but I will try to one day. They accept cards which is weird not too nowadays. But there are a few places around here that don't. I didn't get to try the wings but I heard they were good. They have like all different kinds which reminded me of sharkys. I recommend. read more

My wife and I have been ordering in from Gian Marco Trattoria for the better part of a decade! It is our go-to place for pizza delivery, and we have always found their pizza to be fresh, hot, and delicious. Other favorites include calamari fritti, chicken cutlet parmigiana (sub or entree), penne arrabiata (genuinely spicy!), pasta with homemade meatballs, and shrimp fra diavolo (also spicy!). I recently had the pleasure of dining in at the restaurant, and had a nice experience. The dining room is quiet, tastefully decorated (cloth tablecloths, subdued lighting) and comfortable, and the tables are well spaced. The service is friendly and attentive, and the staff seem happy to be there. It's BYOB, which is nice too. read more

Great food and excellent service . Halibut was great as were our desserts. We will be going back

We have been to this establishment so many times have done. Takeout have eaten outside. Everything is always done to perfection. I am so happy that we found this place. I recommend it to everybody now we have had their pizza other appetizers their dinners everything is plentiful and you will definitely go home with a doggy bag. The portions are big. It also has a very nice inside, although we have never sat inside to eat. We will though sometime soon. read more

Trattoria Gian Marco - I had the appetizer vegetable platter with grilled eggplant and fresh mozzarella was excellent. Also one of the chicken specials. - Pizza Near Me - Millburn, New Jersey

The Pollo Stefanie was delicious and the waiter gave expert descriptions and recommendations for others dishes too. The staff was very attentive and friendly, yet still respectful not to hover. The restaurant was full of guests, yet, food and drinks still came out quickly. The menu clearly had gluten free dishes marked with a 'gf''. However, it's important to know these items are not all actually gluten free. Instead, they can be prepared to be gluten free. So, it's important to let the staff know dietary restrictions. It can get a little loud, and not the best place to take small children. I highly recommend Tratorria Gian! read more

I haven't dined here in over two years. Celebrated my 33rd wedding anniversary tonight. We like to eat early so the backroom was empty. Very beautifully decorated. The stuffed pork chop was amazing, stuffed with cheese and spinach in a brown sauce with delicious steamed vegetables. Side house salad was fresh. The desert tartufo was the best I ever had. My wife's pasta meal was good also. Will come back soon. Oh yeah, the price was so reasonable also. Under $70 for two. read more

Fantastic experience across the board! A few friends and I decided to visit this place after a 6 hour hike conquering the South Mountain Reservation, so we had worked up quite the appettite. Eating here was a pure gem. I don't even know how La Strada is still in business. The music playlist was awesome, with 70s/80s rock classics like queen and the beatles and famous movie songs like kung fu fighting. The ambiance was excellent, serving was sublime, the food was incredibly delicious (came quickly and was remarkably affordable!) It's rare for a restaurant to feature every single one of these perks. Would highly reccomend to anyone-- and make sure to ask for the menu specials, as those are really great. read more

A gem! The grilled vegetable Napoleon was spectacular. The vegetables were grilled perfectly and the white bean salad was delicious. The balsamic vinegar drizzle was fabulous. Bottom line: great prices, good service, and delicious pizza! And its BYOB? Son... Gluten line: very accommodating, we usually order our gluten free pies from here for delivery. In location just as accommodating. Long line: very happy to have this place nearby. We routinely order delivery from here and have not been disappointed, and finally made it to eat in. Place is intimate and friendly, prices are fair, and the food did not disappoint. Highly recommend it if in the neighborhood. read more

Extraordinary! We ordered the meat & cheese Lasagna and it was delicious! It actually had a light taste about it, not heavy. The sauce, meat and cheese was a wonderful blend. The sauce was tasty but not too much and not too little. It was gooey stretchy cheese and went down like my momma never made. Six of us ate from 1/2 a tray, had seconds and still had 2 pieces leftover. We asked for bread with this order and the rolls were fresh, warm and tasty. Everyone wanted to know where we ordered from. Can't say enough about the great meal Gian Marco delivered in every way. PS they were recommended by friends at a Holiday party in South Orange, while we enjoyed Gian Marco's cheese stuffed shells. Mmmm. Sorry no picks, we couldn't stop eating to take a pic. read more

Food and service is excellent. Love the salads and the wraps, but anything you get is good.

The chicken noodle soup came out boiling hot (I love boiling hot soup) and the pasta was al dente. It really hit the spot. The bread is just like my grandma used to make, soft with tomatoes on top. They serve the bread with a delicious olive oil pesto on the side. That could have been my meal.... I proceeded with the rigatoni a la vodka with was cooked to perfection! Just the right amount of cream & tomatoes. The rigatoni had a wonderful bite to it and the peas were sweet and firm. Next time I'll save room for tiramisu! Winner winner!!! Great Italian music playing too, looking forward to coming back! Thanks for the recommendation, Laura! read more

A solid, small-town pizza joint. Pizzas are good, though the crust is a little thicker than I typically like. Sauce and cheese are good quality, and the grandma pie is the best around. Try the drunken grandma, made with vodka sauce. The stuffed rigatoni in vodka sauce with chicken is a great Tuesday special. All in all, a great place with reasonable price read more
