Used DoorDash and placed an order for pickup, so can't speak to the ambiance, but the young lady at the counter gave us a friendly greeting and wished us a good evening. Got the GARLIC-CHEESE FLATBREAD, the EGGPLANT PARMIGIANA, and the MAKE YOUR OWN with penne, meatballs, roasted garlic, and Napolitana Tomato sauce. 4/5 on the first two, 4.5/5 on the MYO. Flatbread would be really good if it were had at the restaurant instead of takeout, however air frying it to crisp up the bread would definitely address that. My GF said the eggplant was good. And the MYO I got was really good. Nice flavorful meatballs, really good sauce, and the roasted garlic was perfect a perfect addition. There was enough of a portion of each dinner for two nights of meals so value-wise, this was an excellent dinner spot. May have to try dine-in next time we come back (and we will be back). read more

I finally got the chance to eat here. I ordered the carbonara special. Compared to the rest of the menu, which was very good value with pastas priced under $20. This special was a bit pricier but no problem at all as I really like carbonara. My thoughts on it was that I thought it lacked a bit in flavor but was still pretty good. I don't think I would ever get it again, but the spaghetti was all Dante and I could tell that it was made homemade and fresh and the quality of the pasta was very good. One stand out quality was that the pasta came out within five minutes of me ordering which is impeccable service. The waiters were also very friendly and asked a few times if we enjoyed our meal and if we needed anything which I appreciated. This restaurant is close to where I live and I look forward to trying it again as I think the value is very good. I would probably get something different next time. read more

We gathered for our quarterly Brothers' dinner here 2 weeks ago and this neighborhood gem was perfect. Being italian, but unfamiliar with Spaghetti all'Assassina, we were intrigued and then delighted by the chef and owner who not only served up helpings of his signature Assassina dish, but preceded it with a traditional antipasto and a primo of his special cheese filled meatballs over pasta. We topped our evening off with espresso/sambuca/dolci which left us satiated and satisfied. Added benefit is BYOB which keeps the price reasonable and the wine flowing. Updating the review from a 5 to a 4 after a weird experience recently. We wanted to have the included protein on the side from the menu where you pick your ingredients. After being surprisingly told no, I did probe further about this and was told it has to be in the sauce. Huh? The owner then explained they were particular about their recipes and if we customized something but didnt like it, who would be to blame? Definitely a 180 from our initial experience here and I am still confused as to how a create your own dish cannot allow for protein on the side - (we were more than willing to pay extra and order it as a side). The positive? The staff was very nice and attentive. The negative? We all felt the price was a bit high for counter-service pasta. $87 for 3 pastas and 1 entree...we felt we could pay similarly for a sit-down restaurant. The food itself was tasty - 4 of 5 stars - but the pasta could have been slightly more al dente and the shrimp was slightly overcooked. My daughter felt her sausage was too oily, and my husband's chicken parm tasted like it was fried in old oil. We were all most upset about not having the option to choose free tap water to drink. Why should guests pay $3 more for a bottle of water if they wanted fluids with their meal? I ordered the Fettuccine and Bolognese Friday afternoon and it was absolutely disgusting, dry and had a bad smell. Also, who serves brown Bolognese? The cashier placed this small bowl in a big brown paper grocery bag, folded the top and stapled it shut. I was curious as to why I received such a big bag stapled shut and now I can speculate that it was done so that the smell wouldn't escape, or to prevent me from opening it onsite and see the garbage they gave me. This spoiled dish was not even fit to feed to a dog. A waste of $24.00....I won't be back!! All'Assassina you should be ashamed of yourself for treating your customer like this. I love Italian cuisine but recently having tried white table clothed Cara Mira in Millburn, NJ, I was disappointed (mediocre food with a big price tag, but that is another story for another day!). I searched yelp and found All' Assassina, The Killer Pasta Project, opened 8 mos ago and decided to give Italian another try. The restaurant interior design was casual with a really comfortable inviting atmosphere with an open concept. We tried their "design your own pasta" 1. La Creazione: Linguine w/ mushrooms, olives, broccoli rabe and tomatoes w/ marinara sauce. Next was their signature dishes, Piatti Firmati: 2. Carbonara Con Fungi and 3. Assassino + Figlia. Also a side of their garlic cheese flatbread (SO DELISH!). Their pasta is made fresh and it was cooked in their open kitchen, did I mention fresh pasta?!?! The food came out piping hot, the flavor and aroma of the pasta was simply divine. We met the owner, Marino, what an incredibly genuine and down to earth guy! He also happens to own Souvlaqueria and Icecreamology, both next door! Price tag was under $20 a dish, reasonably priced and fair! My final words, who needs a white table cloth!
